Y41 S2 Ravenclaw Quidditch Practice

Sutton was distracted thinking about the book she was going to read after practice. She almost did not see the bludger coming her way. Swinging her bat, she missed, but at least she did not get hit by the bludger herself. She had to keep her head in the 'game.'

Sawyer leant forward on his broom, taking a moment to try and blow an errant lock of hair from his face.

Sutton was trying to focus. She really was. But her lack of hits was starting to get her mind to wander. She certainly wasn't the hero right now, not like she wanted. She hit the bludger that came towards her, missing everything that really mattered. What was wrong with her. She would never do well in the game if she couldn't focus.

Sawyer watched the other players from his spot near the hoops, wondering if the others spent as much time in theirs head during practice as he did.

Getting his broom under control, Finn ignored the throbbing in his side as he flew on, towards another bludger. He caught up and swung, staring in disbelief as he managed to strike Sawyer. Maybe all the practice with Odette was finally paying off.

Michael was privately glad he hadn't been hit yet but he was sure it was only a matter of time. Regardless, he took up the quaffle when it was thrown out, looking around to see if the other chasers were around.

Not seeing anyone to pass to, Michael gave a pretty terrible shot on goal that came nowhere near the hoops. "Yeesh, that one sucked. Sorry, man."

Hamish continued his search for the snitch.

Sawyer could only wheeze when the bludger hit him, doing a mini circuit of the hoops to try and shake of the sting. It was almost a relief when Michael's next shot at goal was a complete disaster cause it meant Sawyer didn't have to move his arms too much to try and stop it. "Can't all be winners," he said weakly, tossing the quaffle back into play.

Branson grabbed the ball as it was thrown back out into play.

Valeria was very disappointed to miss the bludger she was aiming for.

Sefina sighed as she looked for the snitch. It was nowhere.

Everything felt slower in the late Summer heat but Sawyer was glad for a brief reprieve as Branson made his way back to the hoops.

Branson threw the ball at the hoops and was disappointed to miss.

Valeria hit the bludger was close enough and was pretty pleased when she managed to actually hit a bludger and managed to send it right towards the chaser who'd just missed the hoop.

Sawyer was just able to get his hands on the quaffle when Branson made his shot, the quaffle going pretty wide. He grimaced though when he looked back towards the other players, seeing Branson and Michael both take a bludger one after the other.

The beaters were definitely on a roll now and Sawyer barely suppressed a flinch as Sutton got another hit in on Sefina. "Ease up on Sefina for a bit, beaters! Maybe switch to defending her for a bit?" He offered, figuring the second year could use a breather.

Michael winced as the bludger hit him, but it didn't stop him from picking up the quaffle, even if his grip was a little shaky. He hoped he could pass it off, get practice in on that.

Sutton took the team captians words to heart. It certainly was more difficult because she would always go for seekers during a game. But they were all one team. She must have let the few hits encourage her. She hit another bludger, they were tricky. She aimed away from the seekers, missing anyone.

Sefina gritted her teeth as another bludger crashed into her. Merlin, was she having bad luck this practice. Except, just as she righted herself on her broom, she noticed a glint of gold at the end of the pitch. Fighting through the pain, she leaned into her broom and zoomed to the snitch, snatching it out of the air. She held up her fist triumphantly before releasing it.

Sawyer kept a wary eye on Sefina, straightening up on his broom as she suddenly shot across the pitch. He'd half been expecting her to be rushing from the pitch but was pleasantly surprised to see her suddenly stop to hold up the snitch clasped in her fist. "Wow, way to turn it around," he called, impressed. If they could manage something like that during the match they'd be in good shape.

Finn winced at the sight of the bludgers flying around. He flew closer to Sefina, hoping to keep the young alternate safe for a bit.
