Open Y47 End of Year Feast

Sybil couldn't believe that her first year at Hogwarts was over. It all happened so fast and she still didn't really feel like she knew what she was doing here. She at least knew here grades were pretty good and her father would be happy about that, and her work on the paper. Next year she'd be able to duel and she was more than excited for that. As she sat down with the hall decked in green she couldn't wait for next year but she also didn't want time to go too fast. She listened as the head master spoke and clapped for all the top points earners and she hoped one day she might be among them until then she focused on the food and served herself as she listened to everyone chat around her.

Kyousuke honestly hadn't thought about feeling bad for Morrie, and he wondered if he should have. If this was a Shakespeare play, he would be sure she had a reason for being like she is. Or maybe she was more of an Iago and it was debateable. "I just try not to get involved," Kyousuke said simply, though his gaze lingered on June for a moment, his eyes narrowing slightly. He looked back to Hazel quick enough. He didn't say much about her not having the ambition to get points for their house - there wasn't much for him to say on the matter. Some people just didn't have the drive, was Kyousuke's point of view. Though being a Slytherin, he was curious where Hazel's ambitions lay. But he was glad when she recognised his talent at academics. Kyousuke sat up a little straighter. "You could say that," he said with evident pride. "Straight Os this year. In fact, I've only gotten less than O once - and it'll be only once." Kyousuke spoke with some degree of finality. "But - for you - if you don't care about house points, what do you want? Or...is that a bit too...?" Kyousuke hesitated, unsure of himself or what words he wanted - he just knew he was curious. He wanted to know Hazel better.

"Yeah same, mostly family stuff. I think I'll spend most of my time at my dad's place" Fiona says with a small smile and nod. Fiona didn't usually go into much detail about her family life. Only that her parents were divorced and nothing more than that. "Yeah, I reckon I'll try and practice for trying out for the team too. It seems hard getting into the Gryffindor team" Fiona says with a small frown. She always wanted to be on the school team, but it always seemed that she couldn't get in. But she was going to keep trying, she was going to give up on that. "What position are you hoping to get?" Fiona asked her friend. Fiona then thought a bit about the question. "Hmm, not at the moment I don't think. How about you? Anything else?"

@Aroha Blenheim

"Right? SO COOL!" Honestly Tori couldn't wait to throw the sporting pages at her roommates whenever her brother's name was mentioned in them. You know, once she'd found out which team he was trying for. She didn't know if he was going to leave New Zealand to do it, but she wasn't sure which teams were even calling for open tryouts either, and were there any scouting? She had no idea. "I wish I would be able to watch him play, I've always liked to see his games when I could, not that I could ever watch them until this year, but now I'm back to where I was before! And heck! with how long we're here, he could potentially retire before I get out to school. That would suck."

@Esme Styx-Cade

With an smirk on her face she turned her back against the girls taking an bite of the apple. When Morrie replied obviously in the most childish way. And June watched her, rolling her eyes and shaking her head with an grin as the girl reacted childish like ever. And saw Vanity laughing. Somewhere deep down she wanted the girl to eat slugs very badly. But June was smarter than that, she knew she could defeat them both if it needed to be. But she wouldn't waste her energy on them. It was very clear that they were obsessed with her and jealous. And she would enjoy looking down at them every time. But June would never let her insult her without consequences. 'So she had to use someone and knew exactly the perfect person to help her with that. She wouldn't make her own hands dirty. '' I'm looking forward to it..'' She responded to Vanity, knowing very well that she would never send an serious letter, and perhaps wanted to try something. They were very predictible. '' Keep trying. Perhaps one day you will not be an failure.'' June said challenging to both of the girls. Hoping they would do another stupid thing where they would get in trouble with. They could try all they want, but she would always win. And walked away to her seat after blowing an kiss with an smirk on her face. Taking another bite of her apple.

Magne gave a little nod, he wasn't sure he would want to introduce Cyrus to sailing if they didn't know how seasick he would get. "We could go out for like a day, or a couple of hours and if its not for you, we'll know pretty quick," he said, since it if wasn't for him, he wasn't going to force the boy to spend more time than the minimum. "You can ask your parents and then let me know?" he suggested.
@Cyrus Thorne

Aroha gave a nod - she was a little bit curious why it was just Fiona's dad, but she didn't want to probe and risk getting too personal. Aroha then rolled her eyes and leaned forward at the subject of quidditch. "I know, right? Honest to god it's like it's impossible or something. I'm sure I'm - we're - not that bad. Any other house and we'd have made it for sure." Aroha felt a little bit guarded about the idea that Fiona was also trying for the team - but she also wasn't the type of person to show disfavour to someone just because they were competing for the same thing. Not when they were a decent person like Fiona. "Honestly, I want to make beater or seeker. But I'm probably better at hitting things than catching things. What position are you going for do you think?"
@Fiona Burke

Fiona nodded. "I reckon it's cos there's so many Gryffindors interested in trying out, it's a lot harder to be selected. But still, it's hard. I wonder if there's some sorta trick people know that we don't" Fiona says with a nod. Fiona loved Quidditch and so far she was gutted she hadn't been able to make it on the team yet, not even as an alternate. "Either of those positions is cool! I'm sure you'd be good in either or both positions. I wanna be a chaser. Having the feeling of just throwing the quaffles into the hoops seems fun and I enjoy doing that a lot"

@Aroha Blenheim

Hazel took a bite of her food as she listened to Kyousuke. He was clearly proud of his grades, and she was glad she had mentioned it. It was kind of cute to see him so happy. Still, she hadn't known his grades were that good. All Os? She couldn't even imagine. Hazel scraped by with an A most of the time. She tilted her head as he asked her a question, wondering what he meant to say. She laughed when she realized he wondered what she cared about if not her grades, shrugging slightly. "Oh, I just put all of my energy into fashion, into my art." She told him. "I want to be recognized for that, you know? Be a designer one day."

Cyrus nodded as Magne said they could go sailing for a day or a few hours. That did sound less intimidating than sailing all the way around the north Island. "That sounds good." He admitted. "I'll ask them." They couldn't say no if it was just a couple of hours, right?

@Magne Kleos

Kyousuke looked at Hazel with interest, and he nodded. "That's cool," he said, hoping he sounded sincere, but he sometimes struggled with tone. "I'm sure you will be recognised one day. You have a good eye for fashion." There was more to it than that, and it wasn't like Kyousuke was an expert, but he had taste at least. "I think art is important, but...sometimes I think my acting suffers because I focus so much on studying," Kyousuke admitted, feeling a little bit ashamed. If only he had more hours in the day, he thought to himself, while simultaneously feeling like it was a shortcoming in himself that he couldn't balance the two.

Adorah enjoyed the large feast celebrations at the beginning and end of the year. It was a wonderful time for all the students and staff to get together and celebrate each other. She clapped gentley for Slytherin, still feeling partial to her house, and gave an extra round of applause when the Ravenclaw top points earner was announced. The former Ravenclaw grabbed some vegetables as the students began eating, enjoying the positive atmosphere as the year ended.

"Yeah, Gryffindors seem to all love quidditch for some reason," Aroha said, sounding a little bitter and she didn't really like how she sounded so she added on: "Who can blame them though, quidditch is awesome." Aroha felt moved by Fiona saying she'd make a good player, and smiled warmly. "I'm sure you make a great chaser," she returned. "Here's to making to the next captain recognising talent when they see it." Aroha raised her goblet up, gestured with it towards Fiona and drank. She really did hope for the best next year - for both of them.
@Fiona Burke

Hazel wasn't sure if Kyousuke really thought it was cool or if he secretly thought she should be studying and that perhaps this was a waste of time. But as he said more, she smiled, feeling more at ease. "Thank you." She said proudly. She knew she had a good eye for fashion, but it was still nice to hear it from someone else. She cut some of her potatoes as she listened. "Well, you can't be perfect at everything." She told him. "Do you enjoy acting? Because that seems to me like the most important part."
@Kyousuke Kurosawa

Kyousuke felt pleased his compliment worked out, worried for a moment it wouldn't land, or work, or whatever compliments were supposed to do. He didn't know how he felt about not being perfect at everything and for a moment was a little affronted. Kyousuke knew Hazel meant well, however, and tried to push that brief feeling down. "I do enjoy it. Ever since I was a kid, it's been my passion. There's less opportunities at Hogwarts for acting. Back at muggle primary school we had yearly theatre productions and..." Kyousuke stopped, starting to feel a little uncomfortable being so open. It wasn't that he didn't trust Hazel - he strangely did - but he never talked about this sort of thing. Not even with his father - or maybe especially not with his father. He deflected. "Are you the same - as in, fashion's always been your passion?"

“Do they play Quidditch during any of the holidays?” Esme asked, her voice laced with hope. She had no idea how the quidditch season worked outside of Hogwarts but surely there would be a chance to watch her brother play at some point during one of the school holidays. “If they do we could go and watch him during the holidays!”

Marnie had spent the last few weeks so focused on everything that came next, one step at a time, that she'd almost completely forgotten everything they were leaving behind until she was jumpscared with the reality as it was happening. Last night in the dorms with Pen, last morning running around the common room looking for her socks, last meal in the Great Hall eating gluey mashed potatoes.

It only took one look at the misty look in Penny's eyes before Marnie could feel her own starting to well up, sniffing valiantly at the sensation as she gripped Penny's hand. "We'll just have to ask our brothers or something, it's not like-" Marnie sniffed again, "-It's not like it's gonna disappear just cause we can't see it or anything right, and we'll still hang out all the time so nothing's changing so we don't need to-" Marnie gave up, letting out an overwhelmed wail and throwing herself into Penny's arms, the two clutching at each other as the remnants of their last meal at school together finished up around them.
