The Bennett Household 2

Kale easily ignored what his friends had to say, he didn't know them nor did it matter what they thought. Luke obviously had his 'stories' jumbled up. Kale took a deep breath in, Luke and his friends didn't scare him, it was Estrella; he didn't want to worry her.

As Luke walked up to him with a cocky air about him, Kale wanted to whack him in the face right then and there. He didn't want to get into it with Estrella's cousin, not here not now. Kale's piercing blue eyes looked through Luke, his expression more calm than ever, "Look, are you always this stupid or are you making a special effort today?" he said to the boy standing before him.

The tensions over the past month had gotten to Luke's head, and to top it off, so had this kid. Something about the calm way in which he had inquired about Luke's intelligence sent him flying off the handle, and before he knew what he was doing, Luke had his arm reared back, and his fist suddenly flew forward, with a strength that he did not know he possessed. His anger was expelled as he swung at the kid, making him feel much better about himself.

When Luke punched Kale it took him off guard, he really was nuts.

Kale suddenly felt a rush of adrenaline rush through his veins, his heart began to beat rapidly, he jumped forward and bringing his fist back he swung repeatatively at Luke's face with the intention of beating him into a pulp; even though he knew that Estrella wouldn't be the least bit happy with it.

Luke let out a groan as one of Kale's blows hit him in the eye, and he could feel something a vessel probably, pop, and an anger boiled inside him that knew no bounds, even though his eye was going to swell shut. With an animalistic roar he barreled forward, his fists flying into the kid's stomach; he wasn't going to be beaten around by a thirteen year old. Especially in front of his friends.

Adrenaline pumped through his body as he attempted to squash the kid like an insect, even though everyone in the coffee shop was watching in amazement and disbelief.

Kale tumbled backwards as Luke came barreling toward him, losing his balance, he got back after a brief second. "What the ---- is your problem?" Kale cursed at him loudly, not caring about the looks that the customers in the shop gave them. Swinging forward once more he pushed Luke away from him, ready to throw more punches if needed.

"You're my ----in problem!" Luke snarled back, leaping forward with a closed fist, rage apparent in his face. However, his black eye was starting to swell, and he didn't hit with such force this time, knowing that the cops would be there any time soon if he didn't get out of there. He could see that he had given the other kid a black eye, and he waited to see what the kid would do to his retaliation.

Kale was boiling with anger, when he felt Luke's fist meet his eye he would have pulled out his wand and solved his problem, but knew that he would have the ministry on his case. A surge of pain swelled around his right eye and he could feel a splitting headache beginning to start. Kale pushed Luke away from him once more trying to get the kid off of him, he didn't like fighting. He tried to be the bigger person by walking away from this whole ordeal, it just wasn't worth it to him. Kale walked toward the door of the shop, he didn't want to get into trouble with muggle authority. Merlin, what is Estrella going to have to say about this?

Ignoring the murmurs throughout the shop, Luke walked swiftly out of the coffee shop, shoving Kale to the side, carrying his coat over his arm and punching the door open. He opened his car door, putting the key in the ignition, taking him a few tries in his rage, and he sat there in his anger, his eye swelling and hurting like a mother. But he still had to drive home with it.

Estrella nearly dropped her things as she came out of ragstock, still accompanied by Jessica. Her jaw dropped as she saw Kale with a black eye, and Luke in a similar situation, getting in his car. "What the hell happened?" she inquired worriedly, turning on Kale.

Kale saw Estrella walking toward him with the bubbly girl by her side, he scooted away a bit knowing that she wasn't going to be happy with this. "He was being a git, so I called him out on it." Kale said simply still fuming.

"What?" Estrella replied, still confused. "What the hell happened to you two? Did you get in a fight?" she asked, already knowing the answer. She moved towards the car, ready to blow out Luke's eardrums as she held her shopping bags.

"Yes, a fight." Kale repeated while feeling his black eye for moment, it wasn't his first black eye ever, Roger had accidentally given him one when they were rough housing years before. "I swear though, the reason why I hit back was soley for self defense." he cocked his head to the side watching he walk toward the car, feelingas if his head was going to split in half, the simplest things could easily give Kale headaches.

"Let's just go," Estrella said, shaking her head, not mad at Kale even though she was irritated. She got into the front seat of the car this time, and started tearing into Luke. "What the bloody hell was that for? Why do boys have to fight all the time! You all act like a bunch of doofus' trying to show how manly you are!" Her face was screwed up in irritation as she yelled at Luke, ranting on and on and on.

"I don't feel like explaining myself," Luke snapped back, although calmly, the tips of his ears flushing a red color. He waited for the Kale kid to get in the car so he could drive home. Sh1t, what is mom going to say?

Kale sat in the back seat, blocking out everything that she was yelling. He didn't want to get her angry, but right now she obviously showing signs of it. Kale quietly sat looking out the window, thinking about what had happened while twidding his thumbs.

"WHAT?" Estrella exclaimed, her face flushing a bright red, probably due to the teeny weeny bit of Irish heritage that she possessed. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU GOING TO TELL MAGGIE AND CARLISLE? THAT YOU GOT HIT WITH A BASEBALL?"

"actually, that doesn't sound like a bad idea," Luke replied, smirking and driving out of his parking spot, down the street and back towards the country. "Or, we could say that we were sledding and collided into each other. What mom and dad don't know don't hurt them. What do you think, Kale? I don't get in trouble, you don't get in trouble, it's all good." He had always been a shyster, but sometimes, it really paid off. He just didn't feel like being grounded.

"Sure." Kale said calmly but not the least bit friendly while drifting off into space. He didn't have a clue what sledding was but agreed anyway, making a mental note to ask Estrella when she was less fired ip.

"You think they're going to buy that BS?" Estrella snapped, crossing her arms over her chest and gazing out the window, trying to direct her fury at the lines on the road. Frankly, she was quite surprised that nothing was blowing up right in front of them. She said no more until they got home, her expression calmed down and blank by then.

"They'll have to," Luke said disconcertedly, pulling into the driveway after a long period of time, "Because we're not going to squeal about it, right, Estrella?"

Estrella rolled her eyes. "I guess not; but I still think fighting is stupid." She failed to mention the fight that she had gotten in with Bellatrix last year; but what Luke didn't know, didn't hurt him.

Not having any more to say, Luke parked the car near the barn, slamming the door behind him and wearing his black eye with pride, not wanting to look like a wuss, or walk with them, in any case. He strolled right through the door and into the kitchen, looking to see if anyone was around.

Kale got out of the car and closed the door behind him, his eye was still throbbing, but he didn't show it. Walking with Esrtella and Luke to the front door, he braced him self for her aunt and uncle to go bananas.

Margaret dismissed the kids as they walked in at first, but then she started as she saw large, black blotches on the eyes of both her Luke and Estrella's boyfriend. She dropped a plate, cracking to the floor. "What in the world happened?" she exclaimed, thinking that this didn't look good.

"Sledding accident," Luke lied, "We decided to go sledding at the high school and well-" he put his arm around Kale, as if they were friends, smiling deceptively at his mother, "We collided into each other."
