It was finally the day! Evelyn had been up very early to make sure she looked amazing as a judge. There were ten acts that signed up for the talent show and Evelyn was glad with the number. It was something new, and she understood that not everyone dared to perform in the great hall for lots of people. But she wanted to give people a chance, a podium and she would do that together with Heta Omega. The blonde loved being the president of the club and together with her friends Noemie and Amber she would host this event. The girls from Heta Omega had helped them out with decorating the Great Hall and were normally were sitting the teachers was now standing a amazing stage. Evelyn had asked her dad for some advice and now everything was here and ready for begin. She smiled at Noemie and Amber and waited for everyone to be there. '' Are you guys ready? We have everything right?'' Evelyn checked with her friends. The blonde was curious what the students would perform. There were so many things you could do and she knew music would be sure one of the acts. She was curious about her cousins, who she knew would be very nervous for today. But she didn't want to make people feeld bad, she just wanted to give them a good time. And also the people who would come watching.

When everyone was inside and Evelyn thought it was a good time to start she took Noemie and Amber to the stage. The blonde took the microphone and tapped on it so that people would notice the beginning. The blonde smiled bright and looked into the crowd. She noticed the participants and some seemed nervous some not. But she was sure that they would do amazing. '' Hello everyone! My name is Evelyn and I'm the president of Heta Omega. I want to welcome you all to the first Heta Omega Talent show! !'' She took a moment to catch her breath and than smiled again. '' So we have ten acts today who will perform for us on this stage.'' Evelyn looked over to the talents and smiled. '' We will be the judges for today. We will be honest and kind ofcourse, since this is for fun and nothing else. And we will be awarding three prizes at the end of the show. For best solo act, best duo act and best outfit!'' Evelyn pointed at Amber and Noemie while be saying we and felt very happy to be able to do this with her friends. The blonde than looked over to some of the Heta Omega girls. '' I want to thank the girls from Heta Omega for helping with decorating the Great Hall for this event. Your amazing!'' Evelyn had been writing down a while back what she wanted to say, but Evelyn spoke mostly from her heart and just did what felt right. So she had throwned it away before the show had started. '' You the audience can help us decide with your applause ofcourse! I expect that you will be kind too for the students that will perform. Because when you are not... Someone will point you to the exit. But I'm confident that on this school we will respect eachother. '' Evelyn knew she had to be direct, because she didn't bulliying and as a prefect she felt she had the duty to mention it. '' I want to wish the students that will be performing today the best! I'm very excited to see what your talents are and I hope you all enjoy the show''. Evelyn than looked to Amber and gave a sign she could say what she wanted and explain a bit more.

Evelyn’s idea of hosting a talent show had seemed great to Amber, but actually getting it off the ground was a challenge. But as they stood here in the decorated great hall, she felt proud of their achievements. Amber was holding a clipboard she intended to use to take notes on the performances, and it made her feel very professional. Amber nodded when Evelyn asked if they were ready, though nerves were dancing in her stomach about addressing the crowd watching. At least she didn’t actually have to perform anything. The Hufflepuff followed Evelyn onto the stage, a smile on her face. Strangely, her nerves evaporated once she was there. She knew what they were doing, and she was proud of this show tonight. She stood next to Evelyn with her clipboard in hand, listening to her address the audience. The Gryffindor gave a basic explanation of how the night would go and thanked their fellow Heta Omega members. The Great hall really did look great. She liked that Evelyn addressed the possibility of bullying so directly. It took a lot of courage to stand here, and she didn’t want anyone to be laughed at or mocked.

Once Evelyn finished speaking, she looked to Amber to continue. She was supposed to be going over the rules a bit more. “Thank you Evelyn, it’s a great honor to work on this with you, Noemie and the other great girls of Heta Omega. The acts are a surprise to us too, but I’m sure they’ll be wonderful.” She said, looking over at the performers with a smile. “I’m sure everyone who is participating knows this, but it’s never a bad idea to go over some rules. Only single acts or groups of two are allowed to participate. They have to show some sort of talent on the stage, something the audience can see. Magic is allowed, but please don’t try to cast any spells you haven’t learned or practiced properly for your own safety and others. Talents that aren’t based on magic are just as welcome and appreciated.” She glanced down at her clipboard, where she had noted down a few of the things she wanted to address. “It’s important that you’re on stage on time. If you fail to show, your act will be skipped in favor of the next one on the list. I will repeat the schedule in a moment.” She tucked some hair behind her ear. “For those who signed up as a duo act, it’s also important that both of you make an appearance. Otherwise it won’t count. Now a quick rundown of the schedule, October Alcott will start us off, followed by the duo Uno Bear and Phineas Ellis. Third on today’s schedule is Willow Cullen, who will be followed by Dominique Malone and Winnie Marsh in another duo act. Next is Gideon Zelinksy, followed by Kira Wolf and Avaria Lockwood. Anastasie Vernier will perform after that, followed by three duo acts to finish it up. The last three acts consist of Kauri Tipene with April Ward, Sapphire and Onyx Michaels and Emilia Manning with Athena Holmgaard.” Amber cleared her throat. It had been a lot of information to say quickly, but she thought it was important to remind participants of the order. Amber wanted this to go smoothly, and was determined to help in that regard. She looked over to Noemie for the final part of their opening, where she would lead in to the first performance.

OOCOut of Character:

After your act is announced by one of the judges, you have 24 hours to respond. When it’s your turn, I will notify you about it. I’ll do my very best to be as fast as possible about this, but you should probably pay attention to the thread just in case.
  • In order to be eligible for the best outfit prize, you need to link to a picture of your pb in an outfit.
  • OOC we will try to ensure no single RPer gets more than one prize
  • You have one post to perform your talent in (two for duos. One each)
  • Duos, please try your best to post your two posts close together in time. If the 24 hours pass with only one post up, it’s going to be incredibly difficult for us to explain this away IC. A single act not showing isn't that difficult, but if you have RPed your half of the act and the other person hasn't when the time limit arrives it will be difficult.
  • It’s encouraged (but not required) to link to any music you may use in your act
  • Have fun!!!

Noemie was pleased to actually be utlitising her role within the heta omega, though she was the social chair, since she was so often swept under with the work from the Hogwarts Monthly her dedication to the Heta Omega could occasionally wane, but judging a talent contest with her two friends was going to be the best fun, she knew that they would pick the right person, that they would be fair and equal towards the people who tried, and boy was Noemie happy that so many were trying for it. She had expected it to be an event that people wanted to take part in, but nervous that no one would actually try. It was daunting to get up in front of a whole lot of people and just be able to preform, so it was understandable why some might not. Noemie nodded at Evelyn's question and took to the stage with them both. She was definitely pleased with the prospect of being able to do this, and she followed her friends to the stage. It did look nice, the girls had put a lot of work into this and it certainly was paying off. Noemie found herself a bit daunted by the crowd, but reassured that at the very least she was doing this with her friends. They were good people, and people she liked working with so it did make it slightly easier to be in front of such a crowd.
Noemie listened along to them both as they began to speak, first Evelyn, introducing this place, the event, what the prizes were and just everything to do with the event, much like how'd they pre-decided before coming to the stage, this was after all, Evelyn's baby project and so it would be wrong to take any element of explaining it to people away from her. She was also very glad that they had thought to introduce the section about being nice to one another, since though it should go without saying that people treat everyone else with respect it was also good to go over it and be certain that folk would. She didn't want any of the acts, no matter how terrible they end up being to leave the stage without thinking they had given it their all and without being trodden on by the audience. The part veela looked towards Amber who followed on, going over the outline of the night, and a few other bits and pieces, to ensure that the event would run smoothly and everyone knew the order things were happening in. When she was done it was over to Noemie, who smiled and then started, "Now that we've gone over everything, it's time to get started. So please, join us in welcome to the stage our first act, October Alcott," Noemie announced, she had the easiest of the jobs, and followed the other girls to their seats at the front so that the event could get started and the first performer could go.

Waiting for her name to be called, October took slow, calming breaths to try and still her nerves, smoothing the lines of her tutu for what felt like the hundredth time. It had been a long time since she had felt this nervous before a performance, but it had also been a long time since she had actually performed in front of anyone. October had taken care to keep up with her practice the entire time she had been at Hogwarts, and taking fewer subjects this year it was easier to find time, but it had still been a very long time since she had either danced or played in front of anyone. And today she was going to try something more ambitious than she had ever done before. Though OWL prep was still taking up a majority of her time, October had spent a few days in the arts room perfecting her act, sacrificing a couple of sleepless nights to stay on track with her studies. The exhaustion pulling at her was familiar, but her nerves were doing a good job of fighting it off, running through her routine in her mind over and over as she waited to be called.

And then it was her turn. Opening the show was its own kind of nerve-wracking, but at least hopefully she could set the tone. Nobody could go before her and intimidate her. Taking a deep, steadying breath, October stepped forward, head raised high as she moved onto the stage, dancing the opening steps to the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy in complete silence. She stepped and spun her way onto the stage, taking advantage of this opportunity to show off her ballet skills before they became secondary to her act. About 30 seconds into the routine after a few twirls October paused and pretended to notice the silence, making large, exaggerated gestures to her ears. She shook her head and walked back off into the wings, quickly picking up the instrument she had stashed behind there. Playing the first opening notes of the song offstage in the wings, she gave the audience just enough time to think that she had simply turned on backing music before returning to the stage, dancing a heavily simplified version of the choreography as she played. October had spent hours working on a version of the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy that she could perform while playing the violin, but the choreography wasn’t nearly as complex as the original. Most of her focus was needed on the strings, her legs simply performing a few simple changements and other easy footwork and using bourrées and chaînés turns to glide across the stage. The double focus took all of October’s energy, but after the days she had spent practicing, and with the years of lessons she had in both skills, she was able to complete the routine with only a couple of minor sharp and flat notes, fingers flying across the violin as her feet flew across the stage. At the conclusion of the song October finally lowered from her pointe, panting hard as she actually took in the audience for the first time. Not wanting to forget her manners, October bent into a deep curtsy, before making her way off stage, heart racing as she tried to catch her breath from the exertion.

((Note: October isn’t performing the exact choreography in the violin video obviously, ironically that was just the best solo violin cover I could find of the original song =)) She’s doing something similarly simple though.))

The first person to perform was October, who was actually one of Amber’s friends. She couldn’t help feeling a bit nervous of her friend at first, but that feeling dissipated the moment she stepped onto the stage. It was clear she knew what she was doing. Amber was enjoying her dancing, but did find it odd there was no music. Soon it became clear that this was deliberate, and she couldn’t help grinning as the real act began. Looking down at her clipboard, she took a few notes. It was clear she had worked hard on her act, and it was very impressive. When the act was done, Amber applauded along with the rest of the audience. Then, she glanced at her fellow judges before speaking up. “Thank you, October. I think I speak for all of us when I say I wasn’t expecting that. You did a really great job. A wonderful act to start us off.” She said sincerely. She wouldn’t go into too much detail because it had only been the first act and they couldn’t really say if she was one of the better ones yet or not, but Amber suspected her act would be hard to beat. “Up next are Phineas Ellis and Uno Bear.” She said after consulting her notes. “Please take the stage.”

There were two reasons Phineas hadn’t practised much for the talent show: 1) because his and Uno’s super amazing rap-and-gymnastics routine was sure to win without them even having to try, and 2) because he forgot. What with his exams coming up, rehearsing just hadn’t crossed his mind. He knew the rap by heart, anyway; all he really had to worry about was being in the right place on the stage at the right time, and Uno knowing the routine properly. He waited with the other contestants as October, the first act, took to the stage. Finn was glad he and Uno didn’t have to wait long to perform. October’s act was great, and everything, but it wasn’t very exciting, and three times he had to stifle a yawn. Then at last they were called to the stage. Their big moment! It was time to show the school what they could do. Maybe they would even be so popular, they got famous! Finn could totally imagine it.

Nodding to Uno, he took his place centre stage and waited for her to get into position. They hadn’t prepared any backing music - Finn figured his rapping was all the music Uno needed to dance to. Once she was ready, he started sauntering around the stage, rapping about how awesome he and Uno were and bobbing around to his own beat. The last half of the rap went like this:

“Cause it’s hard to be the best, it’s so tiring need some rest,
But there’s no rest for the wicked and we’re wicked no contest,
So don’t doubt us, we’re cool and you should crown us, even though we haven’t got a whole lot of house points,
That’s all right, we don’t need to fight,
We’re winning cause we’re cooler than you all every night!
Can’t you see it’s true, yellow red and blue, it’s clear to me that Slytherin’s superior to you,
Cause we’ve style, it’s authentic we don’t fake it,
And all your criticism, we just smile, we can take it,
Sly to the core, awesome to the bone,
Phineas and Uno, we’re out go home!”

Finn mimed dropping the mic as he delivered the last line. Boom! He turned around to look for Uno and try to give her a double high-five. He hadn’t really been watching her while he was rapping, but if she had been anywhere near as good as him, they were definitely going to win.

Click to hear me rapping this super badly and quietly because it's late XD

Uno hadn't been thinking about anything else besides their performance. As soon as the two saw that there were Talent Shows, they began brainstorming ideas. It wasn't hard coming up with ideas, the only hard decision was picking which amazing talent they were going to share with the world. While everyone else (Finn included) was studying for exams, Uno was practicing her routine. She wasn't too worried about the exams, and the talent show was far more important to her anyway.
When the first girl went, Uno frowned as no music played while she danced. Had she stolen their idea? Uno had been very secretive about what they were doing, she wondered how she found out. The girl eventually went out with a violin, and Uno sighed a breath of relief. No, she hadn't stolen their idea. But finally, it was there turn. They were going to slay this.
Uno grinned at Finn, raising an eyebrow in return to his nod and took her place on the other side of the stage. As Finn started rapping, Uno began her routine. It wasn't actually much of a routine, rather just her making up things on the spot, but it started with a handstand. That was easy enough to do! Coming down from the handstand wasn't as easy, as she wobbled a little and fell down, but she quickly bounced back up, throwing one hand in the air to keep to the gangsta beats. She kept up with Finn's rhythm, a few high jumps, and spin jumps (really, gymnastics wasn't even that hard), an attempted cart-wheel, finishing with side ways splits as Finn "dropped" his mic. "F**k yeah!" Uno shouted out as Finn finished, before standing up to high five Finn. Panting, and not paying too much attention, one of the hands accidentally hit Finn's face, but the front hand made a connection with his hand so it wasn't all bad. "That was some top s**t right." She muttered to Sharkboy as they headed off the stage.

After October left the stage, Amber flipped the page on her clipboard to the next one so she could take notes on the next act. This was a duo, and she wondered how different that would make the experience. She watched as two first years entered the stage. They were pretty brave, performing in front of an audience at their age. But their act soon became a little baffling. The boy started rapping, and though Amber tried to pay attention to what he was saying she kept getting distracted by the girl moving around the stage. She did a handstand and jumped around before attempting to do a cartwheel. She looked back at the boy who seemed to have finished rapping about how awesome they were, and she wasn’t sure what to say until the girl shouted a curse word on the stage. Amber got to her feet quickly. “Please refrain from that kind of language.” She said sternly with a glance at Professor Pendleton. Then she turned back to the two, her expression softening. “But thank you for the performance, it was very creative and unique. You did a good job.” She was sure the kids worked hard on their act, and wouldn’t say an unkind word about it. “Up next is Willow Cullen. Please take the stage.” Amber took her seat again, not quite sure what to make of this second act.

Willow had no idea why she was here. She was standing in the wings of the stage in the great hall getting ready to perform in the school talent contest. Why on earth had she signed up. She wasn’t talented, sure she enjoyed playing the guitar and singing but her favourite place to do that was curled up in the bow of her dad's boat playing along as he fished. She had also performed a couple of times before but that was at her muggle school in her class assembly and she was playing the rhythm guitar and backing vocals. And back in the school music was a fay for her to fit in, and not be the weird girl who lives out of town who has weird parents who no-one ever sees but who appear out of alleys on unusual occasions without anyone ever seeing where they come from or go. Here it was different. Here she was not weird, didn’t have to hide magic, and while her parents were weird in a lot of ways so were everyone elses.

Today she was going to be on her own. The show began and she clutched her guitar to her chest feeling reassured by its familiar shape and feel in her arms. The heta omega girls introduced the show and she listened to the rules. she had forgotten that there was a prize for best dressed. She hadn’t really tried. She had warn something fun but nothing too eccentric.

She wasn’t sure if she wanted to watch the acts before her or not. She resolved that she wouldn’t but then couldn’t help herself. The first girl that came out to perform was amazing, playing violin and ballet dancing. She wished she had never watched there was no way that she would be able to compete with that. The girl was a perfumer. She clapped as the girl curtseyed and left the stage. The next act was a little more upbeat a couple of first years the boy rapping was okay not that she was a fan of rap but the gymnastics the girl did were impressive. She wasn’t sure if this was an easier act to follow or not. But it was short lived and soon they were high fiving and also leaving the stage. oh ship, it is me next she said. She could practically feel herself shaking as she took a deep breath closed her eyes before stepped onto the stage. She walked up to the mike that was now thankfully now on a stand. She looked into the audience and saw her cousin sitting in the front row. She smiled and felt reassured by her presence. She wasn’t sure how to start so she cleared her throat. ”umm, Hey everyone. I hope that you are having a good time. This song is called ignorance. I hope you like it.” she said starting to play the first few bars as she finished speaking.
As the music started to swell she felt more reassured. She started to block the thought of the audience from her mind as she relaxed into the familiarity of the music. She even started to enjoy herself and dance around a little as she played, and sung. She wasn’t proper dancing like the girls before she had done but rocking along to the music and have a good time performing in a casual natural attitude. letting the lyrics find their own meaning about different times she had wanted to yell at people about their ignorance. be it muggle bullies not knowing about magic, or people thinking they were better than her because they came from a clean bloodline, or had more human parents. or her mum expecting her to be like a mini her.
It wasn’t long until the song began to come to a close as the last note hummed she smiled and took in the audience again seeing them for the first time since she stepped on stage. There were quite a few people she knew in it who she hadn’t seen before. ”Thank you, enjoy the rest of the show” she said bowing her head slightly as thanks before walking off feeling the adrenaline rush hit her as she left the stage. She felt her legs begin to shake and she left the wings and headed into the audience and managed to get a seat next to her cousin before she finally realised what she had done.

OOCOut of Character:
as much as I would like to imagine the act is something like this seeing as it is just her and her guitar it will sound more like this but she did go to the end of the song.

Noemie had been taking notes from all the acts that had preformed thus far. She had hardly been surprised by the varying talent of their contestants, even the two little ones who'd sworn, it was nice to see the kids get involved and maybe they weren't the best but they were definitely trying and she felt pretty happy about that. She watch the next act, Willow Cullen closely, smiling softly as the girl preformed, and when it was over she applauded with the rest, clapping along with others as she took to the stage to introduce the next act, "That was wonderful Willow, I think we could all feel the wonderful energy that you brought to the stage," Noemie said with a warm expression glancing between the girl and the crowd in front of her. "Next up we have, Dominique Malone and Winnie Marsh," She announced, "Ladies, please take to the stage," Noemie finished with before walking off stage and headed back to her seat. She was sure the talent that they had already witness would continue in all of the following acts.

When Winnie heard one of the school clubs was hosting a talent show, she couldn't stop herself from signing up with her friend Domi to participate. For the almost two years Winnie had been attending Hogwarts she always felt like an outcast, but knowing she had an opportunity to be part of a show, and perform on stage where she truly shined changed all of this. She couldn't have thought of scenes more perfect to perform than the ones that depicted the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, a classic play with enough dramatics for both her and Domi to show their talent. At first Winnie was reluctant to play Romeo, knowing Juliet's death was one more dramatic and gruesome in its depiction, although the more she practiced the happier she was with the role. The overall time she and Domi put in to prepare had been intense and distracted Winnie further from her studies, but as she arrived to the show, added the final touches to her costume and recounted her lines in her mind, she believed the effort would be worth the stress of catching up in classes later. This was her chance to prove to herself that no matter how difficult it was for her to pay attention in classes or fit in completely with the other students in her year, there was a place for her in Hogwarts, no matter how small it may be, and such an opportunity was worth anything in her opinion.

As their act was announced, Winnie waited in the wings, allowing Domi to take her place on stage, lying down in the middle to set the scene. After a few moments passed Winnie took in a deep breath and stepped into the spotlight, circling the stage, her eyes looking to Domi as if she were her recently passed love, in awe that she still appeared as beautiful in death as she did in life. It was as she walked closer to Domi that Winnie began her dialog. "How oft when men are at the point of death have they been merry, which their keepers call a lightning before death! Oh, how may I call this a lightning? Oh my love, my wife!" She knelt suddenly at Domi's side, looking her from head to toe, gaze returning to her face as the pitch of her voice heightened. "Death, that hath sucked the honey of thy breath, hath had no power yet upon thy beauty. Thou art not conquered. Beauty’s ensign yet is crimson in thy lips and in thy cheeks, and death’s pale flag is not advanced there."

Winnie turned away from where Domi lay, eyes searching the great hall for an imaginary Tybalt while she delivered her next lines. "Tybalt, liest thou there in thy bloody sheet? Oh, what more favor can I do to thee, than with that and that cut thy youth in twain to sunder his that was thine enemy?" She turned her gaze to the floor, uttering "Forgive me, cousin," in an afterthought, leaning back over to 'Juliet' and referencing the girl while moving her hand to ghost over Domi's cheek lovingly. "Dear Juliet, why art thou yet so fair? Shall I believe that unsubstantial death is amorous, and that the lean abhorred monster keeps thee here in dark to be his paramour?" With a pause, Winnie moved to hold one of Domi's hands in her own, lifting it and placing a kiss on Domi's fingers. "For fear of that, I still will stay with thee, and never from this palace of dim night depart again. Here, here will I remain with worms that are thy chamber maids. Oh, here will I set up my everlasting rest, and shake the yoke of inauspicious stars from this world-wearied flesh." Returning Domi's hand to the stage, Winnie prepared for the finale of her part in the performance.

"Eyes, look your last." She voiced, looking Domi from head to toe a second time. "Arms, take your last embrace." She leaned ever closer, hands on either side of Domi. “And, lips, oh you the doors of breath, seal with a righteous kiss, a dateless bargain to engrossing death.” She closed the remainder of the distance between them, kissing Domi sloppily, in the same way they practiced to create the most dramatic effect. Moving away from Domi, Winnie shifted her weight to sit lazily on the stage, defeated. Trying to emphasise Romeo’s penultimate words, she looked up towards the ceiling, moving her hand to the pocket of her jacket to take out a potion vial filled with water. “Come, bitter conduct, come, unsavory guide. Thou desperate pilot, now at once run on the dashing rocks thy seasick, weary bark. Here’s to my love!” She opened the vial and drank the ‘poison’ in one go, pausing as she imitated the poison’s effect.

With the poison in Romeo’s system and his death imminent, Winnie moved to lay next to Domi, the final words of her monologue as Romeo spoken as if she were falling into a peaceful slumber. “Oh true apothecary, thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die.” She closed her eyes, giving her part in the performance a sense of finality and allowing Domi to begin her own depiction of a star-crossed lover. Surely, it would be just as amazing as her own and the special effects they both planned would be a celebrated dramatic flair.

It was finally here. The moment Domi had been yearning for since arriving at Hogwarts. It was a crime, frankly, for such a large school to have no drama program at all, and Dominique had spent almost two years now aching for the stage, where she truly belonged. She strove to be a star in her regular life every day, of course, but the smell of old curtains, the burn of stage lights, the delighted anxiety of the moments when you heard the audience gathering before the curtains rose, that was what Domi really lived for. If nobody was watching, what was even the point in being such a brilliant actress? But finally, finally someone at this school had seen sense, and at last a fitting venue had been provided for Domi to showcase her true calling. She had always loved doing productions with Winnie when they were kids, and finally they had a chance to reunite, to tackle something a little more mature and challenging, and to really prove to this school what they were made of. Domi was too excited while they waited to even pay any attention to the other acts, warming up as they performed and running through her lines in her mind. Winnie had the more difficult monologue, certainly, and Domi definitely didn't want to mess up any aspect of her shorter piece. Plus, watching the other acts would only make her nervous if they were good.

Their turn in the order approached fast though, and Domi took a last check of her costume as she joined Winnie in the wings, making sure everything was set up as she wanted it. Any malfunction could be the ruin of their act. And then the act before them was over, and their names were being called. Taking a deep breath, Domi switched all of her focus to the scene and quickly took her place lying on the stage, crossing her arms across her chest and settling as still as she could, resisting every impulse she had to look at the audience. And then the act began and Domi remained still, trying to keep her breathing as shallow as she could as she listened to Winnie performing Romeo's monologue. It sounded perfect to Domi, and she couldn't help but feel a twinge of pride in her friend's performance. After so many years of shows together, she really felt as though she and Winnie were growing together into the stars they were meant to be. The pride was interrupted, though, as the moment rapidly approached for the aspect of their performance Domi had been the most nervous about. She and Winnie had practiced the kiss, of course, they wouldn't want something so simple to trip them up on stage, but it was still a little nerve-wracking to be kissed by one of her best friends in front of so many people. But then it was over, and shortly afterwards so was Winnie's monologue. Pushing down the bursting pride in her friend, Domi waited until Winnie's dying moment was over before making a move. Now it was her time to shine.

Stirring with slight movements at first, Domi slowly opened her eyes, blinking as though she hadn't seen light for two days. Looking around in every direction but Winnie's, Domi addressed an imaginary friar, a slight sleepy quaver to her voice as she spoke. "O comfortable Friar! Where is my lord? I do remember well where I should be, and there I am. Where is my Romeo?" As she awoke properly Domi injected a note of frenzy into her voice, sitting up properly. She felt the breaking of Juliet's heart as she finally turned her gaze to the dead form of Romeo, crumpling at once as she realised his fate. "Go, get thee hence, for I will not away!" She cried, pointing the imaginary friar from the stage without her eyes leaving Romeo, drawing tears from within that slowly began to spill down her face as she touched Winnie's face, slumping in defeat as Juliet detected no sign of life in Romeo. Allowing her head to hang, Domi's eyes landed on the vial still in Winnie's hands. "What’s here? A cup, closed in my true love’s hand? Poison, I see, hath been his timeless end."

Tensing a tremble into her hand, Domi lifted the vial from Winnie's grasp, more tears running from her eyes as she saw it was empty. "O churl, drunk all, and left no friendly drop to help me after? I will kiss thy lips. Haply some poison yet doth hang on them, to make me die with a restorative." Leaning closer, Domi kissed Winnie's unresponsive form softly, trying to imagine the agony of kissing her true love for the last time. Pulling back after a moment, Domi's eyes widened slightly. "Thy lips are warm." She said with disbelief, pain in her voice. After lingering on Winnie's face for a moment she sat up, looking into the wings as though she had heard a voice. "Yea, noise? Then I’ll be brief. O happy dagger, this is thy sheath. There rust and let me die." This was the moment. Letting her excited anticipation add very real trembles to her act, Domi reached for the prop dagger at Winnie's hip, taking hold of the hilt and taking a dramatic breath in before plunging the dagger into the bag of fake blood concealed in the layers of her costume. The fake blood began to gush after one stab but Domi added a couple more for good measure, making the best and most horrible sounds of pain she could muster as she did so. Fake blood streaming from her costume and spraying across the stage, Domi swayed once for dramatic effect before finally slumping to lean dead on Winnie in the growing puddle of false blood. Suppressing a grin at how cool the effect looked, Domi couldn't help but think that using far, far more than the recommended amount of fake blood had been entirely worth it.

And finally it was over. It felt almost cruel, to get so brief a taste of the stage and immediately have to give it up again, but Domi wasn't going to worry about that in the buzz of post-performance adrenaline. Beaming with pride, she took Winnie's hand as the two stood up together, a bright smile splitting the fake blood smeared across her face as they took their bows together, joy bursting in Domi's chest.

Evelyn was enjoying the acts so far and let her friends do the word too. She was eager to hear what they had to say and she clapped for the acts that came along. Now the next act was from two girls they were in the same year as Athena and Emilia were and Evelyn went sitting for it. She looked behind her for a moment and noticed a lot of students and smiled for a moment. Than she paid attention to the act that was beginning. The first the she looked at were the clothes ofcourse. Dominique in a beautiful dress and Winnie in something comfy it seemed. The blonde was concentrated when Winnie started to speak. When the act began she already knew what was going on. It was Romeo and Juliet a beautiful but sad story. Evelyn had read it often and she knew it. Both girls were good actors she thought because she was all into the story but when Dominique killed herself and false blood (Evelyn hoped) started to come and the stage Evelyn sighted for a moment. She made sure she wasn't getting hit by it and went sitting at her chair again. It was original ofcourse but disguisting to see. A shame for the dress, but points for creativity the blonde thought. She looked at Amber and Noemie for a moment and after a silence she started to clap for both of the girls. It was very brave of them and they had kissed! Evelyn was sure that Amber would think the same of this. '' Girls! Such creativity. And well acted! Romeo and Juliet is one of my favorite stories, so tragic! Well done both of you! The blood was something.. special and unexpected. Give it up for Winnie and Dominique once again!!'' Evelyn said with a bright smile. The stage had to be cleaned up and she asked two of the Heta Omega girls to help for a moment. She had thought of everything so there were girls that decorated the great hall to help for such things. Evelyn was gratefull for it and thanked the girls. She went standing for a moment and turned to the crowd. '' Are we all enjoying it so far!? We're going to the next act which is: Gideon Zelinsky! Go get them and good luck!'' Evelyn applaused and was curious what the next act would come up with.

Oh, boy. Gideon was in way over his head. Signing up for the talent show was not something the Gryffindor had done with any in-depth thought or consideration, but who could be surprised there? It had been almost something of a dare to do, a friends goading words of "I bet you won't" which had lead to him wanting to show off that he wasn't afraid to get up on some stage in front of the school. He'd done it before when it came to the dueling tournaments, and he did surprisingly well in those cases, so why would this be anything different? At least, that was what he'd thought at the time, that it would be easy and he'd just cruise through it. Since signing up, the boy had quickly realised there wasn't all that much he could do that was considered talented to begin with. Not unless he wanted to show off how many dungbombs he could juggle, but something told him the result of that would earn him a few detentions.

It had taken some thought, but Gideon finally came to a conclusion about what exactly his talent was. He was sure it would be impressive, but standing on the side of the stage, watching the participants perform before him, he began to reconsider. He couldn't play an instrument like some of the others, and that rap, why hadn't he thought to do something like that? That was cool. He thought he could have come up with a fantastic rap too, if he'd actually bothered putting any effort into planning his talent. It was too late to whip up something now, not when he was literally standing there waiting to take the stage, so it was going to have to be his first option. That was fine. He was ready to own it.

The show seemed to drag on forever, despite it only being a small handful of students so far, but finally Gideon heard his name said. Taking to the stage, the boy waved his hellos and gave a couple of thumbs up to his friends in the audience. He had this. It was his time to shine. "Hey everyone. My name is Gideon Zelinsky, and I'm here to show you my talent. Ahem." He cleared his throat to make sure all eyes were on him, so that no one would miss out on his grand capabilties, and raised his right hand. "I'm double-jointed."

Gideon then proceeded to bend his fingers in an unnatural way for a solid thirty seconds.

"Thank you." He finished, bowing to the audience members before walking back off the stage with his head held high. Nailed it. That would show people who thought he wasn't good at anything.

Amber was glad it didn’t take a lot of effort to clean up the blood. Magic really was handy sometimes, though she thought the girls could have easily done so themselves too. With a sigh, she returned to her seat as the next act was called. A Gryffindor boy stepped onto the stage and introduced himself, which Amber thought was very nice. But then he said his talent was that he was double-jointed and he started bending his fingers in strange ways. Subtly, Amber glanced at her fellow judges, wondering if they knew what to make of this. Time stretched out and it really seemed like this was all he was going to do. He thanked them and bowed, and Amber had to say he did have good manners. There was a silence for a moment before she cleared her throat. “Well, thank you Gideon! That was very interesting.” She said, conjuring a bright smile on her face. “I’m sure not many people can do that.” She added, trying her best to be positive and encouraging. She glanced around again and cleared her throat. “Well, next up are Kira Wolf and Avaria Lockwood! Please take the stage, girls.”

Avaria had been waiting eagerly through the other acts. The girl with the tutu was so pretty! The rap had confused her a bit, but the energy was fun and she couldn't help but clap after. And Willow did awesomely! She'd only met the girl once, but every act that went on made her want to perform even more! If she and Kira did good she would have so much to write home to her papa about.

Ava clapped loudly for the double-jointed boy, letting out an excited squeal when she and Kira were called next. She skipped out onto stage quickly. She made it halfway before she realized she was alone. She paused and turned, hurrying back and grabbing the older brunette. "Hey, it's okay. Remember what Sapphy said," She told her with a bright smile. Kira let out a breath and followed Ava back onto the stage.

Ava skipped over to the piano. Amber had been nice enough to provide it, though it had been hidden near the back. With the right spell from Kira, they moved it easily to the front. "Thank you." She chirped happily, sitting down at the instrument quickly.

She took a breath, and once she was sure Kira had seated herself, she began to play. After a small pause at the beginning, the two quickly fell into an easy rhythm. The song seemed to contradict Ava's usual energy, but throughout the song, she had a look of pure contentment on her face. When the final notes had been played, her eyes slowly opened.

With a broad smile, she hopped up and hugged Kira, giggling happily. It was so much more fun to play with other people. She bowed slightly to the audience and skipped off the stage with Kira in tow. She couldn't wait to tell her papa about it!

Kira couldn't believe she'd let Ava talk her into this. She held her guitar nervously as the other students went on before them. They were all so talented- even if in a few cases she admired their confidence on the stage more than anything they were doing. Of course, Tyra had been all for the talent show and Kira being part of it. She swallowed nervously as their names were called. Okay, you can do this. You can- before she could finish hyping herself, Ava was gone. Great.

Kira took a deep breath. Sure enough, the younger girl was back quickly, towing her out onto the stage with her. Ava skipped over to the piano in the back. Kira drew her wand, moving over a bit. "Accio piano," She murmured quietly, grinning as the heavy instrument slid across the floor soundlessly before coming to a stop in front of her. She still hadn't looked at the audience as she took a seat on the stool behind Ava.

She took another breath to steady herself, blushing a bit when Ava began to play. Kira was quick to join her. Once she began to play, the other people faded away. She had forgotten how easily she was swept away in the music. The piece they'd chosen was peaceful, pretty. It ended too quickly, but Kira had calmed down by the time the song had ended. She stood, offering a shy smile to the crowd, and hurried away after the younger girl.

Amber knew the two young girls on stage were Ravenclaws, and Ravenclaw students could often be very creative. She was curious to see what they would do, though it stood out to her how young they were much like a few of the previous acts. It wasn’t until she compared herself with younger students that it became clear she was graduating relatively soon. She could still clearly remember what it was like to be a first or second year, and she didn’t think she would have been brave enough to be on the stage like this. The girls had another musical act, and Amber sat back to listen to the combination of piano and guitar. It was really nice, and she found herself enjoying the song a lot. It was a peaceful and soft piece of music, something that was nice and relaxing to listen to. When they were done, Amber gave them a wide smile. “That was wonderful. A nice choice of music and very well played. Good job to you both.” She said with a nod. “Next is Anastasie Vernier. Please take the stage." Another young student, she noted. Amber was curious to see what she would do.

When Anastasie saw that there was a talent show that year, the second year did not hesitate signing up. She didn't think people at Hogwarts appreciated music and so was happy to jump at any opportunity to showcase it to them. She had been playing her beloved violin for 5 years now and hoped that she would be able to win the competition as it would definitely lift her spirits if she did. She was more than confident that she could with the experience and passion that she had for it and was just excited to be performing in front of the school.

Anastasie was one of the last to perform which gave the girl plenty of time to prepare herself. She waited backstage as people did their performances, her eyes rolling as the first act had decided to dance around with a violin. Anastasie was sure that she could do much better than that. When it was finally her turn, Anastasie beamed as she picked up her violin and its bow and made her way onto the stage. She stood right in the middle of it in front of the large number of people and carefully raised her violin, resting her chin neatly on the side of it. The sound reverberated around the Great Hall as she dragged the bow gently across the strings, swaying slightly as she let the music take her into a trance. Her fingers shook slightly as she held down the string, creating vibrato, and she closed her eyes, eventually forgetting that the whole school was watching her. When she was done, she slowly lowered her violin and bowed before walking straight off the stage, confident that she could win.

Evelyn enjoyed the acts so far and was surpised by how different all the acts were. Ofcourse there was a lot of music like she had guessed but also other stuff. The blonde had to laugh a bit at the Gryffindor boy it was kind of short but Evelyn couldn't do the same with her fingers so it was a talent for sure. But if she should award him a price? She didn't knew it yet. And was glad that Amber spoke. The next act was also very nice, she enjoyed the two girls that played music together. Than another girl Anastasie from Slytherin joined the stage and Evelyn went sitting for it. She smiled as the girl had her violin with her. Evelyn liked music and listening to it and was wondering how the girl would play. The blonde was silent as the girl played and she smiled when the girl was done and applaused. Evelyn took a moment to say what she thought of the act. '' Thank you Anastasie for this beautiful piece of music. You really are talented.'' Evelyn said with a big smile. '' Another round of applause for Anastasie! So now or next act will be another duo. Kauri and April good luck and have fun!'' Evelyn said with a smile and welcomed the two. She was curious with what kind of creativity they would come.

Kauri had been looking forward to the talent show ever since he first spotted the signup sheet. He didn't really have any performing experience so to speak, but this was a great first taste of what he wanted to do when he grew up. A club activity open to people outside of the club was a fun idea too, and he wondered if he could come up with anything fun for the Brotherhood to do next year, though trying to convince Tristan wasn't exactly an appealing prospect. What was an appealing prospect though, was the act he and April had prepared. Kauri was an alright gymnast, but he didn't really know anything about how to choreograph, so he had left that side of things to April. All the tricks he had found so easy when he was ten were suddenly a lot more difficult with the years that had passed in between. They had practiced though, and Kauri felt ready to take to the stage.

And then their names were called! Kauri took his place in the opposite wing to April, giving her a nervous grin and thumbs up from across the stage. Her costume looked so impressive compared to his, and Kauri couldn't help but wish that he had a more exciting wardrobe. But there was no time for that now. The music that April had picked out began to play, and it was time to begin. Taking position quickly, Kauri cartwheeled across the stage to meet April in the middle, where they high fived. This was great! Beaming even wider than his t-shirt, Kauri gambolled around the stage with April, doing his best to stay in time with her as they did cartwheels and roundoffs and handstands. Kauri didn't realise how exhausting the routine was until it was almost over, both of their final moves their most impressive ones. Kauri had only practiced his back handspring on the grass, and the hard wood of the stage was beginning to feel a little intimidating. It was the finishing moment of their act though, so he had to go for it. Standing behind April as she did her own finishing move, Kauri crouched down and prepared to take off, ignoring the trembles in his arms. Launching off the ground he flew his arms high to catch himself, no longer able to ignore the wobble as his hands hit the ground at an uneven angle, one elbow bending slightly. His momentum carried him over but his angle was off now, and he didn't catch himself properly, barely landing on his feet before toppling backwards right onto his butt. Ignoring the pain and the fact that he would no doubt bruise from this, Kauri smiled through watering eyes and struck a pose on the floor, hoping his mistake hadn't ruined their act. At least it had been fun. In the end, that was what really mattered.

April hadn’t joined Heta Omega because a club full of girls hadn’t really appealed to her, but if they were going to host events like this more often she might consider it. A talent show was exactly the sort of thing that suited her perfectly, she thought the school should really have organized something like this much sooner. April had put on her most glittery outfit, though she had taken the sunglasses off immediately because she would be upside-down a lot for this act and they would fall off for sure. Besides, she wanted people to see her face. They would have to remember it when she finally became famous. She had worked very hard on the choreography and practiced the stunts they were about to do with Kauri outside numerous times. April felt ready to take the stage. She had liked October’s performance a lot too, but she wanted theirs to be more fun and exciting. Hopefully, they could pull that off.

April returned Kauri’s thumbs up and gave him a wide smile too. As the circus music started playing, April cartwheeled out onto the stage at the same time as Kauri did. They met each other in the middle, giving a high five before continuing with the act. April had a wide smile on her face as she moved around the stage, jumping and cartwheeling and doing handstands all the while. It was supposed to go at the same time as Kauri, but occasionally she noticed they were off. But she couldn’t help adding little flourishes to her tricks sometimes, just to make them a little bit more special. She wanted to stand out in people’s minds more than her friend, though she knew that wasn’t very nice so she tried not to do it too much. When it was time for the final part of their act, April got into position in front of Kauri, performing the splits perfectly. She threw her hands in the air and smiled widely at the audience, but vaguely realized things behind her weren’t exactly going as planned. She glanced over at Kauri, noticing he had landed on his butt on the stage and seemed in some pain. “What happened?” She hissed through her teeth as she held onto her grin. “Are you okay?” She realized they should be having this conversation after they were off the stage and quickly got up again. She grabbed Kauri’s hand and helped him up too. They bowed to the audience, and April couldn’t help soaking in the attention for a moment before they made their way to the side of the stage.

The some what awkward landing that the boy had had, was a little concerning to Noemie who didn't really want anyone to get hurt, but it seemed as he was helped to his feet by the girl that everything was fine. Certainly the variety of acts and talents was keeping this event engaging to like both themselves over viewing it and to others were enjoying it. She cheered along with the rest of the people as she walked on to the stage and smiled, "Thank you April and Kauri, that was very impressive," she had thought the act was very good, a little more dangerous than maybe others, but despite the fall they'd pulled it off well. The part veela looked up at the crowd and smiled, "Our penultimate act for the evening will be from Sapphire Michaels & Onyx Michaels," she said happily, not believing it was nearly over, "Good luck," she added before she walked off the stage and re-took her seat, certainly they would have a difficult challenge ahead of them in picking who the winners would be. All the acts had been very deserving of the top prize, but they'd have to pick one.

Onyx walked out onto the stage, nervous and alone. He accio'd the drumset from the back up to the front, before turning and smiling shakily at the crowd. "Hello," he greeted cheerily, his black nails drumming a beat against his leg. "I'm Onyx. Sapphy is my twin sister. Before we start our dual act, I, ah, wanted to show off a bit myself." He lied smoothly, trying to buy time. Without another word, he took a few steps forward and launched into a handstand. He held it shakily a few moments when out of nowhere he felt a hand on his leg push him forward. He hit the stage with a thud. "Ow!" He whined, looking up to see his sister smirking down at him, guitar in hand. "Hey!" He hopped up quickly. "When did you even get that ha-" He stopped when he noticed the photo tucked into the band. "Is that...?" He breathed out, his eyes wide as he reached for it.

He was stopped, however, by the letter she shoved into his chest. He glanced down quickly, noting only the two words underlined in deep red ink as Sapphire began to play the guitar. Their song. He let out an excited whoop. He couldn't grab his sister while she was playing, but he could kiss the back of her neck. He jumped back quickly to avoid her kick, laughing the whole way.

Onyx jumped onto the drums and instantly fell into sync with his twin. He sang loudly, beaming happily at his sister as he beat out the rhythm. She looked so confident, so beautiful. He couldn't regret forcing her into the talent show- not with how she threw herself into the song, or that look on her face.

As soon as the song was over he hopped up and rushed forward. He meant to catch her up in the biggest hug, but she swept down in a bow and he stumbled past her. He barely managed to catch himself from falling on his face. Onyx laughed happily and turned, chasing after his sister as she ran off stage. "Come back here you soft-hearted fool!" He yelled after her cheerily.

Sapphire was rushing back to the Great Hall- she'd slipped out after Ava and Kira's act and she needed to get back before she and Onyx were on. They were supposed to be playing 'Counting Stars'. It was the one song they'd finally agreed on. He had wanted to do some stupid love song and she'd been leaning more towards Evanescence, but in the end, they'd met in the middle. At least, they had.

She'd been a bit... unsure about this whole thing since Onyx had signed them up for this ridiculous show. The first thing she'd done once she'd gotten away from her brother was to complain to Mervyn. What the other Gryffindor had told her had been stuck in her head all day. 'Make it your own.' How was she supposed to do that? Sure, she'd stolen Onyx's hat and made him agree to a song she wouldn't be embarrassed to play. But it wasn't until they were waiting to go on that it had struck her.

She darted backstage again, but Onyx wasn't where she had left him. Cursing silently, she ran out onto the stage, skidding to a halt behind her brother... who was doing a handstand? She raised a brow, tempted to kick him over. If not for the skirt he'd have a combat boot up his bum. As it was, she just pushed him over with her free hand. "For a drama queen, you have no sense of showmanship." She remarked with a smirk. Her eyes widened a tad as he jumped up, and she took a step back. He was not touching her picture. He'd forfeited it to her, and she had no intention of giving it back. She pushed her last letter from Uncle James into Onyx's chest, glad she'd prepared a bit in her mad dash back.

She backed up, taking her place, and began to play. She'd practiced this song on her own, more than once. And while she had never played it with Onyx, she knew he knew it. Not that she would admit it out loud to anyone, but according to Uncle James this was the song her father would play for her mother whenever they got into a big fight. Aside from her brother and the picture, it was all she really had of theirs.

Onyx let out an excited yell and she scrunched her nose at him. She knew she was the smart twin. When he kissed her neck, though, she tried to kick him. He saw it coming and managed to avoid it. He didn't seem to notice the death glare she shot at him as he finally got it in gear. They fell into perfect synch and Sapph couldn't help but think that it just felt... right. Whatever else was going on, this is where the twins always seemed to understand each other.

Sapphire lost herself in the music quickly. She didn't notice her brother's eyes on her, or how her feet turned in a bit as she played, or how she bounced a bit with the bit. Before she knew it, the song was over. She blinked. Sliding a foot back, she held both arms out and bowed slightly. She startled when she felt her brother fly over her. She saw the look in his eye and quickly took off the other way. She'd made it off the stage, at least, before he caught her. They tripped on impact and fell to the floor.

"Alright, alright, get off," She whined, bright red. She wasn't sure if anyone could still see them, but she was embarrassed all the same.

Soooo I changed the twin's act this morning XD I couldn't help but be dramatic. Everything has been so crazy IRL I really wanted to do some silent twin bonding or something. I hope you guys don't mind. Also, Claire gave me permission to quote Mervyn stuff.
