Open Planting A Wiggentree - SDA & WPC

When Alistair spoke, Tyler tried his best not to tune out. But he didn't really think anything their leader had to say about this event would be very interesting. He was proven wrong when the older boy went into detail about his own experience, dropping in that he had been bitten by a werewolf. Tyler stared at the prefect in horror, taking a step back immediately. He nodded mutely at Blake's words. "Yeah." He agreed, looking on in horror. "That's... you think professors know?" He paused, letting it sink in. Of course they did. He wrinkled his nose in obvious disgust, then turned away from the president. He was a prefect too. "Should we go?" He asked Blake quietly. Did they really want to stay here and support this?

The digging part was the most fun. Sander grinned at Wendall's cousin as he joined her in scooping up fistfuls of soil, albeit less aggressively than the redhead was attacking the ground with her shovel. He hadn't been bothered to find some tools to make it any easier, but he did have to watch out for his fingers around some of the others who had come by. He paused and sat back on his haunches when Alistair began to talk to everybody. The Wiggentree sounded wicked, and he thought it was super cool that they'd have a magical tree to protect them from evil creatures right there on the school grounds. He supposed they weren't all evil though. Alistair wasn't so bad and he was one of them, a fact Sander didn't realise he was so open about now. He didn't really know why people had to keep it a secret for so long, being a werewolf sounded sort of cool. Like an animagus, but a bit different. Everyone he'd asked said it was a lot worse than just that, but he'd yet to see why, and no one would explain it to him.

When Alistair had finished, Lysander didn't fail to notice one of the boys who had been digging with him cringe away. Nosey as he was, he rose to his feet and brushed the dirt from his hands onto his otherwise clean shirt, straining to overhear what the issue was. His mouth dropped open when he heard one of the boys not-so-quietly refer to his cousin as gross for being a werewolf, among other nasty comments. What was his problem?! The sheer tone of disgust was enough to make Lysander angry, and his hands balled into tight fists before he charged over toward the boy. "Hey, hey you! You better take that back!" He yelled, throwing his hands out to shove the older Slytherin as hard as he could.
@Blake Irons @Tyler Lee

Leda was half aware that Alistair was addressing the crowd about the tree, but the Slytherin didn’t look up to anyone and continued to work instead. A few other people started to help out too, although she didn’t know who they were. When he admitted to everyone that he was a werewolf, she thought it was a bit of dumb idea that everyone now knew, since information like that should have been saved for a special few. The sixth year looked up though when one of the younger boys that had been working near her stood up, and proceeded to head across to Blake, giving him a shove. He reminded her a bit of when she’d stood up to James, but on this occasion she wasn’t sure what Blake had done to deserve it. She stood up herself, frowning as he turned on her best back up seeker, “Hey, leave him alone!” She called out, hoping a fight wasn’t about to break out.

Elio began to head back over to the group, trusting that the younger boy wouldn’t lose his camera, but he had a feeling he would look after it. He wasn’t sure whether to mingle though, he didn’t know many people. Instead he stood near Alice and William, at least those students he knew the names of from his own year. As the SDA President was talking about the tree, he was curious if it really did work or whether it was actually some kind of placebo effect. When he admitted to everyone that he was actually a werewolf, his jaw hit the floor for a few seconds before he realised what he was doing and closed it. He wanted to go and talk to him about it, but the atmosphere in the area seemed to change and some of the students around him seemed more annoyed than supportive at the fact. One of the kids even tried to push over one of the Slytherin boys, and it didn’t take long for Leda to retaliate too. This was quickly going to turn bad if someone didn’t step in. “Alistair? Is that dangerous for others at school? How do you manage it?” He asked, purposely trying to turn the attention to answers. If those that were made uncomfortable by it knew that actually there was minimal threat, they wouldn’t feel so bad.

Ilija was glad when the others introduced themselves, although his cheeks turned scarlet when he was asked if Padme was his sister. “Er..no” he was too shocked for words. What were they right now? He knew they were friends of course, but they seemed to be in some limbo area where they weren’t quite in a relationship yet, even though they’d started dating. He was more than released when the subject changed and they were spoken to about the tree. By the sounds of it it was more powerful than anything else, and the Hufflepuff wondered why all trees didn’t do that. They should have planted these trees around the forbidden forest so that anyone that did wander too close by was protected. A new commotion began with the students, and Ilija quietly sighed to himself. Why did he also seem to get involved with things like this? At least this time, Alice wasn’t by herself if Eric tried to do anything. Last time he’d wished he could have been there to defend her, so the fourth year was quietly watching to see how this would play out.

It took Nell a second to put together what she had heard when Ilija answered her, but a moment later she looked back at their hands, then at their faces in shock. Neither of the pair were in Nell's own year... Ilija was clearly older, and Padme was clearly younger, and that meant... "EW!" Nell said in horror, stepping back from Ilija. "She's what, like, twelve?! You're a teenager, you can't be dating kids, that's super gross!" Nell took another step back, repulsed and worried for Padme's safety, and opened her mouth to lay into Ilija again when Alistair called for attention, distracting her. At first, Nell was just gritting her teeth through the speech, hoping it would be over quickly so she could return her attention to the situation that had presented itself, but before long Alistair managed to distract her almost entirely. He was a werewolf. Nell didn't think she had ever met a werewolf before, and it surprised her that one could be someone as normal as Alistair. Though as soon as she thought about it, she didn't know why that was surprising. Anyone could get bitten, and really, that had been a silly thing to think, and Nell felt a bit ashamed of herself. Once his speech was over Nell was for once lulled into silence, thinking about the thought she had just had. It was one she was ashamed to have had, even if she hadn't said it out loud, and Nell felt bad about it. She was distracted yet again as another fight started to break out, gritting her teeth in frustration. This was a nightmare.

Blake was about to agree with Tyler that they should just leave for their own safety, when he heard someone shouting. What was it now?! It took him a moment to realise the shouting was directed at him, and in that moment two hands had managed to connect and shove him back. Blake stumbled, caught off guard, and glared at the kid who had shoved him. "Hey!" Blake snapped, stopping himself a moment from retaliating with a shove of his own. No. Leda had cut in, she was on his side, and she obviously hadn't heard Blake. Unlike this kid who was freaking out on him. "I didn't do anything!" Blake said instead, raising his hands innocently. "I'm not gonna hurt a little kid!"

Connor listened carefully as the older boy explained how to use his camera, still not entirely convinced he wasn't being tricked somehow. It was pretty easy though, and Connor kept the camera held to his face, staying hidden as he followed the older boy back to the group. This was nice, actually. He could watch the people around him like they were on TV, in a different world to his own. He looked over as Alistair began to give a speech, taking a couple of experimental photos of the club's leader. This was fun, actually. Connor didn't pay much attention to what was going on, staying away from Eric and taking a few pictures at random of people standing around. That was, until he saw Lysander starting a fight with an older boy. What was he doing?! Connor shrunk back, staying hidden behind the camera and retreating towards the bushes again. Maybe hiding had been a better decision after all.

It wasn’t that weird, was it? Padme was thirteen and he’d only just turned fifteen, and so it seemed innocent enough to the Hufflepuff that they could be dating. The fact that Nell was so openly critical however, cause the fourth year let go of the girls hand completely, slinking backwards and making use of the commotion to disappear from the group all together. One of the other kids seemed to have the right idea by staying away, and with tears threatening to sting his eyes, and show themselves to the group around them, Ilija headed back up to the castle before he could be humiliated anymore.

Lysander was almost shocked when Wendall's cousin turned on him, and not the dumb kid insulting werewolves, though not nearly as shocked as he was when the boy tried to play innocent about it. "That's not true! He's a stupid liar. He said werewolves were gross!" He shouted, jabbing a finger toward the older kid. "I'm not a little kid! You better watch out." He couldn't believe the redhead would take this boys side over his. Lysander was Wendall's friend! Surely that had to mean something because they were related or whatever. The other boy deserved way more than just a shove.

Judging by some of the responses around him, not everyone seemed to be cottoned on to the whole lycanthrope thing. Alistair had assumed everyone knew it as a fact by now. At least, that's how it had felt. He skin crawled just thinking about the fact that some people were looking at him in a whole new, unflattering light. He didn't want to think about it, and turned away to focus on the task at hand. He was grateful for Phoebe and Willows's help in removing the sapling from its pot, and paused to respond to Jasper when he joined in lending a hand. In all honesty, Alistair had no idea if what he was doing was totally correct. He wasn't a member of the Wild Patch himself for good reason. "That looks right. Make sure they can't fall over and it should be perfect." He offered. He was distracted by a commotion only slightly further away, and frowned when he realised Lysander and Leda were involved. Could his club not go five minutes without strife? Merlin's beard. Before he could step over to intervene himself, a younger student asked him how he managed his condition, and he left the others to their argument to answer. It was probably on a lot of their minds, and he was eager to draw any attention away from those arguing. "I manage it with wolfsbane, and I'm not on the school grounds on a full moon. No one's in any danger. I don't turn into some wild, ramping beast. No one has to worry." It wasn't completely true, though technically he was under the school grounds instead of on top of it, so it wasn't a complete lie either. "If anyone has questions, then ask. I'm not going to bite. It's better that you know than you don't." He said. He helped to move the sapling into the hole a few of the students had made space for, and stepped back to let one of the girls add more mulch. It looked good, and he was sad he couldn't be there to watch it grow over the years. "All we need to do now is water it and use the spells I mentioned before, then we're done and everyone is welcome to go along on their own way."

Eric mostly stayed away from the group. He spotted Connor and kept an eye on him, but his brother seemed to be fine. Somehow, it seemed like an older boy was also taking care of him a bit. Eric wasn't sure how he felt about that, but at least Connor looked pretty happy taking photos. Their president talked, and Eric listened sullenly. He thought the whole story about the tree was kind of dumb, but then he started talking about himself, telling them a story that made Eric shiver. That sounded awful, and he glanced at the older boy out of the corner of his eye. Was he a werewolf then? He guessed so. That was kind of weird, but Eric's mother had always taught him that they were just people... especially now that there was some potion to make them not very dangerous. Eric still didn't like him much, but he had to admit he felt a little bad. Not that he would show it. He was surprised when a fight broke out, but a little glad as well. He couldn't help but be relieved it had nothing to do with him for once, and stayed back to watch the chaos unfold. He hadn't expected people to react badly to the boy's news, but he guessed he should have. Some first year Gryffindor was getting really upset about it, though the president tried to diffuse the situation. Eric watched the boys who were upset, wondering if this was really solved now or if it would escalate more. No matter what happened, Eric was determined to stay out of it this time.
