Analei wanted to win at least one game this year, so as soon as the semester was back, Analei called a practice. It was a hot December day, and though it was better than rain, the sun was sharp, which she knew could make it difficult for seeking. Analei headed to the pitch early and started getting set up, waiting for the rest of the team to arrive.

OOCOut of Character:
Arrivals just for now ^_^

@Ilija Olaf @Lauren Davenport @Amy Jewel @Tiziano Edogawa @Elliot Briar @Abian Hunter @Corey Edogawa @Connor Holland

Lauren got word of another practice, it wasn't strange because they wanted to win one game as well. Lauren hoped they would. The blonde made her way to the Quidditch pitch and noticed she was one of the first. She gave Analei an short smile and waited for the rest of the team. She tried to open up a bit, but find it hard to find words what to say and how to act. So just waiting for the practice to begin was the best.

It had good to be back home for the holiday break after being in New Zealand for so long, but it did make getting back into school that much more of a shock. Elliot felt like he was still on holiday mode as he made his way down to the pitch, though being back in the Summer heat compared to the chill he'd had over the break in the States helped snap him back to reality some. Elliot knew they'd have little time to practice before their first game and was ready to put in the effort it meant Hufflepuff might be able to squeeze a second place victory again this year. "Hey guys," He said to Analei at the gathered team as he arrived, covering his eyes from the sun overhead and squinting at the pitch speculatively as they got warmed up.

As scary as it was at times, Connor was glad, he thought, that he had decided to sign up for Quidditch. He had missed being part of a team for his first couple of years at Hogwarts, and it felt good to get back to it, returning to sports and being part of a unit all working together. So he was excited when the captain called an early practice ahead of their upcoming match, bat and broom in hand as he joined his teammates on the pitch.

Amy was looking forward to today's practice, and was pleased by the weather. She hoped that the sun wasn't worse in the air, covering her eyes as she ran down to the pitch. It was better than rain though, she thought back to their last practice. Hopefully they would have a good run today, and be able to win at least one game this year. She smiled to those who were already there, trying to let her eyes get used to the brightness.

Analei wanted to get started soon, and she smiled in greeting to the others that arrived. "Alright, we might as well just get started now, and work on perfecting our skills for our next match. It's coming up soon, but I know you guys have it in you, so go hard and do your best. Let's go!" She called, taking to the air, looking for a bludger to hit.

OOC- Practice is now open!

Abian was glad for a practice, as he really wanted to win the next game. He rushed over to the pitch and saw that most of the team had already gathered there. He shot the captains a quick grin, then waved at a few of the other players. Once practice started, Abian flew into the air and grabbed the quaffle, tucking it under his arm.

It was good to be back in the air after the holiday break and Elliot nodded as Analei spoke the team before starting their practice game. Flying up over where the chasers were grabbing for the quaffle, Elliot began patiently scanning the pitch.

Analei spotted a bludger and whacked it as hard as she could, frowning when it went wide and didn't hit anyone. It was her final year, she really should be better at this by now.

While Elliot much preferred not having to practice much in the rain like they had earlier in the year, the bright sun was hot, the Summer still well in progress in New Zealand. Scanning the pitch, he tried not to squint too much, keeping his eyes peeled as he ignored the sweat starting to form on his back in the sun.

Connor kicked off when Analei started the practice, holding onto his broom with a cheerful laugh as he shot towards a bludger. He swung his bat and struck, watching the ball go flying. It was actually a shock when he managed to hit the person he had been aiming for, almost without thinking. "SORRY!" Connor called out to Elliot after he watched the bludger hit the boy, wincing softly. He hoped it hadn't hurt too much.
@Elliot Briar

Elliot was still trying to get his fully in the game, finding it easy to zone out in the warm sun. He hoped that was his excuse for not paying enough attention to the bludgers until one hit him, causing him to jerk sharply to the side as it collided with him, causing Elliot to wince and curse under his breath. He held up a hand to sheepishly signal to Connor he was okay, more impressed that younger beater had managed a hit so early.

Amy flew up into the air when practice began and followed behind Abian in case he needed a hand. The sun was a little difficult to get used to, and it was hard to see when it suddenly got in your eyes, but she tried to ignore it.

Analei cheered when Connor hit Elliot. Poor Elliot was always going to be the target, but she was proud of Connor for hitting someone.

Rotating his shoulder some to try and work out the pain from the hit, Elliot tried to pull his focus back on looking for the snitch. Though this time reminding himself to keep an eye out for incoming bludgers again. The last thing he wanted in their match with Ravenclaw was a repeat of how the previous game had ended.

Connor was relieved when Elliot signalled that he was okay, gripping his bat tight and circling around, taking a moment to study where the bludgers were and see if there was an opening to make another shot on someone.

The ache from the bludger hit was still distracting, but Elliot tried to keep his focus on the pitch and game moving around him. It was hard to split his attention between hunting the snitch and keeping an eye out for other hazards, but he was learning more and more how important staying aware of everything was these days.

Analei took another swing at a bludger, scowling as it went wide again.

Connor watched Analei's shot miss and flew after the bludger, hoping he could redirect it at a player. He swung and hit the ball, but his own shot missed the rest of the players as well.

Elliot turned his head when he heard the sounds of bludgers being hit, relieved to not see any heading in his immediate direction. Shifting back to resume his usual scan of the pitch though, Elliot spotted a likely spec of movement near the goal area and shot his broom forward, hoping he'd seen the snitch and could catch up to it.

Analei gave Connor a thumbs up when he whacked her bludger as well, he was really good. She tried to split her focus between hitting bludgers and watching the team so she could give them feedback

Reaching the spot he'd seen the movement, Elliot swiveled, searching hurriedly for any more glimpses of the snitch, he flew up a bit higher, hoping the height would make any more movement more obvious, but it seemed the snitch had eluded him.

Connor felt bad about his hit not landing, surprised when Analei gave him a thumbs up. He grinned, pleased to have impressed the team captain, and threw himself back into the game, determined to make his next hit a good one.

Shaking his head in disappointment, Elliot flew up a bit higher again, trying to avoid the other players near the hoops and continued scanning the pitch. for any sign of movement.

Abian flew up to the hoops with the quaffle, grinning eagerly as he tried his first shot. But it was blocked, which wiped the grin off his face. Well, he had to try harder.
