Hufflepuff Practice

Elliot flinched when he saw movement from the corner of his eye, expecting a bludger. He relaxed when he realized it was Lauren, giving her a small smile and wave as he continued scanning the pitch. Having other players tended to make him nervous, but he was already so nervous this practice that the reassurance of Lauren near by was a welcome change.

The game was still moving very slowly, and Analei made a mental note of things that she had picked up on so far to help train. She was no way an expert in Quidditch, but she was sure she'd be able to get some help from someone. Analei hit another bludger that came her way, letting out a small groan when it didn't hit anyone. She surely needed lots of practice too.

Amy caught the Quaffle when it came back into play at Abian's shot got caught by the new keeper. She gave the boy a smile, and flew off with the Quaffle under her arm. Keeping a look out for other players, she took her time flying around, making sure she has enough practice securely holding the Quaffle while flying.

Ilija didn’t want to get too carried away with himself just because he’d saved one shot, and was still very much alert when Amy grabbed the Quaffle, watching her every move in case she tried to score.

Elliot was surprised to find himself getting impatient. While playing seeker wasn't a relaxing position, Elliot could usually settle down and calmly search. It wasn't the most exciting strategy, but he liked to think it worked well for him. Today though, after Arvel's version of a captain's speech, Elliot was feeling the added pressure to perform well, and the snitch continuing to evade him made Elliot more agitated than usual. Frustrated, he changed direction suddenly, dropping his careful search pattern to fly randomly across the pitch.

Aonghas followed behind Amy as she caught the ball that was thrown back out. He flew not too far behind her in case she wanted to pass the ball to him. Or incase she wanted some help.

Lauren flew still with Elliot and he noticed her smiling at her. Lauren was a bit suprised she got that but looked at him for a moment before searching out for bludgers. But not much luck yet.

Amy felt someone following behind her and slowed her speed down slightly to pass the Quaffle to them. She liked practicing passing with get team mates, seeing how hard she needed to throw it and if they caught it. She followed behind the other player, just in case they needed help.

Again Elliot thought he saw movement out of the corner of his eye, turning his head in time to see something zip past his head. As soon as Elliot had managed to turn around to pursue the snitch though, it had vanished, and he felt his shoulders slump in defeat.

Analei continued to fly around the pitch, making sure that the bludgers didn't come into contact with her team.

Lauren was really pissed of. Why did she not hit anything! She wanted to hit something badly otherwise she would stop. The blonde almost gave it up but than a bludger was close she gave it all she got and managed to hit it! She screamed as she hit it. A bit of happiness but also smashing her anger away. The bludger flew into the direction of the captain snd fellow beater Analei.

Elliot flinched at the sound of a yell, pausing his hunt to see Lauren behind him knock a bludger away with a shout. It was a relief that the bludger was heading toward Analei and not him, but Elliot still felt a lot of sympathy. He'd only managed to be hit once by a bludger, but it wasn't something he was looking forward to revisiting any time soon.

Analei was gearing to hit a bludger, when all of a sudden, she felt a whack on her ribs. She winced, just managing to hold in the cry of pain. She gave Lauren a weak thumbs up, glad that at least one of them had been able to hit someone.

Elliot would be the first to admit he was off his game today. His search patterns were growing a bit erratic and Elliot sighed in frustration, rolling his shoulder when nothing seemed to produce results on where the snitch had gotten to.

Lauren continued her search for bludgers. She saw Analei giving her a thumbs up but ofcourse a bludger hurt. Not that Lauren didn't knew what hurt was. A bludger was nothing for her, she figured. But ofcourse she never had experianced yet. But she had an idea of how it felt.

Analei continued to fly around the pitch, trying to breathe carefully while her ribs still ached.

Elliot felt his heart leap when he finally caught sight of the snitch, twisting on his broom in hot pursuit. Reaching out, Elliot's fingers barely brushed against the tips of its wings before the snitch zipped away, putting on another burst of speed. Trying not to get discouraged, Elliot shot after it in hot pursuit.

Abian saw Amy was passing the quaffle to Aonghas, but managed to swoop in and grab it for himself. He figured those kind of moves needed to be practiced too. With it under his arm, he made his way to the hoops quickly. He winced when he spotted Analei be hit by a beater, but didn't pause to check up on her. He knew she was tough.

Arvel winced in sympathy as Analei caught a bludger in the ribs. He hoped Lauren wasn't going to take out her out entirely; they needed both beaters in full health to stand a chance at winning the next match. Shaking his head, he flew after Abian.

Ilija winced when Analai found herself in contact with a bludger. At one benefit of being keeper was that he only had to worry about stray bludgers hitting him; he didn't think anyone would actually aim for someone so insignificant.

Analei was impressed with Abian swooping in to steal the pass. Those were definitely the type of tactics they were going to have to be able to perform if they wanted to win. It wasn't like it was a dirty move - it was a smart one.

There was a flurry of action further down the pitch, but Elliot tried to keep his attention on the glimmer of the snitch, hoping to close the gap as the snitch twisted this way and that. It was hard to predict its movements and Elliot nearly lost it multiple times as it darted its way further ahead of him. Still out of his reach, Elliot shot further across the pitch after it.

Analei couldn't believe they hadn't scored yet; was it because their keeper was too good? She knew what it was like to be chaser and not score; it was just as frustrating as being a beater and not hitting anyone.

Ilija liked to think that they hadn’t scored yet because he was too good, but he was probably just having a case of beginners luck and things were definitely going to get harder.

Elliot was still trying to stay close on the snitch's tail when it suddenly shot to the right. He'd been anticipating it to move left and had to spend a few agonizing seconds right his course to follow it. By the time Elliot had turned his broom though, the snitch had darted somewhere out of sight. Elliot spent a few desperate moments trying to relocate it before sighing and slowly beginning his search again.
