Tristan sat near a few of his fellow prefects to watch the graduation ceremony. It was a little strange to be invited to this, but he did like it. It would help him prepare for his own graduation ceremony, something he absolutely couldn’t wait for. He sat up straight and smiled politely as the headmistress started it off by letting the head boy and girl say their speech. But he barely listened to the head girl’s speech, as he was too busy thinking about what he would say if it was him up there. And if he worked hard and kept his reputation up, he knew he would be the one giving the speech in two years. He clapped politely, though he couldn’t help a slight scoff as the head girl announced she would be running for minister in ten years. Sure, he had similar dreams, but he wasn’t going to shout that out to everyone a decade in advance. It seemed a little desperate to him. Of the graduates, he didn’t know many. He made sure to seem like he was paying close attention to the entire ceremony, even if he was bored out o f his mind simply listening to names being called and watching people step onto the stage to accept their diploma. He watched Ares a little more closely, as he was the one person Tristan really knew a bit better than the others. He was still a little bitter about how the boy had rejected him the previous year, but truthfully a lot of that had been smoothed over when he had been named Vice-President of the brotherhood club. Now that the boy was graduating, Tristan had some plans for where he wanted the club to go. He stayed attentive and invested the entire time, aware that professors were watching everyone. If he wanted to be head boy in two years, he had to be perfect where everyone could see him.
