Thomas Homestead 2

Estrella gasped as she held Erik in her arms, at a standstill. She was torn between two situations. She hated her father, but this was her brother.

He was warm, his eyes wide and open. They were ice blue, and she wondered what side of the family that had come from. Neither her father or Lissandra's eyes were like this.

She looked from Kale to her dad; she was unsure what to do.

((erk.. I gotta go...))

Tristan grinned slightly, and replied calmly, "Your mother and I graduated from Ravenclaw House together, back at Hogwarts England."

He noted the way that Estrella was holding Erik; at least, he had seemed to take her anger away for a moment.

Kale's eyebrows furrowed, this wasn't the answer he was expecting, nor the answer that he wanted to hear. He stood, at loss for words. She knows him? Kale thought to himself, his hace emotionless.

Estrella looked to Kale, holding Erik in her arms. She was so unsure of what to do. Did Nancy know anything, about Stark Manor or the fact of what kind of people her dad hung around with? If she did, she wasn't showing it.

She stood, wondering where this was all going to go, and distrusting her dad throughout all of it.

Nancy walked out of the kitchen & set the turkey on the dining room table, the kids were still standing by the door and she gave them a quizzical look, "What are you doing standing there still?" she asked. Her long blond hair billowed behind her as she strolled back into the kitchen, returning seconds later with potatos and green veggies. "Please, take a seat." Nancy called to the three kids, and looked to Tristan, "Dinner will be ready in a moment." she said with a smile, while walking back into the kitchen once more.

Estrella walked into the dining room, still holding her brother and taking a seat next to Kale. She was trying to separate herself from her father as much as possible, not talking at all. She made a face at Erik, who giggled happily. His hair was dark, although he didn't have much of it, and curly. She patted him on the head, realizing how cold her hands were as she touched warm skin. Erik babbled happily, speaking in a language that only he knew. As much as she didn't like her dad, she couldn't help loving her little brother. She was odd around him, however, as she had never had a sibling.

Kale nodded at his mother, convinced that she had no idea who Tristan really was, he took a seat at the table next to Estrella. Kale grinned at the baby, listening to the babbles that had no meaning coming from him. He sat in silence and let out a sigh, This can't really be happening... he thought, slouched in his chair.

Mindy followed Estrella, on her tip toes she tried to get a better glimpse of the baby. "Ouu! Can I pet the baby?!" she asked in a high pitched voice, jumping up and down.

"Yeah," Estrella laughed. Mindy's childlike antics were lightening to the situation, she had to admit. She held Erik down a little lower so that Mindy could touch him.

Mindy looked at the baby, her eyes sparkling. "It's so little!" she giggled, touching Eriks soft dark hair, she smiled her cheeky smile. Mindy looked at the baby's small hands and poked it, "Heehee, his hands are so tiny. I like the baby!" she announced loudly with a squeal, jumping up and down.

"I do too, Mindy," Estrella said quietly. She looked up to her father. "Where have you guys been staying?" She even surprised herself as she said it, but she was concerned about her brother. He had better not be raising his kid around scum.

"Oh, here and there," Tristan replied quietly, taking a seat across from Estrella at the table. He was wary of how tense the situation was, but did not wish to speak about it in public. "Don't worry, he's safe wherever he goes."

A little lie, but if it made her a little less angry, then so what?

"Oh," Estrella said, her face falling. She looked back to Erik. However, he appeared to be untainted and unharmed.

She turned to Kale, smiling weakly. She really had no idea what to do in this situation. She couldn't stand her dad being around, but she didn't want to cause problems for the Thomas family, either.

Kale looked down at the table. He didn't really have much to say, especially to Tristan. When Estrella gave him a hint of a smile, he returned the weak smile back to her. Kale wanted to tell his mother so badly what had happened at Stark Manor, but knew it would be a nuisance to her and he didn't want to worry her anymore than she already was about issues with the family and beyond. Kale looked at baby Erik craddled in Estrella's arms, he looked peaceful and healthy, Tristan seems to be doing his part on this one... he thought to himself, looking to Estrella.

Estrella smiled weakly back at Kale. The situation was a very tense one, and she felt bad that Kale had to be stuck in the middle of it.

She grinned, trying at cheering him up. Leaning over to him, she whispered, "Hey, you remember that story I told you the other day?" Her expression was mischievious. "The one that occurred while I was Mindy's age?"

Nancy walked back into the dining room with a pitcher of milk and pumpkin juice. She looked down at the table satisfied, everything seemed to be in the right place. Nancy could sense the tension in the room as she sat down, she looked at the four faces sitting at the table, none of them seemed very chipper at the moment and it made her high energy go down. Tarren was in a horrible mood and didn't come down for dinner. Nancy looked at Estrella and Kale, "So, you two..are you excited for school to start again?" she inquired, while helping Mindy get a piece of turkey from the center of the table.

Kale was helping himself to a glass of milk as Estrella whispered in his ear, he was in a mid drink when the vision of her dad getting hit in the 'no no zone' flashed through his head...all because of her. A fountain of milk sprayed out of his mouth and he snorted loudly, Kale looked at the others sitting around the table and laughed at the expressions even harder, he couldn't get an apology out.

Estrella roared in laughter as Kale sprayed milk all over the table, unable to control herself. She would have fallen on the floor if not for the fact that she was holding her brother, and clutched her stomach, feeling as if she would explode. She didn't care how crazy she looked at the moment; the joke had put Kale in a good mood, and that was what was needed of everyone.

"Too..funny.." she gasped between heaving laughter, grinning maniacally at Kale.

Having no idea what they were talking about, Tristan's expression was quizzical as they both broke out into laughter. For the time that they consumed laughing, it had to be pretty damn funny. He had managed to avoid the spray of milk across the table, luckily. He was wary of Erik in Estrella's arms, afraid that he would fall. But he was safe, nonetheless. He turned to Nancy. "Do you happen to have a high chair around?"

Nancy stared at Kale, her mouth gaped open, face icey cold and fire in her eyes, "Kale Walter Thomas!" she barked, while kicking his leg under the table, "Have I not taught you any table manners?! That was extremely rude!" Nancy's eyes were fixed on Kale.

She took a deep breath in to calm herself, she heard Tristan's question and got up quickly, "Oh my, I'm sorry, little Erik is so quiet I forgot completely." Nancy returned to the room with a high chair and set it up next to Tristan. "Is there anything that I can get for him?" she inquired, knowing that what she had made for dinner wasn't suitable for babies.

Estrella was taken aback by Mrs. Thomas' outburst, and suddenly stopped laughing, coughing as she did so. She looked over to Kale, amusement in her eyes nevertheless. That would be something to laugh about later, and she averted her gaze to her plate. The potatoes looked absolutely delicious.

"No, that'll be fine, I fed him before we left," Tristan explained, and walking around the table, he took Erik from Estrella, bringing him back to the high chair. Erik babbled happily, looking over the scene with wide eyes.

He took his seat, and commented happily, "This smells absolutely delicious, Nancy."

Kale continued to laugh quietly, even after the kick to the leg from Nancy. "Jeeze, ma! I'd rather get hit with the wooden bloody spoon!" he chucked. Kale looked at Estrella, his eyes with a twinkle, he leaned in and whispered, "You're good..." under his breath, with a goofy smile on his face.

Estrella giggled, surpressing a snort behind her hand, her eyes twinkling. "I know," she whispered back. "I knew it would put a smile on your face, I just didn't know it would be that dramatic!" She grinned mischieviously.
