Amy was pleased with the team that Connor and her had decided on. She hoped that this year would go well, especially since she knew that every practice or game she did was one step closer to her last. Getting everything set up, Amy waited for the others to get changed before gathering everyone up.

"Alrighty guys, welcome to the first practice of the year! We're going to try and get back into the swing of things, I know how hard it is to get back into after the break. Chasers, lets focus on some passing too, so it's nice and tight during the games. Beaters, you guys know what you're doing. Seekers, good luck, and Linden, get some catches in!" Amy waited to see if Connor had anything to add before blowing the whistle.

OOCOut of Character:
No arrivals this time, just get straight into practicing!

Connor couldn't quite believe he was standing beside Amy as her co-captain, even now having had the try-outs and team picking process to adjust. He felt wrong somehow, standing in yet another position he didn't quite deserve, but here he was. And despite all the fear he would be proud of himself, were it not for this being yet another way he was forced to be around Lucas. What had once been nice time spent together only served to fuel Connor's guilt and tighten his heart. It was a relief when Amy started the practice off quickly and Connor kicked off with the rest of the team, taking his place in the air with bat in hand and hoping to work out his feelings while he played.

René had never been more relieved than when he saw the team lineup posted in the common room. He'd half convinced himself he'd made a terrible mistake switching to beater and Sully would never let him live it down. Thankfully, he'd managed to snag another alternate position on the team, and while Sully would still probably give him grief for it, René was still tentatively looking forward to playing the new position.

He tried not to fidget too much with his new beaters bat as Amy addressed the team, giving her a bright smile as she addressed the beaters before joining the rest of the team in kicking into the air. Feeling a bit unsure to start, he decided to trail after Connor for awhile, watching what the older beater did and trying to copy his movements.

Jordie was thrilled to see he had made an actual chaser this time, eager to join the others as he rushed out to the pitch. He shot up into the air, grabbing the quaffle straight away and heading for the posts.

Blair was extremely proud that she made it to the team, even if she was there only as an alternate. It wasn't a trouble, she wasn't going to graduate this year, she still had time to end up in an actual team. She patiently listened to what Amy said and when the practise started, she flew up and followed Jordie without thinking twice.

Still trailing after Connor, René took a chance at swinging at a passing bludger, letting out a surprised noise as he whiffed and nearly swung himself off his broom.

Jordie was in too much of a rush; he didn't really check the keeper before throwing the ball. He pouted as it was caught. He would have to try harder next time.

Still feeling a bit wobbly after his last swing at a bludger, René decided he was just going to watch the bludgers and Connor and Tilly before making another move again.

Blair was quite happy to see Jordie fail, so she easily caught the quaffle after it was thrown back into the game and tried to show-off while flying to make her own shot.

Although Tilly would never say this out loud, she was happy to have new targets teammates. She knocked a bludger towards Blair, a transfer student in her year that she hadn't gotten to know yet. Unfortunately, the bludger had a mind of its own. Well, it wouldn't do to waste her energy over missed bludgers. She advanced towards the next bludger while watching out for the one she'd hit.

Connor kept his bat clutched tightly as he circled the pitch, a little distracted from his usual goal as he took on his new task of also keeping an eye on the rest of the team. It felt strange, having so many people to watch over now, but he was going to do his best.

René watched, impressed as Tilly shot a bludger towards one of the new chasers. Even though it missed, it was cool to see her in action now that he had a new appreciation for beaters and he gripped his own bat tighter, hoping he could emulate her actions.

Tilly circled the pitch, trying to figure out her next angle. This was the first time they'd had three Hufflepuff beaters on the pitch since she'd joined the team. She would now really need to watch her back.

Feeling emboldened after Tilly's attempt, René took another shot at a passing bludger. He managed to hit it this time, just barely, and though it didn't make any difference in the bludgers flight, René was still counting it as an improvement.

Blair made her shot at the hoops but she failed too, and she hardly frowned at it. She hated to fail, however, she knew that there were other chances to score.

Connor was pleased to see the other Beaters getting out there, and it reminded him to stop just watching his teammates and get into the action himself. He flew after the bludger Rene had hit and swung for it, aiming for Amy. He knew he should really be going for the Seeker, but targeting Lucas right now felt all kinds of wrong. His choice of target hardly mattered in the end, as the bludger flew harmlessly through the air Amy had vacated moments earlier.

Amy flew off and followed behind the others, giving then a chance to warm up. After Blair missed her shot, Amy caught the quaffle and ducked to miss the bludger Connor aimed at her.

Tilly suspected she'd lost some of her skill over the break after she hit nothing. She would.need to fix that.

Connor kept his bat gripped tight as he moved to circle the pitch, looking around at his fellow players to make sure everything was going well.

Amy couldn't see any of the other chasers around and decided to try and score. She grinned as the quaffle flew through the hoop.

When Amy scored, Blair loudly hurried for her and then caught the quaffle again and fastly took her way to the hoops again.

René watched as Connor knocked another bludger towards Amy, trying to copy the way he'd swung on a few test swings as he continued flying. Spotting the other bludger, he shot forward, swinging his bat like he'd seen Connor do and whooping when he made a good hit, sending it barreling straight into @Hunter Robinson. He hadn't exactly been specifically aiming for Hunter, but it felt good to hit anyone.

Linden made his way to the quidditch pitch. He was looking forward to training today glad that Lucas has made the proper team and that four different Jordie has also made it as chaser. He listened to the intro then took to the sky. There was once again only one keeper so his job was to save goals and unlike try outs he was actually going to try and save them today. There was no point training against someone who was going east on them because in a match that wouldn’t be the case. Each time he saved it he threw it back into the game wi th a call of encouragement or advice to the chaser until Amy managed to get it past home. nice shot amy he called. Before getting back to keeping.

Feeling pretty good about how practice was going so far, René broke away from where he'd been following Connor, tailing after the other bludger. It looked like it was already headed her way, but René still felt pretty pleased with himself when he knocked the bludger forward and into @Tilly Drage, even if it maybe didn't need that much help.

Lucas had contemplated simply not going to practice, but he knew he had to. He pointedly didn't look at Connor, still very hurt by what he had done. The boy was glad to get started quickly and got to the air, looking around for the snitch.
