Valentine's Werewolf

Im still reading back so excuse me if this seems to be a tumblr of information, but I am looking at the active people as being suspicious. We always have the tactic of one laying low and one not, so if you wanted a switch up, wouldn't it make sense to do something others aren't suspecting like Jesse said? I was expecting to be a lot further when I got back from my cruise so I'm surprised we still have a lot (and surprised I'm not dead, thought I'd be the perfect target tbh) Looking at activeness, Kathy, Jesse, Donna and Daphne are looking most suspicious to me. If we leave the inactive people alive, it's easier to weed out th wolf because if they continue not to kill someone we can assume they're an inactive person?

Ok it's kind of wild to me that you name active people as suspicious, specifically me and Jesse when we were the ones that voted for Alex in the previous day. Unless you think the remaining wolf sacrificed their Alpha and then decided not to eat anyone at night after that? That seems strange to me. The fact that no one died last night seems to point at the wolves being at least somewhat inactive. So imo those are two reasons why it's really weird (and kind of suspicious) to point active people specifically. Unless the wolf is trying to make us THINK they are inactive by not voting one night. But if we start thinking like that with everything we'll never reach a conclusion xD
If we leave the inactive people alive, it's easier to weed out th wolf because if they continue not to kill someone we can assume they're an inactive person?

I don't really see the logic in this? But maybe I'm just not understanding what you mean.
I have to disagree that its easier to weed out wolves when we leave the inactive people alive. When more inactive people are alive -> fewer people are posting. When fewer people posting -> no one is lyching. Which means the wolves can just eat whoever they want until they win.

Activity is what keeps the game alive, imo, and it gives us clues to for voting later. This is why inactive people are inherently suspicious to me. If you're a villager there's no benefit to not posting. (I get that people have lives outside of this game xD I'm specifically talking about people that are active and rping on the site but not posting in werewolf)

Just going to throw this tidbit out.

Medusa (Night) - Once per night, you may cast your gaze upon a player and turn them to stone. That night, your target will be roleblocked and unable to use their ability. The Ghost is exempt from being roleblocked.

So we know there's a role that can block people from using their actions, what I don't know is if the poem would tell us whether or not the Medusa was successful in blocking a wolf. Similarly to the escort in ToS for those who play, they kind of have to figure it out for themselves. I don't know what the case is here, and if it'd be mentioned in the poem, but I don't want to ignore the possibility that the other wolf is still just as active, but was stopped from using their ability. (Might also be a good idea for the Medusa to block the same person tonight, to be sure.)

Currently, I trust Daphne, since she lead the vote on Alex. I think I also trust Rowan, since Alex voted against him on the first day.
That being said, either of them (or me, from their point of view potentially) could still be the Janitor, but I'm just hoping that's not the case.

I still think it could be Donna :p

Haha, it's not me!

I totally forgot about Medusa.
I agree with Daphne's rebuttal, and tbh the comments from Teigs make me more suspicious. Obviously she doesn't want to get killed but I dunno. Gut feeling. Gonna get the ball rolled and vote Teigan.

Well I'm convinced :r :p
I do agree that Teigan has shot up to the most suspicious, I couldn't see the sense in that post, and I'm curious to see her defense

I don't need to defend it. I'm just saying that inactive people are th way to go. I agree with you that the wolf is an active person, I also think they took the time not to post, it's something that has been done before by trying to throw people off by not picking someone to lynch. I've done it myself to make someone else look suspicious. Forgive me though as I'm still reading back on the game, I may be wrong, but just because Daphne voted Alex doesn't make her innocent. She could have sacrificed the alpha because Alex was acting suss, maybe that was the gameplan from the start? I dunno. It's just a thought.

I don't think I understand the first part of what you're saying.

I'm also a bit skeptical on the whole "throwing your wolf buddy under the bus" tactic. Like yes, its been done before in an attempt to seem innocent, but usually only when there's too much suspicion on one person, and never the first vote. It's unlikely to be used when there are a lot of safer alternatives, and in the case of Alex dying, I don't feel like the situation was so dire that her wolf buddy needed to start a lynch against her. I also don't think its likely it was the gameplan from the start. Who wants to die in this game? We all sign up to participate, and I don't think many people would agree to being killed off so their wolf buddy can live on without suspicion. It's not really fun for them. And how does that conversation go? "Hi I'm so glad I've been paired with you! So how do you feel about acting suss so I can lynch you and everyone will think I'm innocent?". If that happened to me as a wolf, dying so someone else can go on and take the glory, I don't think it'd really feel like for a win for me.

With that said, I don't know if I totally think you're the wolf, Teigan. It's a bit too sloppy? But, I think you could still very well be the Janitor in this instance.

I mean, yeah, I get you, but I've been a fall boy before. It didn't start out that way, but it became that, Alex and whoever this other wolf is could be using that as a way of sussing out other people and because of that and because I don't want to die at this point, since I think there's a vote for me, I'm going to tie it and vote for Donna.

I think I'm going to have to vote for Teigan though. Just to be sure. As much as I want to find out if I'm right about Donna :r

The day was quiet as the people went on,
The deaths of their fallen in memories long gone.
Perhaps a chance would greet them though soon,
As Zennon Baros was best friends with the moon.

He'd tried to follow in the footsteps of Woodlock,
But fell short by a mile and received quite the shock.
The last wolf of the town was lynched there and then,
And just a cleaner remained, to sweep out the den.

IT IS NIGHT.

It was easy to sleep, now they were so close,
Enjoying a morning, they plated their toast.
When the sun shone, not a hair had been harmed,
With hope in the air if they were not charmed.

Excitement was brewing, that they could return,
Provided the janitor, chose not to burn.
Back to reality, the chances of danger,
Still loomed ahead, behind the clean stranger.

IT IS DAY

Okay so this is interesting. How do we go about finding the janitor?

It's tough. It isn't as if they'd act particularly suspicious right?

*Wrong account*

Its tough, because the janitor had no knowledge about the wolves so we can't even really look at voting patterns. All I can think of is to see how invested people were in trying to kill the wolves. I feel like the janitor would probably try to blend into the background more and not work so hard? I would say another strategy is to confuse the matter and try to misdirect, but since the janitor had no extra info they could easily help lynch a wolf by accident that way.

The two people I trust most to be villagers are Jesse and Rowan at this point. Neither I think are 100% safe, but Jesse has helped kill the wolves the most (which doesn't say everything since if he was a janitor he wouldn't know who they were, but like I said I feel like the janitor wouldn't lynch as much) & Rowan simply because I know him well enough to feel like his relief at not having a special role is real. (If I'm wrong I'll feel really silly)

That leaves:

Dan
Donna
Kathy
Emzies
(if i forget anyone pls tell me)

Out of these, I feel like Dan fits my theory of how the janitor would react the most. He's been online but barely posted (until now, suspicous) though I don't really have much else to go on.

I think we just have to get lucky at this point. My vote is for Dan

EDIT: I'd also like to point out that Kathy feels less invested / loud than in other games, which makes me go a little bit :glare: but she also seems to just be busy in general, and not just lying low in werewolf only.

So, with the wolves all dead, it'll be hard for us not to win.
We still have a handful of Special roles, and without anyone left to kill them, I think it's safe for those people to reveal who they are, so we know for sure which of us we can actually trust. The Medusa, the Diseased, and the Apprentice. Even if all of the villagers weren't present, the three of them could easily kill the Janitor, and if two people tried to claim the same special role, we'd know one of them is lying, and it'd just be a matter of figuring out who.

I can say now that I'm a villager, and like Daphne said about me, I can say I trust her the most because of lynch activity. It'd be better for the Janitor to have abstained from voting than to vote, or to have voted randomly at the start with such a low chance of getting one of the wolves.

I don't know if I necessarily agree about it being Dan, because I feel like someone with the Janitor role would participate over the course of the game rather than showing up day one and then skipping out for the rest of it. Then again, he did just happen to re-emerge once the wolves were taken out, so maybe it's a last ditch attempt to come along and seem innocent.

Claiming roles is smart! I actually didn't think to suggest it because I forgot that there were so many special roles still, and I figured everyone would just say villager and we wouldn't know much more.

As for me:

I'm the diseased x_x

EDIT: I also assume because of the rules that the janitor can't make contact with the wolves outside of the topic, so I do wonder if lying low isn't the best strategy. After all, if you don't need the wolves to know who you are (as you can't contact them to tell them anything) I feel like going undetected is the best way to remain uneaten and also unlynched? Correct me if I'm 100% wrong, but I feel like the janitor role in this game mostly was based on luck at picking the same targets the wolves did.

Also, the fact that the janitor was never able in this game to actually erase any of the roles may point to them being possibly inactive. I know the odds are very small even if they did choose someone each night, but it's still something we can consider.

That makes sense! I guess it depends on the person.
It is probably really difficult to happen to match up with the wolves target, but I agree inactivity could be another factor in it not happening

I would encourage others to also claim roles, but since I don't think it's likely to happen that everyone will do so before the day ends I'm keeping my vote in place for now.

Its only been a few hours into the day phase, give them time! xD
I'm wondering if Emzies will appear, since she's the other person who seems to fit the janitor category :cyndi:

xD I meant my comment based on general activity these last days, but I now see how I look very impatient :r

I do think Emzies also seems to fit, but it's really a guessing game now.

I guess if we're claiming roles I should come clean. I'm a villager.

Its been a hectic week for me with me still adjusting to a new job and still packing up my house to move and I also haven't really been following the game so any input I had would just be the sake of trying to look innocent which wouldn't have contributed to the game in anyway.

I'm holding off on voting for now because I have no idea.

The Janitor role still confuses me xD

I was the Apprentice. I was lucky enough to choose Clara, and then became the doctor (!!!!!). But, it was pretty late notice so I don't think I actually saved/healed anyone

Basically they have to pick the same target as the wolf on the same night they kill someone, so we don't get told their role (i.e, the doctor could die and we'd never know because it wasn't revealed)

Ok so
Daphne and Donna can be trusted (Unless someone else claims one of those roles but that'd be dumb because it'd be obvious one of them is evil :p)
So basically at this point, the janitor can't win. It's now just a matter of time more than anything

Ah okay! Tricky role. I guess if Daphne is going for Dan, I'll go for him too, so voting for Dan.
