Hufflepuff Practice Y43 S1

Chase tried to swing his bat at a bludger that passed him by and completely missed it. He didn't really care though, just swinging his bat at things was already a better way to let out his frustrations than he had imagined.

Felix kept looking.

Chase looked around for more bludgers, barely swerving in time to keep one from slamming straight into him.

Leonardo approached quickly and threw the ball with even more determination, glad when this time it sailed in.

Felix flew around the north hoops hoping to find the snitch hiding around them.

Penny kept flying around, looking for the snitch.

Chase swung his bat at another bludger and send it flying in no particular direction.

Rene was impressed to see Chase doing so well already, though his aim seemed a little random, he definitely had the power. Lining up a shot when spotted Felix to the North, Rene grinned as the bludger shot through the mist and into @Felix Carnahan.

Felix let out a strangled cry as a bludger slammed into him out of nowhere until he spotted Rene. He shot the older boy a pleading look before continuing his search.

Rene hovered just enough to squint through the light rain and make sure Felix was okay before continuing on. It was hard enough to keep track of the bludgers in the poor visibility to he had sympathy for the seekers, barely spotting an incoming bludger. He tried to knock it gently towards their new beater but he'd moved too slow and had to hit hard to avoid taking a hit himself, sending the bludger much harder than he meant as it shot at @Chase Campbell

Penny was scared of bludgers, but had so far managed to stay away from them. She didn't spot the snitch anywhere, though.

Zag was quite unprepared for the sudden bludger heading his way, losing his grip on his broom as he tried to swerve out of the way of it. He always forgot how much those things hurt until they were being pelted at him. Hopefully it would be the last time.

Fin decided it was about time he got into the action himself, swooping around to grab the quaffle off the inbound after Leo's score.

Leonardo followed the young chaser with the ball.

Renata didn't also grab the quaffle, but instead kept an eye on Finley, wanting to see how the younger boy did.

Rene was glad to see the chasers working together well, especially with Finley already feeling confident enough to take possession. It was a little unfair, but he couldn't resist sending a bludger @Veronique Chatelain's way, curious to see if it would help or hinder Finley's next shot.

Pulling up to the hoop, Finley tried his first shot, though it felt bad coming off his hand. Scrunching his nose slightly, it appeared as though he was correct as the quaffle went wide of the hoops and missed completely.

Penny kept flying around.

Chase hadn't thought about a lot of things when he had tried out for the team and getting hit by bludgers himself was one of them. The only thing he had really thought about was how it might be fun to hit them. Not to get hit by them. Especially with as much force as the bludger that slammed into his leg had behind it. At least not during practice. The impact knocked him off course and caused his broom to spin which made Chase grip on tighter in an attempt to keep himself from falling off. The weather wasn't much help either and he could only hope he wouldn't crash into someone when it took him a minute to try and get his broom steady again.

Felix tried to keep a good attitude but the weather and lack of snitch sightings was making it hard.

Rene glanced across the pitch as he watched Chase spin, hoping he wouldn't need to intervene. He'd been hit by enough bludgers to know how much it sucked but at least Chase hadn't fallen off or cried, which was more than Rene could say for when he'd first started playing beater.

"Good effort!" Renata called, wanting to be encouraging. She flew in to pick up the quaffle after it was thrown out. She had started poorly as a beater, then a chaser, and had improved a lot since she started. It was all about persistence, she knew. Even if persistence would never make her not tone deaf it at least helped improve Quidditch skills.

Leonardo followed Renata as she caught the quaffle.

After he managed to steady his broom Chase glanced around to see where the bludgers were headed.

Zagreus stayed ready in front of the hoops, hoping to make another save.
