SDA Event Y37 | Spell Demonstrations

Seraphina was distracted from her feuding when the older girl finally re-introduced the spell and payed attention just so she could be sure she knew what was happening. Trying not to giggle when a familiar Gryffindor got thrown across the room, she thought about doing the same thing to her favorite skyscraper. Maybe they'd be allowed to pair up with actual students instead of just the dummies. And that chance soon arose when Tilly approached her. Clearing her throat, Seraphina crossed her arms. "Puh-lease." She wasn't sure what her comeback should have been, but it would be better to show her up using magic. The Gryffindor moved to square off with Tilly and then quickly shot her spell. "Everte Statum!" she called quickly, hoping to catch her partner off guard. @Tilly Drage

Juniper reluctantly watched Sydney teach them the mediocre spell until it meant that she cast it on Lysander. Smirking, Juniper scanned to the boy then having an outburst and rolled her eyes. Boys felt the need to make everything about them. When they were told to pair up, she tried to find someone she wasn't familiar with but also that was close enough to her age. She noticed a girl nearby and walked up to her. "You wanna practice?" she asked trying to provide a warming smile.

@Kia Sorens

Kia watched as one of the leaders attacked a noisy student. She raised a brow, not really caring one way or the other as he was sent flying. He talked a lot for someone who couldn't defend himself, and she watched as another boy cursed and walked out. Well, that was dramatic. Whatever she thought of Sydney, she still realized the girl knew some spells that Kia did not. Even if she would rather be taught under Tyler, who was less show and more about winning.

She was pulled from her thoughts as another girl approached her, and she looked up, silent a moment as she considered it. "Alright," She agreed, moving to a different space and turning back to the girl, falling into a defensive stance and holding her wand at the ready.

Brooke didn't miss the look her sister gave her when she spotted her in the crowd, but Brooke was relieved when Sydney's attention was draw away by the two Gryffindor boys in the room. Brooke knew about Sydney's relationship with Eric Holland and wasn't surprised that she wasted no time putting him in his place. She was more surprised when Eric just straight up cussed her sister out before storming from the room. Brooke supposed all the stories she'd heard about Eric's temper really weren't that exaggerated.

Sydney's demonstration on Lysander certainly made a point as well, and Brooke was once again disappointed that Sydney had been too busy showing off to actually win the duel at the start of the year. Her sister was clearly a talented duelist in her own right if she'd let her ego get out of her own way.

Once they were dismissed to practice on their, Brooke quickly looked for a partner, not eager to be singled out by Sydney as well. She spotted Ivy nearby, who Brooke was sure would make a decent partner and was probably at Brooke's own skill level, but Brooke figured she should try to branch out more with the other club members. "Hey, Flynn right? Would you like to practice together?" She asked, giving Flynn North a friendly smile. He also had a reputation for having a bit of an attitude and Brooke was curious if that was also true. @Flynn North

Tilly had her wand at the ready. Despite this, she wasn’t quite quick enough with her Shield Charm. When Everte Statum hit her square in the chest, she tumbled through space, her wand clattering to the ground. Tilly involuntarily somersaulted and slid across the floor, completely disheveled. She burst out laughing.

The Hufflepuff girl picked up her wand and rose to her feet, smoothing down her robes. That was fun. She smiled wickedly at Seraphina and waved her wand. “Everte Statum!” she said confidently, hoping she could return the favor.

Juniper was glad the girl had agreed and moved to a space where they could work more easily. "I'm Juniper," she said. "I don't think we've met before." She felt it would be more appropriate to at least greet the person you were dueling and got into a stance, waiting for the other girl to be ready. @Kia Sorens

Seraphina wanted to cheer when she saw Tilly be knocked over but didn't want to appear too gleeful. Instead, she pursued her lips trying to hide a smile. She was rather confused when Tilly started laughing and crossed her arms. "What are you getting on ab-" she began before feeling a force knock her off her feet and straight into the wall behind her. She felt the back of her head throb a little bit as she slouched against the brick and then brushed herself off, getting up carefully. She thought that was rather unfair and walked a few steps closer to Tilly than she had been before as she shot the same spell out of her wand again. @Tilly Drage

He was perfectly happy with the dummy he had picked out to practice on, more than willing to hex it over ad over again. But that plan was sort of ruined from a voice next to him, turning his head to look towards his Slytherin classmate. "Not in the slightest," he was quick to respond to the offer, moving to pat the dummy he was standing next to, "I was just going to stick with the dummy. They can't fight back." Which was just how he liked it as he didn't really fancy being on the other end of someone's spell. No doubt that would be incredibly uncomfortable so he was not down for it at all. "Suggest you do the same," he did have to add, grinning as he twiddled his wand in his fingers, "Saves you from ending up on your a**."

@Brooke Townsend

Brooke frowned when Flynn insisted he'd prefer to practice with the dummy over her. "One could argue it's smarter to practice with someone that can actually defend themselves, since I doubt you'll ever need to jinx a stationary object, but suit yourself," Brooke said, trying not to look too put out and being turned down. She glanced around the room, quickly trying to spot someone else to partner with before it became too obvious that Flynn had turned her down. She paused as she watched Seraphina and Tilly Drage trying to kill each other. Somehow she felt like this was exactly what Sydney had been planning with the demonstration though, she doubted her sister was going to stop them anytime soon either. Sighing, Brooke continued looking, stepping over to yet another Gryffindor. "Hey, Ronald, do you need a partner?" She asked him hopefully. @Flynn North @Ronald Lazarao

Ronald reply to her year level Brooke, yes im willing thank you for asking, I want to prcatice my learning today other that good than dummy, Ronald wait Flynn if its okay to him, Ronald waiting what will incantation will do and what will be first to cast the spell @Brooke Townsend

Brooke was pleased that Ronald didn't take after the other Gryffindors in the room, giving him a friendly smile as she drew her wand. "Do you want to go first, I can take a hit," She assured him, glancing at her sister and hoping Sydney wasn't watching. @Ronald Lazarao

Tilly grinned broadly when Seraphina catapulted backwards. Everte Statum was a freaking cool spell. This time, when Seraphina cast the spell at her, Tilly was prepared with Protego. She smirked at Seraphina and cast the new spell again, hoping she could make the Gryffindor do more involuntary acrobatics. She ignored the other students around them, even the SDA leaders.
