Open The Brew Crew

Lilith noticed Susie and who she knew to be her brother lingering around and making a way to move. She also noted that the Zephyr boy was there, at least she thought that was him from sorting ceremony. Keeping an eye on the pair she watched them come closer and noted the clenched fists of the boy. "It's alright just keep walking Freddie," She said to the boy with a soft encouragement. Giving Susie a smile and a silent Hello she welcomed the two before glancing sideways to her boyfriend. "You wanted to be a healer yes? Taking a club for potions wouldn't be such a bad idea Antares. It should do you good, besides you like potions." She gave the blond a somewhat pointed look to emphasis.

Ten turned to see Veronica headed her way, a smile of her own mirrored on her face. Her cheeks flushed at the compliment, and the sixth year almost matched the red shade of her hair, that she was now trying to use as a curtain to hide her embarrassment. "Don't know what you're talking about," Ten retorted, trying to keep an air of cool but failing miserably. She didn't really know how Veronica did it, she just seemed so graceful and put together at all times, and the way she didn't seem fazed by telling someone how she felt was admirable. "Yeah?" She was grateful that there would be another older student among them willing to help the others, and while perhaps Ten didn't know too much about Veronica's potion making skills if not because whenever she had paid attention to her in class it was because she was paying attention to her, she trusted that Veronica wanted to do what she could for the younger years. "Thank you," she told her suddenly sincerely, her eyes trying to meet hers in such a way that Veronica didn't think the comment was off the cuff, "for being here."

Freddie wasn’t expecting someone to say his name. How did she know his name? Did Susie tell her? Did Susie tell her about Ares? The Ravenclaw relaxed his fists, face burning with embarrassment. He was trying to look cool, but he didn’t feel very cool, staring at the floor, surrounded by his big sister’s friends. What if Ares turned on him next? What if he told everybody Freddie was a big baby who let his sister drag him around? What if he made the whole club hate him?

No - Freddie wouldn't let that happen. He'd fight Ares again if he had to. He didn't care if it got him detention for the rest of the year. Nobody could stop him - not Susie, not some girl she knew, not his professors. His heart thumped as he stood there, jaw clenched, not daring to look back at the stall. If Ares said anything, if he tried anything, if he even just laughed at Freddie, he was going to
get it.

The Ravenclaw wandered off under the protection of his older sister, and soon they were gathered around an army of older kids. Ares, unlike them, didn't need his older sisters to look after him. The first year kept his eyes on the Ravenclaw, daring him in his head to just glance in his direction. Suddenly he heard another familiar voice coming his way, which was his cue to leave. The Gryffindor promptly strode forward, not looking at the older students but instead just glazed past the Ravenclaw, mere inches away. He made a point not to touch him, hoping that he would just know he'd passed him. Before Ares disappeared into the Great Hall he glanced over his shoulder, raising his eyebrows at the Ravenclaw on the off chance he had looked up, before losing himself in the flurry of those coming out from their breakfast.

Demi knew what she wanted from herself and others this year and didn't intend to get caught up with the drama of those in her year. She completed blanked those in her class as she came out of the Great Hall, no intention of heading to the club fair, either. She had Quidditch to attend to this year, regardless of whether or not she'd end up as an alternate. And if she didn't even make that? Well, she'd practice on her own then. She was walking past another stall which had a number of kids lingering around it, "What is this?" Demi asked the older girl who seemed to be handing out the leaflets. It was a potions club, and while Demi didn't exactly enjoy potions, she was enjoying figuring out how things worked and what she could do to fix things. Would she be able to make something that she could use to help her with her Muggle Studies? The Ravenclaw wrote her name down, paying very little mind to those around her.

"And it'll be way less intense," said Susie, thinking about the duelling tournaments. She'd never participated herself - the stress of getting up on a stage would probably knock her out before her opponent could cast a single spell - but she'd been to watch a couple of them. It all seemed kinda serious. She looked down at the blond head in front of her. Freddie was awfully quiet. Merlin, she loved him, but if he caused any trouble in the club, in front of all her friends, she was going to kill him. "You should definitely join," she told Eoghan, looking back up at him. "You could even be a Brewmaster. You're amazing at Potions."

Eoghan glanced to the smaller boy, wondering why Lilith was telling Freddie to keep walking. He didn't know what was going on with him or even really who he was, so he'd have to ask her about it later. The blonde nodded as she told him the club was probably beneficial for him, but it was Susie that he was looking at with slightly wide eyes. A compliment? He'd been insulted by her enough times to know that when she said she thought he was amazing at potions, he believed it. "Yeah, I guess so." It would help him, although while it would be less intense than the SDA, it would add to his list of commitments for the year. "Alright, I'll sign up. But I'm not signing up as a Brewmaster yet," he told them, thinking that if he was going to take on more things outside of classes he didn't want to be responsible for other people learning off him yet.

Lilith kept an eye on the situation with Freddie but didn't want to pester the boy too much, especially given how embarrassed he seemed over it. She was listening to the conversation going on but her eyes followed the youngest Zephyr, making sure the boy didn't catch her friends brothers attention in a bad way the brunette turned to him. "I don't think we have been formally introduced, anyways I'm Lilith also a Ravenclaw and in Susie's year! How have you liked it so far at the school?" Lilith gave a nod and a gentle rub on Eoghan's back to signal she'd heard and urging him to go do his thing but she was not about to leave Freddie alone and she'd tell him the details later, right now she just wanted the first years focus anywhere but the Gryffindor that had walked past them.

Feeling someone pass by, Freddie looked up. Those eyebrows said everything. They said: Look what a loser you are, hiding behind your sister. Ha ha. I'm laughing at you. What are you going to do about it? Oh, that's right - nothing.

What was Freddie supposed to do? Run after him? Then what? Push him over? For raising his eyebrows? That was crazy - everyone would think he was crazy. Nobody would see how Ares was winding him up. They'd just see Freddie shoving him. Ten, Susie, her friends, that other prefect - they'd all see. He'd be out of the club before he was even fully in.

One of them was talking to him. Freddie was so deep in panic, he didn't catch anything that came before Lilith's name. Huh? How was school? "Oh. Yeah," he mumbled. He was still a bit embarrassed to be stood there, Susie's hands on his shoulders, but at least Ares had vanished. Crap. How was school? It was OK. It was OK, apart from Ares and Chase and everyone else who scared him. "I like it."
