Welcome to Mystery Pic! :woot:​

What is Mystery Pic, you ask? It's a treasure hunt with a twist! Every 24 hours, a new image will be posted. All you have to do is guess where on the site the image came from.

Sounds easy, right? Sadly, there's a catch - the image will be zoomed in so that only 12x12 pixels are visible!

Correct Answer: The Hourglass on the Front Page​

How we'll play:
  • A new image will be posted every 24 hours (you'll be notified so you can't miss it!) for a total of seven images.
  • PM your guess for each image to Monty Pendleton.
  • Correct guesses made within 24 hours of a new image being posted will earn 5 points.
  • After 24 hours has elapsed, the picture will zoom out to reveal 20x20 pixels, and correct guesses made until the end of the game will earn 3 points.
  • Everyone only gets one guess per image and your first answer is final! This means that if you've already made a guess for the 12x12 zoom, you won't be able to submit a second guess for the 20x20 zoom of the same image.

Additional notes:
  • You don't have to give too much detail - 'The HNZ hourglass' or 'The hourglass next to the house points' would both be completely valid answers. 'The fifty-third link from the left on the chain of the hourglass at the bottom of the front page' is unnecessary!
  • None of the images will come from avatars, signatures, buttons, or the OOC section.
  • You can chat in this thread if you'd like to, but no giving each other hints!

Prize

The top 3 players with the most points at the end of the game will receive a fancy prize to adorn their signature! What could it beee?!? Play to find out! :teehee:


Signups

Sign-ups are open now and will close in one week, on the 6th May at 12:00 GMT. You should sign up with the account on which you'd like to receive the notifications. If you forget to sign up, you can still play for fun, but you won't win any prizes! :(

goodness todays is so much harder than yesterdays.
I don't know if you can answer.but
so the picture can be anywhere other than sigs, Avi's and the OOC section? so could it technically be a random owl from the owl emporium or a picture diagram used in Runes 4.3?

Hehe!

You're correct that the images can come from anywhere else on the site. But they won't be unfairly hard to find and most of them will be much easier to identify once they zoom out to 20x20.

Also, when I say that images won't come from the OOC section, I specifically mean this area of the board and not all OOC posts ever!
 
So, are you just replacing the images with the zoomed out ones in the same post? Sorry if you already answered this in the original post. D:

I am!! No worries, I don't think I said how I was doing it!

You can continue to guess on previous rounds until the end of the game (but still only one guess per round) ^_^
 
Just to add a little clarification in case you missed it - you can submit guesses for previous rounds until the end of the game, if you haven't already! But your first guess for each round will be your final answer.
