Even though he knew it wasn't really helpful for practice, Elliot had hoped he'd not given the snitch too much of a headstart, but turning to scan the pitch revealed he'd definitely lost sight of it again. Reminding himself how much better it would be to sharpen his seeking skills, Elliot started circling the pitch, keeping his eyes peeled.

The sun was still hot overhead and Elliot had to wipe the sweat away from his forehead as he continued to scan the pitch.

Analei whacked a bludger near her towards Elliot, who seemed to have recovered from the first one, but the quaffle went off course, and she frowned, looking around to see how the rest of the players were getting on.

Eye on the sky, Elliot flinched when he heard a bludger hurtling towards him, flinching and trying to dodge out of the way. It was a relief when it sailed past him, though he wondered whether his dodge had been unnecessary.

Keeping an eye on the bludger as it continued across the pitch, Elliot turned his broom, deciding he'd try resuming his search in a less bludger-y part of the pitch.

Abian flew to the hoops with the quaffle and tried to score again, but his shot went wide. He sighed, then turned around to try again later.

Connor just couldn't get a break, groaning in frustration as he swung for a bludger and missed the ball entirely, bat flying uselessly through thin air.

The practice seemed to be slowing down, but Analei wanted to keep it going for a little bit longer before they called it quits.

ooc: practice will close in 48 hours to make way for the game!

Still working on keeping his attention split between searching for the snitch while still keeping an eye on the rest of the game (and the bludgers), Elliot did his best to focus on his practiced search pattern. It was slower than randomly searching, but he believed it yielded results if he stayed on task.

Trying to ignore the hot sun, Elliot kept his eyes peeled, scanning up and down the pitch as he flew.

With a bludger flying towards her, Analei hit it towards @Connor Holland, watching as it hit, hoping he was going to be okay.

Connor realised much too late that there was a bludger flying towards him. He swung his bat quickly, trying to hit it out of the way, but his swing was much too early and the ball struck him in the bicep. Connor cried out, quickly brushing away the tears that had sprung to his eyes. That hurt a lot more than being tackled in rugby, and he knew he would have a bruise later. Taking a few breaths to collect himself, he blinked away the last of his tears and returned to the direction he had been flying.

Flinching again at the sound of a beaters bat connecting with a bludger, Elliot frowned at himself. He knew it was important he stayed alert, but he hated being so skittish while he was out on the pitch.

Analei zoomed in front of Ilija, whacking the speeding bludger away from him.

Connor rubbed his aching arm as he flew on, hoping he would be able to land another hit before practice was over.

Keeping a close eye on the beaters, Elliot flinched back again when he saw movement dart in front of him. He heart sped up when he realized it was the snitch this time, immediately taking off the pitch after it. It was hard to keep up, the snitch rapidly changing directions, but Elliot had reacted quickly after it had passed him, pleased when he was able to cut it off on a tight corner a few times. His hands were aching where they gripped his broom, but he grinned as he was able to pull in front of the snitch, snagging it out of the air and holding it up again in victory.

Connor looked over as Elliot stopped, cheering as he realised the older boy had caught the snitch. They had to stand a great chance in their next match, he was doing really well.

Wiping some sweat off his forehead, Elliot released the snitch, letting it zip away and smiling when he heard Connor give him a cheer. Hopefully he could keep this up for their next game.

Connor flew after another bludger and swung, hoping to make a hit. He sighed in frustration as the ball went off in a different direction than he had aimed, watching it fly harmlessly through the air.

Taking a moment to let the snitch gain some distance, Elliot did his best not to try and watch it out of the corner of his eye as he stretched out his sore arm from the earlier bludger hit. It didn't matter much anyway, since after a moment he'd completely lost sight of it regardless. Rolling his shoulders, Elliot flew up higher above the pitch, getting a good view before resuming searching.

Amy caught the Quaffle as it was thrown back into play. She flew around the pitch, hoping that this time she could score.

He'd only been lingering over the game for a short moment before he spotted the snitch moving about again. Elliot wondered if maybe he should have given it a bigger headstart, but he knew he needed to practice actually catching the snitch too after their last game, not just finding it. Shooting off after it, Elliot tailed the snitch, staying on top of it until it was within his reach. Snagging it out of the air again, Elliot settled back on his broom, slowing down and smiling down at his closed fist.

Connor's eyes widened as he saw Elliot catch the snitch again, and he stared in awe. How were they not going to be winning the cup this year? Elliot had to be the best seeker in the school.

Analei cheered for Elliot as he caught the snitch a couple more times. He really was the best!

Ducking his head when Analei cheered again, Elliot released the snitch, trying not to let it go to his head. He'd done well in their practice before their last game too and they'd all seen how that had turned out.
