Professor Misha Haden had been a bit surprised to be asked to help out, he didn't often, but he didn't mind it. Though of course he was feeling a little more tired than usual with the boys keeping him awake. It was nice though, they were adorable. He looked at the two students whose duel he was overseeing. "Let's keep this clean," he said, before inviting them to get started.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels. Duelers cannot cast spells at the spectators or face disqualification.

Lilith was quite nervous as she entered the chamber for her first ever duel. She was even more so nervous when she found out she'd be dueling against her dormmate Magdalene. Well she supposed this could be payback for the bruises the girl had caused in Quidditch, or that was going to be the excuse she'd be actively using to feel less bad about it all. Giving a smile to the Professor and then her opponent she nodded, her wand ready in her hand. "Petrificus Totalus." She said loud and clear casting the spell towards her classmate, she felt a bit bad but wasn't about to let Maggie get the first strike.

Magdalene was nervous to take part in the duel before her twin, and she was even more nervous to go up against her own roommate. She liked competitive sports, but this was quite different. The Ravenclaw bowed and was ready to send a spell when Lilith started first. "Protego," she said quickly, almost missing the chance to block the spell. She turned to look at her roommate and sent back a stunning spell. Stupefy!

Lilith smiled as Maggie used a Protego and soon saw a spell flying her way, "Protego!" She managed to cast the shield just in time, letting out a small sigh of relief. So far so good. "Locomotor Mortis." She fired back towards her dormmates legs.

Maggie was glad to see that Lilith blocked her spell - at least it meant that she was a worthy opponent. She thought about what spell to cast next when she realized her roommate was already sending something her way. Maggie's knees buckled as the spell hit her legs, and she caught herself before making a total face plant. Her legs were bound, but it wasn't going to stop her. She came up to her knees and looked at her opponent. "Petrificus Totalus," she stated, sending the spell across the way.

Lilith let out an involuntary wince as Maggie was hit by the spell. She'd have to apologise after because right now there was a spell being cast at her. "Protego!" She cast in panic and just barely shielded herself. Thank god for that spell. "Expelliarmus!" Lilith said right after, in hopes of disarming her opponent while she was already down figuring that one out.

Maggie managed to stay steady on her knees, deciding that it was the best option at the moment rather than trying to stand. She blocked Lilith's spell and sent back another stunning spell.

Lilith watched as Maggie stayed on her knees, feeling a bit bad but not enough to give up. She quickly shielded herself before switching back to offense. "Rictusempra!"

Maggie was surprised that Lilith was still going. Honestly, she was surprised either of them were still going, as she kind of expected most of the second year duels to be quick by someone missing their chance to block a spell. The Ravenclaw blocked Lilith's next attempt and sent back a slug vomiting curse, something she had been practicing.

Tori would always support Lilith like her friend had always supported her, but with this duel, unlike with the bluebell flame for Eoghan, she had to be a little more creative and instead of a blue flag, or a blue flame, she had created as banner with the stars Vega and Asterope on them.​

Lilith was glad to see that her opponent was still going and putting up a fight, she felt bad until Maggie cast her next curse. Shielding it fast she tilted her head a little. "That was a rude but good one, almost got me." She admitted with a quiet smile, she had almost been caught off guard by the fact that Maggie would cast such curse at her but she supposed everything was on the table in the duels. "Petrificus Totalus!" She cast back, still putting up a fight.

Maggie snickered at Lilith's comment. It was duelling - what did she expect? The Ravenclaw, still on her knees, blocked the girl's offensive spell and sent back her own stunning spell.

Beatrice felt okay about her sister duelling first - it gave her something to go off of. She had watched almost all the duels this year so far, trying to study what spells seemed to do if they hit someone and if they fought through them. So far, nothing of note was really happening in Maggie's duel except her knees being tied, but Maggie was proud her sister was still going. "You've got this, Mags!!" she cheered, wearing her little pom pom shirt from the Pep Club.

Lilith heard somewhere Bea cheering on Maggie and she was glad Bea had her sister there. Lilith had also noticed Tori showing up to support her, with a banner that made her smile happily as she shielded yet another stunning spell. Thinking of what to cast next she supposed she could just send another stunning spell, which she did.

Maggie was almost distracted by her sister's cheering and had to dodge Lilith's spell. Frustrated, she sent back a spell that she hoped would impede her opponent's ability to cast any more spells. "Rictusempra!"

Eoghan knew Lili was likely apprehensive about the duel, and it would be strange to go up against Maggie too. Maggie was smart and Eoghan had seen enough of her around classes as well as on the Quidditch Pitch and with the school paper to know that she was here to win too. Stood next to Tori, Eoghan's eyes were fixed slightly on his girlfriend, breath catching in his chest as the spells were being fired between them. As Maggie sent another one her way, Eoghan gasped when he was convinced it was faster than the previous spells, his hand jerking out to hold Tori's arm. It took him a moment to realise he was holding on to his best friend, "S..sorry," he whispered to the Gryffindor after a few seconds, when he could finally pry his eyes away to glance at Tori, who he noticed now had a banner of stars in front of her. That was a cute way of showing her support.​

Lilith's eyes widened there was a moment where she thought she'd missed her gap to cast her shiel because the spell was approaching her at an alarming speed, but she did just in time manage to cast a Protego and shield herself. Too taken aback by that the second year just stood there, staring where the two spells had collided. Completely forgetting to send her own offensive spell.

Maggie watched as Lilith blocked her spell and then just stood there. She made a confused face at her before looking around. She knew she didn't hit her with the spell or she'd been moving around, but Maggie just decided it was another opportunity to and sent back another stunning spell.

As soon as Lilith recovered from her momentary lapse of attention and she looked back at her dormmate who had a confused expression she just gave a small smile before throwing up another shield. "Forgot how pretty a spell hitting the shield looks like," She said shrugging her shoulders before throwing a stunning spell of her own back at her.

Tori looked down at Eoghan’s hands on her arm and leans her head against his shoulder slightly. Merlin if Demi could see them now. She patted him on the arm and then turned her attention more to Lili so she could watch her friend hopefully win. “Come on Lili, you got this!” She said in a sort of loud whisper, holding her banner where Lili could see it.​

Maggie was still on her knees and still fighting this fight. She blocked Lilith's attempt at disarming her and sent back another slug vomiting curse to her opponent, hoping that it would be the thing to take her out.

Eoghan wasn't even aware that Tori had lent her head on him, too focused trying to see if Lilith was going to win her duel. He squeezed her arm, not breaking eye sight as Maggie sent another spell Lili's way. He knew it would mean they all had to win their first rounds, but Eoghan had to admit it would have been fun to come up against Lili or Tori himself.​

Lilith narrowed her eyes as there was another slug vomiting curse flying her way, if Maggie actually thought she was going to let that one past her she had another thing coming. Lilith blocked it and sent one right back, Maggie wasn't the only dormmate that'd practiced on more advanced curses.
