The Brotherhood Auction

The whole bidding thing just struck her as funny, it was cute to think that a whole bunch of boys dressed up and were being auctioned off to random girls to take to the Yule Ball. Tugging on her ladybug costume she grinned wryly at her friend Kamaria who appeared to be here to bid as well. At first Ariah wasn't going to bid at all because she didn't want to go to the Yule Ball with anyone, and she definitely wanted to make sure she didn't get stuck with Leviathan or anything, it was just too risky since she was scared of him now. But then she started to have second thoughts, this could actually be really fun for her, she also thought she recognized which one Theodore was and wanted to bid on him just because he was really the only one that interested her there, even if she didn't have a crush on him or anything she thought it would be funny. But just as she was about to bid on a letter, Kamaria told her to bid on C for some reason, and of course Ariah could do nothing but trust her friend. Raising her hand she shouted; "I'll bid Five Galleons For letter C." Turning to Kamaria she giggled softly, hopefully it was someone good since she had a lot of money and she was intent now to see whoever it was under that mask.

Hilde could not believe what she was watching. A guy auction. She was curious as to who was under the hoods, but then, was kinda into the idea of buying herself a Yule Ball date. The chances were that she could end up with a little first year, but she could end up with a pretty hawt guy. Might be just the ticket to make Shane a bit jealous if word gets back to him about who she ends up with. Or it would make her into a joke, but that was a chance she was willing to take. Standing and watching the cloaked guys take their places, she tried to assess the figures to attempt to get an older guy.

Trinity had been looking around her wondering which dressed up student about her might possibly be Justin, she wasn't so overly dressed that she herself was unrecognizable so she thought perhaps he would come up to her. But as she stood around admiring the floating jack o'lanterns no one came to her. The headmaster stood up to greet everyone and then turned around abruptly as Professor Rowann stood up to speak.

She wondered if Justin had joined the Brotherhood and if were one of the boys up there at that very moment. It seemed like something he might do, so she made her way forward as did others. Again she looked about her just in case but when she could not spot him anywhere she was even more convinced that he was indeed up amongst the boys dressed up. So that when the bidding started she felt compelled to bid. She wasn't going to go all out like the first bidder though, so simply raised her hand.
"2 galleons on G" she chimed in wondering if this was the biggest mistake of her life and that if Justin were up there he should at least give her some indication as to which one he was.

Brodie looked at all the boys lined up on the stage trying to decide which one he should bid on. I really hope I don't pick a first year... Thats just pedophilesh Brodie thought rolling his eyes. Of course no one could see what he was doing behind his costume. A few girls had looked over him when he entered the crowd, apparently some of the girls knew that he didn't belong. Oh well. Brodie was here to have fun, he had been a huge stick in the mud since before school and he was making up for it now. Brodie watched as two girls placed bets before him, C and D. Brodie decided what the hell and U looked to be about his size, maybe even taller. "Two galleons on U!" Brodie called out getting even more odd looks from the girls because his voice was very obviously not female.

Professor Rowann smiled at those who stepped forward to bid, thinking they were either extremely brave or very stupid.
"Alright now that is more like it ... Boy C has a bid of 5 galleons, do I hear more?" she grinned at the row of boys trying to figure out herself which one 'C' actually was before turning back to the crowd.

"Boy G has a bid of 2 galleons and Boy U has a bid of 2 galleons. Do I hear MORE?!"

Jade hadn't been to the Halloween celebrations for a couple of years, and it was her final year this year, so she might as well go to as many events as she could. She could see that up on the stage at the front of the hall was a group of boys all in dementer and death-eater outfits. It looked like they were up there for a reason, so she walked over across the floor, trying not to trip on anyone's costumes. Professor Rowann was introducing the boys as letters, and then auctioning them off, though she didn't know what for. Just for a laugh, Jade decided to bid too, even if the boy she got was younger then her, it would be alright she guessed. Putting up her hands she exclaimed. "C for 10 galleons, please!"

Sureya entered the room not caring in the slightest how ridiculous she looked with huge lips attached to her face. She wasn't the greatest in the world to come up with Halloween costume ideas unlike others she mused as she looked about the hall at the amazing costumes. With a sigh she took her engorged lips to the refreshment table and began to view what was on offer. She wasn't really hungry or thirsty for that matter. Looking about her she wondered if some of her friends were here, they had all pretty much gotten ready at different times so she wasn't too sure what Ostensia or Sapphire would be up to. She also wondered if Hamza would be dressed up today, he was slowly turning in to a close friend which was great. It helped that he never seemed to be effected by her being part veela. The headmaster stood up to greet everyone and after a while Professor Rowann stood up as well. By then Sureya had begun mingling through the crowd smiling at various people and getting quite frankly a little scared by some of the costumes.

One or two dressed like dementors and death eaters had simply stood before her before being called away to the stage. She had been absolutely terrified but curiousity got the better of her now, so she approached like everyone else. An auction, she considered that it might be something that Jai or even Hamza might get involved in and grinned. She didn't know if her favourite Slytherin was up there or not but even if she were to bid it was unlikely that she would choose him or win at all for that matter. With that in mind she raised her hand feeling all brave for a moment.
"5 galleons on S " she smiled.

Ariah wanted to face-palm at the idiot bidding against her, turning to Kamaria she wondered if she should just give but the look on her friends face told her not to and she sighed. "Scratch that, 20 galleons on C!" After she replied and pretty much doubled the amount she sighed softly, her friend was lucky that she had quite a bit of money with her saved p and used from random Brightstone trips. And whoever this is, he better be good.

Hilde crossed the room over to where her roommate and fellow bug was standing. "Any idea who that is bidding against you?" she asked quietly. "And does something need to be done?" She was a Slytherin after all, and rather bitter at the moment at that. She was not really sure why this other girl decided to bid against Ariah, but now Hilde was determined that Ariah would win. Even if that meant that Hilde would need to give Ariah money and forgo her own attempts at bidding.

Zazuka was elaborately dressed as a witch from history. Japanese history to be exact. A woman by the name of Yuuko Icchara also known as the space-time witch. Zazuka was in a long black dress with a blue and white design running from the bottom of her torso to where the bottom of the dress spit between her knees and beyond. Zazuka had flat ironed her hair so that she could put a thick ribbon in it in a half bun while the rest of it seemed to flow around her. Then there where the beads running all over the place. It seemed like Zazuka should have not been able to move but she had made them run so that she was not only able to move but run if she had to. In a daring note her feet where bare of everything but an anklet which had a sun charm on it.

Zazuka had been enjoying the feast when she saw that there was an authorized boy action going on. Zazuka could pretty much guess who was up on the stage and with the contacts she had put in so that her eyes looked purple and all knowing it would seem like she could predict which boy was up there just by looking still Zazuka wondered close and saw that there where already girls calling out numbers and amounts. She looked at all the Death Eaters and Dementors then raised her hand herself. "I offer 10 gallons on S" She said in her dreamiest voice.

Zazuka sort of hoped that she was voting for Salazar. She had wanted to talk to the boy after the spectacle he had made of himself not too long ago. That and she wasn't sure that Galileo would ask her to the ball she had gone by herself before but still it was nice to say that she had a date. She hoped for the life of her this didn't mean that she was shallow.

Prodan agreed to step up and assist in this, and he started to speak, "So, we have 20 galleons on C, two galleons on G, two galleons on U, ten galleons on S. We still have R up without a bid. On those that give out galleons, going once... Come on ladies, I know some of these boys are quite the catch!" Prodan gave out a wink, and even he couldn't tell who was who under the masks. He had to say though, he felt weird being around these costumes.

Shalamar thought it was all really hilarious what was transpiring on the stage of the Great Hall. A row of boys dressed like dementors and death eaters stood facing everyone. Granted she thought the choice of costumes though scary were a tad wrong somehow but boys really didn't have a clue about dressing up did they? She hadn't had any intention of attending the Yule Ball but the fun of bidding seemed too strong and so she raised her hand.

"5 galleons on R" she called out loud and clear.

Jade heard another girl shout out a bid for C, the stakes were getting higher. She had to decide whether she would keep voting for this boy or switch to a different one. Deciding that she'd bid once more for C, and if the other girl bid on him again, she would let him go, and start bidding on D, she said, "25 on C!" The bidding was starting to heat up, and she could feel the excitement building. All she needed was a date for the ball, but if she was stealing him from someone else who wanted him even more, she wasn't going to feel guilty for it.

Once again the girl raised her bid and Ariah twitched with irritation, she was stubborn and very intent to win this because she had a hunch that it was someone good if Kamaria told her to bid on him. Maybe it was Theodore or one of the cuter upperclassmen that she would just love to end up taking to the Ball. When Ariah saw her roommate and best friend come over she smiled wryly at her, she wondered if Hilde was going to bid or not. "No idea, but I think I may have it handled. Thanks!" She winked at Hilde, the girl was such an awesome friend but she hoped Hilde would stay close in case she needed it for later. Sighing she raised her hand to bid once again. "35 galleons on C!" Ariah shouted once again, raising the galleon price ten galleons, it was nothing to her burt she just hoped that whoever this was that she was bidding on was good, her eyes drifted to the masked boys before she turned and smiled at Hilde.

Larissa had heard the rumor that something big was going on at the Halloween feast and so, had turned up. She was, currently, not in costume, having worn it for only five minutes before deciding that she would rather die than continue wearing the stupid thing. As she had walked into the great hall, dressed head to toe in black, she could hear the noise levels rising. Curiosity got the better of Larissa. It always did. Had she not been so busy with writing a lengthly essay, she would have made it to the feast earlier. As it was, Larissa managed to pick up on the situation fairly well.

So, this was some sort of auction, was it? And.. And it appeared that people were bidding on boys. Larissa wondered if she dared join in the fun.. After all, she had a few spare galleons and nothing better to do. She turned to a girl nearby. "What is all this? What happens if someone 'wins' the auction?" The girl muttered a reply, something about the Yule Ball, before she walked off to join her friends. Larissa was stumped for a decision. Well, she hadn't got a date to the ball and it wasn't like she was planning on kissing the boy.. Larissa suddenly raised her hand. "5 Galleons on G." She called out in reply to the auctioneer. It was risky, yes, but surely that was the thrill of it all?

Prodan smirked a bit and he continued on with the auction, pulling off his cowboy hat and pointing to the lucky ladies...and one male, "All right, we have ten galleons on S, 35 galleons on C, two galleons on U, five galleons on G, five galleons on R. You better hurry up ladies, because this is going twice!" Prodan called out, "Do I hear more before I announce sold?" Prodan was having a blast, and it showed in his eyes. He glanced at the Death Eaters and Dementors and he said, "Boy, C, you are a lucky one, eh?"

Jade smirked, this was proving to be harder than she though! If only she knew the people behind the masks! She retracted her bidding hand, for she realised this girl was far too keen on getting this boy to be hers. Alright, how much is the bidding on D? Oh so he's not up yet... She settled on waiting for the next lot to come through. Taking a step aside the girls who were standing up and bidding, she drew up a seat, to watch for amusement.

Alyssa stood unsurely as she stared at the line of boys standing up in front of all these girls and maybe a few guys to be auctioned off like cattle or something. Even though Alyssa had a boyfriend already she suddenly had the urge to bid and see if she could get or rather save one of the boys from a painful ending. Telling Hadan just a moment and they could head back to the dorm with candy and snacks in store so they could just laze around she walked over to the group of Girls. "15 Galleons on G please!" Alyssa called out politely while raising her hand, she was rather tall so she figured it wouldn't be hard to notice. Alyssa didn't really need a date bit it would give her a reason to go and get dressed up if she did, then again if someone wanted to bid against her they were free to do so.

Larissa heard someone else call out a bid for 'G'. Well, she may not have known who the boy was, but she was not going to lose. Losing was something Larissa didn't particularly enjoy. In fact, she hated it. And, as she turned to look, she saw that the bidder was Alyssa Snow. Larissa's eyes narrowed. No way was she going to lose to this girl. A Glam Squad member. Larissa's arm shot in the air. "20 Galleons on G." She called again, casually. She sounded almost relaxed. Larissa had learnt to hide the sudden bursts of adrenaline which would suddenly invade her system.

Alyssa rolled her eyes and sighed obviously the person bidding against her had some sort of an issue or something, the Half-Veela wasn't really all that much into a competitive but there was something that told her that she should keep bidding, sometimes it paid off to have a rich daddy. "Changed my mine, I'll bid 50 galleons for G." Alyssa answered once more softly, she hated to lose of course but she wasn't going to be ridiculous about this whole thing. Especially when there were plenty of other boys to bid on.

Larissa shrugged as the next bid was called for 'G'. She was certain that no boy was worth that much, and she'd only come here for a laugh. Larissa raised her hand. She planned to bid on another boy.. But what could make Alyssa feel the need to bid so highly? Did she know something that Larissa didn't? She decided to bite.. "51 Galleons on G." she added again, coolly. She was, for the most part, indifferent as to who had the winning bid. But now, it was curiosity which forced her to continue.

Alyssa raised an eyebrow when Larissa only bid one more than she had bid, she would have expected her to go higher and try to beat her out for it. "60 Galleons for G." Alyssa raised the bid nine more galleons not at all bothered by the price, she had no idea why she was spending this much money on someone but chances are she would just let him spend the night however he wanted, hopefully Vincent wouldn't mind either.

Larissa shook her head, smiling. She was certainly not going to pay such a high price for some unknown boy. No, a few galleons, maybe, but not that much. After all, Larissa was here for fun. She only had eyes for one. Larissa bid again, raising her hand. "6 Galleons on R." She said in a nonchalant way. She laughed to herself; getting caught up in the moment had almost cost her twice the figure she spent on school supplies each year.

Hilde stuck close to Ariah, not pleased that the other girl kept bidding on the mystery boy that her roommate seemed to want as her Yule Ball date. Finally, the other girl moved on to a different boy, and she began to relax. This group was almost ready to be finished with, so she bided her time, hanging close to her friend until the next group was called up. She was not going to fight over one of the boys that seemed to have admirers already, but instead wait for the next batch to come up.

Alexandra was having second thoughts on going to the Halloween Feast. Her mother always thought she was crazy for not falling into the Halloween craze-anyone with her ability would have a blast. Last minute though, she decided to show up, and she put something together that day. She wore her rattiest and dirtiest clothes, then went outside into the great lawn and dug up a tiny bit of dirt, only to smudge it on her face that evening. She arrived in the Great Hall looking like a hobo. Not creative at all, but it was better than something like her 'reflection'.

Oh, how could this completely have slipped my mind? Alexandra thought to herself as she approached the auction that the Brotherhood of Magic was hosting. She saw a couple of boys dressed up as Dementors and Death Eaters, and she listened as many of her peers went at it bidding for a mysterious person that they didn't even know the identity of. At first, she wasn't very interested with this, so she took a seat and watched the show.
