Looking at his team in front of him, Blake didn't quite know how to process his mix of emotions. This would be his final year as captain of the Slytherin team, his final year leading a team of champions. Though he had begun looking into openings on professional teams, it was difficult to know what the future held. All he could really do was give this year his all, and hopefully walk away with a trophy to show for it. "Alright, listen up!" He called out once the team were all assembled in front of him. "You should consider yourselves lucky to be part of a champion team. There are kids in this school who would kill to stand where you are right now, and if you don't give me everything you've got, I might just ask them to. Quidditch is a commitment, and I'm going to be watching each and every one of you. Miss a practice, and you'll be getting really familiar with the bench." He said firmly, giving each member of the team a serious glare. "We're here to win, and winning takes hard work. Beaters, focus on the Seekers. Chasers, I want to see teamwork, passing. Mordred, Ruben, you guys both know what you're doing." He reached down for the whistle around his neck, raising it to his lips before he spoke again. "Alright, brooms in the air, no hesitation!" He gave the whistle a sharp blow before kicking off himself, beginning his search for the snitch.

OOCOut of Character:
Practice begins immediately, no arrivals! Practice will be ending on Feb. 19th to make way for our first match.

Indi was ecstatic that she made the team and couldn't wait to start practice. Part of her was thrilled she had made the team over Natalia but there was another part of her that wished Natalia made the team only so she could show the other girl up in practice. But she would have to deal. She still thought the captain was a bit intense but their house was the reigning champions and have been for a while apparently, so maybe he was on to something. Indi took Blake's order of no hesitation in stride and kicked off the ground quickly. She had gotten a bit more steady on her broom since last year and snatched the quaffle before any one else could and started towards the goal.

Blake kicked off with the rest of the team after blowing his whistle, launching into the air and beginning his search for the snitch, though he kept one eye on the rest of the team to see how the new players integrated in with the old, and who was excelling.

Indi knew she was supposed to be practicing team work or whatever but she couldn't help but try and score as she approached the hoops. She drew her arm back and tossed the quaffle and it fell short. She frowned. Good thing she was here to practice.

Daintree arrived at the pitch, grabbed his beater bat and then shot up into the air. He was ready for this and immediately began watching out for bludgers.

After the first girl failed to score, Liusaidh rushed forward and grabbed the ball. She tucked it under her arm and intending to do a quick loop before trying to score herself.

Blake kept one eye on the Chasers as he circled the pitch in the hunt for the snitch, calling out to Indira as he flew past. "More follow through with your right arm, good aim though!" He shouted, giving her a thumbs up before turning his attention back to the snitch.

Lucie was very much excited to have made it on the Slytherin quidditch team. She made her way promptly to the pitch with her hand-me-down broom in hand for her first ever practice with the team. The captain yet again made a rather convincing speech before allowing everyone to begin, and Lucie was thankful that her captain was like that. After all, it really motivated her. When instructed, she mounted her broom off into the sky with her beater's bat in hand. The first person attempted to score, but failed, and Lucie frowned at this and only hoped it would improve. It didn't take long before the second year found a bludger soaring towards her and she quickly swung her bat back. The bat collided with the bludger, sending it straight towards @Liusaidh Fergusson who currently had the quaffle.

Blake flew a wider circle around the pitch as he continued to search for the snitch, trying to split his attention between helping his teammates and finding the golden ball.

Jasper followed Liusaidh who had the quaffle, dodging out of the way when a bludger was hit at her. Thankfully, he wasn't caught in the crossfire.

Indi was still a bit annoyed that she had missed her first shot but she appreciated the vote of confidence from the captain. She followed close behind the other chasers, hoping they might pass to her and she'd get another chance to make a goal.

Liusaidh used a few rather choice swears as she was hit with the bludger, and as she'd been just about to throw the ball, she ended up missing. She rolled her eyes and glared at the beater.

Ruben was glad to be on the team again, even has an alternate. He didn't waste much time on the ground, since Blake kept his speech brief. The boy grabbed his broom and flew high up and started to look for the snitch

Blake was well in the habit of focusing on beaters while he searched, so he didn't miss Lucie making her very first shot, giving the girl a thumbs up from afar. "Good shot!"

Indi winced as one of the other chasers got hit with a bludger. It looked like it hurt and she tried to keep an eye out for them. But she did use the opening to scoop up the quaffle again and started around the pitch before she could make another shot.

Blake stayed alert as he searched the pitch for any sign of the snitch, hoping his practice with the van Houtens over the holidays had paid off.

If Mordred had hair long enough to flip, he would have whipped it back and forth as Blake said, "You know what to do." "Damn straight I do," he muttered and flew into the sky after offering @Ruben Right a high-five. He was the seeker Mo actually liked. He was definitely going to be keeping himself busy this practice. The chasers were going at it!

Ruben was still thinking about the high five that @Mordred Cavanaugh had gave him. He couldn't help but feel kinda proud-ish that a seventh year noticed him enough to high five him. Even with them being teammates in the previous year Ruben didn't expected to be noticed, but it felt hella good.
He tried to shake those distracting thoughts from his head and keep his search for the snitch.

Indi was hoping her luck had changed when she saw the hoops fast approaching. She tried to listen to Blake's advice and have more follow through, whatever that meant. This time it was blocked but the keeper and she cursed under her breath. At least she was improving slightly.

Lucie beamed as the Slytherin captain congratulated her on her efforts. The chaser rolled her eyes at her but frankly Lucie didn't care. It was part of the game, and if the chaser was going to hate her for that then that was her problem. With a shrug, the second year just continued to circle the pitch as she kept an eye out for more bludgers coming her way.

Indi waited for the quaffle to be thrown back into play and kept close to the other chasers, not wanting to be left behind just because she was new.

Daintree had to admit he was a bit jealous of the young beater managing it, but what did it matter. He just continued in his pursuit for bludgers to hit.

Liusaidh moved forward and caught the ball after it was thrown back out, she knew she'd have more chance now. So she'd press towards the hoops.

Lucie watched as the quaffle was thrown back out and caught by the same chaser she had hit moments before, all the while keeping an eye out for any bludgers that could be coming her way.

Ruben was not being very lucky on finding the snitch. He started to fly around the pitch at a slow pace while looking everywhere for the snitch.
