Heta Omega is organizing a talent show, and everyone is welcome! That's right, you don't have to be a member to paticipate. Heta Omega girls are allowed to compete as well as non-members, but members of Heta Omega can also a help set things up and help things run smoothly.
You can sign up with your character as a single person act, or work together with someone else to form a duo. Unfortunately, bigger groups aren't feasible right now. Duo acts are encouraged to be in close contact with one another, as they will both need to post close together for the talent show to run smoothly.
Here's how it will work:
We'll make a topic in the Great Hall for the talent show. We'll make a schedule of the order of the acts, and everyone gets 24 hours* to reply before we consider them a no-show and continue with the next one. The three judges are Amber Wilson, Evelyn Manning and Noemie Vanity. One or more of them will post between acts to comment on the act and to signal the next one can go.
*This time may change depending on how many people sign up.
So please only sign up if you think you will be able to post on time! This is also why two people together have to be more careful, as half an act is harder to explain away IC.
So Duo's: try to post around the same time to avoid going over the time limit.For each act, make sure to post once per character that is involved. So a single act should just be one post, and a duo act should be two.
There's three categories you can win a prize in.
- Best Solo Act
- Best Duo Act
- Best Outfit
The winner of each category will get a trophy in the trophy room
You can sign up with as many students as you want, but each OOC person can only win one prize to keep things fair. In order to be eligible for the Best Outfit prize, one should post a photo of their character in their outfit. It's also encouraged to add links to music your character is playing, or anything else relevant to the act.
While signing up, you shouldn't put your act down along with your name, keep it a surprise! (But if you're unsure if something is allowed, feel free to ask us) and if you're a duo, please put both names on the same line.
Sign ups open now and close on 26 August, by then we'll make a schedule and open the topic and let you guys know the exact time limit you have for each act. We will try to nudge everyone when it's their turn, but depending on how many people there are it might not be feasible.
Important: we have two weeks to do the actual talent show, which means that if too many people sign up we may have to close sign-ups early so there is enough time for everyone. So please consider carefully before signing up too many students!
If sign ups are high, we may but a cap in place so we can give every act enough time.
