Felix looked around for Lanithro, but couldn't find him, so he continued on.

He was late. Taylor didn't need a watch, and she didn't need anything to tell her the time, one look at the sky, one look at Lewis and she knew. She didn't know how he was late when she'd told him she'd be there by nine in the morning, and it wasn't like he had far to travel. It was the Brightstone weekend! Surely he didn't have classes? She didn't recall there being any classes during this time at school, but then she'd never been very good at school anyway, despite being a prefect and so hadn't paid much attention to her schedule, usually more interested in what Conan was doing, which, really, hadn't changed all that much. When another hour had passed, reaching the ten o'clock mark, Taylor rolled her eyes and looked over to Lewis who was napping on her floating broom. She snapped her fingers in his face to wake him up, laughing lightly at him when he almost fell off. "Maybe you'll remember not to do that next time," she warned him, before pointing him in the direction of the path. He was flying because he'd broken his leg again, falling off of his broom. He should know better by now, but no, magic could mend broken bones in a heart beat, sure, but sometimes kids just needed to understand the gravity of their situations and Taylor had never liked fixing things with magical means when it wasn't necessary. He was in no more pain than he might have been otherwise, and he was adept enough on a broom. "Come on, your dad's late. Let's wait for him in the park."

Conan had been looking forward to Brightstone. A sentiment that he thought he'd never have again considering he'd already graduated from school a long time ago, but his wife had a habit of telling him what he could and couldn't do. And he had a habit of following what his wife tells him to do. It works. Happy wife, happy life. And so when his wife - his pregnant wife - had forbidden him to visit her at home and was expressly told that she'd see him at Brightstone, he listened. There were a few more arguments in between of course, as they were prone to, but in the end, Taylor had her way. She'd told him that she and Lewis would be there by 9 AM which was noon in New Zealand, which was just in time for lunch so he figured he'd try to check out some of the restaurants around the village. It was only a little before 11 when he arrived and had begun to walk around the village. Leaving the main street, he was passing by the park when he caught sight of his wife and his son which made him grin. And here he thought he was early! "Honey! Lewis!" he called out to them, waving as he approached.

Taylor helped Lewis up onto the stairs that lead up into the tree house and kept a close eye on him. Right about the time she would expect, she heard Conan shouting for them. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath and sighed. "Conan, you are late." she told him, shaking her head. She knew he would be, she had thought she had been pretty clear when she said she would be there at nine am, but apparently she had not communicated it to him properly, because he wasn't here when she'd arrived. She leaned up and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Sweetie, I said nine in the morning," this was not nine in the morning. Lewis waved at his dad from across the park and came racing up to wrap his arms around him jabbering in rapid Japanese that Taylor only caught the gist of. Wait, was he telling Conan she'd messed up breakfast? "Oi!"

Conan was jogging towards his wife and youngest son when he'd heard his wife call him out for being late. He looked at her somewhere between confused and offended because he didn't think he was late because it was just reaching nine in the morning in Japan. "What do you mean I'm late? You're early!" he said as he approached the two of them, laughing as Lewis came running though he worried a little when he noticed that he was running funny. "It's not even nine in the morning yet, it's like," he paused to look at the time on his watch and did a bit of math, "a quarter past eight!" He caught Lewis just as he slammed into him and nodded along to his jabbering, lifting him up. Merlin, did he grow taller while Conan wasn't around? It's only been two months. He couldn't help but laugh though at his complaints about the ruined breakfast while Conan shifted him so he could carry him with one arm, best not put weight on the leg if he was running funny. "And just what happened to our rice cooker honey?" he asked his wife as he wrapped his arm around her waist to pull her towards him and give her a kiss on the forehead. He knew he'd told her to just order out food instead of attempting to cook, but he should've known Taylor would be too stubborn to listen. "You hungry squirt?" he asked his son since apparently, breakfast at home had been a no-go. When he nodded, Conan let go of Taylor's waist to take her hand instead so they could start walking towards a restaurant. He had a hungry son to feed, and probably a hungry, pregnant wife.

She knew this would happen, she should have just given him the time in Japan because then they could have avoided this. She pinched the bridge of her nose, and sighed, she supposed it didn't really matter after all, he was here now, but they had been here for two hours already and she was hungry. Lewis still had a broken leg so he had been running about on his broken leg for two hours, he was fine, because of course he was, the kid was a force of nature, but that wasn't the point, she had a return key for an hour from now, she had been hoping to spend a couple of hours with Conan, but she wouldn't get the chance now. "My return key will pull me back in an hour, if I miss it I don't know how long I'll be here, Ru and Rica will be stopping over for the weekend this afternoon so I have to get home, as well as getting to work on the team for the semis," she told him, smiling lightly. "I meant nine am Aotearoa time, sweetie," she added, rolling her eyes at him. "The rice cooker is fine, mostly, it may have stopped working? Not entirely sure why," she added, with a frown as Lewis nodded emphatically. "We should get lunch and then head off, I want to see Jonah before I leave."

Conan nodded along as his wife talked while he led her to the nearest restaurant, Lewis in his arm. It was a shame that they would only spend probably half an hour together since he was apparently late - seriously why would he think that Taylor and Lewis would come here at six in the morning from Japan - but he would make the most of it. His son was already making the most of it since he's currently telling him all about his recent adventures at which Conan grinned and hummed and nodded and made awed noises at the proper times. "Next time I'll remember you mean Aotearoa time," he grinned at his wife and he snorts at her defense of the rice cooker. "Stopped working does not equate fine honey," he says amused squeezing her hand as they entered the restaurant. "Make sure that you and Mama throw the rice cooker yeah," he whispered to his conspiratorially which had them both grinning. They were quickly sat a table and Conan handed the menu to Lewis, helping him pick out something to eat before they give out their orders. Once that was handled, he turns back to Taylor. "You meeting with the other kids too?"

Taylor blinks at her husband, not for the first time, wondering what it was she saw in him when she agreed to date him all those years ago. She sighs deeply but shakes her head at him. Head of the Department of Muggle Excuses, everyone. "Baby, I always mean Aotearoa time, I will always mean Aotearoa time from now on, especially whilst you are in Aotearoa." She says, raising a slight eyebrow to him. Him being late has pushed her timeline back somewhat and whilst that might not matter normally, she is a little miffed about it as she had plans that are now basically useless. "And the rice cooker is fine - you'll see!" She is definitely going to replace it when she gets home, and he won't even know the difference, he didn't notice it last time. Why should this time be any different? She picks a burger and fries for her meal before handing the menu back and shakes her head. "They didn't ask, only Jonah. They've not been very good about sending me letters either, apparently I've birthed brats." She says, frowning at her husband. At least she could threaten Corey and the older kids, apparently Elijah, Hinata, Sayuri and Rose are immune to her abilities - it's the white in them she's sure. She can't reach that deep-seated Japanese part of them for that anymore. Sending them to New Zealand to study might have been a mistake.
