Slytherin Quidditch Practice Y37/S1

Blake had nearly finished his full lap of the lower area of the pitch, frustrated that he hadn't seen anything. When he reached the area he had started he pulled his broom higher, figuring perhaps the snitch was hiding amongst the seats somewhere.

Could one call it luck still if the same person caught the snitch four times? Perhaps, though it had to run out at some point. Paige flew by a bludger and with a loud crack send it flying towards the younger Seeker again, hitting the boy in the back.

The crack of a beater's bat caught Blake's attention and he looked up in time to see Ruben getting hit, tensing slightly. As frustrated as he was, Ruben was young, and he didn't actually want the kid getting hurt. "Change targets for a bit, Paige!" He called out to the beater, giving her a thumbs up. Sass aside, Blake was very aware of what a valuable player she was, and wanted to encourage her enthusiasm. Not so much it would put Ruben in the hospital after his first practice though, which was certainly the way things were going. "You alright, Ruben?"
@Paige Thompson @Ruben Right

((Just a reminder for new players that 3 bludger hits means you're out, be it practice or a match! As Ruben's currently taken two hits he's at risk of hospitalisation. If this were a real match, his chances of catching the snitch would also be reduced by each bludger hit, but that doesn't happen in practices. Beaters should give Ruben a bit of a break & focus on other targets so he isn't taken out of practice entirely :p ))

It was hard to feel sorry for Ruben from a Beater's perspective, as she was really only doing her job, but she didn't want to send him to the hospital wing on his first-ever practice with the team. Paige nodded at Blake's words and circled the pitch for a bit, looking for bludgers once more.

After giving Ruben a once-over to make sure the younger boy wasn't in immediate need of medical attention Blake flew off again, hoping he could get a good catch in while Ruben was distracted.

Jasper grabbed the quaffle again as it was thrown into play, and looked around for other chasers to pass it onto.

Ruben was completely caught off guard when a bludger hit him in the back, he was not missing the pain. He controlled himself from crying in pain, he just had to suck it up for a bit. Blake came towards him and Ruben gave him a big smile pretending everything was alright "Yeah I'm fine. End up in the hospital wing remember?" he said reminding Blake of his initial words thinking they were valid for both, but having zero intention of actually ending up there.
After that he returned to his snitch seeking job, he couldn't let two bludger hits take the best of him or at least he should pretend that they couldn't.

Daintree was just not having as much success as others, but the practice was still new, he'd have plenty of chances soon. He just had to keep pushing.

Liusaidh was frustrated to no end that she hadn't had the ball yet, just always in the wrong place at the wrong time it seemed. She followed the old chaser as he grabbed the ball again.

Penny felt bad for Ruben who had become the beater's target. She decided to aim for someone else but her target was off and she missed.

Blake gave a small snort of laughter as Ruben echoed his words back, nodding once. "Ideally not during your first practice, though. Wanna keep you in the air as long as possible." He said firmly before flying off across the pitch, hoping Ruben would be too distracted by pain to pull further ahead.

Paige zigzagged across the field in pursuit of a bludger, determined to catch up to it so she could do her job.

Ruben felt a little better that Blake laughed just a bit. Maybe he wasn't as mad as he seemed for not catching the snitch, or maybe Ruben was just overthinking the whole situation and was presuming wrongly that he was even mad about it.
He kept his search for the snitch, trying to search every square foot of the pitch.

Blake decided to fly high for a bit, having had no luck close to the ground, and started searching the sky over the pitch for any glimmer of gold.

Ruben was flying a bit lower looking for the snitch everywhere and trying not to lose hope of ever finding the golden orb again.

2a)

Tres scowled when Jasper managed to get the ball back off her and score. She followed around on his tail for a bit, hoping to prove him wrong that she was still good enough herself, and as he tried to throw it to the younger girl, which Tres thought was ridiculous anyway since she wasn't needing as much practise as Tres anyway, the fifth year darted forward and snatched it before the younger could. "Guess passing isn't your strong suit," she muttered to the boy, tucking the Quaffle under her arm and wanting to show Blake he'd made a good choice in picking her after all.

Paige was still playing catch up with the bludger she'd been following across the pitch, finding it rather difficult to catch up with it at. She wouldn't give up just yet though.

Ruben was still searching for the snitch, the little thing was proving to be very hard to find but he wasn't giving up any time soon.

Blake continued searching the sky over the stands, hoping for any sign of the snitch nearby.

Ruben suddenly saw the snitch and chased after it. He was flying right behind it when by the corner of his eye he saw bludger flying towards him which he succeeded at dodging but that lead him to lose the snitch out of sight again.

As Tres came up towards the hoops, she was determined not to get distracted by anyone else on the team, she concentrated just on scoring the goal. She threw it straight through the hoop, delighted at herself as she got a chance to prove herself. That would serve anyone who tried to steal it from her again and she smirked in the Captains direction.

When Paige finally caught up to the bludger she had been following for the past couple of minutes, she gave it a good whack with her bat and send it straight towards their captain.

@Blake Irons

Ruben was looking for the snitch when he heard a loud smack, he turned around and saw Blake getting hit by a bludger. He remembered that when he got hit Blake cared to know how he was so he flew towards the captain and stopped looking for the snitch, to check on him too "You alright?" he asked.

Penny continued to chase after bludgers but hadn't manage to get one on aim yet. She carried on, determined to get something by the end of practice.
