Open Y35 End of Year Feast!

Elio had done everything he could this year to prove to his parents that letting him transfer back to HNZ two years ago had been the right choice, but he’d never expected to get the most house points out of everyone in his house. Not only that but between them they’d done enough too to win the house cup, which Professor Kingsley proudly took at the front of the room. “YEAH!” He called out, giving a small fist bump into the air before clapping along with his housemates. It was too bad the other houses won, although Elio was going to take a lot of delight in teasing his friends in the other houses for the next few weeks especially. “We did it,” he nudged Rowan who was sat beside him, giving her a wink. They’d both worked hard, as had a number of people in Gryffindor, and he was hyped that he’d be able to go home and announce his victory.

If it had been possible, Ilija would have stayed up in his room for the duration of the feast, but it seemed as though that wasn’t an option. This was all mandatory for some reason. He sat opposite Mhairi, quietly and not really paying much attention to those around him except for Alice, who he was stealing glances at. He daren’t look further down the table to see if Padme was there. The pair hadn’t spoken since they’d broken up and he knew it would just be awkward and horrible now. It had been sad, to lose one of his only and closest friends, but with Katy’s words in his head maybe there was still a chance that he could make some new ones. He clapped in time with the others as the points were revealed, a little surprised when their own seeker managed to do it for them.

It was easier to hide the fact that Agnes and Elsie were a couple when the pair didn’t share a year nor a house. If they were in the same boat as Rowan and Elio, she was quite sure they would have been discovered very early on. Agnes had hoped that she would have had a chance to talk to her uncle before the holidays, but as it happened she’d not yet had a chance to catch the Charms professor at a convenient moment. At least she still had the time on the train, she figured. The fourth year applauded the houses as they were revealed, unsurprised that Slytherin hadn’t won. They never won. She sent a smile to her girlfriends brother, and hospital wing colleague however, glad that Zennon had at least proved himself to be a huge player in the points they had achieved. Once it was over, Agnes slipped away from her house, and into the seat beside Elsie, on the off chance that no one would spot her and she’d be free to have her last meal with Elsie before the break.

Isla didn’t really care about her own house. She did however care about her best friends house, and hearing that Onyx’s had done the best this year caused the fourth year to whistle when it was announced. Isla ignored any looks she received from her own house members, apparently some were strong in the belief of betrayal, but she was just glad that with any luck, it would make Onyx a little more confident. She moved across towards the Gryffindor table, giving her brother a slap on the back too in passing, proud of him for doing so well. Mum and dad would no doubt be proud but then again, when weren’t they? Isla took a seat beside Onyx, squishing herself into place, congratulating him on the work over the year before helping herself to some of the boys food.

It had been a bit of a weird few months for Tres, who had only recently realised that her entire childhood had basically been one big fat lie. Momma didn’t care about her. Her siblings didn’t tease her just because it was fun. She was treated differently, they all were, and Tres didn’t even have her own name to call her own. The third year sat beside Daintree very somber indeed as she picked at the food on her plate, ignoring the words of the Headmistress as she had much too much going on in her own mind. She was looking forward to the break and spending time with her boyfriend, but dreading going home to see her “family”. At least she had Uno. Sort of. Even if it wasn’t in the way she thought. Tres didn’t even bother clapping at the announcement. It wasn’t like they’d won anyways.

Alec had purposely chosen not to talk to the majority of her peers since the niffler incident which had been incredibly humiliating. Lysander would have rather have worried himself over some random little creature instead of his friend, which Alec had come away knowing perfectly well she couldn’t consider herself to be anymore. It was isolating and strange, and despite doing what she could to keep herself distracted, she was just too bored to be moping around the castle by herself. She clapped for Gryffindor as she found out they were the winners, but it wasn’t like Alec had done much to help towards that, and she was sure some of her housemates probably cheated anyway. Keeping her head held high, the second year didn’t glance in her ex best friends direction or really anyone’s at all. Next year instead she vowed would be different. Yes, next year, Lysander would be begging to be her friend again.

Juno still hated her stupid horrible house. It was pathetic and always came last. Except in Quidditch. Juno wanted to play quidditch more than anything but she refused to play for the stupid green snakes who were constantly at each other’s throats. It was no surprise at all that they hadn’t won, their house probably lost them more points than they gained. They hadn’t just come second or third, they’d come last. Like always. Juno had half a mind to storm up towards the Headmistress there and then to demand why she couldn’t be switched. Two years she’d been here now and she still hated it, and it was impossible to concentrate when everyone around her weren’t even trying. The blonde didn’t clap at all, instead she stared across the hall at Apollo, her best friend who was part of the winning group who seemed to know how the game was played. Why could her house be like his? Then maybe she wouldn’t have hated it quite so much.

Wendall was at the Hufflepuff table, listening intently to the professor as she told them the scores, legs shaking in anticipation because once she was finished they’d be able to eat, and that was the real reason Wendall had been thrilled about today. He cheered when Gryffindor won. If his own house couldn’t win then at least it had gone to another one that had been deserving of the title. He felt a bit bad for Leda, but then it was also her last year and she probably didn’t even care anymore. Wendall narrowed his eyes when Elio was announced as the point earner first the house, glancing towards Mary Lou as though you point out they boy they’d met. Perhaps if people knew how terrible his drawings were people would think differently. Nevertheless he clapped hard, waving at Lysander, before turning to tuck into his lunch.

Maddox was glad to be sat with Leia for the feast, although sometimes he wondered whether she would have preferred to be with some of her other more popular friends instead of him. For the most part Maddox had kept to himself this year, but the sooner he could return to school for his second, the better. He detested travelling back to his real home, if he could still call it that, because it meant that he was reminded of who he really was instead of this image he’d created for himself while at school. He clapped with the rest of his housemates when the house was called but it hadn’t been with much enthusiasm given their position against the others. When the time came, Majora poured himself a drink, too nervous about returning home to actually eat any food at all.

Things had never been the same since Henry left, and Lily was still furious when she’d found out that he’d been bullied by one of the Slytherin boys to the point where he felt like he had to leave her. Lily hadn’t really ever been close to her twin but he was closest family she had, and the Ravenclaw sat glaring across the hall at Luxen, just waiting for the perfect opportunity to get a chance to speak to him. She wasn’t like her brother, she would have been so easily swayed to forgive him. She clapped with the other students but her eyes never left the boy, willing him in her head to turn and just glance at her. At this point, Lily just wanted him to know that she was onto him to make his next year one of his hardest.

Be bold. Be bold. Onyx repeated Islas advice softly, applying his dark eyeliner, a bit of mascara, and a dark red lipstick. He looked gorgeous... Or at least, he hoped he did. He sighed, trying to be happier than he felt. He hated that he just wanted to curl into Chrys's side again. Did this kind of pain ever go away?

He sat at the table, picking at his plate and not really paying attention to anything. He startled a little when Izzy squeezed in beside him, but sighed softly, leaning his head on her shoulder a moment before sliding his plate in front of her. "I didn't do anything," he mumbled, resting his chin on his arms.

Isla was watching Onyx closely, who looked more fierce than she'd ever seen him before. Maybe it was a mask that he wore to cover up how he was really feeling, but she hoped perhaps even just a small part of him was feeling a bit more confident now that he was dressed up. Isla was happily munching on his food before he even pushed the plate towards her. "You helped," she said simply, offering him a bit of crispy bacon in the hopes that he'd cheer up. "Are you still upset over Chrys?" she asked quietly, wondering what she could do to take his mind off his ex.

Onyx almost lied but shrugged instead. "Not as bad." He spoke softly. "It's... Better." He sighed, turning to look at her. "What are you doing for break?" He gave her a half smile, trying to act happier than he felt.

Isla smiled at Onyx, eating the bacon herself when he didn't seem to realise she'd offered it him. "Well, I'm going to be absolutely swamped this break," she began, licking the oil off her fingers, "Between missing you and avoiding my brother, I don't know how I'll fit anything else in," she grinned. Elly was actually due to be spending a week or so with the Baros' so at least she'd have a little bit of time when she could snoop around his room without feeling like she was going to get caught. "You?" she asked, pouring herself a drink.

Matt couldn't believe the year was over already, it had really flown by. He was honestly relieved he was done grading exams. The OWLs and NEWTs were tough on students, but they were a lot of work for him as well. But now they could all enjoy the final feast of the year together, which he was pleased about. He listened to Professor Alicastell's speech, clapping politely. He wouldn't deny being a bit disappointed for Ravenclaw. He would have liked his old house to win. But Gryffindor had won fair and square, and Matt couldn't help a small smile at their obvious excitement. Once the headmistress was done, Matt turned to Cyndi as he started scooping some food onto his plate. "Congratulations, your lions did well." He told her with a smile. "And I imagine they'll be celebrating all night, so... good luck as well." He added, aware that they were often the most rambunctious house.

@Professor Cyndi Kingsley

Onyx shrugged. "Sounds like your break is more fine than mine. Im just missing you while my sister avoids me." He grinned, leaning against her a bit. "Sapphy was talking about going to lunch with Arc and Key, so that should be fun. Don't really know when though." He took a piece of bacon from his- er, her plate. "Maybe we can go shopping some time," he mused.

It was awesome to see all of the red and gold banners in the Great Hall, and Lysander eagerly cheered along with his housemates, following Emma's example. "Go go Gryffindor!" He whooped. If they kept winning, he thought Professor Kingsley would put even more cool stuff in their common room. As long as she didn't keep banning him from using them. He clapped extra enthusiastically when Elio's name was called out. Over a thousand points was a lot! Lysander had only earned seven hundred or something when he'd won, and even his heroic deeds helping the niffler hadn't brought him anywhere close that year. He caught sight of Wendall at the Hufflepuff table and waved back. Though he was a part sad to leave Hogwarts, he was looking forward to hanging out with his friends over the holidays, without having to worry about classes and dumb rules.
