Finishing up Y49
We are basically done with Y49, but there's still a little bit of team to finish up threads. Make sure to post in the End of Year Feast or Graduation before it's too late!
Y50 Calendar
The calendar for Y50 is up and available to look over. We highly encourage you to not wait to apply for an event to happen during 2nd semester, as there is so much time for things to happen during 1st semester.
Sorting
If you haven't noticed, it's Sorting time! You can read more about it here, but if you've been questioning whether to sort (or transfer) just one more, I say do it!
Shopping for Supplies
Once you've been sorted or if you're a returning student, don't forget to shop for supplies. Take a look at what books you might need for a class, and make sure you have them. It's a great way to roleplay with the shops and spend those galleons.
Quidditch Tryouts
All the Quidditch tryouts have been posted so don't forget to tryout if you have a 2nd year or above (or you can always create a first year thread where they watch tryouts!). Here they are:
Hiring Professors
We are hiring quite a few professors right now. Applications will close midweek - if you're interested, there is no time to wait! If you've been interested in Defence Against the Dark Arts 1-4, Divination 3-4, Ancient Runes 3-4, Muggle Studies 5-7, Potions 1-4, or History of Magic 5-7 [temp 1 yr], head over here!
Quidditch Guests
We are again looking for applications for the group 'Quidditch Guests' to stack on for individuals who will be attending HNZ Quidditch games. Anyone approved to the group will have access for 1 IC year so a 'season pass.' If you'd like to gain access to attend school Quidditch games, please submit by PM to both Emzies and Cyndi with answers to the following questions:
Please note that muggles, other school students, and anyone who is considered 'wanted' by Aurors and/or Magical Law Enforcement are not eligible to apply. Scitorari, anyone who has served time at Azkaban, or any character with a pending criminal case will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. As this is not an exhaustive list, if you are in doubt, you can always apply and add any necessary information to question 3.
Depending on the volume of responses, we may place a cap on the number of requests that we approve so if you submit multiple requests in 1 PM, please note which are your priorities.
As this is a new group that we are testing, we will be focusing on what activity looks like in deciding whether to continue, expand or make additional changes to who is able to and how access is provided. So, we encourage you to consider if you will have time to post in games ahead of applying.
Applications will be accepted beginning now and will close as the semester begins.

September/October Book Club
A new book for a new season - the September/October book club has chosen their new book - The Honey Witch - and you can still get the book and join them (as September has only just started). Read more about Book Club here.
