Y37 Gryffindor Practice S1

Sully drifted back and forth in front of the hoops, hoping to keep harrying Nikko with Chloë before team scarlet could get the quaffle back in play.

Nikko did his best to keep watch, even with Sully getting in his way. So far he had been holding his own and he didn't want to get distracted now.

Eager to make up for being called out by Emma, Lysander fly alongside a bludger and struck it with him bat, again, intending to hit one of the opposing chasers. Instead, it made contact with @Solomon Tofilau. Lysander groaned in shame. This was not his day.

Sully had his eyes glued on the quaffle, so he didn't even notice the bludger until it was smacking into his back. His broom bucked forward and Sully squawked as he righted himself, looking around sourly and rubbing at the back of his neck. "Oi, what gives," He called to Lysander, realizing he'd hit the bludger and not Emma.

It was starting to get a bit hard to ignore how everyone else was doing, but Flynn was trying as he simply tried to continue his search for the snitch.

Chloë started to get the slightest bit annoyed by hoe things didn’t seem to go smoothly for most of their team members as she watched Sully attempt to score again. They didn’t seem to have any succes at scoring and even if their beaters had managed to hit a few bludgers they were all towards the wrong people. Determined things had to turn around sooner or later she moved in quickly when the quaffle was thrown out, getting her hands on it before the team scarlet chasers could and moving around to get away from the hoops for a bit.

Sully back still hurt from the bludger, but he didn't want to whine about it anymore. He was glad Chloë managed to snag the quaffle again, moving to back her up as she moved around the pitch.

Lysander could only shrug apologetically. "I wasn't aiming for you!" He called back. "My bad, again." Merlin. This was abysmal for his first practice as a captain. He sighed and carried on.

The practice wasn't going that well for most people, but on the plus side it meant their keepers were magnificent.

Lysander accelerated after another bludger, and sent it sailing, once again, right past the person he'd aimed for. He couldn't understand it. He'd done so well over the holidays, he thought, and now when it really mattered, he wasn't doing nearly as well.

Sully stuck close to Chloë, hoping to back her up if she needed it. They hadn't managed a goal yet, but he was enjoying playing in a duo with her at least, and blocking out team scarlet's chasers was also pretty fun on its own.

Though there was still no sign of the snitch he was not about to give up, huffing as he adjusted his foot back on his broom again, moving towards the stands in the hopes that maybe the snitch was just hiding in the seats somewhere.

Chloë went for a lap around the pitch before heading back towards the hoops. She looked behind and next to her every now and then to see where the others were, happy to spot Sully close as backup and to possibly pass to when they'd get closer to the hoops.

Sierra continued to zigzag around the pitch, humming to herself and wondering what techniques they should try teach the team.

Teach them to nosedive into the pitch Sierra you're a pro
Lysander gave up on the offense and drew back, tailing after the new seeker in order to try focus on keeping bludgers away rather than aiming them toward the opposing team.

Gaining in on the hoops Chloë felt like she was at a good angle to take a shot, putting all her focus on it as she threw the quaffle. She shook her head when she missed the hoop, getting more annoyed by the fact that some of her shots had seemed so sloppy when she knew she could do better than that.

Lysander did lazy loops, keeping an eye out for bludgers. There were none nearby.

Chloë took another shot at goal and Sully just had to figure they all had some holiday rustiness they needed to shake off. He swooped in as Nikko threw the quaffle back in, scooping it up before anyone on team scarlet could react. At the very least he was pleased with his and Chloë's defense. They might not be able to score, but the other team wouldn't be able to either if they kept this up.

This was a bit of a nightmare. Lysander thought if Leonidas could see him now, he'd have second-guessed whether he'd be a good fit for the flying academy. He flew on, batting away a bludger, though it wasn't a particular threat, nor did it go toward anyone else.

Shaking off another failed attempt Chloë regained her focus when Sully caught the quaffle, glad that they at least seemed to be succesful at something as she followed him.

(My screen (phone) moved & I somehow pressed the wrong button sorry!!)

I would maybe just "score" during your next fail instead?
Lysander broke away from the player he was tailing to chase after a bludger that seemed close enough, though as it rocketed away from him he gave up, waiting for it to come back around instead.

[glad someone finally scored :r]
Weaving back towards the hoops, Sully passed the quaffle to Chloë hoping she might have a better shot at goal. @Chloe Thompson

(what a wild ride)

Chloë caught the quaffle when Sully passed it to her as they neared the hoops, feeling like they were working together as a team pretty well. She was quick to make use of the quaffle as she aimed it at the right hoop, turning around with a little cheer when she finally managed to get it through.

Lysander was pleased to see the team finally make a goal. After their relentless tries against the new keeper it didn't feel like the biggest victory, but it was a goal. He just had to hope they would all be more prepared come their actual match. He flew off, and slugged a bludger victoriously as he passed it, sending it spiraling toward @Emma van Houten.

He couldn't help but cheer when someone finally managed to score. Maybe this was the start of something. Especially when he happened to catch a glance of the snitch, wasting no time in shooting off after it, determined not to let it out of his sight. And then his fingers were finally wrapping around the little golden ball, pulling up to a stop as he stared at it for just a moment just to make sure he wasn't actually hallucinating. "Finally," was all he offered with a huff of relief, opening up his fingers again and letting the little golden ball flutter away again.
