Felix - Felix is a masculine given name that stems from latin felix and means "happy" or "lucky".
Wolf - Named for the powerful animal, wolf is a fierce name choice for your little one. these animals value loyalty and family.

When Felix was fourteen, he dropped King from his surname. He is now legally Felix Layton rather than Felix Layton-King.

Thoughts on his name
Felix loves his name because he likes to think his parents named him that so he'd be lucky. He also thinks out of his siblings Asphodel and Amortentia, he got the best name of the trio because it's not as obvious as the girl that he's named after a potion. Felix decided to drop his fathers surname when he was fourteen because he never felt close to the man. After his mum died, West was often absent in the children's lives and he's been brought up by his mums family for the most part.

After Olive's death, Felix and Ten moved in with their father and older half sister who were also based in New Zealand. Olive's old house was given to Leda, and Ten and Felix grew up with their father at his home until they were old enough to go to Hogwarts.

Gryffindor - Felix was delighted when he was sorted into Gryffindor, as it was the same house as his mum and sister. He also thought he would have enjoyed his dads house, Hufflepuff.

Felix had trailed behind the rest of the students as they'd approached the Great Hall, fixing his robes and tie to ensure that when he inevitably became a spectacle, he would look the part. He'd not spoken a single word to anyone since Ten had left him on the train to go and infiltrate the carriage bathrooms with whatever she and Ned had bought over the summer, although he doubted he was expected to say anything at all until he attended his first lessons. There had to be some sort of record, he presumed, for how long a student could go without speaking to another.

No one had even looked back as he stood behind the crowd, half debating whether or not he could get away with disappearing from the sorting ceremony altogether if it meant he could have an early night. The only thing keeping him here was that he knew his family would want to know where he was placed, and soon he'd have to write a letter home to tell his father and Asphodel the outcome of his placement.

"Layton-King, Felix." He was half convinced he'd imagined it, but when no one else moved he knew it was time. As Felix took a seat on the stool overlooking the other students, a wave of something he'd never experienced washed through him. It wasn't as though he was nervous, or self-conscious, but feeling that many pairs of eyes looking at him, seeing him, that was entirely new. He didn't need to search the room for Ten, who was now waving viciously from her seat at the Gryffindor table, but instead, he calmly took in the moment that for once in his life, people were paying attention to him.

"That they are, people are paying attention..to you..But not to worry this will be over soon. I see a lot of potential, that you would make yourself fit into whatever house you needed, but not necessarily that they would be best suited...hmm...okay...I see...right...Gryffindor,"

Favourite Class
Felix isn't particularly academic and only takes classes because he has to. That being said, he'd probably suggest either History of Magic, Potions or Defence Against the Dark Arts are his favourite, but unfortunately he no longer takes two of those three.

Least Favourite Class
Astronomy, but only because it interrupts his sleep.

Achievements
Plays as a Seeker on the Quidditch team, and helps his sister lead the Brew Crew Potions Club.

Plans for the future
Felix wants to help children and students that are struggling. He's been through tough times after his mum died, and had to grow up without traditional family members and support, and was often the victim of bullying. He's also seen a number of others struggle over the years with their home situation, and while he is glad the school has a guidance council, he feels like there needs to be a department in the ministry that is solely focused on the wellbeing of children, and making sure their home lives are supporting them.

It was certainly just something that Felix didn't think would be for him.

Appearance​

Basic Appearance
Felix is a little taller than average for his age, with blonde wavy hair and blue eyes. Of his immediate and extended family, he stands out the most for his differences although he quite likes that. When he was younger he was dressed quite traditionally, with straight trousers and knitted sweaters, as is the case for most Layton children. As he's gotten older however he's moved into more casual and even sports attire, feeling more confident in his own style.

Resemblance to Parents
Felix's dad has curly hair, which is where he got his own ringlet curls from when he was younger. As he grows older however his curls are beginning to soften, and as of being fifteen his hair is slightly wavy as opposed to curly as it was when he was younger. Unlike both his parents and both his older sisters and aunt, Felix is blonde whereas everyone else in his family is a redhead. The redhead gene seemed to have skipped him and it's likely he got his blonde hair from his grandmother, Ariana Layton. Both his parents had blue eyes, although his overall build is more that of his fathers.

Hairstyle and Type
Felix more or less lets his hair do whatever it wants, and doesn't wear it in a particular way. That being said, as of his fourth year Felix has let his hair grow out longer, and now takes tips from his sisters friend, and Quidditch Captain Teddy Pirrip, about how to make himself look good.

Personality Details​

Describe your character in five words
Considerate - Felix is very considerate of the people around him and whether they're okay. He knows what it's like to feel as though you have no help around you so he strives to make sure no one else feels that way.
Charismatic - Felix is often on the fence about whether or not he's introverted or extroverted, as it can often change on a day to day basis. He is very good however and putting on an outgoing and energetic front, that is charismatic and potentially charms others. Although a quiet child, he's always been good at making friends when he's wanted to, and he hopes to improve his communication and debate skills as he thinks these will be useful to have as he gets older and works for the ministry.
Loyal - Felix is very loyal to his friends and family. Amortentia and Eluned bullied him for many years during his childhood, but he still didn't turn his back on them if they needed him and would often help out with their project if his assistance was needed. He had a close knit group of friends that he trusts and depends on, and even if he falls out with people he doesn't feel like he's lost them forever.
Laid back - It's not often that Felix ever gets into a fight. There has only been one occasion he did and that was with his sister on the lawn, before he met Amory. Felix often just lets things go and tries not to take anything too seriously. He will also tease others quite often, but only because he believes he can also take the light teasing from others too.
Observant - This trait in particular he feels would have made him a good Hufflepuff. He's quite observant about others around him even if he doesn't always point it out or make a deal of it. There is a small part of him that is nervous to see whether he's upset someone himself, but also if someone is hiding their true feelings when they think they're not being watched.

Personality
When Felix was very small, he was often overlooked by his family, only ever being used for their entertainment when it suited them. As he grew older, he became part of the background, expecting everyone to ignore him in the same way, and once he was at Hogwarts he felt as though he was just lost in the crowd. As he is developing however, Felix is finding himself and his confidence to help others feel at ease in themselves, so that they don't have to feel as helpless as he did. Felix is a loud and charismatic personality on the front, but deep down he is also incredibly sensitive and eager to support others that are experiencing difficulties.

Interests or Hobbies
Quidditch was one of Felix's first main hobbies, (asides from staring in Wendall's horror movies as a child). Quidditch gives him the adrenaline thrill, which later he tried to replicate at home with various muggle activities. Currently his favourite is biking, and he and his group of friends at home will often bike down forest tracks and practise their jumps. He finds that activities that make him feel alive are those that have a sense of danger, but often won't tell anyone else that isn't with him about what he's doing in case they unnecessarily worry about him.

Strengths
Resilient - Felix considers himself to be able to bounce back from situations with ease.
Selfless - He will often put others before himself, usually at his own expense. He feels as though if he has a chance to help someone he will, regardless of what it costs him.

Flaws
Emotionally detached - Although he tries to connect and help others, he struggles to explain his own thoughts and feelings to anyone else and instead uses humour to deflect deeper conversations.
Nervous - While he isn't nervous often, when he is, Felix will often try to shove his feelings away rather than deal with the problem.
Poor student - Felix isn't particularly good when it comes to getting grades, and has a hard time focusing on anything to do with books or school work. He tries to make up with this with his practical efforts.

• realises that he trusts susie lagowski more than most, probably because she voted him as the person she'd least like to kiss so he knows her friendship is genuine. also runs into eurydice again and she is definitely someone felix doesn't like.
