The results of the Quidditch tryouts had been interesting, to say the least. Celia was relieved that Liusaidh wouldn't be captaining the team on her own, though she wasn't sure how effective of a leader Eleanor would be. She was also curious to see how Ivelisse would fare as their starting seeker. Celia was a bit disappointed that she was no longer the youngest starter on the team, but hopefully the change would mean more Slytherin victories. Surely, Ivelisse couldn't do any worse than Ruben, who Celia still blamed for their third-place finish last year.
At the end of the day, though, Celia didn't particularly care how her teammates did. She was sure she could shine on her own. That was one of the advantages of the beater position. Hufflepuff's beaters had proved as much last year. Celia arrived at the pitch early, shooting Eleanor a friendly smile. There was no point in getting on the captain's bad side if she could help it. It seemed she was one of the first to arrive, and she decided to take advantage of the extra time to do a last-minute inspection of her broom, checking for bent and loose twigs.
