Hufflepuff Practice Y39/S2

Lucas had mostly been focused on getting away from Connor, but to his surprise, he actually spotted the snitch hovering nearby. He zoomed forward and grabbed it, holding it up. "Easy!" He called with a laugh. If only it would be this simple when they played against Gryffindor.

René slowed down when he saw Lucas shoot past, awed to see he already had the snitch. He gave Lucas a whoop, hoping this might mean Hufflepuff were going to be the new school champions soon.

Lucas grinned, then let go of the snitch and let it disappear before trying to find it again.

Trying to take cues from Lucas, René took off after one of the bludgers, annoyed as it out paced him with a sharp turn that he fumbled to follow.

Amy jumped a little when Connor spoke to Jordie, but understood where he was coming from. Not seeing anyone, she flew up to the hoops and threw the quaffle, grinning as it went through. Seeing Lucas had caught the snitch, she called out, "Good job, Lucas!"

René lost more ground on the bludger, unable to catch up to get a good hit, slowing down, he turned to see if he could spot the other one, ducking around some of the chasers to get a better view.

Advice given Connor flew on, gripping his bat tightly as he looked for a good opening to make a shot.

René was starting to wonder if the secret wasn't to chase down the bludgers, but let them come to him to hit. He slowed down, taking stock of the field, though he felt a bit stupid to realize there were no bludgers nearby at all.

Linden watched as Lucas took a grasp of the snitch. wall done lucaaa she called stopping short as the quaffle sales right past him. and well done amy he called kicking himself for being distracted. That wouldn’t do in the match against gryffindor. Though to be fair there wouldn’t be anyone throwing quaffle after Lucas caught the snitch. come in Jordie. Let’s see what you got he called throwing the ball back into play in the general direction of the youngest chaser.

@Jordan Harris

Connor flew towards one of the bludgers and swung, though again his hit was all muscle and no finesse. He groaned at himself in frustration as the ball flew wide of his teammates, struggling to pull himself together.

René ducked again when Connor hit one of the bludgers, flushing some when he realized it wasn't even close to hitting him. He adjusted his grip on his bat, deciding waiting for the bludgers wasn't working either and moving on.

Amy hung back, giving Jordie a chance to grab the quaffle.

Jordie ducked his head as Connor scolded him, following Amy back to the hoops. His eyes widened as Linden called out to him, shooting forward to catch the quaffle. He started moving, nervous. Would he even be able to score? He tried to relax as he looped around.

René finally rounded on one of the bludges, raising his bat to swing. He knew he should listen to Connor and try to aim it, but it was too tempting to just swing as hard as he could. The hit connected, but René sighed as it sailed harmlessly across the pitch.

Jordie made his way back around the pitch, trying to focus. He came up to Linden and threw the ball, hard, only to groan in frustration as it was caught. Of course he didn't make it. He ran a hand through his hair.

René shook out his arm, trying not to let on that he was already feeling tired as he urged his broom forward after the bludger.

Lucas was a bit disappointed by the lack of reaction from Connor, but he shot Amy a smile. He kept searching for a while and then spotted the snitch again. Beaming, he flew over and grabbed it. With a cheer, he held it up again.

Embarrassed now, Jordie grabbed the quaffle as it was thrown back into play. He was determined now, his jaw set as he started around again.

Linden watched as Jordie caught the quaffle and watched as he did a lap of the pitch and went to score. He managed to catch it good try Jordie. See if you can put a little more power Into the throw next time he called before throwing it back into the game. Pleased to see the third year catch it for another shot.

René couldn't believe Lucas had the snitch again already, letting out a low whistle as he circled past Lucas on the pitch.

Jordie made it back around, trying to put more force in his throw like Linden had said. His jaw clenched and his heart sank as the boy caught it with ease. His shoulders slumped just a bit and his cheeks burned. He lowered his eyes, furious with himself. What was wrong with him?

Linden looked up as the chasers circled and saw that Lucas was holding the snitch again woo lucas he called a slight flush in his cheek as he cheered his roommate that he would blame in the cool air or exertion of playing. He turned his attention back to the game as the chasers came towards him. He just about managed to save Jordie a shot but fumbled with it and almost let it fall through much better he called before throwing it back into the game. Wondering who would take it next.

He knew it wasn't very captainly, trying to ignore Lucas and focus on the other players, but he figured it was the best way to handle their... situation. But he couldn't really rightly ignore it when Lucas caught the snitch for a second time, hoping his smile and thumbs up didn't look as feeble as they felt. "GOOD JOB!"

Not seeing either of the others, Jordie caught the quaffle again. He couldn't be that bad, could he? He was sure to get it this time. He started around again.

Wanting to do well too, René kicked himself back into gear, tailing after one of the bludgers but forcing himself not to swing yet; he needed to line up a shot.
