Ava Davershire welcomed the students entering the Great Hall with a warm smile. The holidays had flown by, and the Headmistress couldn't believe that it was time for another year of school to start. The Sorting Ceremony was something Ava loved attending, so she made sure the Hall looked immaculate. The roof was, as always, charmed, the stars twinkling above the student's heads. The roaring fires on each end of the Hall kept the large room warm and homely, the candles flickering above the tables made the room even more magical.
Ava approached the podium, the chatter in the Hall quickly dying out. "Hello all, and welcome to another year at Hogwarts." Ava started off happily. "Welcome to all our new students, this will be your home for the next seven years - if you treat it well, it will treat you well. And welcome back to all our old students, it's great to see you all again!" Ava stated smiling. "A reminder to all that the Forbidden Forest is strictly out of bounds, and any rule breakers will be punished." Her blue eyes studied the new faces in front of her, some looking nervous, some excited, others indifferent. "First years, when your name is called, please come and sit here," Ava started, gesturing to the stool "And I will place the Sorting Hat on your head. The Sorting Hat will decide where you will be staying for your school years. When it's made it's decision, you may go and sit with you new House." Ava grinned, excited to get the year started.

OOCOut of Character:
As stated in the Information about Sorting thread, you must fill out the sorting form entirely properly and fill in an RP as exemplified in the post. If your RP does not leave room for the sorting hat to sort you: you will not be sorted. If the sorting hat does not receive your sorting form: you will not be sorted. Follow instructions and: you will be sorted.

You can edit your post once you are sorted, but be sure that you only reply to this topic once and it is through the sorting form provided. Thank you.

It comes but once, but once each year,
When, I, the sorting hat appear.
I appear to sort the latest batch,
To look within and find a match.
To seek the person who does reside,
Beneath the skin, deep down inside.

Rest assured, I do take care,
To avoid mistakes and always be fair,
Because I know my duty is very great,
The decisions I make affecting fate.
So do not approach with a sense of fear,
Embarrassed when seated upon your rear.
And when I’m placed upon your head,
Your thoughts should not be full of dread.
Approach with confidence, pure and true,
Give me the chance to honour you.

Those who step forth brave with pride,
Likely in Gryffindor they will reside.
Fire and Lion, scarlet and gold,
A house of friends, strong and bold.

Hard working kids who value fair play,
May find that Hufflepuff is where they stay.
The Earth and Badger, yellow and black.
Loyalty and tolerance, keep them on track.

Creativity and intelligence will help some soar,
Above the rest to Ravenclaw’s door.
Air and Eagle, bronze and blue.
The wisdom to make dreams come true.

And finally those, resourceful and cunning,
Ambitious and powerful are in the running.
They’ll join the house of silver and green,
Where water and serpents stage the scene.

Now, one last thing, please take heed,
Here is some advice that you may need.
This school has grown in a short time,
So have mistakes and heinous crime.
A challenge to all present, to look within,
No matter the house I've placed you in.
To do your best and persevere,
To use your strengths and face your fear.

The time has come, no more delay,
I call you forth, come on, let’s play

Kris played with his jumper sleeves as he walked up the aisle between long tables. he shivered with cold and anticipation as he watched a woman, the headmistress, talk to the whole room. he looked around for Pixie or Logan but he couldn't find them in the crowd, so he kept his head down.

As the Hat, began to sing, Kris looked up again. 'Brave with Pride,' are Gryffindors. Kris sniffed, his eyes beginning to water. he'd never be brave. he mentally shook himself. it wasn't up to him to rule out houses. it was the Hat. Seeing as the Hat has been doing it for ages, it must know what it's doing. During his thinking he missed what the sorting hat had said about the other houses, except that Intelligence is the Ravenclaw's Thing.

'Kristophoros Turner!' The headmistress called out. He stumbled as he walked forward, moving through other newbies. He stepped up to the Stool and sat down. 'Oh my god! This is actually happening.' he thought. he wiped his tears away and waited, anxiously.

"If you're hoping to make friends at Hogwarts I can think of no better place to do that than in HUFFLEPUFF!"

This was the agonizing moment of truth, where he would be sorted into a house that made no sense to him until he read more about it. Logan Vacarius did not look forward to this at all; in fact, he dreaded it. Dressed in school clothing, Logan entered the Great Hall. He looked up as he saw the sky but it was on the ceiling. He pretended not to be amazed, but even deep down, he was fascinated. No, he needed to stay focused on expanding his learning in the muggle world only. He had a hard enough time fitting into the muggle world, he did not need the outside feel to the magical world too! He just could not handle it. Logan sighed as he waited for the name to be called, not noticing that the hat was talking. He was too busy staring at his sneakers that showed that he did not receive new shoes often at all. Before long, he heard his name, and he followed suit, before sitting down. He felt the hat perch upon his head, and he waited the verdict, unaware that the hat made all the decisions, not the woman next to him and had some other announcer shout the foreign words. All he knew was that Dean was in Ravenclaw. Would he be in the same house?

"Might as well be GRYFFINDOR!"

Aliyah Mae Wright felt extremely small under the high magical ceiling of the Great Hall. The train ride to Hogwarts felt like ancient history and the stress of sorting had finally got to her. O.W.Ls and N.E.W.Ts you can prepare and study for, but how could she prepare herself for a mind reading by a magical talking hat whose sole purpose was to determine her future. Aliyah glanced around at the faces that surrounded her in the herd of unsorted first years. She spotted her train companions among the crowd and gave them each a small smile. She remembered how sure Rodrigo had been about being sorted into Ravenclaw and wished that she would have given her placement more serious thought. She was still certain that Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw were out of the question, but she didn't know what to make of Gryffindor and Slytherin. The silly hat's song didn't help matters either. Strong and bold sounds about right. she thought to herself. But ambitious and powerful... If she didn't know her own mind on this matter how could she hope an old hat would be able to find the best place for her.

"Aliyah Wright"

The eleven year old made her way to the front when her name was called. She may not have known what house she wants to be in, but she most definitely knew what she wanted for her future. Aliyah faced the entire school and hesitantly took her seat on the stool. As soon as the hat was placed on her head, so closed her eyes and thought of her plan. A clear picture of her future self being sworn in as minister for magic floated around in her head. As long as she was placed in house that could help her reach that goal, she would be content. "Ok..." she mumbled under her breath. She clutched her hands on either side of the seat and held her breath as she waited for the Sorting Hat to tell her fate.

"Being ambitious is one thing, but don't let your head get too big or you might not be able to get off the stool without toppling over. Let's see how this goes: SLYTHERIN!"

It was time for the final Romanes to go in and get sorted. Asa should have felt something like excitement, but he did not. He just was. Asa stood with the rest of the first years, and he awaited to be sorted like everyone else. His oldest full-blood siblings were all sorted into a different house. If only there were five houses, and then he would shoot for that house so that he did not have to become the shadow of whoever. It was something he actually wanted. Though, either house he landed in, he would be on his own. That seemed like the best. He stood with the other potential first years and remained still. He watched the hat sort people, and before long, his name was called. Asa walked up to the stool and sat down. He waited for which house he would end up in. No matter what, he would be in the same house as a previous Romanes.

"SLYTHERIN!"

Charlotte wasn't sure what she was more excited about, the fact that she was away from her parents and all of their rules, or the fact that she was in this beautiful castle! "I could definitely get used to living in a castle." The blonde thought to herself as her green eyes darted from corner to corner. Books did this place little justice when it came to describing Hogwarts. Charlotte had only been in the castle a short time but she was already in love with this wonderful place. From the corner of her eye she could see the expression of her future classmates and could see that they were just as excited as she was to be here. Plus her parents wouldn't be around to enforce all their pointless rules on her. Charlotte may have been a proper little lady for the most part, but she wasn't afraid to be sneaky and break the rules if she needed to. How else would she live in her house? Her parents refused to ever let her do anything exciting, so sneaking around was the only way she accomplished keeping her sanity. Hogwarts would be different. Hopefully their rules wouldn't rival the ones set in place by her parents already.

The group gathered around a stool and were told how they would be sorted. Apparently some hat could figure out where they would be best suited for the next seven years. Charlotte raised her eyebrows curiously. Where would she belong? Charlotte didn't really look into the houses, and she was beginning to be thankful that she hadn't. What if she had her sights set on one house, but wound up in another? Surely this hat knew better than she did. Since Charlotte's last name started with a B, she was one of the first few to be called. When her name was announced, Charlotte smiled softly and pushed her way up to the front. The stool and the hat were in sight now, and Charlotte did her best to remain poised and confident. Not even a second after she sat down, the hat was sat on her head, and Charlotte froze. Although she normally didn't mind the attention, this felt sort of awkward. Not only were the other unsorted students looking at her, but so were some that were already sitting at the house tables. Charlotte remained quiet and still as she awaited for the hat to come to a decision.

Vulcan Zhefarovich had a good time so far, and he thought that this was his time to shine in the school. Vladimir and Zinaida had a couple years on him, same with Sergei, but Vulcan was ready to stir up some more trouble, and he could not wait to get started on it. He looked forward to this more than anything about the school. He wanted to learn what all he can get into before he would be sent to detention, or even expelled. That was something that interested him the most, well, besides the art of setting things on fire. Vulcan was discovered to be a wizard when he used his magic to set the curtains on fire when he was a child. Soon enough, the ceremony started. His silver eyes looked up as he heard the names called out. He would be closed to dead last, if not dead last. Eventually, it was his turn. He strolled up to the stool and sat down on the seat. He felt the hat upon his hand, and he let the fire dance in his head as he debated on how big a bonfire would get if one of those house tables were thrown into the pile.

"I'm hoping you'll grow up a little and become a proper GRYFFINDOR! Please don't prove me wrong."

Today was the day, Archie was finally getting sorted. He had been anticipating this day for years now. Ever since he joined his new family and learned he was a wizard, he wanted to be sorted. From the very beginning magic had amazed him. For the last few years he had seen others cast spells, brew potions, send owls. He always envied the abilities they had, and wanted to have those abilities himself. No more waiting or anticipating. Now it was his turn to learn magic and make his mark on the world. He now had the chance to experience the wonders of the magical world first hand. No more hearing stories or reading about magic in books, he wanted to learn it all by himself, and teach everyone else in the process. He could hardly contain his excitement as he fought his way to the front of the group. They would soon be his peers, he had the next seven years to make friends. He only had this one day to be sorted and wanted to make the most of it. If he took today for granted, he was sure would regret it until graduation.

The longer he waited, the more excited be became. After his family and talked this school up, said it was the best place to go, told him he would have the greatest years of his life within the castle walls all he wanted was to be sorted. He felt slightly irritated that he needed to wait for his name. Though he ignored that feeling and waited as patiently as he could. At the sound of his name, Archie stepped forward and settled on the stool, waiting for the sorting hat to make a decision.

"I think Godric would find you to be a very excellent addition to his house. GRYFFINDOR!"

Arabella could not believe that it was already time for her to attend Hogwarts New Zealand! She had been looking forward to this day for ages. Her mother and father had both attended this school, but not her stepfather as he had gone to a school in America. Her family had dropped her at the train station that morning, making her promise to write after the sorting ceremony with the name of the house that she was in. Her green eyes widened in awe as she stepped into the Great Hall for the first time. It was so beautiful. She couldn't imagine ever getting used to the changing ceiling that reflected the night sky. Bella stood patiently in line with all of the other first years, bouncing up and down with excitement (and maybe a few nerves) only slightly. "Rider, Arabella." The blonde heard her name called. She walked up to the stool that was sitting in the platform. She sat down and waited for the sorting hat to make its decision.

"Your fun and caring nature is a perfect fit for HUFFLEPUFF!"

Bridgette couldn't believe it she was already old enough to go to Hogwarts. Her mother must have felt the same way because she cried for at least an hour before letting Bridgette finally get on the train. "Mothers." Bridgette thought to herself as she glanced in the direction of the Professor's table and noticed her mother sitting among the other heads. The moment her blue eyes locked in with her mother's different colored one's, she noticed her mother beginning to give her the 'look'. Bridgette sighed and broke her gaze. The only downside to Hogwarts, was having to worry about her mother watching over her all of the time. Bridgette would much rather get in trouble with the meanest Professor at this school than her mother, and her mother wasn't even that strict. Bridgette did her best to keep her eyes straight as she followed her future classmates up to the podium where the Headmistress was standing next to an old hat and a stool. Bridgette was eager to be sorted, but she wasn't as eager to have that hat on her head. Mostly because she had heard some stories from her mother about that hat. Maybe they should call it the burn hat instead of the sorting hat?

They were given a simple set of directions, and then the sorting had begun. Bee's last name started with a K so she wasn't one of the first nor was she was of the last. Which was just how she liked it. One after one they were sorted into their houses, and Bridgette became more and more aware of the students she might get along with and which ones she'd try her best to avoid. Finally, it was her turn to be sorted! Bridgette smiled softly and headed up to the podium. The hat was placed onto her head and Bridgette giggled. It felt so weird! In fact she was ninety percent sure that she could feel it moving around on her head! Silencing the laughter, Bridgette listened in carefully so she would be sure to know which house the sorting hat chose for her. If she was lucky, it wouldn't be Hufflepuff, but in the end, Bridgette figured she would be grateful for anything.

"You could make a great Hufflepuff, but I think you're even more well suited to being a GRYFFINDOR!"

Another Styx arrives to the school. It was definitely not shocking. Bothizar was not the last of the Styx bunch too. He was instead one of the latter ones. He had twin sisters that were younger, and a baby brother. Then there would not be anymore. Not until the others have more children. Bothizar walked into the Great Hall he heard all about. Onyx eyes locked forward as he stared at the Headmistress and the sorting hat. He had a lot of siblings in several houses, and one in Gryffindor. He did not know what he could end up in. Bothizar thought about cracking open a book, but his name was called. Sighing, he walked up to the stool and sat down. The hat soon fell upon his blonde head. He stared ahead, in a blank state as he waited to be sorted. It was easy to tell that he was another one of the Slytherin Head of House’s son.

"Hmm, you're bright to be sure, but I can't see the wisdom in you that Rowena sought in her students - which makes you fairly difficult to place. Let's see if your father can keep you out of trouble. SLYTHERIN!"

Tressa Kaine was very excited to finally be in the school of her dreams. She never knew such a place as this could actually exist! It was unbelievable! Tressa tried to hide her smile as she traipsed through the corridors behind the other students lead to the great hall. Regardless of the fact that she missed her father dearly, she could not bring herself to dislike this moment. Eyeing the other students as the came to a stop in the centre of the room, Tressa was glad to see that there looked like a lot of nice people she could meet and be friends with. One of the things she was most curious about however, was the reason they were in this room and why there was a weird old hat on the stool. Tressa tilted her head as she watched it began to speak and nearly jumped into the air. So hats could speak in this world? Tressa had to think about that for a second because it was definitely something she was not used too. However she found no fear in it and continued to move around as more and more names were called up and placed into groups. Some of the students seemed happy with their placement, some didn't seem to really understand and some even seemed confused or upset. Tressa didn't care either way, mostly because she didn't understand the point of the weird groupings and talking hats and things that happened in this world, but she was excited to find out! As her name was called, Tressa moved through the crowd and stood in front of the stool. The hat was placed on her head and she sat on the stool. Because the hat was so large, it blocked most of her view. She was rather excited about this, that was for sure. She moved her hand up to stroke the material of the hat. It felt weird and leathery, but she liked it. She hoped the hat was super nice. "You feel strange and old, Mister hat." She whispered, a smile breaking out on her face.

"Well I can't say you feel very pleasant to be set on top of, either - we're both just stuck here until I do my job so how about you let this strange old magical thing that has your future in its stuffing do its work, hmm? I think you'll fit best, and be more than able to accomplish your goals, in GRYFFINDOR!"

Demonia couldn't remember a time when her brothers weren't around for her to keep an eye on, and now she had a whole year by herself. "I'm sure I'll find someone else to coddle. But I really miss those two buttheads." Demonia thought to herself as she entered the Great Hall. The moment she was inside her eyes carefully took in the size of the place. The castle itself looked big enough to get lost in, and this room itself looked like it took up half of the castle. There were tables upon tables sitting about the room, and students already occupied a great deal of them. They must have been the older students. Demonia bit her bottom lip and avoided looking at any of them. Many of her cousins were already students here, but she couldn't see any of them from the brief glance she took at the student body. Actually, she couldn't even remember what houses they were in let alone which year. Maybe if she had an idea she could have an easier time trying to find them. But since she couldn't, she didn't want any of the other students to catch her staring at them. No one liked to be stared at. At least, that's what Demonia figured.

Demonia wasn't paying attention when the Headmistress gave directions on sorting, so when the first student was called up to be sorted, she found herself growing confused. Thankfully her last name started with a Z, so she had some time to catch up and try to figure out what was going on. So the hat was placed on their head and they were sorted into a house. Easy enough. One by one they were all sorted off into their respective houses, and suddenly Demonia found it to be her turn. "I wish I didn't have to go all the way up there to be sorted." That way it'd be harder for people to look at her. Demonia held her breath in as she stepped up to the stool and podium. It wasn't until she sat herself down that she released the breath she had been holding. The hat seemed quick at deciding, so hopefully it wouldn't take long for it to decide where Demonia belonged. Demonia didn't have a preference since she had no idea what the houses were. So wherever the hat thought best, was where she would be eager to go.

Freya was just a face in the crowd of unsorted eleven-year-olds and found her elation at the acceptance quickly turning to a nervous roiling in her gut at the thought of the Sorting taking place in front of the entire school. The students around her hushed as the man at the head of the room announced the start of another year at Hogwarts. Soon the students were being called one by one and were sitting with their assigned houses. Freya's hands grew damp with sweat as he got closer to the end of the alphabet. "Yax, Freya." She walked as if in slow motion through the sparse group of un-sorted students and sat on the creaky stool at the front of the great room in a nervous haze. Only one thought ran through her head once the hat was placed: 'I'm too young for this kind of stress. Please choose quickly!'

"Fine then - hop along to your peers in RAVENCLAW - quick as you like!"

Raymond Mandy was excited to be getting sorted. He had been waiting for this moment ever since he could walk. This would define an important part of himself. It wouldn't mark a new beginning,.who wanted to start all over again? He wanted to see where Ray was going to be placed. Watching everyone before him go made Raymond even more anxious.Raymond was ready to be sorted. His palms were already sweaty. Michelle had told him that his older brother was very smart. That made him happy. It showed that he had that potential too. Ray clearly had a promising future. He didn't have to be skilled in Divination to see that. His name was called. It was time to be judged. "Oh God," he muttered. He slowly walked up to the stool. The woman had to tell him to take a seat. He hadn't realized he was just stating at the thing. He sat down. He couldn't see Rayvnn at all. The hat was placed on his head. "Do you think I can make it?" He thought. Thinking of the future always made Raymond nervous. What of he was going to be a failure like his parents? He closed his eyes and waited.
"I think everyone can 'make it' at Hogwarts - but perhaps you'll find yourself most motivated and encouraged to strive for your best in SLYTHERIN!"

This was it. The moment Zara had been waiting for. She was eager and practically was standing on her toes as she impatiently waited for her name to be called. She knew which house she wanted. It was imprinted on her brain. Unfortunately it was taking forever for her to be able to convey her wish to the hat. She watched as other first years went before her and had their turn. "McCaffrey, Zara." At last. The eleven year old was quick to sit on the stool. The moment she felt the hat on her head the begging began. Gryffindor. Please Gryffindor. It must be Gryffindor.

"Normally I'd bend and let you be a Gryffindor if that's what you really wanted - but in your case you're just not enough of a lion to sway me. You're undoubtedly a SLYTHERIN!"

"Wow...." Frederick was glad that he had a whole year to wrap his head around this whole magical wizard thing, but nothing could prepare him for walking into the Great Hall for the first time. "I can see way they call it great." he whispered to the person standing next him. His fellow first-year stared back at him like he said something bad about their mother. "Just saying mate." Fred wished his brother was here to see all this. He would have loved it. Out of all his family members, Fred's older brother Jon was the most stoked about the news there was a wizard in the family. Not as cool as having superpowers, but still very cool he had said. The eleven year old smiled to himself at the memory. He watched as his new classmates began making their way to the front and were sorted to their houses. It was crazy how old hat could be so intimidating. How does that thing work any way? he thought to himself as the Sorting Hat shouted another verdict. "Mensah, Frederick" The Head Mistress announced his name and suddenly the situation became very real for the young boy. Frederick Jerome Mensah was a wizard, attending Hogwarts in New Zealand, and sorting was just the first step in what he hoped would be an amazing journey. Fred walked up and sat frozen on the stool, unsure what he was suppose to do next.

"I think you'll find it quite pleasant in RAVENCLAW!"

Ravynn looked around the room as she marveled at the sight of this place. Everything was so big and it was almost more then Ravynn could handle. The floating candles, the charmed roof, the moving pictures, it was amazing. Ravynn was no stranger to magic of course, but all of her reading had never quite prepared her for the sheer wonder of it all really. Smiling as she looked at her twin, Ravynn moved forward with the others and grinned at the hat. She had to admit that it was pretty cool that it could talk. She never thought she would see a talking hat in her life. As it got closer and closer to her name and Raymond's being called, Ravynn gripped her brother's hand and rest her head on his shoulder. She was scared, she wasn't sure why, but if she had to guess it was because she and Ray Ray had always been together and now they were likely going to be apart. She knew she was his opposite in many ways, they couldn't be more different if they tried, but still, Ravynn was scared because she didn't want to have to branch out on her own. It was true that she always tried to get Raymond to be more social, but he was outgoing, Ravynn was just as likely to sit in the corner of a dark room by herself and read. She had always been like that, she still hadn't changed. Soon Ray's name was called and she gave her brother's hand one last squeeze before making her way up to the hat. With a deep breath and a sigh, she awaited her fate.

"You'll have plenty of time to spend with your brother, but the place where you're most likely to grow into the person you'd like to be is in HUFFLEPUFF! I'm sure you'll find plenty of good friends there."

Andrew was lead into the Great Hall, and he couldn't believe that he was really at Hogwarts, about to be sorted. He still remember the pride his parents had showed when his acceptance letter had arrived, and the pride within himself. Now as he stood with the other unsorted students, and looked out over the tables of students, his stomach lurched. This happened often, his shyness would leak in, and now his hands started to sweat. Andrew didn't really know what house he wanted to be in, it didn't really matter to him, but deep down he hoped it wasn't Slytherin. But what if he was chosen for Slytherin? The thought chased it's way through Andrew's head, making him all the more nervous. Names were being called, one by one, all the soon-to-be first years became being sorted, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw...all students being sorted to different houses. "Poltergest, Andrew." His name seemed to ring in his own ears, and before he could help himself, Andrew looked around the room, as if searching for someone else to take his place. But no one was going to step forward for him. Andrew slowly shuffled over to the stood, and sat, and shivered as the hat was placed on his head. As it was, Andrew though of everything he believed in... loyalty, bravery, brains, strength, friendship, family, dragons...magic.

"Your dedication to others and unflinching commitment, even if the work is hard, makes you a more than excellent HUFFLEPUFF!"

Nathaniel entered the great hall with all the other first years. He looked around and thought //Wow! This place is amazing! Better than Dad told me! I´m excited to be sorted!// He looked around to see all the students on their housetable and grinned. Will he be in the same house as his dad and all of his fathers family? Dad told him whereever the sorting hat would place him, the decision would be right, so Nath wasn´t nervous at all. he knew he would be sorted, he also had a favorite house, from all what dad told him and a least favorite house. But he trusted in the hats decison.
The boy heard his name, smiled and walked up to sit on the stool, the hat now on his head.
Which house would it be?

<SIZE size="50">Ailsa Evans could not quite believe where she was. She couldn't believe that this was Hogwarts New Zealand. All the arguments that she'd made about it. All the fights that she'd won, and finally here it was. Hogwarts New Zealand. The stone beneath her feet. The stones in the wall. All of it. All of it was that school she'd been waiting for, for years. She knew she wouldn't be able to sway her brother into transferring, or her sister into considering it over the other Hogwarts. Which Ailsa was perfectly okay with. She had wanted to go to Hogwarts in New Zealand because of how different it was to the other school, but still how similar. She couldn't believe that soon she would be sorted into a house. Her mother had been a ravenclaw and her brother was a slytherin. She knew that for her, it could go any of the ways. She was just sure that hufflepuff was the least likely of the four. It was just another house in which she knew she wouldn't do too well. They were all hard working in that house. She was only hard working at the things she actually wanted to do. Nothing else. Not ever. Ailsa was glad that she'd won those arguments, she was happy to be surrounded by those students who were to be her fellow students in the years which followed. She couldn't wait to get started on the lessons, which was odd because Ailsa was not studious. She was incredibly excited to see the pitch. To be able to get out to it and try it out. She was looking forward to being able to test out the different school brooms, since she did not yet own one. She was looking forward to joining any other sports clubs too. She was just very much looking forward to this entire experience. All the years she would have here, all the achievements she would make. She hoped to make. She couldn't wait to see what this school was really like. She couldn't wait to test the water, and push all the right boundaries. Ailsa was very excited to be there at hogwarts, and at those thoughts, she followed the moving crowd into the great hall.

From what she'd heard was that actually in layout, the schools were pretty much the same. But, she was sure that it was the people that made it different. From what she knew, Slytherin here, was one of the best houses. The had some bad eggs, as such, but so did the other houses. It was a strong house, but then she knew that her cousin was in Gryffindor house, so that added something to that house. Ravenclaw was nice, and while Ailsa liked to think of herself as smart, she was really only good at sports, that didn't very often translate to anything other than playing well. It wasn't as her father, a real measure of intelligence. Ailsa was then left with Hufflepuff, and she thought the house would be plenty nice, she knew that it wasn't the right house for her. Though Ailsa did in part realise that a house like Hufflepuff might just tone her down slightly, so it could still be an option for her. It was difficult, she hoped the hat would do a better job than she was with this sorting business. Ailsa glanced to the headmistress as she began to speak. Ailsa, being of a slightly smaller stature made her way to the front of the crowd. She listened to what the headmistress said and then to what the sorting hat said, or well, what the sorting hat sang. She had of course known this would happen, but it was interesting to see it happen first hand. It was nice to hear singing that was both bad in her mind, but that she also didn't mind listening to. It was delaying what was to come. The exciting bit, which Ailsa felt a little nervous about. She tucked a few stray strands of her long brown hair behind her ear and then looked back up at the stage. She wondered if the professor would correctly pronounce her name, since some were a little more nervous about it than others. She knew that she wouldn't have to wait too long when the sorting hat, finally finished his song, and the sorting got under way. She watched carefully as her classmates got up, sat down in front of the school and got sorted. She was getting nervous the longer she was made to wait. She was just so thankful when the surnames hit E, and not too much later, "Evans, Ailsa".

Ailsa smiled brightly, both glad the professor had said it right, not like some pronounced it El-sa, but Ale-sa. She was also smiling because she was now walking to her fate. Ailsa sat herself on the stool and waited. It was only a matter of minutes before she was sorted, and she couldn't wait.

"Hufflepuff as your least likely house, hmm? I think it's a fairly obvious choice for you! There's something beneath the surface, but I'm not too sure how interested you actually are in exploring it... it may require you to break some rules now and then. Well, let's give you the chance at least - let's see what you can accomplish in GRYFFINDOR!"

Being at Hogwarts was like a dream come true for young Emily. Her name may have changed since she was born, but her feelings had always been the same about attending this school. Emily had dreamt about coming here ever since she could understand what her mother was working here for. As a Professor, Emily knew that she would likely run into her mother from time to time, but she did not mind too much at all. In fact, she thought it was rather fortunate to be honest. She would be able to see her mother most days and she was really looking forward too that. She had not gotten the chance too see too much of the woman when she was young so this was perfect! Walking into the great hall and looking around, Emily spied her mother and waved to her happily. She was standing close to her brother and nodded her head at him. This was all rather exciting. At home, Emily was used to having muggle things all through her house, seeing as her mother very dearly loved muggle things, so there was rarely any magic of the sort. Seeing it in use all the time at school was going to be a new experience, one she couldn't wait to have.

"Hayes, Emily." When she heard her name, Emily was not at all surprised that they had dropped half. She also didn't mind all that much as she was pretty sour on her father at the moment. Her mother was so happy now that her marriage had broken down and Emily knew that it was because there was someone else in her life. As a fellow member of the female species, Emily was glad her mother was finding happiness after her father, not that Nathanial saw it that way. Walking up to the stool, Emily placed the hat on her head and waited expectantly for where her Destiny should start.

Evander was easily the shortest person in the entire crowd of students. He was miniature compared to some of these children - some even looked freakishly tall. Well, to him anyway. He had heard a lot about this place from family members that had attended - and they were rather different accounts. But, he was comforted by the fact that part-goblins had been here before, and knew that he would be fine. He was always fine. He just wanted the names to be called out quicker - and would it be possible for everyone to move a little quicker? He wanted to be sorted and wanted to get everything started. He just couldn't wait any longer. He felt like he had been waiting for so long already and he was beginning to grow impatient. Because of this, he slipped through the crowd, gliding between the legs of his fellow new students, to stand closer to the front and hopefully avoid being stepped on by an excited student, or being forced to have to scream for a parting in the crowd to occur when his name was called. With his arms folded across his chest and his hair clouding his vision slightly, Evander listened carefully with slightly pointed ears as the seemingly endless list of names slowly crawled towards his own.

"Tuuri, Evander."

Cheering inwardly, Evander made his way towards the stool, carefully scaling the stairs and standing before the stool. Frowning. Story of my life. The stool was quite tall, but he was determined to climb it without any sort of assistance. he was not an invalid. He was perfectly capable of getting his butt on a stool - what did they take him for. With a small huff at his accomplishment, Evander smiled slightly as he looked out over the crowd and the four houses and their members. This was actually a little nerve-wrecking, yet he was ridiculously excited, and maybe a bit nervous, but definitely ready. It was like a whirlwind of emotion! his little legs swung as the Sorting Hat was placed on his head and sank down to obscure his sight. "Let's do this Mr. Hat!"

Isabella Nathaniel was ready for hogwarts. Her mom and dad waved at her when she stepped into the train. It was so beautiful a large train with a lot of students. She was wondering who her friends will be, Isabella was a social girl and was not afraid for a conversation. Her nephew Marcellus was a year older then she and sorted into hufflepuf. It seemed like fun if she would also be in Hufflepuf, she heard good story's about that house. But she was not afraid for a challenge but the one house she would not go was Slytherin.
They came by a great big castle that seemed like the place to be hogwarts. And so it was, beautiful even more beautiful then they described in books. They were standing for a very large door, and when it openend a lot of candles were floating in the air. Some older students were already sitting and Isabella looked for Marcellus but sadly it was to many people to see.

One by one they were calling to get sorted and then she heard: Isabella Nathaniel
