Y39 Slytherin Practice S1

Ivelisse still didn’t catch any sign of the snitch.

Celia tried to catch up with one of the bludgers, but an incoming player forced her to swerve away, allowing the ball to escape. She shot her teammate a glare before resuming her chase.

Ivelisse kept on looking.

Ruben kept looking for the snitch, no signs of finding it anytime soon.

Celia continued to chase after the bludger. It was a good thing there were two of them, she decided, so she and Daintree didn't have to fight over them. She idly wondered if games would be better with four bludgers. One for each beater.

Ruben started to get a little bored from all of this but he tried not to lose focus and keep the search going.

Celia finally caught up with the bludger and smacked it towards Indira, but it shot past her and hit @Lucie Vernier instead. Well a hit was a hit. She gave a shrug and took off after the other bludger, intent on landing hits against the rest of the team.

Lucie was glad to be blocking quite a few shots. She kept her focus on the chasers, watching as they flew across the pitch. Suddenly, she groaned as she was hit in the side by a bludger, and crouched over, wincing as she felt the pain sear through her whole body. The bludgers had been soaring around all game and it was inevitable for them to finally head Lucie's way. She tried to straighten herself up however, despite the pain, so she could continue on.

Indi kept close behind Natalia as she grabbed the quaffle again. She decided to hold back and let the other girl attempt to make a goal. It wasn't like she was going to make it anyways.

Eleanor winced as a bludger made contact with her right side. She looked up to find Celia as the guilty party that directed the bludger her way. She supposed she should be glad her teammate packed a punch, but it hurt too much for that right now. Eleanor refocused her attention on Natalie once more. The other girl had the Quaffle and Eleanor saw the opportunity to steal. She darted in and knocked the ball free before turning and heading towards the hoops. She hoped to make her shot this time. She aimed for the far left hoop, but her shot fell short. Eleanor grimaced in frustration.

Lucie was in a bit of pain now, and so she was a little slow at blocking the next shot that came her way. She was lucky that the chaser's throw went short. The third year collected the quaffle and threw it back out.

Celia took a brief break from all her bludger chasing to observe the rest of the team. It hadn't escaped her notice that the chasers seemed to be stealing from each other. A lot. And she didn't think it was just because they wanted to improve their Quidditch skills. Natalia and Indira in particular seemed to have it out for each other, and Celia filed away this observation in case it was useful. She wasn't sure how Liusaidh and Eleanor fit into the overall picture of the chasers' dynamics, but she was sure she could figure it out eventually.

Liusaidh caught the ball as it was thrown back out. She was determined to not fail again.

Daintree spotted the bludger going towards a player close to him. He dashed forward and hit, sending it flying straight into the chaser with the ball.
@Liusaidh Fergusson

OOCOut of Character:
Folks, remember if you still the ball from another player you should still list the associated quidditch rule. if for nothing else that good practice

The throbbing pain in Lucie's side wasn't enough to stop her from focusing. She continued to keep her eye on the chasers, in particular on Liusaidhu who currently had the quaffle.

Ruben kept searching the snitch, had his luck ran out?

Ivelisse still didn't see any sign of the snitch, but at least Ruben didn't seem to have spotted it again either. Although perhaps that wasn't such a good sign.

Celia watched as Daintree sent another bludger at Liusaidh. She decided to take that as a sign that the team had recovered enough from their previous hits to take another beating. Celia aimed her next bludger at Ivelisse, but she missed.

Ruben was sure he had searched the entire pitch for the snitch at this point, sure none of the other players had caught it and was hiding it, right?

One of the bludgers arced its way over to her, and Celia quickly repositioned herself, mentally working out the best angle. She could tell as soon as she hit it that the ball would make its way to her target. Indeed, it flew straight into @Ivelisse Burleigh, and Celia grinned, happy that she'd finally gotten the second seeker.

Ivelisse thought she noticed a glimmer of gold, but before she could even check it out she felt another bludger slam right into her. She clutched her side, trying to quickly blink away the tears that sprang to her eyes. She wasn't too keen on anyone seeing her almost cry, even if this second hit made her hurt a lot worse than just the first one had.

Indi followed Liusaidh closely wanting to be open for a pass even though she was sure it wasn't likely. Maybe if the older girl kept taking her sweet time she might get a chance to steal again.

Liusaidh threw the ball but having been recently hit by a bludger it went completely wide.

Ruben was glad that at least the beaters seemed to have better luck than him. If they couldn't win by catching the snitch they sure could win by knocking out everyone.

Celia tried to hit a bludger towards Ruben, but the angle was all wrong, and it flew off in a different direction. As she watched the seeker, she wondered what the relationship between the two co-captains was like. They acted friendly enough, but maybe there was some hidden tension. A fourth year was an interesting pick for a co-captain spot, especially since she was pretty sure Blake had gotten to captain the team alone.
