[Thoughts]
Maj doesn't mind his name, and hasn't found it to be too much of a bother. He doesn't dislike being called by his full name nor his nicknames, although he does detest anyone who calls him Jora. He hopes that one day if he does find a family worth belonging to, that he will be able to take their surname instead, because Valentine doesn't mean anything to him anymore, and he doesn't feel the need to keep associating with the two people that brought him into the world.
[Birth]
[Date of Birth]
March 15th 2039
[Birthplace]
Ashburton, New Zealand
[Details]
Maj was born in the early hours of the morning on 15th March 2039. His parents had been arguing that evening, and so his father was out of the house when his mother went into labour. She ended up giving birth at home at 4:24am, but his father didn't return home until the following day. His parents had only found out they were expecting a few months previously, so they weren't completely ready to look after a newborn. His parents were also quite young, and no financial able to take care of a dependent. Maj remained in their care for just eight months, before he was removed and taken to a child's foster home, with little protest or resistance from either parent.
[Blood Status]
Unknown. There is no record of his parents having magical abilities when he was taken into care, and he only realised he had these abilities when strange things began to happen at the foster home. He could usually do his best to rationally explain these things but when he hit his eleventh birthday he realised why this was.
[Family]
[Birth Mother]
Maryam Peters 16 years older than Majora. Maryam was born in Australia and moved to New Zealand with her family when she was nine years old. It's unknown which schools she attended, but it is believed that she met Majora's father while at High School, and the pair had been an item for just over a year by the time she found out she was pregnant. By the time Maryam gave birth to Majora, she was in a difficult spot in her relationship, which ultimately had its own trials, breaking off and on many time over the next few months. Not much is known about Maryam besides the fact that on one occasion she wrote to the foster home that Majora was taken into, requesting that a letter was passed over to him on his first birthday. He didn't really understand the letter until he reread it at an older age, but she was apologising for not being the mother he needed or deserved. Majora has no intention of returning to his birth mother nor reaching out to her, but he also doesn't hold any resentment or grudges towards her doing what she needed to do at the time.
[Birth Father]
Owen Valentine 16 years older than Majora. It was decided after Majora's birth that he would take on his fathers surname, despite the differences his parents had with one another. Neither of his parents had formed a particularly strong bond with their child however, so Owen was even more distant towards his newborn son than his mother had been. After finding out that Majora had been born, he did try to do what was best for their family, dropping out of school and getting himself his first job in the engineering industry. Unfortunately the stress of an additional dependent caused his father to turn to other various things that results in their family being split, and funds being lost. With Maryam at home trying to play the part of a single parent, and Owen unable to keep down his job, it wasn't long before his parents realised they weren't in a position to be able to financial look after their son. Owen was the first to question the authorities when Majora was removed from their care, but he allowed the decision to be continued when he realised Majora would have a better chance of growing up to be successful if he was away from them. Owen has since split from Maryam and served two sentences in prison for petty crime and theft.

[Thoughts]
When Majora was six years old, he was adopted by Noah and Ffione, a couple that wanted to foster children and give them a good home to live in. They were in their fifties and had never been able to have a child of their own, and had been married since their twenties. After numerous checks and interviews, Majora went on for a three month trial period with the couple to see if he was a suitable match for them. This was quickly extended, and for the next year, Majora became accustomed to their rules and guildelines, and the three of them got on especially well with similar interests. Noah taught Majora how to fish and how to start a fire, and Ffione would never let him go hungry. The couple was a welcomed time away from the foster home that he'd spent his whole life in, and he hoped he'd be able to stay there until he became an adult. In December 2046 however, Ffione became ill, firstly contracting Pneumonia, and a few months later diagnosed with Leukaemia. While this was in the early stages and was treatable, it put a strain on their relatively new family, and Noah had to give up a lot of time to look after his wife. Despite promises that the couple would take on Majora until he became of age, Noah made the decision for Majora to return to his foster home after 14 months in their care, and he returned 2 months later. By this point a few other children had come and gone, and he was in a new bedroom as his old one had now been taken.

[Friends]
Majora doesn't have a huge number of close friends, especially as they come and go frequently from the foster home. He is hoping that as he gets older he will find a solid connection, and a group that he can call his own.
[Relationship with friends]
Majora trusts the friends he's made more than adults. Adults have a tenancy to let him down or keep information from him, whereas his classmates and those around his own age he finds it easier to relate to and assist. He is still hesistant to call someone his friend though, although you can tell whether you're considered his friend by asking about his family. If he tells you elaborate stories of his "older brothers" then it's likely he is putting on a front. If Majora is honest about growing up in a foster home however, you will know that you've crossed a line into a group that Maj trusts. It doesn't take much for a friend to leave this group however. If trust is misplaced, then it's likely that it won't be reformed, and Maj won't be able to forgive past mistakes often. Those he remains friends with are those that have shown loyalty and common interests.
[Best Friends]
Majora doesn't consider himself to have a best friend yet.

Majora writes in capital letters as often as possible, as he believes it leaves less room for mistakes and misunderstanding between him and others, and it looks much cleaner. He wishes everyone wrote like this as it would make reading their writing easier too.
