Gemma wrung her hands together nervously as she filed into the Great Hall with all her peers. Her wide eyes looked around the large room but despite all the magnificent enchantments in the room like the floating candles or the sky, she looked at all the older students around just staring at them with eager curiosity. She knew what to expect from the Sorting, it was just a hat placed on her head, but it didn't make her any less nervous to do it in front of such a huge crowd of people.

She watched the first half of the group get sorted, each going off in different directions individually and Gemma glanced over at the table of the House both her siblings used to be in. Would she end up there as well? Did she want to? She didn't even know. Her father didn't have to state it out loud for her to know that the expectation to follow in her siblings footsteps was implied. Gemma sighed to herself, wondering if she would even be happy or not to end up in the same house as her siblings.

Before long, she heard her name being called and Gemma's heart quickened. She wiped her clammy palms against her faded robe, a hand-me-down from her sister's closet, that barely fit her because she was so tall, and walked towards the stool. She quickly tried to flatten down her wild curls before the Hat was placed on her head and she anxiously awaited her fate.

Oliver went into the Great Hall and saw lot of students nearby. He was nervous, but he knew this moment had to go through. Oliver saw the Sorting Hat and it got him kinda excited, but he was more nervous than excited. Boy heard his name and Oliver walked onto the little stage and sat on the chair. He waited after for the hat to be put on him. The decision was coming...

Even though, Robert wanted the day to end faster - this moment was definately the one, he was excited for the most, when he got letter from Hogwarts. He slowly walked into the Great Hall with his new upcomming classmates. His eyes took a look all around the large room, althrough when he saw the Sorting Hat - he couldn't just resist, but ran a little bit faster to take the front row to the Sorting Ceremony. Robert wanted to see it from a closer point of view, so he got even more excited, when he was just few feets away.

He watched first few students get up and get sorted into houses. He didn't knew, what house he exactly wanted to be in, but definately not Slytherin. His parents are now graduated from Hogwarts and both of them were Gryffindor - but the question is, will he be a Gryffindor? Only the time will tell.

Robert heard his name and he slowly walked up and waited for the hat to be put on his little head. When that happened, he said - Please, not Slytherin! I want to be a Gryffindor! and hoped, that it will help.

"Don't worry, you're no Slytherin. You're not really a Gryffindor, either, though. But in which of the two remaining houses do you belong? I think you'll do best in RAVENCLAW!"

Emma calmly looked at the giant door of the Great Hall that swung open, revealing the Hall and everyone in it. A lot of the soon to be first years around her looked extremely nervous, like they wanted to be sorted right away, but were also scared of what the result of sorting might be. Some of them were under family pressure, if you come from a family of e.g. all Ravenclaws, they'll expect you to be one as well. Emma had nothing to worry about, coming from a family that had a large diversity in Hogwarts Houses. The group of first years moved slowly down the hall, towards the front where an old hat sat upon a crooked stool. Of course her family had told Emma about the hat and how it looked, but that didn't take away the fact that it looked rather disappointing. That old hat was going to decide in which house she'll have to spend the next seven years of her life? Really? One by one the students were called forward, after which they took place on the stool and got the hat put on their heads. For most of them the old hat was far too big and it would sink over their heads and sometimes even cover their eyes. Once Emma's name got called out she took place on the stool and she let her eyes look around the Hall, which now was rather impressing because every single person in there was looking directly at her. The hat got put on her head and Emma held it with her hands, to prevent it from covering her eyes, because her head was way too small for the hat to fit. She felt the hat move a bit and took a deep breath. Here we go.

Perrin stood in the group of first years, her along with the regs looking a little pale. While most of the other students were fretting that they weren't going to be put into the house they wanted, Perrin was nervous that she wouldn't get put into the right house. She's be perfectly happy with whatever house she got sorted into, as long as it was the right one. She fiddled with the small metal bird hanging around her neck. She had gotton the necklace from Alaska, when her family went there for vacation one year. She swallowed as various other first years were sorted, and cheers went up each time by the appropriate house tables. She took a deep breath, and observed the teachers. Most of them smiled and clapped politely each time a studnet was sorted. She wondered which one tought which subject...her thoughts were interrupted by a voice calling out,
"Blackmore, Peregrine" Perrin walked up to the stool, and as the ragged old hat was placed on her head, an giddy feeling bubbled up inside her. She was no longer nervous, but rather a nervous sort of excited. Which house would it be?

"There's quite a spark in you. You'll undoubtedly do well in GRYFFINDOR!"

It was one of those days where Az wanted to just stay in bed and cuddle with Mr. Jones, her orange monkey stuffed toy all day without being disturbed; but things turned out differently today. She had to wake up at around four in the morning just to wait prepare her things and at the same time watch the sun rise, it have been her usual day to day tradition. Waking up early and watching the sun rise, as she would read her dreams out loud, hoping that the sun would make it all happen. Az has been always hopeful of everything, just like she hopes to be in a house that will make her belong. She sat at on top of her table and opened her window, gazing at the sun's appearance. It's yellowish hue, glistening with brightness as it says hello to planet Earth. "Good morning Sun, sunny, you yellow rascal. I'm going to keep this short and simple, I wish I could be in a house that would be surrounded with boys, because you know how I hate girls and their gossips. Oh pretty please?" she pleaded, her eyes closed and her sweaty palms clasped together. It didn't take long for her to open her eyes and close her window, she reached for her purple necklace made by her Nana and placed it on top of her robes before going to the Great Hall to be sorted.

The entire place we're jam packed by different students of different race and faces, Az could feel her hands shaking as this would be the first time she had left home without her father. Quietly as she can, Az surpassed the other students and found a group of first years waiting to be sorted. How she hoped she was going to be next, she could already feel the heat on her face when one student was sorted in Slytherin. She didn't exactly knew what we're in stored for every house but she was sure that Slytherin was one of those popular kids or something, everyone just looked so mean but of course she wouldn't dare to judge them without knowing the real truth. It didn't take long for her name to be called, she swallowed as she caught everyone staring at her. Is it because of her thick eyebrows of her manly appearance, she wasn't sure of it just yet. Right, left, right left, then right again, Az took the last step and finally sat down the stool provided for them. When the sorting hat was finally placed on top of her head, the blonde couldn't help but squeal in surprise.

"Almost undeniably a SLYTHERIN!"

The times was finally here. The day she had been looking forward to her whole life, starting on Hogwarts, it was really a dream coming true. Eventhough she did not show it, she was really excited. She could feel the butterflies in her tummy, eventhough she weren't nervous, there were still there, flying around like crazy. When she stepped into the big dining hall, she was amazing. Never before had she seen such a huge room, it was amazing, but as she noticed some of the older students looked at her, she put her emotionless mask on, and started walking to the front with her eyes on the ground. She hurried, and sat down on the end of one of the long benches.
As people were starting to settle down, the welcome started, and it was now time for the sorting. The thing many of the new students feared. She had heard alot of the students talking about it in the train. Many knew which house they wanted, but MiCha still had her doubts. She really didn't know which house the prefered. Each of them had so much to offer.....
As she sat Deep in her thoughts, she heard her name called out loud. Biting her lower lip, she stood up, and calmly started walking towards the sorting hat. She didn't find it scary, she actually found it quite fascinating. She had read alot about it before coming here too, and it was really Unique and rare magic, which she really loved reading about, hoping to master some of it once.
She calmly sat down, and felt her Heart beat one extra time when the hat was placed on her heard.

"Your love of animals and affinity for darker things makes me have to choose between two houses that I very rarely consider for the same person. That said, I think you'll be best served in HUFFLEPUFF!"

As I approach the sorting hat it notices me. I nod towards it. so too does it nod back to me, as if an unspoken understanding is maintained. I glance over at the headmaster and he winks. I feel my wand twitch as if in anticipation. As I take up my seat and the ancient one is placed on my head all eyes are now upon me...

Now was the day every first year had been looking forward too. Getting sorted was one of the most important days of your life on Hogwarts, and Jongdae was really excited to find out where the sorting hat would place him, because he really didn't know which he would prefer. He hadn't really made any friends yet, so that wouldn't have any effect on the choice.
He had read alot about the different houses. They all had so much to offer, so how could one make a preference?
He calmly walked into the great hall. It was even move amazing than what he ever could have imagined. He started walking towards the front, while at the older students, he noticed not many were asian. He still had some problems with speaking the engelsk language, but he was working hard on it.
He calmly sat Down on one of the benches where the other first years also sat. He looked carefully at their faces, and noticed alot of them being nervous and even scared, but he was not. Of course the butterflies were in his tummy, but he wasn't scared or anything, just excited. He was actually quite fun looking at how scared some of them were. Not that he enjoyed seeing people scared, but just the fact that they are so scared of a hat. Yeah, it might me a talking magical hat, but still.

He heard his name were called, and felt some more butterflies in his tummy. It was just so exciting! Though his excitment were on top, he kept a quite calm face as he rose and calmly started walking towards the sorting hat. He studied the hat before sitting Down. As the hat were placed on his head he felt a adrenalin rush through his body, he still kept his calm face though, wouldn't embarrass himself before the other students.

"They're far less scared of me and more likely scared of what I can see in them... in you... and how that might shape their future. The fierceness in you and compassion for people will make you a very excellent GRYFFINDOR!"

Malachi's eyes drifted around the great hall with very little interest as he studied the other students around him and the sorting hat waiting to be placed on his head. The German boy had no doubt that he would be sorted into the right house for him, he cared very little what houses everyone else were being placed in, barely even moving his eyes from the rest of the hall to watch the people go in front of him. Waiting around was so tiresome, why his surname had to be one of the very last letters of the alphabet always annoyed him to no end. He wasn't nervous by any means, of course he wasn't. Malachi had ever right to be there in that hall surrounded by the other students and so there was no reason for him to be nervous about anything.

Finally his name was called and a smirk curled onto his lips as he strolled towards the sorting hat with his hands shoved leisurely in his pockets. He saw no need to be neat about anything and eyes shining a little with eagerness to finally get the whole sorting business out of the way he lowered himself down on the stool as the hat was placed on his head. Malachi didn't bother begging for some house he just sat there as still as a statue waiting for the whole thing to just finish. He would be sorted no doubt about that, the only question lingering in his young head was where.

Stella had been pretty sure she'd seen it all. A hidden train, a castle for a school, and even an enchanted ceiling with stars that blinked among wisps of clouds. The ceiling had definitely made her stumble while walking into the Great Hall, but there was no way it could have prepared her for this.

The girl had completely given up trying to act as if she knew what was going on when the beat-up hat resting on a stool in the front of the room started to sing. It took a minute for Stella to recollect her thoughts and actually try to focus on the song. Ravenclaw- creativity and intelligence. Slytherin- resourceful and cunning, she repeated to herself, trying to imprint the house names and their descriptions into her mind. Unfortunately, she had missed the other two, but Stella figured she'd learn about them soon enough.

The hat finally finished its song, and the first student was called up. Apparently, they would be going in alphabetical order. At least that would give her time to figure out what to do when she was summoned to the stool. After the first few students were sorted, Stella started to relax. It didn't look as if there was much to it. Just walk up, let the hat do its mind-reading thing, and walk to the corresponding table. She just hoped the hat wouldn't probe more than necessary.

Finally, her name was called. Stella strode toward the stool, trying to remind herself that it really couldn't be all that bad. Her mother had done this before. Which house had she been in? Stella didn't have much time to ponder the answer before the principal, no, headmistress gestured for her to sit down. The young girl obliged and tried to empty her mind as the hat was placed on her head, its brim flopping over her eyes and obscuring her vision.

The boy pressed his lips into a thin line as the first years were brought into the great hall. It wasn't scary seeing as this wasn't the first time Klaus had been center of a attention, but it didn't mean he was quite nervous. This decision affected the rest of his life in a way, or at least the rest of his school career, if he was put into a boring crowd who knows what he would turn out.

Hands in his pockets as he shifted in place, looking through the crowds of people, curious as to which houses they were put into. He'd already met some of them, some better than others. Patiently waiting for his name to be called as they went down the list, Niklaus finally heard his name echo through the vast walls of the great hall.

It was time.

Letting out a heavy sigh the boy gently pushed his way through the crowd and seated himself upon the old stool. "Alrighty...let's go hat."

Seeing typically odd creatures was comforting to the nervous Bhandari girl because it reminded her so clearly of her home and the surroundings she loved so she tried to focus on them as she waited for her name to be called. Her brown skin was pulled taught from anxiety as she stood around a group of her peers, occasionally looking up from her feet to the talking hat. It wasn't long until her own name was called and was so grateful that it'd been pronounced correctly. It could have lead to an awful nickname or two.

"Bhandari, Zarine."

Her name was called once more before she had plucked up the courage to walk up with nobly knees. Her dark hair was secured in a thick plait but she couldn't help but wonder if anyone had ever gotten lice from this hat which would be supremely disgusting and more likely than anything else. Still, her focus was kept on the words of the old Sorting Hat hoping that perhaps it would hurry up so she could get out of the limelight.

Dani Phena strode ahead of the other new first years. Her head was held high, so high in fact that some might regard it as arrogant. Which it was. Dani didn't feel nervous at all, in fact she was elated to have been given a spot at Hogwarts, although she had known since she had been born that of course she was going to get in. No school would be right to not accept her. She was the best candidate, and she knew that in her heart of hearts, she truly believed that.

When her name was called, Dani was indignant at not being called first. However, she kept her anger controlled, and calmly walked forward to the sorting hat. As she sat down, she felt her anger begin to rise once again. How dare Hogwarts use such an old and uncomfortable hat. She looked up in disgust at the old, cracked leather. Perhaps she should try to sabotage the hat later so that others would not have to endure it after her. Then the hat was placed on her head, as Dani felt her rage stir at it not being put on like a king's crowning. It was despicable of the teacher.

Since the moment he set foot on the Hogwarts express everything Zach had encountered was something new and exciting. Suddenly he found himself being thrust into a world he never thought existed and it was his new home. He had managed to find some other students who were in the same boat as him but mostly the students who were starting at the school knew about magic beforehand. Zach suddenly realised that he would be further behind than some of his classmates when it came to their classes, this made him nervous.

When the time came the first years were lead through the big heavy doors and into the Great hall. It was full to the brim with older students, sat on individual tables. Zach looked at the tables and the students sat among them and noticed different crests on each of their robes. When he sat the old hat on the stool at the far end of the hall, he wondered if that would determine which table they sat at. One by one students were called up to the hat and were placed on one of the tables. Soon it was Zach's turn. He took his place on the stool and waited as the hat was lowered on his head. He had no idea what to expect, he had no idea where he wanted to go, he just took a breath and waited.

Boston Adams stood in line with a bright smile on her face. She could barely contain all of the excitement that was inside of her. This was a dream come true! Now, she could learn how to control magic. She was going to learn how to be a proper witch. No one could bring her down from this high. Her parents were busy people, so Boston always had to entertain herself. Her caregiver was sweet enough, but Deslavina could not fill up the gap like two parents could.

"Adams, Boston"

Boston squealed with joy, and she ran up to sit on the stool. She could not keep her feet still. She wanted to be in Gryffindor, like Harry Potter had been. His stories were known by everyone. There was not a person who had not heard or Harry Potter of Lord Voldemort. Their stories had filled her head and heart with dreams. She wanted adventures that would make her nervous, fearful, or teary-eyed. She wanted to make her own story, and she wanted people she could share that story with. She was searching for happiness, true happiness, a happiness of her own. All the stuffed animals, toys, books, and items her family spoiled her with did not make her happy. She wanted something that did.

"There are plenty of stories to be had, no matter your house. I think your stories start in HUFFLEPUFF!"
