Y44 Club Fair

Kiara wasn't sure if she should've done anything for the club fair, but she was fairly confident Rosie had it covered. Otherwise she was sure she would've told her if she had needed to bring or do anything. Still, she was curious to see if any of the new students would be interested in joining. She looked around at the other club tables when she entered the courtyard before heading over to join Rosie at the Wild Patch table with a smile.

Friday signed her name after Vanity did and gave the older girl a smile. "Thank you," she turned and glanced around at the other clubs. "Had you settled on signing up for anything else?" Friday asked, she knew they'd disagreed on the SDA, but perhaps there was something else of interesting, to either her or Vanity. "Did you see the history club outside the hall? Imagine wanting to learn more history,"
@Vanity Mettlestone

Celia smiled as the Ravenclaw thanked her. It was rare to find a first year with manners. A Gryffindor (@Teddy Pirrip) approached her next, and Celia wondered if all the first years she met today would be as excitable as the first two. It would be a long year if that was the case. "Sure, go ahead," she told the boy, handing him the quill.

The next person (@Amortentia Layton-King) to stop by was a Gryffindor who seemed to be incapable of walking like a normal person. Celia wondered why Professor Carter had thought it a good idea to ply a bunch of eleven year olds with candy and sugary snacks. Then again, she had a jar of chocolate wands at her own table, so maybe she couldn't talk. "The Student Defence Association," Celia answered. "We host a dueling tournament every year, so a lot of meetings are centered on dueling. But we also do other defence-related activities. It's a good chance to learn extra spells and jinxes since there's a lot the professors don't teach in class."

Gemma wanted to make this year at Hogwarts her year. She had not joined any clubs in the first year, but that was going to change this year. She had decided that she wanted to join at least one club. Maybe more if she found them interesting. She did love a chance to be social. She entered the courtyard, surprised at how many club stands there were. They were all decorated differently too. There was certainly a lot to choose from. Gemma made her way around the courtyard, looking at all the booths. She stopped when she noticed a school paper. Gemma was surprised this caught her attention. She wasn't much for writing. She hated taking notes, but she did remember that this paper had a fashion section. She could easily do that or something of the sort.

Gemma approached the two club leaders at their stand. "I'd like to sign up for the Hogwarts Monthly" she said with a bright smile. She had read the fashion portion before in the last year and she knew she could write it even better! She just needed to be allowed in the club first. She hoped she didn't have to write an example beforehand to gain admission.

(@Aaliyah Chun and @Giulia Alcott)

Giulia was still reeling a little at her new position. She had only joined the Monthly as a way to practice her English, and she definitely didn't feel qualified to be editing a paper in her second language. But here she was for better or worse, and she was determined to make the best of this. She tried not to let her nerves and discomfort show on her face as she entered the fair and set up their table, a few past issues of the Monthly on display for any prospective new members to get an idea for their work with. That done, there was nothing to do but wait and try very hard not to be sick.

As it happened, she didn't have to wait all that long. Giulia did her best to plaster what she hoped was an encouraging smile on her face as a girl approached them, and tried not to cringe as her accent gave away her clunky English. She was sure this was going to put people off, but it wasn't like she could just become perfect at English overnight. "Of course, please just sign your name on this form here." She said with a small nervous creak, handing the girl a signup form.

sky was running late. she could have sworn she had had another hour until the club fair was meant to start. and she had until... well as she crossed the court years to collect the art supplies, it was clear that it was already in full swing. She hurried across, hoping she wouldn't be noticed and quickly grabbed what she needed. glad that she had gotten at least somewhat organised yesterday.
she dropped a couple of tiles as she crossed the courtyard and managed to get everything else as a pile on the table before she went back to collect them, repairing them with a charm before she reached the table. she waved at Renata, Giulia, and Eugene before starting to unpack her things. the had only got a couple of items down on the table when a girl came up to her and asked if she could sign up. "oh, umm, sure. let me just" she said rummaging in the box for her parchment and some coloured pencils. "just put your name house and year on here" she said passing them to the girl. hoping that she didnt come across as too flustered.

OOCOut of Character:
Sorry I am a little late to the party. please feel free to speak to Sky and tag @Niamh Eriksen for anything conglomerated arts club related.

Lucy signed her name down for the Wild Patch Club then turned her attention to the second club she was interested in. Lucy approached the Conglomerated Arts stall with interest. "Hi, I'd like to sign up too, please," Lucy said, stopping next to the other first year.

Toby had considered not going to the club fair after seeing what clubs this stupid school actually had on offer. They all sounded incredibly lame and a waste of his time. Well, he could see some opportunities, though nothing to get excited about. In the end, he showed up for just two clubs, wasting no time in striding across the room. "I'm signing up," he announced to the boy in charge of the brotherhood. Toby had decided it might be a good networking opportunity, and if it wasn't, he could always pull back his membership and stop showing up.

@Jingyi Huang

Jingyi did happen to notice how the brotherhood wasn't getting too much attention, but he supposed that was fine. And some boys did eventually come over, Jingyi just shrugging a shoulder at them as he wafted his hand towards the sign-up sheet. "Sure, just sign your name on the page. All there is to it." There wasn't some test they needed to past. Then again, maybe he should come up with one just for the hell of it and for a bit of last. It was not like first years were going to know he wasn't being serious or not.
@Enoch Goldewyn @Toby Oikawa

Enoch signed his name and didn't even glance at his dorm mate as he turned around. He glanced about the room and spotted the SDA club, which was the only other one of interest to him. Even if it was headed up by the Slytherin quidditch captain who had unjustly not included him in the slytherin team line-up. He approached her anyway. "Where do I sign to join," he said, quill still in hand and knowing he needed to be at this stall but which of the papers he was supposed to sign.
@Celia Vuong

Callie wasn't sure which clubs she wanted to do. She moved into the club fair, glancing about at the things on offer and none of them were like anything she had ever been to before. The fighting club was the one with that duelling, wild patch was plants and outdoors, the heta omega, sounded like it was an american thing. The monthly was a newspaper and the accio was the yearbook. A lot of it was interesting to her. Callie smiled a a little nervously to herself, trying to calm the nerves which were overwhelmed with choice. Until she spotted the arts club, and decided that would be a good place to start. "Hi, can I...join," she said with uncertainty not sure what the process really was for joining. "Do I need permission from my parents?" she asked since the clubs she'd gone to before had needed it.

Gemma could tell that a flash of confusion appeared on her face for a few seconds as the head of the Hogwarts Monthly spoke. The accent was hard to pick out, but it certainly did not sound from around her. Gemma wondered if the older girl was faking it. Maybe she was an actress. Gemma made sure that she was at the right booth. She didn't think that Hogwarts had a drama club, although they probably should. The blonde girl would happily sign up for that as well. But Gemma did have the right booth.

She accepted the sign up sheet. She wrote her name, probably a little bigger than she should have. No one could miss that she had signed up now though. "Thanks. I have some great ideas!" she said simply. Not sure what else to say, which was uncommon for her. She did have a lot of fashion ideas to write about, although that was basically the limit of it. Maybe she would think on it more. But not now. Now she wanted to see what other clubs she caught her attention. @Giulia Alcott

Gemma left the Hogwarts Monthly booth. She wandered around the club fair, stopping at a few booths, but not signing up for anything until she came across the art club booth. She wasn't an artist, not really. But maybe they had some fashion designers in this category, somewhere that Gemma could fit in. She hoped it was not all just painting and pottery and such. She looked to the girl, who looked kind of alternative to Gemma.

"What exactly do you do in an arts club? Is there any place for a fashion designer such as myself?" She said, the last part holding her head up high. She hadn't designed much at all. Usually just used the clothing at the thift shops and styled them up a bit. She did have a few of her own sketches though. But the Slytherin girl definitely considered herself a wonderful fashionista that would design clothes all around the world. @Niamh Eriksen

Marnie knew her coming by the club fair was a risky decision. She'd already joined two clubs and if she accidentally got sucked into any more she might not even have time to sleep, but she just couldn't resist checking it out to be sure. She was floating towards the Wild Patch table when she saw Sky enter in a hurry, the Art's Club booth not completely set up yet.

"Hey Sky, lemme get those oh cute! I remember these this was fun we should totally paint more murals and stuff like what's the point of an art room if it's not filled with waay too much art right? Right oh sorry you need to talk to those girls and stuff oh new members that's so exciting though are any of you Hufflepuffs I think you're a Hufflepuff right," Marnie said, helping shift some of the boxes and set up the table as Sky handed over a sign up sheet to one of the girls asking about the club. "No, no permission needed unless your parents are really strict I guess but we mostly do art projects and performances and stuff though sometimes we cook things too so maybe if you have a big food allergy but really you'd know better than we would though you should totally write your parents about all the cool stuff you'll get to make too," Marnie assured the Hufflepuff who'd asked. @Niamh Eriksen @Callie Cardoso

Sky placed the tiles and a few small percussion instruments on the table and was just putting a canvas in front when Marnie appeared and started helping her unpack. she was grateful for the help and it was also a good sign with some of the ideas she had been having about the direction of the club. "thank you Marnie. hmm. not murals this year. it would be nice to leave it a while between them so we get different names on the wall." she said as they finished unpacking just in time for two more girls to arrive. the first asking if they needed parents permission and the other about fashion. as Marnie started answering the first question she turned to the second girl. "there is a lot that we do. some people play music, others paint and draw. others prefer crafts or drama or cooking" she said. "so if you like fashion design you will fit right in" she said. she was fairly sure she had seen some sewing machines and some fabric in the room. it was like it catered to whatever was needed. "to sign up you must need to put your name house and year on this piece of parchment. easy as" she said restoring to the parchment and the coloured pencils.

@Marnie Frogg @Gemma Delaney @Callie Cardoso

Ruto had already signed herself up for a fair few clubs, but she really wanted to go to the club fair again and see if there were any more that she could join. The Ravenclaw arrived and noticed there were already a lot of people there, and particularly a lot of first years. She wandered around for a little until she came across the Conglomerated Arts Club. She thought it sounded perfect. There were a few other girls there, but Roo just spoke with the older Hufflepuff on the other side of the table. "Hello! Can I please join? Or is it full now?" she asked, glancing sideways at the other girls that were signing their names down.
@Niamh Eriksen

Celia recognized the next person to approach as the first year who had tried out for a chaser position. He wasn't nearly as enthusiastic as the others, but that was hardly surprising considering his house and failed tryout. "Over here, with all the other names," she said, tapping on the sign-up sheet, her tone a tad drier than was perhaps polite. Celia knew she should probably be nicer to the first years — especially the ones who were interested in Quidditch and SDA — but some of the things they did practically invited contempt.

@Enoch Goldewyn

Marley smiled wide when the older girl told her that she needed to sign her name to join in the club. She was super excited because she loved art and anything creative. Marley excitedly signed her name on the signup sheet. "Thank you! Hope you have a nice day! See you later!" Marley says happily to the older girl before walking around the stand. She looked around to see if there were any other clubs she could sign up for, but nothing else really interested her. She shrugged to herself, before walking away from the club fair.

@Niamh Eriksen

Callie nodded eaerly. if she didn't need to ask her parents then she wouldn't. Callie took a quill and wrote down her name and house where one of the girls - the one who had spoken less - told her to. "Thank you," she said to them before before turning and glancing at everything else on offer and venturing towards the wild patch. "Hi, do you deal in non-magical plants too?" she asked tentatively.
@Kiara Thompson

Enoch put his name where he was told without even glancing at the head girl. He turned and moved away from her before the conversation could go on a moment longer. He glanced about the room, and spotted the arts club, this was where the piano had been and where he intended to practice his flute given that his dorm was filled with idiots. "Do I need to be part of the club to use the arts room?" he decided to ask both of the girls at the stall. he likely would join out of politeness, but if he didn't need it and it was terrible he would just leave.
@Niamh Eriksen @Marnie Frogg

“I’m in!” Ten replied. If she was nervous of anything it was using her wand and actually casting spells, but she knew it was important so maybe the more she practised the more she’d feel ready. After grinning at the Head Girls she bounded off once more. There was one more club Wendall had talked about, and she wanted in on that one too. “Hi! Is this for the arts?” she asked when she found students gathered around another table.

@Celia Vuong @Niamh Eriksen

Asides from Quidditch, Amauri hadn’t really considered what other extra curricular activities she was going to do. Instead she’s decided just to attend the Club Fair, and see what stuck out to her most. She wore her pale blue dress, topped with a chunky knitted sweater and hoped that it wouldn’t be the occasion for robes at a time like this. Making her way to the fair, her eyes were naturally drawn to the gaggle of girls. “What is this?” she peered through the crowd.

Gemma listened to the explanation given by the club leader. It seems like she was slightly unsure. Gemma didn't see the harm in signing up anyway. If the club did incorporate fashion, Gemma certainly would get more benefits out of the situation. Maybe she could even save some money on fabric. It was worth a shot. Gemma took the writing tool on the table and signed her name rather big onto the list. Everyone would know that she signed up now. "Thanks for the info. Looking forward to checking it out." she said simply, her mind flowing with ideas and expectations already. She just hoped this club would live up to them. She left the booth and began searching through the remainding clubs. Maybe something else would catch her eye, but two clubs seemed like enough for now.
@Niamh Eriksen

Veronica had attempted to drag Millie along with her to the club fair but her sister had found the library and she now suspected she would see very little of her going forward unless she went to the Ravenclaw's domain. Veronica didn't want to go to the library, she intended to join Heta Omega and to do that she had to track down the club leader out in the courtyard. She looked around the courtyard and walked until she spotted the booth for Heta Omega and picked out who she guessed was the club leader. "Hi, I'd like to sign up,"

@Renata Stepanova

The initial rush had died down a bit and Renata had a moment to catch her breath and get some water, but there were still more students about. She quickly swallowed the sip of water she'd taken, holding back a cough as it was a little too fast, and quickly composed herself. She smiled at the girl who approached and asked what the stand was. "Hello! This is the sign-up spot for Heta Omega, or the sisterhood. It's a safe space for girls to hang out and meet older student mentors or just relax without any boys bothering them," she joked, giving a wry smile. Of course, there were plenty of boys she liked being around, but it was nice to have that option and now she was in sixth year she liked getting to meet the younger students and helping them feel welcome. "Though we do sometimes do things with the Brotherhood." She felt like she needed to clarify that. She nodded at the other girl who joined. "No problem, just write your name and house down on one of these sheets and we'll do the rest!"

@Amauri Kendall-Wu @Veronica Walden-Cade

Amauri looked between the other girl that had joined them, and the leader of the Heta Omega as she explained what it was. "Yeah, I'll sign up!" she didn't mind boys, but sometimes it was nice to talk about girly things away from them, especially if they wanted to keep their space tidy and smelling fresh. "What other clubs would be worth signing up to?" She asked the older girl, not really knowing where to start at all nor what else would be on offer that would even interest her.
