@Yuelia Rossingol vs @Emmanuel Okoye

Round one thankfully hadn't been too rowdy this year, with the exception of some of the upper year students, and Angel was grateful he wasn't spending 20 minutes cleaning up slugs today. Once the two competitors seemed ready, Angel directed them up to their places at opposite ends of the platforms before addressing them and the crowd. "Welcome to your final round of duelling, you should know what you're doing by now so let's keep it clean. The victor will be crowned the winner of their year level so you know the stakes. When you're ready, please bow to your opponent and begin!" He said with a flourish, letting the students get started.
The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Yuelia was honestly pretty disappointed her first match had been so quick. She was glad she had won, but she really had fun with duelling and wanted to make the most of it. She was a little surprised to see Emmanuel, not Mischa, but either way she wasn't about to let anyone get in the way of her reclaiming her crown. She just...wanted to toy with her opponent first, like a spider to a fly. "Oh, you came back for more, I see," she drawled, very much in her duelling personality, bowing to him. "How should we begin...I know, I think you should dance for me. Tarantallegra!"

Emmanuel bowed to Yuelia, glad to be able to face off with her again, though expecting that he would do no better than he had the first time around. The ravenclaw listened to what she said with a slightly bemused expression and just blocked her spell as it raced towards him. "Furnunculus,"

Getting into character probably wasn't helping the speed or flow of the duel but she enjoyed it far too much to stop. She blocked the return spell with a shield charm and a raise of her eyebrow. "How rude," she said, stiffly, before returning with a jelly brain jinx. "Think about what you've done, if you can."

Emrys had dragged himself out of his books to come down and see his friend duel, smiling softly. She was fun when she was doing this, acting like an evil priestess or something. He held his friends and hers, making sure they could all see what Yuelia was doing. He smiled softly, but didn't call out, not wanting to break her concentration.

Emmanuel frowned a little at her reaction to his spell, it hadn't hit, but he wasn't sure why she was speaking. Why would he need to think about it. He dodged her spell, pre-occupied by trying to figure out what she meant, and then sent back, "Everte Statum,"

Emmanuel just didn't seem to get her, but Yuelia was not going to be deterred. In fact, she felt she could use this to her advantage, swiftly blocking his spell with a shield charm. She fired back a jelly fingers jinx, continuing the jelly theming. "Drop your wand, it's obviously no use to you," she taunted, grinning. It was perhaps the most animated she ever looked.

Emmanuel blocked her spell with a flourish of his wand, deciding that he would just ignore what she was saying and just focus on casting, the Jelly Brain Jinx

Yuelia wondered if she was managing to annoy him, as he seemed completely uninterested in rising to her bait. She supposed acting wasn't in Emmanuel's future. She blocked the jinx with a swift Protego, her time practicing with the dummies making her far more assured with spellcasting this year. "Well, you're no fun. Incendio!" She aimed for the hem of his robes, something that if it hit, would be able to be extinguished swiftly.

Emmanuel found Yuelia to quite an opponent. He didn't manage to block her spell and his robe sleeve caught fire. He was quick to pat it out, since he didn't have a spell to create water yet. It took him a bit of time to be able to do that.

Yuelia smirked. She was a little worried about Emmanuel getting hurt, but she also knew that Professor Castillo would stop the duel before there was any severe injury. Besides, she was in full flight. Deciding to press her advantage, she followed up with a quick "Expelliarmus!"

Emmanuel was very distracted by the fire on his sleeve, and only noticed a moment too late as his wand was taken from his hand.

Angel was always wary when fire started getting thrown around, though thankfully the third years weren't trying to explode each other like the older kids. Yet. It wasn't a surprise though to see Yuelia able to cinch a win though after setting Emmanual on fire and Angel stepped up with a proud grin as Emmanuel was disarmed. "And with that, our winner and third year champion is Yuelia Rossingol. Well done, everyone," he announced to the chamber.

Yuelia was ecstatic, but with a mere blink of her eyes she was back to her regular dull expression, offering a hand to Emmanuel to shake. "I hope you are not hurt. I...don't know what comes over me when I duel, my apologies."

Emrys smiled softly when Yuelia won the duel. "Good match," He called out to both of them.

Emmanuel didn't mind that he'd lost the duel but was very pleased when the professor put out the fire. He looked at Yuelia as she extended her hand to him. he took it. "It's the nature of duelling," Emmanuel said. "You are a very worthy winner,"
