Y37 Gryffindor Practice S1

Lysander dived in an effort to hit back the bludger Emma had hit, but his swing missed and it continued on its way. He exhaled, scanning the skies to find the second one, and to keep track of what everyone else was doing.

Seeing an opportunity Chloë swooped in to catch the quaffle before either Knox or Noel could. “Too slow!” She chuckled as she secured it under her arm and flew away from the hoops to give their new keeper some space.

There was still no sign of the snitch, Flynn letting out an annoyed huff as he continued to look. Though he did have to glance towards Sierra to see how she was doing, returning the smile with one of his own. He was going to prove to her he was a good seeker, all he had to do was find the snitch and catch it.

Making her way around the pitch Chloë looked around to see where the other chasers were and if she could manage a pass to Sully. As she got closer to the hoops she reckoned it might be better to take a shot herself. Lining it up she threw the quaffle at the left hoop, frowning when it went wide.

Lysander swung his broom around, spotting one of the bludgers. He accelerated after it, bat raised and at the ready.

Nikko managed to block Sully's shot. His hand stung a little from where it had caught the quaffle, even through his gloves, but he was hardly phased by it. He was just happy he hadn't made a fool of himself yet. He smiled at Lysander's compliment, feeling a little more confident and went back to keeping his eye on the quaffle.

After missing her shot Chloë turned around to get back in position, waiting to see who would catch the quaffle.

The longer he went without any sign of the snitch, the more irritated he was feeling about the whole thing, huffing as he turned his broom around in the air and just kept on looking. It had to be around here somewhere and he was going to find it.

Emma was trying not to pay too much attention to everyone else, trying to focus on her own task of hitting bludgers. She followed the bludger Lysander was following as well, hoping to hit it away from him. But as she swung, she missed the bludger entirely.

Nikko continued to watch from his spot in front of the goal hoops. He had blocked one shot today but he didn't want to relax now. He still had a long way to go to prove himself and he didn't want to slip up now.

"A lot of hurry up and wait, right?" Sierra said as she passed Flynn, keeping her eyes on the pitch. She zigzagged as she continued flying around.

Emma kept chasing the bludger, trying to hit it again. But she missed again, and grew more frustrated. "Stupid bludger!" She yelled at it as it flew off.

Suly cheered when Chloë was able to nab the quaffle before team scarlet could manage it, sticking with her as she flew back before they approached the hoops again. She had a good angle on a shot and Sully hung back to give her some space and help distract Nikko. "Good shot," He called to her, even as it missed, the pair of them resuming hovering to see if they could edge out team scarlet and intercept again.

Spotting an opportunity, Sully shot forward as the quaffle was thrown back in, nabbing it with a cheer before any team Scarlet chasers could get their hands on it.

"Yeah," he laughed just a little as Sierra passed him, "You could say that." Still no sign of the snitch, for either of them, so he supposed he shouldn't feel too bad about it. All he could do was keep flying and hope that it made an appearance soon.

Sully took a lap, dodging around Sierra and Flynn as they hunted for the snitch before making an approach on the hoops. He kept the quaffle tucked tight, not wanting Noel or Knox to get their hands on it before he and Chloe could get in another shot on goal.

Lysander laughed at Emma's shouting, and trailed a little after her. He could understand her frustration, he hadn't had a good shot yet either, and he needed to step it up.

Chloë shot after Sully as he managed to grab the quaffle, keeping a little bit behind him to watch out for the other chasers.

Sierra spotted a glint of gold in the distance, and she zoomed towards it. It had disappeared by the time she got there, and she scolded herself for losing sight of it.

Lysander charged forward, swinging his bat back to take a shot at a bludger, though it connected with something behind him with a metallic clink. He looked over his shoulder, watching the snitch flitter away. When he looked back, the bludger had gained some considerable distance. He groaned and continued after it.

With Chloë backing him up, Sully was sure they could take on the keeper. Taking a sudden turn, Sully lobbed the quaffle to her, hoping she could get in an easy shot while Nikko was still focusing on him. @Chloe Thompson

Still no sign of the snitch, so Fynn decided to try a different tactic, moving a little lower to the ground in the hopes that maybe it was just hiding around the goal hoops.

Chloë caught the quaffle when Sully passed it to her, wanting to wait a second but feeling like she had to act quick with how close they were to the hoops. She let out a little sigh when her shot didn’t go in, giving Sully a shrug as she flew back into position.

Sully might have a bit too obvious in his attempt to distract Nikko, or maybe he and Chloë were just moving too fast to pull it off, but Chloë didn't manage the shot. He shrugged back at her in disappointment. "Next one, aye," He said, moving to wait for the quaffle to come back into play. They'd been doing a decent job of playing defense at least so far, so Sully was confident.

Lysander was torn between watching the chasers score, and trying to do his own thing. Gold failed their next attempt at a goal, and he finally tore his eyes away, coming up alongside a bludger. He gave it a whack, and it soared away, missing his intended target by a wide margin.
