⭑ SENSITIVE ⭑ MOODY ⭑ IMPATIENT ⭑ PLAYFUL ⭑ STUBBORN ⭑ KIND ⭑
SENSITIVE | MOODY |
Rion pretends to be tough and stoic, but she's a sensitive, emotional girl who often withdraws into herself. She'll overthink social interactions and is always astute to the thoughts and feelings of people around her. | Prone to mood swings, Rion has been known to sulk over one argument for days. She's used to getting her own way, and when she doesn't, she finds it difficult to tolerate the discomfort of losing control. |
IMPATIENT | PLAYFUL |
When things aren't going Rion's way, she quickly loses patience. This is mostly a defence mechanism, as she will blame herself for her shortcomings, and it's less painful to just walk away. | When she's not sulking, Rion can be very playful. Some would consider her interests and personality to be childish for her age - a fact she's aware of and often embarrassed about. |
STUBBORN | KIND |
Rion does not like taking advice. Even if the advice is helpful, she'll often reject it out of principal. She prefers to do things her way - even if her way is clearly inferior. | Though Rion can come across self-centred, she does care deeply for others, especially those more vulnerable than herself. She's likely to go out of her way to show kindness to someone who desperately needs it. |
[INTERESTS]
Cartoons, science (physics), flower pressing, cassette collecting, herbology, quidditch, charms, scrapbooking, chess
[SKILLS]
Rion is handy in the garden and knowledgeable about plants and animals.
[FAVOURITE COLOUR]
Pink.
[FAVOURITE SEASON]
Summer.
[FAVOURITE HOLIDAY]
Christmas.
[FAVOURITE MUSIC]
Pop.
[NIGHT OWL OR EARLY BIRD?]
Rion is an early bird. She gets tired early in the evening and probably couldn't stay awake past midnight if she tried.
[WORK OR PLAY?]
Play.
[GOOD OR EVIL?]
Good. There isn't an evil bone in Rion's body, and she often wishes everyone in the world could just be good to each other.
[HEAD OR HEART?]
Rion likes to think she's a logical, intelligent person, but her emotions rule her at the end of the day.
[BOOK SMART OR STREET SMART?]
Book smart.
2047 (aged 0) |
Rion was born in Abbotstone, England, the second daughter of potion ingredient grower Saveli Pendleton and farmer Reuben Lagowski. Her imminent arrival into the world was at first assumed to be an April Fool's prank, but alas, Saveli was not joking, and Rion was fated from the moment of birth for a lifetime of incredibly annoying birthdays. She was a healthy baby, loud and smiling, and she could not have been more perfect, nor more loved. |

Rion spent her childhood years on her parents' farm, often playing in the fields with her elder sister Ainmere, collecting fruit, and helping look after the smaller animals. She was especially fond of the chickens, and more than once her parents found her asleep inside their enclosure. These years were carefree and bright, full of sunshine and earth and corn. Weekends were spent at her grandfather Monty's house, where they ate roast dinner, played board games, and tinkered in his workshop. When Rion was old enough, she began attending the local primary school. Her peers tended to think she was babyish due to her obsession with unicorns, but with Ainmere's help she managed to make a few friends. Having her sister close by in the year above was a great comfort. Rion excelled in maths and science, and her teachers frequently called her 'gifted' and 'wise beyond her years.'

Not long after Rion's tenth birthday, Ainmere received her Hogwarts acceptance letter. Rion was so afraid to lose her sister that she hid the letter selfishly in her wardrobe, hoping that she would be refused entry without it. Eventually, she gave it back, but her anxiety remained. A whole year at primary school without Ainmere was bound to be awful - and she was right. Her peers, no longer worried about getting beaten up, began to tease Rion mercilessly. Her childishness and reputation for being a teacher's pet quickly turned her into everyone's favourite target. Rion withdrew into herself, becoming uncharacteristically quiet and shy. By the end of her final year, she had lost so much confidence, she almost seemed to be a different person. Luckily, she found an unlikely friendship in Ruby Maeve Louw, a bold and mouthy young girl she had met in the Phoenix Scouts.

Upon arriving at Hogwarts, Rion was sorted into Ravenclaw. Though she expressed disappointment at having been split up from Ruby Maeve, she was secretly thrilled; after all, Ravenclaw was the house of the curious and wise, and here she was bound to find likeminded people. She wasn't wrong. In no time at all she had befriended her dormmates and several Ravenclaw boys. The children here were nothing like the children at primary school, and by degrees Rion felt her confidence return. But it wasn't all smooth sailing. Being 'gifted' at maths and science meant nothing at Hogwarts, where success and failure hinged on intuition and hard work. Rion struggled through her first semester, barely scraping P's. Afraid of disappointing her parents, she even went as far as to doctor her report card. The guilt of lying to them nagged at her, and she resolved to do better after the Christmas holidays. Her persistence paid off: she got an Outstanding in Charms. Rion and Ainmere returned to England for the summer. On the last day of June, tragedy struck the Pendleton family. Reuben and Saveli were killed in a car accident, orphaning the girls at just 12 and 13 years old. Monty, their grandfather and godfather, took them immediately into his care, but he was helpless to comfort them. Rion spent the remainder of the break shut away in her room, refusing to interact with anyone but her sister, certain she would never recover from this loss. admin approval ID - 92236
