Hufflepuff Practice Y39/S2

Jordie flew back around, doing his best to throw the quaffle. His shoulders slumped and he cursed as Linden caught his throw- again. Jordie let out a frustrated sigh, tangling his hands in his hair a moment before shooting off to take a few laps and work off his frustration.

René was still following the bludger, trying to see if he could get a good angle to take a swing, though none presented itself. It was hard staying patient to wait for a good shot and René itched to just take a swing and try his luck.

Blair was glad to hear all the praises when she scored and she also managed to loudly cheer for Lucas when he caught the snitch. Twice. Hopefully he will be this good on their game too. Tho, Blair caught the quaffle once it was back in the game trying to see whether she got a good angle for a shot or for a passing.

Lucas ignored Connor, letting the snitch go so he could look for it again.

Feeling impatient, René tailed after the bludger. They'd moved closer to the other players and he figured he wasn't going to get a better chance to hit someone. He angled his bat, trying to send the bludger Connor's way, but the shot didn't line up right, the bludger instead shooting off and hitting @Amy Jewel instead.

Connor watched Rene hit Amy, and the bludger was close enough to go after it himself. He shot off at a tear, swinging his bat hard and aiming for Blair, though yet again the ball flew wide of his target and he groaned in frustration.

René lingered some, feeling bad for hitting Amy. He knew she was captain and the oldest on the team but it still felt bad and he didn't move on until it seemed certain she was fine.

Connor cursed at himself quietly under his breath, trying to get it together. He hadn't played so badly since he was a second year, and he didn't like what this could mean for the match against Gryffindor.

René shifted on his broom, legs and arms already tired after not flying all break. He tried to shake out his arms, resuming his search for a bludger.

Amy hung back while Blair caught the quaffle, not looking for the budget bludger that flew into her side. She winced, but have Rene a thumbs up for the shot.

René had just caught up to one of the bludgers, ready to take a swing at it when it shot away again. He nearly spun off his broom as his bat connected with nothing, grateful for the strap around his wrist to stop him from dropping it as he clung to his broom to regain his balance.

Connor started flying a lap of the pitch, hoping to get a better view of his teammates, and maybe a better angle on one of the bludgers.

Getting his balance back, René resisted the urge to copy what Connor was doing, deciding to go to the other end of the pitch from their co-captain, even if he did keep an eye on what the other beater was doing still.

René hovered near the back half the pitch, watching the bludgers for a moment. He was usually so focused on hitting them it was strange to see how they darted around. They really did seem to have a mind of their own and he wondered if they'd just hit the players for him if he left them to their own devices.

Blair noticed that Amy was following and passed the quaffle to her.
@Amy Jewel

Amy grinned at Blair as she passed the quaffle, continuing to fly on, quaffle in hand.

René had been keeping an eye on the bludgers, moving forward when he realized he could intercept one and grinned as he was able to knock it straight over to @Connor Holland. Maybe this patience thing could kinda work out.

Lucas was glad he hadn't been hit by a bludger so far. He winced a bit when he saw Connor get hit, but quickly turned away and pretended he hadn't seen it.

With a surge of confidence, René shot forward, moving to hit the other bludger towards Tilly. He hadn't spent the time trying to aim this one though and hissed through his teeth in sympathy as it shot straight into @Linden Cullen instead.

Not seeing any other chasers, Amy flew towards the hoops and threw the quaffle, pleased when it went through again.

Feeling a little flustered, René wasn't quite ready when the other bludger looped back around towards him, swinging last minute mostly to just fend it off, sending it veering into @Jordan Harris. "Sorry, Jordie!" He called, wiping some sweat away under the sudden barrage of bludgers.

Amy x1
Connor x1
Linden x1
Jordan x 1

Circling the pitch, Connor was paying too much attention to the chasers and not enough to the beaters. He didn't register the bludger coming towards him until it was too late to bat it away, crying out in pain. He gritted his teeth and blinked back tears, giving Rene a thumbs up. "GOOD SHOT!" He called out, voice only wobbling a little bit.

Even if René felt a little bad that his bludger hit had connected with Connor, he was still pleased to hear their captains encouragement, grinning a little to himself as he tried to switch back into practicing his aim instead of just hitting bludgers wildly.

Jordie was startled as a bludger hit him out of nowhere, crying out and clutching at his side for a moment. He growled, deciding he needed to try and make another goal to get his mind of his aching ribs. He shot out and grabbed the quaffle, starting around again.

Getting some space again, René had a much better angle on the bludger as it swooped past, feeling immense satisfaction as hit bat connected. For a second, he thought it was going to miss, but the bludger swerved just in time to hit @Lucas Fletcher

Amy x1
Connor x1
Linden x1
Lucas x1
Jordan x 1
