Y37 Hufflepuff Practice S1 (2)

Tilly's next bludger walloped @Elliot Briar just moments after he'd caught the snitch. Bad luck (or good luck?)

Elliot was just letting go the snitch when a bludger collided with his shoulder, jolting him forward. He was grateful he'd had just enough time to release the snitch so that his other hand was free to grip his broom to stop him from just tipping too far forward and capsizing. Righting himself, he gave Tilly a rueful thumbs up, glad he'd at least managed the catch before getting hit.

Amy had gotten to practice just as Elliot started his speech. She was feeling a little down about their loss, but hoped that their next game would be better. She flew off, trailing behind the other chasers for a little bit. When Lillith caught the Quaffle again, Amy flew up a bit closer, just in case she decided to pass.

Lillith saw Amy and decided to pass it to her, "Amy!" she shouted, giving her a heads up before passing the quaffle to her. It seemed the seekers were doing pretty well today, they were catching the snitch left and right. It motivated her to do even better.

@Amy Jewel

Connor heard the bludger coming towards him a second too late, turning just in time to be struck in the thigh. He cried out with pain, tears pricking his eyes at once. Connor always tried hard not to think about how painful bludgers were, to avoid feeling bad about his position, but it was hard to ignore when his thigh was stinging. He flew a quick lap around the pitch to clear the tears from his eyes, stopping once he had collected himself and spotted a bludger nearby. Shooting towards it, Connor swung and sent the ball flying straight into Lucas. He winced slightly, calling out to the younger boy. "SORRY!"
@Lucas Fletcher

Abian stayed near Lillith and Amy, watching them closely. He saw as Lillith passed to her, and grinned. "Good job! Now try scoring, Amy!" He said encouragingly.

Lucas was feeling pretty pleased about his catch and Elliot's compliment. At least they were even now. For... a moment. Because it seemed like only minutes before Elliot grabbed the snitch again. Lucas tried to follow it again, but lost track of it quickly. Then he was hit by a bludger, and he yelped in pain.

Tilly flew around and hit nothing.

Lucas was hurting quite a bit, but trying to ignore it. He rubbed his side and then kept flying.

It seemed like Elliot wasn't the only one getting knocked around by bludgers, but at least their beaters were getting in good practice he tried to reason. Turning his broom, Elliot set off for another loop of the pitch, also trying to keep an eye both on Lucas and their beaters.

Tilly vaulted a bludger towards her teammates, but everyone dodged it successfully. At least the Hufflepuff team seemed to be better at avoiding bludgers than other houses, based on the last two games.

Moving down the pitch, Elliot ducked when he heard a bludger zip past, giving Tilly a sheepish look as he continued on.

Tilly hit a bludger and it told her she was mean

Elliot thought he spotted the tell-tale movement of the snitch across the field, picking up speed to take after it.

After hitting Lucas Connor couldn't help feeling guilty, flying across the pitch to take the younger seeker's side for a bit and keep an eye out for nearby bludgers.

Tilly's bludger missed its mark... Again.

Elliot grinned as he got closer, certain he'd definitely caught sight of the snitch. It shot off sharply to the left and he tried to turn his broom quickly along with it, hoping not to lose it.

Tilly thought she would try for the other co-captain. Well, not really, but- she winced as she actually hit @Abian Hunter. Ouch. She was certainly Elliot and Abian's favorite beater by now.

Amy grinned when Lillith passed the Quaffle to her. Hearing Abian call out to score, she decided to give it a try. Flying towards the hoops, she threw the Quaffle and watched as it sailed through. Grinning, she flew off.

Tilly flew away as she knocked another bludger, secretly happy she hadn't hit anyone this time.

Hunter cheered for Amy as she score and quickly grabbed the quaffle after she scored, he was looking around for someone to pass until he saw a free chaser so Hunter passed the quaffle to the nearby chaser.

Lillith received the quaffle from Hunter and attempted to score once again. This time it made it's mark and she smiled in satisfaction.

Tilly moved to defense, sighing as she punted a bludger away from the chasers.

Tilly thought her teammates were more quiet than normal. She whacked a bludger at them to wake them up, but no dice.

The bludger hit Abian out of nowhere, and it hurt quite a bit. He tried to ignore it, but still gave Tilly a thumbs up to show her he was alright. He rubbed his arm, then watched and cheered as Amy scored, and then again when Lillith did. He grabbed the quaffle when it was thrown back into play, tucking it under his arm as he flew off with it.
