Killian might not have been able to duel when he was a kid - due to his giant genes, this was the next best thing. He did wonder how dueling was in Hogwarts New Zealand versus the dueling that was over in Durmstrang. Only time would tell. He signed up again this year to help proctor the dueling matches. At least if a spell went sideways and hit him, he will likely not feel it. "Choose opposite ends of the stage. When you are ready, bow to your opponent, and begin. Whoever wins will advance." Killian took a step back and folded his arms across his chest to witness the chaos.​

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!
As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Mania was oh so very proud of herself for winning her first round of duels, now she was on to the next one. Her eyes widened a little as she notes she was against Finfin. Yikies. Getting onto her end of the podium she gave her best friend a bow. "Ooh! This will be fun Finfin! prepare because I am not going easy on you." She said all the while still bowing. As she got up she raised her wand and sent a simple "Expelliarmus!" At her best friend.

If Nia thought she was going to catch him out she was SORELY MISTAKEN!! because he's won against Callie already - well maybe it had been a bit of an easy win, but she hadn't exactly struggled to get here either, he'd watched her try to teach Angelo and then callously knock him out. He'd seen it with his own two eyes. "Protego! Stupefy!" He hoped he got her!

Mania all but grinned when Finley got right into it, "Nuh uh. Protego!" She said, just because she'd gotten an easier start on her first round did not mean she was going to go down today. "Petrificus Totalus!" She cast at Finley. If anything she hoped her earlier duel would give her best friend the idea that she might not be that good and if he underestimated her? Well she'd prove the boy wrong. She might have been short for her age but what she lacked in height she sure made up in determination today.

Finley grinned at Nia, chuckling at her antics. His best friend was so funny, he had younger sisters, but neither of them were as fun to be around as Nia. Sure, they were like four, but still. "Protego! Expelliarmus!"

Mania's grin widened, Finfin was staying silent but that was okay! She could do the talking. "Protego! Come onnn Finfin you can do better than that!" She taunted him, her father had been a duelist when she was younger. He'd given it up around when she was five or so but she'd seen some of his duels. "Everte Statum!" If this spell hit Nia would forever be upset not having begged Finley to wear fairy wings for the duel, though if he flew off the podium the fun would be over all too quickly.

He knew he wasn't that great, but he wasn't going to let her win because she distracted him by being his beautiful bestie. She was always that anyway. "Protego!" He quickly thought of a spell he could use on her. "Tarantallegra!"

With all her internal talk about how she was not about to give up and all that Nia missed the spell coming at her while laughing and suddenly she was doing a pirouette. Well then. She'd been part of the pep club for a few years now soon but she'd never been that great of a dancer so this was showing off skills she did not have. "Aha look at this, Rictusempra!" She was hilarious as it was but perhaps she could make Finfin laugh with that one?

Finley was so intrigued by watching Nia dance that he almost missed the spell she sent at him, but luckily he was able to catch in time and quickly blocked it before he found himself laughing at her dancing, uncontrollably. "Nice try, Nia!" He said, before quickly throwing a stupefy her way.

Now Nia would be the first to admit that dancing like this was inconvenient at best, but she refused to give up. If anyhing maybe it'd distract Finley? "Protego!" Her feet were doing their own thing and that was okay, she just needed the control of her upper body for now. "Enjoy the show because I am not going to dance like this ever again I fear. Expelliarmus!" Nia knew there was a spell to end the effect but she was focused on trying to not lose so raking her brain for that spell was taking the backseat right now.

He shielded himself from Nia's spell and then took pity on his best friend, aiming his wand at her and quickly casting finite on her to end the dancing.

Felix was watching Finley and Mania's duel, obviously to support his cousin. He wolf whistled through his teeth at the pair of them, knowing from experience it was always most fun to be up against your best friend. His arms were crossed over his chest, a grin on his face as Finley made Mania start dancing.

Merlin, Nia didn't know her feet could do all of this... Seriously, as Finley shielded Nia heard a whistle and her head snapped towards Felix. Great, he was now there. In her moment of faltering attention she didn't realize a spell had been cast until she stopped dancing? What. Turning to Finley she bat her eyes a few times. Did he just help her out? "Finley I love you, you are too adorable." She said making a heart with her hands. "Scourgify, I'll make you squeaky clean!"

Finley made a heart with his hands at Felix and then at Nia, just to show his appreciation of course. He was a little surprised to see Nia hit him with the cleaning charm, but he wasn't going to complain, that was very nice of her honestly. He'd been feeling a little sweaty honestly. "Ah thank you!" He said, before getting back into battle mode and casting Expelliarmus.

One of the obvious problems in duelling with a friend was of course the fact hat he wanted to be careful what spells he aimed her way. he shielded before trying Everte Statum.

He completely got thrown off and went to shield, only her spell got through. He felt his legs turn to jelly beneath him and he wobbled, though he still managed to keep a hold of his wand.

Mania blinked and then Finfin's legs were jelly, she winced but on an instinct went for another spell while he was distracted "Expelliarmus!" It was one of those hings she'd seen her dad do before. Hit someone with a spell and while that had their attention try to take them out.

Finley was finding it difficult to keep himself upright with all of the wobbling in his legs. It was very distracting, but he heard Mania's spell and quickly managed to shield before it got any worse. He'd just used the ending spell hadn't he? What was it again? "Finite!" he managed eventually

Nia was glad Finley got the spell to end the effect because she still couldn't remember it for the life of her. Seeing as she didn't need to shield herself she just continued on offense. "Petrificus Totalus!" She was also trying to engrave the Finite spell to her brain now in case she needed it.
