Y41 S1 Ravenclaw Quidditch Practice

Sawyer was doing his best not to watch the beaters too closely lest they get ideas about new targets but he couldn't help but still flinch anytime he caught one of them taking a swing out of the corner of his eye.

Sefina gasped when one of the bludgers hit her in the side. Grimacing, she carried on, trying to fight back the pain and focus on finding the snitch again.

Hamish continued his search.

Fighting off the ache in her side and not exactly winning, Sefina looked for the snitch. She glanced at Hamish to see if he had any ideas, but he didn't seem to have caught sight of it either.

Michael had been circling, keeping an eye on things. He didn't want to look like he was trying too hard, but he was enthusiastic and enjoying playing. When nobody else went for the quaffle he dived in, hoping to take another shot and get some more practice.

Michael took another shot at goal, but it was pretty easily blocked. He didn't mind too much if it was their keeper blocking as that bode well for the match coming up.

Michael was still smaller and quicker than Sawyer had expected but he was more ready for him this time around, knocking his shot aside and nearly dropping the quaffle before throwing it back out. It was probably good for his ego to fumble the quaffle a little bit, he supposed.

Branson took the ball as it was thrown back out.

Having had so little success, it was a nice surprise really to actually hit something and for it to then go off and hit @Finn Madison

Branson Archer x1
Hamish Reid x1
Sutton Spencer x1
Sefina Drage x1
Finn Madison

Hamish continued his search.

Despite the pain in her ribcage, Sefina still noted the glint of gold at the end of the pitch. She wove through the other players, snatching the snitch out of the air. Sefina wasn't sure if it was beginner's luck, but being able to catch the thing repeatedly sure felt nice.

Hamish looked over when Sefina managed to catch it. "Good job kid!" He called out to her, taking the time to clean his glasses and let the snitch disappear again.

Sutton once again flew around looking for a bludger. She could not get there in time to hit the bludger. It was starting to get frustrating. She needed to channel one of her favourite book characters. Apparently, the real world wasn't as easy as the fantasy books she read.

As soon as he was close to hoops he threw the ball and was pleased when it went in.

Valeria was unable to hit another bludger.

Sawyer was completely distracted from where he'd been keeping an eye on Branson and the quaffle when he saw Sefina on the move again, rising on his broom some to get a better look as she snatched up the snitch again. "Yes! Nice job- Oh shi-" Sawyer scrambled to block Branson's shot, not even bothered when he wasn't faster enough and Branson managed a goal. It was probably a bad idea, but he could feel his hopes getting higher for their first game coming up.

Sefina had to admit she could get used to the compliments. She had no idea where the snitch went to next.

Determined to try and at least pretend to be a bit more... captain-y, Sawyer tried to shake off his near slip earlier, giving the team a bland, innocent smile as he shifted his attention back to the game.

After hitting Sutton Finn drifted far from his teammates, wobbling as a breeze hit him that far out. He hardly needed another reminder of why he didn't deserve to be on the team. When a bludger came near he prepared to hit it away but didn't swing in time, the ball striking him hard in the shoulder and knocking the wind out of him. Rubbing his sore shoulder, Finn tried to collect himself and flew after the ball, trying to hit it back to no avail.

Sefina looked for the snitch.

Teeth gritted, Finn flew closer to his teammates, trying to get his head back into the game.

When no one else went for the quaffle, Branson flew forward and grabbed it.

Valeria's action (hit) failed, and she was disappointed.
