Vivid stars twinkled through white wisps of cloud overhead of those entering the Great Hall, shining brightly against the velvet darkness of space that blanketed the entirety of its ceiling, dominated by a single pale moon that bathed the room's entrants in a silvery light. The hall itself was further illuminated by flickering candle flames that appeared to sway and float in mid-air as if held aloft by invisible threads, bathing the building's lengthy tables adorned with shining dishes in a warm glow. Katherine herself stood positioned behind a podium at the forefront of the hall, greeting the youths who entered with a silent nod and a small smile. A sea of faces both new and old, from those here for their first year, to those here for their last.

"Tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou katoa." Katherine began, her eyes sweeping over the sea of faces already gathered at the house tables, and those waiting to join them. "Welcome, to those of you returning for another year, and to those of you joining us for the first time today. For many of you, this day marks the start of your journey as young witches and wizards in the magical world. The castle and its surrounding grounds will be your home for the next seven years - a place for you all to live, to learn, and to grow. That being said, I must remind the older students, and caution those of you who are new, that the Forbidden Forest is strictly off-limits to students unless supervised by a professor or member of staff. It may look enticing to some of you, but many dangers lurk within the forest. It is restricted for your safety, and any rule breakers will be punished accordingly."

The woman let her warning linger for a moment, eyeing those in particular who appeared more than willing to break that rule, before continuing on. "Now, let's begin. Each of you will be sorted into a house, which you will remain in for the duration of your time here. These houses are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin, named after each of the original founding members of this prestigious school. " As she spoke each name, banners rolled up against the farthest wall suddenly unfurled, depicting the colours and crests of each individual house, matching the silk cloths adorning each table. "You will be sorted based on the values of each founder, and placed with students who embody similar values. First-years, as I call your name, step forward and seat yourselves here." Katherine gestured toward the short stool at the front of the hall, situated in perfect view of everyone present. "Once seated, I will place the Sorting Hat upon your heads, after which your future house will be decided and you are to move on to your table and join your new housemates. This decision is final, and houses cannot be changed once the Sorting Hat has made its decision. Now, let us begin." Ending it on that note, the woman unraveled the roll of parchment in front of her and called up the first name.

OOCOut of Character: Please Read
As stated in the Information about Sorting thread, you must fill out the sorting form entirely and properly, and fill in an RP as exemplified in the post. If your RP does not leave room for the sorting hat to sort you: you will not be sorted. If the sorting hat does not receive your sorting form: you will not be sorted. Follow instructions and: you will be sorted.

You can edit your post once you are sorted, but be sure that you only reply to this topic once and it is through the sorting form provided. Thank you.

The time has come now once again,
To greet you all in song.
New year, new friends, and all new faces,
In amongst the throng.

But who am I? The Sorting Hat!
I'm here to sort you all.
I'll tell you soon where you should go,
Be you great or small.

The bravest of you might become
Old Gryffindor's new pride.
Your bold, courageous housemates
Will always have your side.

Or Ravenclaw might better suit
Those clever of the mind.
Your wisdom will grow far here
if you're scholarly inclined.

In Hufflepuff the fair and true
Will find their closest friends.
A house made strong by working hard
To achieve their ends.

In Slytherin a cunning heart
Will see your goals succeed.
Your ambitions will be fostered
All subtle in your deed.

So try me on! I never bite
And hardly ever dither.
Your house awaits, as does the feast
So call the students hither!

Ivelisse had been waiting on this moment for literal years and now it had finally come. Finally, it was her time to arrive at the school, to show everyone what she was made of. She didn't exactly know what the next seven years of her life would have in store for her but there was one thing she knew for sure: she was ready for it. Making her way into the great hall together with the other first years Iva smiled at a couple of them, walking down to the front of the hall with a newfound level of confidence, not even the slightest bit bothered by having so many pairs of eyes upon them. She questioned whether she'd glance over to the hufflepuff table, see if she could spot her sister but figured that once it was her turn and she'd be on the seat her sister was sure to do something to get her attention. Luckily, having a surname starting with a 'B' came in rather useful this time around and it didn't take too long before Ivelisse was called upon by the headmistress. Walking right up towards the woman she gave the headmistress her most charming smile, before turning around and sitting herself down on the seat, the confident smile never leaving her face. Not even when the hat was placed upon her head.

"There a few places where a competitive spirit like yours suits, but I would say that your competitive spirit will definitely suit you best in......Slytherin,"

Mirim headed into the great hall excitedly with the other first years. She was basically jumping out of her skin. She saw Aerin there and shouted a “Hi Aerin!!” At her sister. Mirim had heard so much of the freedom that she’d get with hogwarts and she was ready to taste it.

Mirim barely listened to the Professor’s speech, but the words “off-limit” caught her attention. Mirim’s first mission now was to explore the forests. She was too busy thinking about her plans to explore the “forbidden” forest when Mirim’s name was called. She excitedly approached the headmistress and the sorting hat. “Get me sorted, Mr. Sorting Hat, Sir!!”

"Sir....oh I like you....I'll make this quick then. You've a lot of natural intelligence but that's not really where you've settled, there's an adventurous side to you....better be.....Gryffindor"

Bella took her steps forward insecurely. The castle was very large and there was still unknown and unknown magic. Bella hoped she would understand for herself which tower she wanted to be in, but those emotions didn't come from her field. Bella felt stranger in this world because she came from muggle families not a wizard. She sat down in a chair and Bella felt a little woried. "Hello? I not sure if i belong here with your wold but you are doing amaizing job here." Bella told her nice compliment and smiled her. "My name is Elizabella Drake, can i be with the same house with Louis, please?" She asked with a warm smile.

"Hello Elizabella, you'll be in the house which suits you and not the house that suits someone else. For you though, there's a calmness that will suit you well in.....Hufflepuff!"

Remus was sad that he left her little animal away from him. He was alone with his thought. He walked closer to hat and he didn't know if he wanted smile to a hat? But he try get a good impresion of her and he try smile her and he take sit. "Hello? I'm Remus Black!" He felt today a little alone and his family was home and he missed right now his brothers and sisters.

"Hmmm.....this is difficult, there's a lot of hufflepuff in you and some ravenclaw too.....I think of the two, you'll do best in.....Ravenclaw,"

Georgina was excited for her first day of Hogwarts and had barely slept the entire week prior to this - surviving on adrenaline alone. Now with the day here she practically buzzed. While she knew she would be one of the last students to be sorted she was somehow able to maintain her smile throughout - even if she had to remind herself to temper it so as not to seem too eager. The long list of students began - people finding their new homes - until it finally came time for her name to be called by the intimidating woman.

"Wallace, Georgina."

Georgina tucked her long red hair behind her ear and slowly exhaled as she stepped up to the plate. She sat and let the hat be rested on her head as her parents had both had done before at another Hogwarts academy. She wondered which house she would favour - her mother in Ravenclaw or her father in Slytherin or perhaps a house of her own. Mostly she wondered what it would mean for her.

"You would suit slytherin like your father or ravenclaw like your mother......but we have to make our paths in life don't we? And for you that means.......Gryffindor"

Louis was thrilled to be here, though he wished he could go exploring. Sure, sorting was exciting, but so was the sight of all the different corridors in the castle. Louis wondered if it was true that there were secret passages and hidden things to find, and if it was true, he knew he would find them. He followed his classmates into the Great Hall, looking around with a big grin on his face. He took a moment to admire the ceiling, then looked at all the students waiting. Louis smiled easily at the older students, not that intimidated by them. He wondered what house he would be in, if it would be one of the houses his cousins had been in or if it would be a new one. Louis knew he'd have a blast wherever he ended up, he just hoped the Quidditch team would have room for him. But while the Great Hall was beautiful, it was starting to look less interesting after a few minutes. Louis was impatient to be sorted, though he knew he would be one of the first if they went by last name. At least he wasn't named Zalcott or something like that. He listened to the sorting hat's song, quietly thinking the Ravenclaws sounded like a bunch of nerds. That fit with what he knew about his cousin October. He was glad when the song was over and the hat started calling names. When it was his turn, he walked over to the stool and sat down, smiling eagerly as he waited to hear what house he would be in.

"Well, well, well, aren't we eager...and really this isn't an overally difficult choice, this house will suit you and your drive very well indeed....Gryffindor,"

Mélusine waited quietly in her corner and did not raise her head from the ground until she heard his name. She walked over to the platform being careful not to trifle with a few things, two of her cousins who were studying here had tripped in a dress at this ceremony, no way that would happen to her. After having climbed the few steps, she sat down on the chair where the Sorting Hat was placed on her head. When she saw that it was taking time she spoke while looking at her watch "Are you finished soon?" The girl didn't have the whole evening.

"Don't rush me..............this is a very important decision I am making, and really I have ALL evening to make it......for you, there are two clear paths, either gryffindor or slytherin.......and since you want this over with quickly.......Slytherin,"

René had been subconsciously waiting for today for approximately five years. Not that he'd really believed he was magical before, but finding out Sully was when he'd gotten his letter had changed his life and he'd wanted nothing more than to get to follow his brother on all the cool and exciting adventures he kept telling him about. Now that he was here though, standing in the hall with a bunch of other kids, René was suddenly nervous. Sully had given him the full run down on the train ride over, but René was sure he'd missed some key piece of information about what he was supposed to do to get in Gryffindor or what to do while standing in line.

He tugged awkwardly on his new robes, already feeling like he was too tall to fit them properly and glanced around the hall. The one benefit of their last name was he had some time before his name was called, and René eagerly searched for Sully at one of the tables, immediately relaxing when he spotted Sully over his new classmate's heads. Keeping his eyes on Sully, even cracking a smile as Sully made a dumb face, René relaxed immediately. He could do this no problem, and he had so many cool things to look forward to! He just had to walk up there like everyone else, put on the hat, and go sit with his brother. Easy.

"Hmmm, unfortunately I don't believe you'll be sitting with your brother..gryffindor could be a good fit for you but I'm not sure it would be the best fit. It's great to have people to look up to but you'll be your best you following your own path in......Hufflepuff"

Van squirmed and itched at her neck. Brand new clothes were so bloody uncomfortable. She looked ridiculous, too - why had her dad insisted on buying her robes a size too big? It wasn't like he needed to save money. The old man was rolling in it. She adjusted her shirt collar one more time before tucking her hands under her armpits. All of this was distracting her from the Headmistress's speech. Best to pay attention. Though she had learned a little about the wizarding world from her dad and her tutors, she realised she was out of her depth. Most of the other children came from magical backgrounds, putting her at a distinct disadvantage. And there were dangers. You'd think a school would have certain health and safety measures to employ, but still...

"Voclain, Evanna."

Well, great - now everybody knew her full name. "It's Van," she told the Headmistress loudly as she passed her, though it was mostly for the benefit of the rest of the hall. She sat down, realising as the hat was placed on her head that she hadn't given any thought whatsoever to which house she wanted to be in. It didn't really matter. Her old school had had houses as well, and they were a total waste of time. The points system, too - it was all a clever trick to get the students to work together, and work hard, only it wasn't very clever at all and Van paid no notice. This would be just the same.

"Hello Van, it's good to meet you. Houses are a little different here as I'm sure you will find out in....Gryffindor,"

Dmitri rubbed his neck out of nervousness, a habit he had gained whenever he felt uncomfortable. The great hall was beautiful and at any moment he could have been distracted by any one of the floating candles but he was too overwhelmed. He took a deep breath and looked up. His nervousness subsided. He didn’t notice how the room seemed to mirror the sky outside. He was simply enthralled.

“Pieterse, Dmitri”

Upon hearing his name being called, Dmitri snapped out of his focus on the ceiling. He approached the front of the hall with a soft smile on his face. “Good Evening, Professor.” He said, and then politely greeted the sorting hat. He sat down and awaited his fate.

"You seem very polite...that makes a bit of a change from some of your classmates...hmmm. I think I know just where you should go...Ravenclaw,"

Charlie was shaking, nervous, and his stomach was tied in knots. He missed his dad, he just wanted to go home. Yeah, the castle was beautiful. But Charlie was scared. He wanted to see his dad, he hated being alone here. He swallowed nervously. He looked around, not seeing anyone he knew. This was a horrible idea, what was he even doing? He fidgeted. He needed to write to his dad, soon. It wasn't much, but it was better than nothing. Charlie swallowed nervously, jumping when he heard his name called. He straightened his shoulders and walked up to the stool, sitting down and letting out a tiny sigh of relief when the hat covered his eyes.

"There is nothing to be nervous about...this will only take a second. I can definitely see some little elements of bravery, but truly your path lies in.....Hufflepuff,"

Crystal was nervous for this day. It was hard to say goodbye to her parents, it would be the first time she was without them. She felt alone all of sudden and hoped that, that would change soon. There was nothing more than her wanting to have an friend. And she would do anything for that, she thought? The blonde was glad she already knew one person her sister and hoped that she would get in the same house as both of her sisters had been and most of her family. After the train ride she was amazed by the castle and the size of it. Ofcourse she had heard stories and read some about Hogwarts, but seeing it was so different. Crystal already was wondering how she would ever find her way around there.

Entering the Great Hall Crystal looked at the older students around and tried to find her sister at the table which seemed Gryffindor. Following the rest of the students, who seemed all excited to be here. She listened as the headmistress spoke. The forbidden forest was off limits, but Crystal was wondering which creatures lived inside of it. She hoped to go there, she needed to see. But she was not really thinking of going to break the rules. After the speech, students were called one by one to go and get sorted. It would happen by an magical hat, which could talk. That seemed strange, but interesting at the same time. When her name was called she sighted and looked around nervously. Making her way to the professor and the hat. Sitting on the stool and trying to find Christina, glad when she finally did. But her heart was racing. She didn't liked to be in the centre of attention also. So quickly be done with it she thought. And thinking of Gryffindor, to be like her sisters.

"You would make a fair Gryffindor, you've got some bravery but that's...that's not the house for you. A good amount of kindness too, some ambition, a lot of intelligence. This is quite difficult, but......just let me figure it out....hmm...yes...okay....Ravenclaw,"

Zachariah walked into the hall behind the other first years. He sighed not really ready for his holiday to be over just yet. He had avoided his sister on the train, but now that was left up to where her was placed. As he walked down the center he turned his head to the side. He spotted his sister watching him. [ISPOILER]"Oh please put me in a separate house."[/ISPOILER] He thought as he waited for his turn.

There were a few students being called out before him. Waiting as patiently as possible his name was finally called. He walked up with a single thought in mind. He really wanted to prove Ravenclaw's weren't only about books and studies.

"Ravenclaws are more than just books and studies that is very true. I do notice there's a slight unwillingness to be placed in Slytherin, though you would do well in slytherin but I see what you want and that will suit you well, so....Ravenclaw,"

Manaia had been waiting for today for years, and now that it had finally arrived, it was almost too much to bear. Entering the great hall with his new classmates, his eyes didn't flick up like so many others did. He had heard all about the magical ceiling, knew he would have years and years at school to enjoy it, but for now, he looked over at the Professors' table. It was almost strange to see Auntie Kahu sitting there, looking so formal in her robes and kākahu. He almost didn't quite feel like he was allowed to wave. Almost. But she was still Auntie Kahu, and his face split into a broad grin as she waved back. This was going to be fine.

Now that he had greeted his aunt, Manaia finally took a moment to take everything in. It felt like hundreds of eyes were on his little group as he looked around the crowded room, surprised that he was surprised at how crowded the tables were. He knew Hogwarts was a big school, he had always know, but to actually see it was a little bit mind blowing. He listened as the Headmistress spoke and then the hat sang, surprised even though he had been told to expect it. Every bit of information he had begged his auntie for about Hogwarts seemed to have fallen away as he was experiencing it for himself. And then the names began and Manaia found himself tuning out, much as he wanted to pay attention. There was so much to see here. He looked whenever he heard a familiar name, eager to see where the people he had met so far in the magical world would be placed, and as they carried on down the alphabet, at last...

"Te Rangi, Manaia."

Manaia jumped at the sound of his name, unable to suppress a broad grin as he made his way over to the stool, giving Auntie Kahu a last grin and thumbs up before he sat down. The hat covered his face almost completely, only his grin visible underneath, and as he stared into the rough fabric, it struck Manaia how strange it was that his thoughts were being read. By a hat, of all things. He didn't really know how he felt about his privacy, but he may as well try and make the most of this. "Hey Mr. Hat, if you can hear me..." He thought, figuring he may as well try his luck. "It'd be mean as* if you put me in Ravenclaw, I really wanna be in my auntie's house..."

*Mean as - NZ slang for good/cool.

"Your auntie's house....let's see....there's a lot of creativity, certainly intelligence, certainly you'd manage well there..I think you'll do better in.....Hufflepuff,"

Amelia was impatient by nature. She was so excited to be sorted, that she was nearly jumping out of her skin as she stood in line behind the other students. Why did the letter N have to be so far down the alphabet? Her cousin @Charlie Jacobs was getting sorted before her, it wasn’t fair. She picked out her brother @Michael Newton at the Gryffindor table and @Samantha Jacobs at Hufflepuff, waving at them and grinning like a madwoman as she waited for her turn. She felt like she was going to fly off the seat as it was finally her time to shine. After the Sorting Hat was plopped onto her head, it seemed like an eternity for the decision to be made, although in reality, it was probably less than a minute.

"Well.....this really will take less than a minute...Gryffindor,"

Celia was impressed. She was never going to admit it, but the magical ceiling with its twinkling stars was impressive, and a tiny part of her was glad she'd made it this far to see it. But even as she registered her admiration, she told herself that she would not be here long, and it made no sense to like a school just because it happened to have a pretty cafeteria. Besides, she was sure Ilvermorny had a much more regal campus. The old medieval aesthetic of the Hogwarts castle was a bit too musty for her taste. She hadn't even realized New Zealand had castles.

She listened quietly as the principal — no, headmistress — welcomed them, scoffing slightly at the idea that she'd be stuck here for seven years. At the mention of a Forbidden Forest, Celia perked up. That was it. That had to be her way out. She would go and find this forest as soon as possible, and she'd enter it however many times was necessary to get expelled. Then her parents would have no choice but to find her a new school, hopefully one close to home in Boston.

The headmistress continued to drone on about the houses, and Celia listened half-heartedly, taking the time instead to observe the students and professors. When the headmistress got to the part about sorting, however, Celia frowned, and her boredom quickly turned into horror. "What? She's kidding, right?" Celia whispered sharply to the person next to her. "That hat is disgusting." Where were the statues? She was supposed to step forward and get claimed by a statue! Was that not how magical sortings worked? Had her mom lied to her?

To her surprise, her classmates happily took a seat on the stool and allowed that filthy, ancient hat to touch their heads. Even worse, Celia quickly realized they were being called in alphabetical order. By the time she got sorted, that hat would have touched hundreds of other people's heads. And the headmistress wasn't even sanitizing the hat between uses! She spotted someone with very greasy looking hair standing a few feet in front of her and fought the urge to retch. What if she got lice? She would have to shower as soon as this stupid ceremony was over.

It seemed to take no time at all before it was Celia's turn. She briefly considered just trying to flee but quickly dismissed that idea since there was no way she'd be able to navigate the castle or the grounds. And a very small part of her kind of wanted to see whether she would be considered courageous, clever, hard-working, or cunning. Gritting her teeth, Celia made her way to the stool and forced herself to sit down. "Please just hold it over my head," she requested as politely as she could. But seconds later, she felt the hat's grimy folds slip over her head, and she cringed, wishing the sorting would pass as quickly as possible.

"You know, kids always judge my appearance a lot, I'm not sure why they always think I'm gross or grimy, I can assure you I'm very clean..and really you wear me for a second and in that second I decide your life so you should be nice. People should be nicer to me. Kids should remember to be nice to people or sentient hats they don't know, my feelings if I had such things could've really been hurt. Oh, did you want to get sorted quickly? Sure, I'm getting there, I just want to make sure you are assure that I'm clean and not grimy..I could've done this in seconds, the answer of where you should go is easy but...I'm just taking my time. How was the weather today? Oh fine then.....Slytherin,"

Caleb could feel his excitement growing as they finally made it into the Great Hall. Lila had tried to describe it to him but she hadn't done a very good job because it was more amazing than he had ever expected. He looked around at the different tables trying to find Slytherin and Ravenclaw to see if he could spot his siblings but there were too many people and he was too excited to really try too hard. He was kind of far back in the group of other first years and he wondered if anyone would yell at him if he tried to push his way to the front but with his last name it would take a while to be called so he did his best to be patient.

Caleb tried to focus on the headmistress as she spoke but he found himself looking at the ceiling or at the floating lights. But when the hat started to sing, his face lit up. Finally it was time for the fun part. He had been considering his house for a while and decided he would probably be happy anywhere. Except Ravenclaw. If they were all like his sister it was likely going to be a dull seven years.

"Thorne, Caleb!" the hat announced and Caleb did not hesitate to rush to the front of the hall. He sat on in front of the hat an straightened out his robes. He took a deep breath and waited for the hat to be placed on his head.

"Hmmm, a tricky one, a real balance between Slytherin and Gryffindor, both would suit you, both where you would excel, but perhaps there just a little more plain ambition than plain bravery so....Slytherin,"

Zephryn entered into the Great Hall, her mouth falling open as she took in the view. Although her older sister had told her of what Hogwarts would be like, Zee never truly believed all the fantasy that were in Sutton's tales. It was just like her sister to stretch the truth just a little to make it a better story. This, however, was not the case. Zephryn could now see how the wonders she was about to experience here at Hogwarts. For once the young girl was speechless, something that did not happen often.

She followed her fellow first year students to the front of the Great Hall. Zee was so preoccupied with the magical ceiling, she had almost forgot to look around for her sister at the Ravenclaw table or even her sister that was supposed to be by her side. They had been separated in the crowd; which was not at all a big deal. They probably would be put in the same house, even if they were so different. Zee did not focus on that though. This was her moment to experience, individually, well along with hundreds of other students experiencing it as well.

Zee listened to the Headmistress's speech, well sort of. She tried to focus but there was so many more interesting things to see. Her attention was grabbed by the singing Sorting Hat. She knew this would happen, of course being a third generation here at Hogwarts, but it was so different to experience this in person. Zee clapped her hands loudly as the Hat finished it's song, cheering a little in excitement. This continued as Zee listened to so many other students be called up to the front to be sorted. The hat was always placed on their head and a decision was made. Zee waited her turn patiently. She of course clapped loudly when her sister was sorted first. Yet she was more focused on herself, not surprising.

"Spencer, Zephryn"

Zephryn walked to the front of the crowd. She quickly sat down on the stool, looking around at the crowd in front of her. It made her feel as if she had just won the Rugby championship. The quiet after a good play until the crowd erupts. Once her house was chosen that would be the applause. But for now she sat on the stool, the Sorting Hat placed on her head. Hello Mr. Hat She began thinking about what she should say. She never really planned this out. I guess the play is in your hands. I don't know where I want to go. She thought, truly she was uncertain. As much as she loved her older sister she was not sure she was meant to be in Ravenclaw.

Zee closed her eyes as she waited for the Sorting Hat to make it's important decision. Which team would she be on?

"The play is in my hands, and truly, you are right in thinking that you are not meant for ravenclaw, you are meant for and I guess it will make it your team.....Gryffindor,"

Malkin barely arrived in the room got comfortable and observed the other arrivals and which ones to be good acquaintances or friends. But hey not everything is seen on a face. Her last name being at the beginning of the alphabet, she was called quickly.
"Aster Malkin?"
The young witch walked elegantly through the crowd, not hesitating to slightly push some who blocked her path. "I'm coming!" she said enthusiastically. When they put the sorting hat on her head she did not wait a moment before making a remark "So? There is a lot to think about ,isn't it ?" She said with a big smile and impatiently waiting for the verdict.

"There is always a lot to think about, but I see you have your heart set on something, and truly the ambition to back it up so, this isn't too difficult for me......Slytherin,"

When she was younger weird things had happened when she was emotional. Her adoptive father always called her his special little girl and Lynn couldn't agree more. Although she had never realized how special she actually was. When she got her Hogwarts letter she couldn't be overly happy. Rose her little sister, the little idiot was already going to the school which meant it was a whole lot less cool. I mean Rose was the most boring person there was, what could a magical school see in the mundane kid.

It was Lynn who was special, Rose was just a gardening nut. Always busy with her little plants, her hair in a giant mess. Lynn on the other hand was pristine, spotless and pretty perfect. She didn't want to learn French nor attend any of the other schools and a magical school was an opportunity Lynn wasn't going to say no to even if it was blemished by her sister already.

Anyway this day was going to be about Lynn, not about Rose. She brushed her red locks and smiled to her image in the mirror. While Thyme was at home, Rose and she went over to the wall between the platform. Whereas Rose was giving a bunch of hugs and kisses, Lynn already walked through the wall. She didn't any parental guidance, she was old enough to do things on her own.

The train ride went awesome and then it was time to get sorted. The headmistress held some incredibly boring speech that she was sure to miss. She was making a mental list in her head of everything she wanted to achieve at this school. Although Lynn had expected something else, more modern less musky and old. She spotted a mirror on the wall and looked at her reflection for the last time. Even if this black outfit was dam ugly, she rocked it at least. Her red hair contributing to the ugly black fabric that she was required to wear.

When the Great Hall opened she made sure not to look at the Hufflepuff table where Rose was seated. She didn't want to be found near her. Lynn walked into hall completely ignoring the rest of the students that walked in with her. For Lynn she was alone, this was her moment and no one was going to steal it from her.

When it was her turn to go to the stool she made sure to look everyone in front of her in the eye. She didn't mind the hat, it was a means to an end. It could also be a pair of sunglasses or a bikini the shape of the item didn't matter. Although the hat wasn't very fashionable, everyone had to wear it so there was no way people could bully her for wearing it. When the hat was placed on her head Lynn made sure to think of all the moments she conjured some cool magic.

"You'll be conjuring cool magic in next to no time, alongside some like minded people who'll accept you in.....Slytherin,"

The day of finally attending Hogwarts had finally arrived. The boy wasn't going to admit it, but he was a little nervous. He had heard stories and information about his parents time in Hogwarts, in Scotland. However, Nolan had felt that his experience here was going to be different than his parents, and he wasn't sure if he was going to like that or not. The train ride here had been fun, seeing familiar faces and whatnot. The boy had hoped that he was going to be put in the same house with a few people he had met. Hogwarts had been familiar yet also unfamiliar to him.

Nolan walked into the great hall, standing near people he had known. The boy looked around the Great Hall and noticed that there were millions of students around, he never even realised how many students even attended Hogwarts. Even though Nolan was told about the talking sorting hat, it had still caught him in surprise when it started to sing. He hadn't really thought that the hat was going to sing, Students names were finally being called to be sorted. Nolan was getting more and more nervous now. What if people didn't like him in the house that he was sorted in. He'd most likely hide away anyways, and play his instruments.

"Nolan Burke"

Nolan's name was finally called up. He gulped before making his way to the front of the Great Hall. Hands became sweaty as he sat down and felt that hat being placed on his hat. Nolan didn't mind what house he was placed in. Just as long as there was somewhere in Hogwarts where he could play his music.

"There are plenty of places in school for you to play your music and you can start with.....Hufflepuff,"

Rhys didn't look all that interested in the Great Hall as they walked in, somewhat wrinkling his nose as he glanced around. Instead, his attention quickly shifted back to the small notebook in his hand as he finished off the sketch he had started on the train. The young boy barely paid any attention to the Headmistress, didn't even really look up as the sorting started and names were starting to be called out and other first-years moved from the crowd in front of the sorting hat. Instead, he was so lost in his own little world, pencil scribbling on the page that it was only the sharp elbow jabbed into his ribs that made him blink a look up in surprise. Had they already gotten to his name? No one else was moving, so he supposed they must have.

Sighing, Rhys closed his notepad and shoved the pencil between the hoops keeping the pages together before he strolled towards the stool at the front and plopped himself down, legs swinging as his toes brushed the floor. "Can we get this over with, please?" He asked softly, clutching his notebook to his chest a little tighter, "I need to finish my drawing."

"Well, aren't you a little curious.....some great Ravenclaw traits, but this passion....hmmm okay, you can get back to your drawing now......Slytherin,"

It was finally Charlie's turn to go to Hogwarts. He had his cousin joining him this year as well and Charlie was grateful for that because he was glad that there was someone he knew in his year level. Charlie had heard many stories from his cousins. Speaking of his cousins, he looked around the great hall looking for his older cousins, when he noticed Amelia waving like crazy to someone and realised that she was waving to the cousins. So Charlie waved at them and smiled.

Charlie looked around the Great Hall, looking around and pinpointing places around the room where he could pull off a good prank. He had a feeling that he was going to enjoy some prank pulling at school. The boy found the hat interesting though. He hadn't really seen anything like it. Deep down, Charlie had hoped that he was sorted into a house with his cousins. But he didn't really mind if he wasn't. Charlie had to wait for agesss and he was getting bored of waiting for his name. The boy was getting impatient and he just wanted to sit down already.

"Charlie Jacobs"

The young Jacobs sighed in relief when his name had finally been called. He was getting enthusiastic all over again. The boy hurriedly and excitedly made his way up to the front of the great hall, sitting down and felt the hat being placed on his hat, a huge grin appearing on his face.

"A prankster....oh dear, I fear for your head of house. That being said, you do have a good amount of intelligence, you wouldn't be too out of place in Ravenclaw, but really, who are we kidding.....Gryffindor,"
