Y38 Hufflepuff Practice

Linden watched as the practice got brutal bludgers hitting everyone. the only person free was him. thanks in part to the rules. and also to the fact that he was the least risk to winning. however it didn't mean he was immune for hits. he focused on the quaffle blocking shots when he could but some made it past him. then out of nowhere there was a thrump in his side knocking the wind out out him. clearly he wasn't totally immune to being hit. he took a few minutes to recover gaining a great amount of respect for those who were in more targeted roles. he cirtainly would have. bruise there. he then continued his work though he felt like he would struggle more going to his left. he kept quite a close eye on the quafffle but only a few moments later he felt another thwack this time in his thigh. as the bludger hit him again. ouch. he paused his circling fo a few minutes letting the pain subside before continuing on though he knew he wasn't going as well as before as he dived to reclaim lilths shot after It went sailing thorough the hoop. and passed it out into the pitch

Elliot's eyes were trained on the pitch when he heard the sound of the bludger approaching, he turned quickly, just in time to see Connor take the hit. "Wow, are you okay?" he asked, hovering nervously, and waving to Tilly to appreciate a solid shot. He was grateful to Connor for stopping him from being hit, but he couldn't help but hope Connor would use his bat next time.

One for everyone!

René couldn't keep up with Lillith, amazed as she managed to grab the quaffle and keep scoring. After her last shot, he swooped in, grabbing the quaffle and doing a lap of the pitch as he tried to get used to flying with it.

Tilly flew around and hit nothing.

Once Elliot was sure Connor was okay, he turned his attention back to seeing if he could snag the snitch one more time.

Doing a lap of the pitch, René was feeling a bit more confident on a broom. He kept his eye out for the other chasers, in case one tried to steal or if he could pass.

Elliot was keeping his eyes peeled as he circled the pitch, though he did spare a moment to get a read one the team. They'd been doing amazingly, but he wondered if they'd need a quick break and timeout or if everyone could make it to the end of practice without one.

Not seeing a decent opening to pass, René decided instead to rush forward towards the hoops, trying not to scrunch his eyes shut as he made his throw. He cheered when it managed to just tip through the left-hand hoop, swinging his arm up happily in celebration.

Seeing another bludger coming for Elliot Connor lunged to block it, not realising he had miscalculated the angle until too late. "OOF!" He said loudly as the bludger hit him in the side, and Connor could already tell he would have quite an impressive bruise. He quickly blinked away the tears that sprung to his eyes, reassuring Elliot that he was fine before flying after the ball. He swung hard again, his shot managing to connect with his target. "SORRY!" He called out loudly to Lucas.
@Lucas Fletcher

Amy caught the quaffle as it was thrown back into play, and winced when she saw Lucas get hit by another bludger. She hoped that the beaters could keep this up for their games.

Updating this!

Lillith caught the quaffle when it was thrown back into play. She started another lap around the pitch.

Tilly watched as her next bludger sailed into @Elliot Briar. She waved at him semi-apologetically, but he knew the drill.

Lillith wondered if she should pass the quaffle but continued to fly ahead, seeing no one to pass to.

Tilly tried a barrell roll, deciding quickly that was a bad idea.

Lillith approached the hoops once more and decided that she wanted to try shooting upside down again. She flipped over and threw in the quaffle into the hoops. Gliding downwards and back upright to go back into position. Lillith was very happy to see the quaffle make it in once more.

Connor was too slow to block the next bludger that came for Elliot, but he shot after the ball and swung hard, returning it to the person who had sent it with a quick apology. "Sorry!"
@Tilly Drage

Lucas yelped in pain as he was hit by another bludger, feeling tears sting in his eyes. He watched as Elliot and Tilly were both hit by bludgers as well, and wondered why this practice was so harsh. Were their beaters just that good or were they bad at dodging?

Tilly was not expecting her bludger to come back at her so quickly. It nicked her in the side, and she grimaced in pain. Well, it was deserved, at least. She waved back at Connor to say no worries and carried on.

Lucas was definitely hurting a bit from the second bludger hit, but he kept on looking for the snitch.

Elliot was grateful for Connor deflecting the bludger, but he should have known to keep an eye out for Tilly and the second one. The hit caught him off guard and he spun on his broom, pausing for a moment to breathe out the aching sting from the impact. Regaining his wits, Elliot checked over the team, deciding they looked about as achey and worn out as he felt so he blew his whistle. "Okay guys, take five, grab some water, rest up, and then we can get back to it," he said, touching down and gulping down some water. Once his lets felt a bit more rested and five minutes had passed, Elliot blew his whistle again, signaling the team to get back in the air.

OOCOut of Character:
Bludger hits have been reset for practice purposes :party: Beaters, have at it.

René was amazed when Lillith managed to make a shot upsidedown. He was just glad he could make any shots at all. He was grateful when Elliot called a time out though, his legs rejoicing the second he was back on solid ground. For the duration of the time out, René mostly just sat on the ground, sipping his water. "That was an insane shot," he commented to Lillith, right before they were set to get back in the air.

When Elliot blew his whistle, René managed to get his hands on the quaffle, swiveling his head to check how close the other chasers were.

Lillith was so glad that Elliot decided to call for a break. As much stamina as she had, the hufflepuff was getting a bit tired and thirsty. Once on the ground, she took a sip of water and sucked on a lollipop, eager to get her sugar level high again. “Thanks Rene!” She said. Lillith had been practicing her upside down quidditch a lot over the break and she had been developing her shooting trick along with it. She still had to come up with a name for it, but she had almost mastered it.

Now energised once more, Lillith took for the sky and flew close by Rene, ready for anything.

Lillith was playing pretty amazingly and it made René more nervous to have her following him across the pitch. Not wanting to hold the quaffle any longer, he lobbed it towards the hoops, disappointed when Linden managed to block it this time.

Elliot was glad to see the team seemed more revitalized after a quick break. They were playing fantastically today and he wanted them to take care of themselves as best they could.

Tilly was grateful for the break. She was hungry, thirsty, and tired. The water at least would tide her over until she could get a snack. After the break finished up, she jumped back onto her broom, smacking the next bludger towards Elliot again. Except, it went off course and hit @Lillith Montgomery. She felt bad for hitting her friend twice in one practice.
