Slytherin Quidditch Practice One

Blake gritted his teeth, frustrated that he hadn't seen anything. Where had all his success from last year gone?! Maybe Leda had hexed the stupid snitch. That was probably it. It made sense she'd use her new captain powers in such a nasty, petty way. Glaring at the air in front of him, Blake continued to circle looking for the snitch, when a sudden impact tore him from his focus. He cried out in pain as the bludger hit, shooting upwards fast instinctively to get away from the ball, and glared around, trying to see who had hit him. Of course it was Sapphire, she was probably in on it too. Giving his teammate a nasty look, Blake returned to his search, his side burning now.

((Edited bc the bludger hit happened while I was typing my post sorry :p))

Jasper cheered for Sara when she managed to score. He rushed forward to grab the quaffle next, and noticed Blake was hit by a bludger. Jasper laughed at him as he zoomed past with the quaffle. He started to do a lap around the pitch with the quaffle, grinning.

Leda was secretly glad it was Blake that got hit by the bludger. Perhaps it would put him in his place and give him good practise for what a real game was like, since he didn’t have much experience with it. She pushed on, hoping her eyes were trained enough for this now.

Sapphire was about to swing again when she thought she heard her brother yell for her. She swung a bit too wide, turning to look. There wasn't any annoying Onyx around. What on earth...? She shrugged it off and went after the bludger again.

Liam saw Sapphire getting a bludger and smiled. See you had to believe and so that was what he did too. He flew along the pitch and managed to hit a bludger close really hard. He didn't liked hitting girls but he aimed for Leda though, and she got hit. She had been a pain in the ass lately so this felt kind of good. He always liked girls and tough ones too, but he was not to be messed with. And he heard from others that Leda didn't actually liked him. He had to show now he was a really good beater. He grinned for a moment as both he and Sapphire were able to hit the seekers once.

Blake was still shaking off the ache from the bludger strike when a little glimmer of gold caught his eye. More than a glimmer, really. Somehow while he was trying not to think about the pain in his side, he had drifted right over to the snitch without either of them noticing. Staring at the relatively still ball, it was all too easy to reach out and grab it. Yes! "GOT IT!" Blake called out, holding the snitch up and waving it for his captains to see. That'd show them. He'd proven once again who the best seeker on the team really was.

Leda was absolutely furious when she collided with a bludger, shooting Liam a glance over her shoulder knowing full well he’d aimed that at her on purpose. To make matters worse, Blake has caught the snitch too. She groaned, trying to shake off the pain from both situations and focus on the job at hand.

Jai arrived quite late for practice after being held up by his sisters. It had been quite hard to shake them off although after explaining to them that he had gotten into the team as an alternate and would really really like to get to practice now, they had been a little more understanding and even went with him up to the Lawn before he rushed off to the Pitch. He had gotten in time too just as instructions were being given out. The boy mounted his broom and shot up to the air and followed after Sara and Jasper.

Sapphire had just extended her arm to swing again when Blake yelled out, startling her. She cussed under her breath as her swing went wide and poop out after it again. Stupid boys.

Once he was sure both captains had noticed his success, Blake released the snitch and gave it a head start, feeling much better about this practice now. He was gonna show his whole team how much better he was than Leda. Once the snitch had had a moment to dart away, Blake lowered himself to his broom and shot after it again, searching once more for the golden ball.

Well, today was going well. The blushers were being rather jumpy. Sapph cussed as yet again the bludger jumped away moments before the bat could hit it. She stopped a money, taking a breath as recentering herself. She could do this. Feeling refreshed, she bolted off after the bludgers yet again.

Everything going on around him was distracting for Jasper. He noticed that Leda got hit by a bludger right after Blake managed to get the snitch. Jasper scowled, this wasn't good. He didn't want Blake to do better than Leda, or do well at all. He huffed in annoyance, and flew up to the hoops. He attempted to score, but missed. Ugh! It was unfair.

If Leda could catch the snitch then maybe she could redeem herself. Chasing after it once more, trying to ignore the pain in her side, she hoped the games for real would go better than this.

Sara felt lucky during this practice, thus far. She had managed to score on first possession and as the oldest member of the team she had to show a good example to the younger chasers. She sent a thumbs up to Jasper when he had the quaffle, giving him an encouraging smile when he failed to throw it in the hoops. Well, they’d all been there. She scooped up the quaffle again, noticing how Jai was behind them but not quite in reach to have a turn just yet. She sped once more towards the hoops, dodging any players and possible bludgers.

Blake didn't know how the snitch always managed to leave his sight so completely so quickly after he had released it, but he carried on in the direction he thought it had gone, keeping his eyes peeled for any sign of the flutter of golden wings.

This was getting ridiculous. Leda was a seeker with four years under her belt and still she struggled more than Blake to actually find the snitch. Everyone but her seemed to be able to catch it and it was very infuriating.

Blake decided to abandon the path he had been following and fly through the center of the pitch, ducking below and pulling above teammates as he searched the more busy area for any sign of the snitch, though none presented themselves.

Sara continued to head straight for the south hoops, risking a glance to see if anyone else was having as much luck as she was. It didn't seem that way though, and hopefully during the games it would be a lot better. She also decided to take her chances and threw the quaffle in the middle hoop, cursing when it went wide.

Sapphire sat for a bit, watching the others practice. The chasers were decent, and though both the seekers seemed to be struggling neither of them were doing too bad. She almost popped another stick of gum in her mouth but decided against it before turning back to her own work, zooming off after a bludger on the other side of the field.

Liam flew close to Blake for a moment seeing if there were no bludgers yet. They could hit someone a few times he figured, but he didn't want them to be hurt again. They needed to train strong and they needed everyone. '' Good job Blake! Try and catch it again. It will get Leda very competetive.'' The last piece he whispered with a grin. He usually didn't liked talking to boys but Blake seemed to be seeing him more than an example as Leda was. And he felt kind of good for it. And competition was good. It made people better. Than Liam flew a bit further and noticed a bludger coming at him close. He aimed at it and hit it towards Jasper who seemed close. But the bludger seemed to be living his own life and hitted Sapphire instead. But still he had hit someone again.

Sapphire had just started to gain ground with the other bludger when one smacked into her side. She squeaked in surprise, spinning out for a moment but quickly recovering. Well, ouch, that had hurt. She shot Liam a thumbs up, it had been a nice shot, before turning back to see where her bludger had gone.

Sara blinked. She hadn’t gotten the second shot in, got the first, but where were the other chasers? What happened to Jai and Jasper? She looked around her, confused, wondering if she should le them have a turn or if she should just go for it...a third time. She hesitated, and decided to wait a bit longer to see if either boy would actually hurry up and play.

Jasper was annoyed by this practice. Why did it seem like Blake was always getting the snitch? Maybe he really was talented, and Jasper hated that thought. He was trying to catch up with Sara, but before he could reach her, he was nearly hit by a bludger. He ducked down and swerved out of the way, and winced as it hit Sapphire instead. She seemed fine, though. He kept going and managed to get the quaffle after Sara's attempt. He tucked it under his arm and started to fly a lap.

Sapphire was paying too much attention to the chasers, she should get back to her own game. She shook her head and turned back to the bludgers.

After flying around with the quaffle for a while, Jasper decided to attempt scoring again. He flew up to the hoops with confidence, but the confidence shattered immediately once he managed to miss again. Frustrated, Jasper flew off angrily.
