After months of dueling practices and spell lessons, Celia wanted to do something fun for today's Student Defense Association meeting. Her first idea had been to lock all the members in the chamber and tell them to duel
Celia had owled all the members ahead of the meeting, telling them to meet her at the Great Lawn just before sunset for a game of Capture the Flag. She'd also included the rules and team assignments in her message. As she waited for people to arrive, she draped a large orange flag over a low-hanging branch on one tree and then did the same with a purple flag in another tree roughly 100 meters away. Behind some bushes off to the side, Celia hid a couple fun surprises she planned on unleashing in case the game needed more
As people started to arrive, Celia greeted them with a smile and directed them towards a bucket with glowing orange and purple wristbands. Once everyone was there, she cast a Sonorous charm. "Hey everyone. As you all know, we're playing Capture the Flag today. I've already set the flags out," she gestured to the flags hanging from the trees, "and those trees will serve as your 'base.' To win, you need to capture the other team's flag and return it to your own base. Your entire team must also be conscious to win, so if you see one of your teammates get petrified, help them."
Even though she'd included the rules in her owl, Celia figured she should go over them again, just so no one tried to maim a first year and claim ignorance. "A few reminders about the rules: You can use any spell you want unless you're aiming for another person. In that case, you're limited to first year spells. Except Stupefy. Don't use Stupefy." There weren't enough sixth and seventh years around to revive anyone who got hit with a Stunning Spell (and Celia certainly wasn't going to do it herself). "You can also cast spells on your own flag as long as it remains visible and stays in flag form. So no transfiguring it into a frog or shrinking it to the size of a postage stamp." The flags had also been cursed so that anyone who tried to cast a Summoning Charm on them would get a nasty shock (literally), but Celia decided not to mention that. She wanted to leave that as another fun surprise. "And no physical contact. This meeting is about being creative and working on your spellcasting." And providing her with some much needed entertainment. "I'll be refereeing and making sure no one breaks the rules." She paused for a moment to let all that sink in. "Now, head to your base. The game will start at my signal." After giving the group a minute to split into their teams and head over to their respective sides, Celia blew a whistle and used her wand to send some red sparks into the air.
- Out of Character:
- Welcome to this semester's SDA meeting!
Admin have requested that the game end by July 26, so short, OSW-esque posts are encouraged to keep the thread moving (though long posts are obviously also fine).
There's also an OOC topic available where you're welcome to post questions, plot, or just talk about the game. You're also free to message me questions or post IC and ask Celia!
IC (can be broken though Celia might catch you )
