'Thanks Annamarie,' Steph called, noticing Hollie being hit by the tennis ball, 'Hol, you alright?'

Steph flew down towards the rest of them, the tennis balls seemed to have given up following her, Steph desperatly wanted to catch the quaffle, but she wanted to give other people a chance, so instead she watched the others, dodging tennis balls occasionaly.

Annamarie caught the quaffle that Laura passed to her. She was surprised at herself. She was actually doing well and was beginning to have fun. She flew up the pitch with quaffle under her arm, making sure not to hit by any tennis balls. She made her way to the upper NNE corner of the pitch. There was nobody else in sight to pass to so she shot the quaffle as hard she could to the hoop furtherest to her left.

Steph watched Annamarie score, Steph clapped, 'Well done!' She shouted, Steph was a little disapointed she hadnt managed to score herself, Steph was pretty sure she wouldnt get on the team now Annamarie had proved she was better at quiditch than her, she sighed, she wasnt about to quit, she had to keep trying.

Hollie nodded in reply to Steph's question. "yeh, fine thanks!" she said, massaging her shoulder. "It's ok, just a bit painful"

After Annamarie caught the quaffle that she, Hollie, had thrown to her, she watched her friend shoot and... score! Hollie cheered.
"Well done!" she yelled, hoping that the soft breeze wasn't drowning her voice out. She was still slightly annoyed; she felt that she hadn't had much of a chance to shoot yet or anything, and was almost certain that she wouldn't make the team; both Steph and Annamarie were far better than her, as well as Laura.
But... there was still hope - that saying had been drilled into her at primary school. Hollie sighed, leaned forwards, and pushed the broom back to NE, where she would hopefully get the quaffle more.
Luckily, the tennis balls left her alone... for a bit.

Kat waved at Mike and then watched as Cyndi hopped on Hilary's spare broom and took off after a few more first years. Kat had her ball back in her hand and looked for her next target. A smile curling up on the corner of her lips and saw Aiden fly past her so she flew to try and catch up with him. When she was about two feet behind him Kat took aim for his right shoulder and tossed her tennis ball right at him.

Annamarie watched Mike nearly stop the quaffle from going into the hoop. "Yes!" she squealed happily. I guess I wasn't as bad as I thought... she thought to herself. "Thanks guys!" she called out to those who had supported her. She circled around and went to the other end of the pitch. She decided that for the rest of the drill she would just chill and let the others get into the game more. She found a spot over on the far side of the pitch and hovered there for a bit.

Bruin's eyes practically burst from his head :woot: with the flurry of activity. He couldn't believe that pace of the action taking place before his eyes. He even rolled around on the grass :rofl: a little laughing as his current and future teammates took turns trying to outdo one another. It looked as though this group would come together very nicely. He wasn't sure if he should blow his whistle and call them in or let them go for a little longer before setting up the final drill. He decided to wait and let the group have a little more fun first. Bruin noticed that Isabella was sitting in the stands and he felt strangely warm for a moment :wub: . He hoped he wasn't catching a cold.


(OOC - awesome stuff everyone! There were also a lot of good questions raised, so here are a couple of things that might help.

When you try and score you post as if the goalie is going to make the save and then adjust your points if the keeper lets it through.

When you run out of points, you can keep playing I suppose, but can't do anything that would cause you to go into negative points. I guess a keeper could let a few in and earn back some points or you could get hit by a bludger to get a few points back, but as you can see they disappear quickly so that is why we practice to build them up. A person simply flying around could also block the opposing team's seeker from catching the snitch by posting before them when the snitch appears so it wouldn't be good if they left.

Hollie smiled and flew around the pitch for a bit, waiting for some more game action. She was having a wild time! She flew over to where Annamarie was (SW) and congratulated her again.
"Wow, you're really good!" she said, smiling warmly. "Don't ya think the pace of this game is fairly quick?" She laughed and hovered about for a bit.

Laura punched her fist in the air when Annamarie scored, before laughing slightly at Bruin's reaction. Rolling around the ground was bordering on overreacting, don't you think?

She flew down to the end of the pitch again, waitin for Bruin to blow the whistle.

Annamarie smiled at Hollie. "Thanks! This did pick up kind of fast. I am surprised that I was able to keep up." she said honestly. "I am glad the older kids put this together. This was fun!" she said laughing.
 
Mike who was still had the quaffle in his hand chucked it as far as he could,

Aiden caught the quaffle happily and flew quickly towards the nets and when he got a little closer he chucked it quickly into the right net, Aiden waited to see if it had gotten in or not, he hoped it did, he really wanted to make the team even if that meant being chaser and not keeper.
 
Mike who saw Aiden catch the ball, and zoomed towards the golas, threw the quaffle, Mike was caught offguard and dived to his left, and caught the quaffle, but only just. "Unlucky" Mike said, sticking his tongue out to Aiden.
 
"Darn, I thought I had that." Aiden muttered to himself and he assumed that now he wouldn't make the team because he couldn't make one goal.
 
"It doesnt matter" Mike said, overhearing Aiden." Theres always reserves and even next year.

"I mean I was on the team last year, I only got on the beginning of this year"
 
Cyndi watched the action for a moment. Poor Mike, Cyndi thought,He's not getting a break. The eager first years were taking turns attempting to score on him. Cyndi turned her eyes away from the attention to look for her ball. She saw it on the ground near Bruin. Instead of using magic to get it, Cyndi decided to just fly her broom down there. She had never been on a firebolt before and decided to take advantage of it.

Thank you Hilary, Cyndi thought as she flew through the air. The broom was a dream to fly, even though nothing could ever replace her Scarlet Streak. Cyndi reached down and scooped up the ball. "Having fun watching this, Bru?" Cyndi asked as she saw him laughing at the action.
 
Mike flew down to the fround, where everyone else was, and got off Bruins broom, "Here ya go Bru, thanks very much" Mike said handing it back to him.

Hollie flew back down to the ground for a break; the wind had made her thirsty, and luckily she'd remembered to bring one down. Taking big gulps she finally was satisfied, and then handed the broom back to Mike.
"hey, thanks" she said, smiling at him. "It's a really decent broom!" she grinned. "Are the try-outs over now?"
Hollie was puzzled.
 
"No probs" Mike said, taking the broom. "i dont think so" Mike said, "You did well up there," Mike said to Hollie.
