Pondering

Cecily was surprised. She'd figure with his class and how interesting it was that they would have been clamouring to be apprenticed by him. "I haven't been approached yet," she said. "They seem to like my class well enough. I suppose it's because I'm more hands on than homework based,"she shrugged. "No one seems to really have a feel for it I guess."
She would have liked to have an apprentice this year. Someone to help with the grading and to have that bond with. She'd had a wonderful apprenticeship with Professor Sprout.

"I honestly don't think any professor has an apprentice yet, the students probably don't know much about it." he started, "Though every professor having an apprentice would be absurd." He then withdrew his wand and aimed it towards the sky, giving it a few waves clouds moved to spell out his name 'Nicolas King' he smiled, he always had enjoyed fooling around with nature.

Cecily gasped and smiled as she saw the clouds form his name. She slid closer to him, still looking up at the sky. "Do mine!"she said, sounding incredibly childish but she felt so carefree around him.

Professor King raised an eyebrow, having figured she could do so herself but conceded and wrote her name none the less. Cecily Rambolt. "There you go." he stated, her name being directly beside where he had paced his own.

"Oh,"she said, her eyes widening slightly. They looked nice there beside each other. She glanced at him and blushed. "Thanks."

Professor King smiled before scattering the clouds once again. "Have you at least moved back into the castle yet?" he finally inquired, turning on his side to face Cecily.

"Not yet," she sighed, turning on her side and propping her head on her hand. "I have most of my things packed and shrunk but then one of my plants got sick and needed me." She ran her fingers through the grass absently. "I do have the house-elfs cleaning out a set of chambers for me though,"she said, excited to once again have her own place where she could feel safe. And be nearer to her friends.

"Your plants probably don't need you at night as much as you'd think, couldn't you just move it to the castle with you for now if need be anyhow?" Professor King inquired, not wanting to see Cecily risking being in harms way for a few plants, no matter how she felt about them.

Cecily's eyes roved his face, taking in the concern he was showing for her. Slowly she nodded. "I could move in by tonight,"she agreed, feeling good to have someone care about what happens to her. "It'll be nice to have a fireplace to light at night again,"she grinned. She loved when she came in from a hard day and got to lounge by the fire with a good book and hot chocolate.

"Sounds like a plan." Professor King agreed, glad that Cecily would be out of harms way for the most part. "So, what's on your mind these days?" he inquired, "Besides that whole dark presence, lost memory sha-nag that is." he added to clarify.

You. She looked down at the grass, uncertain of what to say. "Well,"she began, "I got my divorce papers by owl today. It's final..and finally over,"she grinned. The owl had brought them to her at breakfast when she was barely awake. She opened the letter and spit out her coffee then did a dance around her table.

Nicolas' heart skipped a beat, but again he did not allow anything to show. "I assume that's positive?" he started with a meek smile. He figured she may be happy about no longer having Bearse as her husband, but sad as her second marriage to him had failed.

"Positively positive,"she laughed, looking up at him. "It means he no longer has any hold over me. I am now a free woman,"she said, flourishing her arm and batting her lashes. Her hand came down to rest on the grass again. She hadn't felt so lighthearted for years. It felt like a weight had come off her.

"Thanks great then!" Professor King exclaimed with a grin. He then rolled back on his back to stare at the sky once more, "So, would you like to go out to celebrate sometime this week?" he inquired, despertly hoping she would say yes.

"Yes!"she said excitedly, then blushed at her eagerness. She followed suit, rolling onto her back and cloud watching. She felt nervous, eager, excited and peaceful all at the same time. Who knew when she'd gotten up this morning she'd be feeling like this today?
"Oh look!"she said, pointing at a cloud drifting lazily above them. "It looks like a kneazle riding a canonball across the sky."

Professor Nicolas King said:
"Thanks great then!" Professor King exclaimed with a grin. He then rolled back on his back to stare at the sky once more, "So, would you like to go out to celebrate sometime this week?" he inquired, despertly hoping she would say yes.
ooc: Hmmmm....now, now....that is a very curious thing....

Professor King's insides swelled with joy. She had agreed, though had it been an agreement as friends? He didn't know, nor did he care at the moment, she had said yes and that sufficed for the moment. The details would be worked out later, he was sure. "If that's what you see in clouds I'm afraid of what you see in tea leaves." Professor King mocked.

Cecily laughed, batting at his hand. "The grim, dear,"she said in her best Trelawney immitation. She turned her head to look at him. "What do you see in the clouds?"

"Ohh, I have no doubt." he continued, a smile on his face, "But for yourself you see nothign but rainbows and kneazles on canonballs, right?"

"Right now?" Professor King began, "Right now I see where I scratched out our names, and I see bertie-botts every flavored beans."

"I suppose you see Dementors and Grindylows,"she joked. She wrinkled her nose. "You see beans?"she giggled.

"When it looks like a package of beans I see beans!" Professor King burst out defensivly, "I'm sorry I can't see cats on canon balls, I suppose those visions are for the truly gifted."

She rolled over onto her stomach, propping up on an elbow and looking down at him. "You're not doing it right,"she declared in all seriousness. "You have to squint your eyes a bit, like this," she squinted hers funnily, "then you have to unfocus them, like this," by now she looked like she'd been having one too many firewhiskeys. It was a funny sight. She laughed, returning her eyes to normal. "Savvy?" she asked, quirking an eyebrow at him.

"Right so you squint." Professor King started as he nearly shut his eyes completely, "Then you unfocus," he opened one wide and kept the other half closed, looking in opposite directions with each. "I think I;ve imitated you perfectly, and I still see beans."

Cecily burst into laughter, her forehead landed on his shoulder. "Oh Nicolas,"she sighed, "I guess everyone can't have perfect cloud vision,"she said, looking down at him again. "You'll get it right some day,"she mock patronized, patting him.

"Oh, I do hope mine improves, it's always been my dream to be able to see cats on canon balls." Professor King mocked, looking at the sky again instead of Cecily. "I do hope this doesn't change what you think of me." he grinned.
