Annamarie became a bit distracted when Steph and a boy she hadn't met yet joined the group for try-outs. She listened to Bruin explain the next drill and felt that she had a fairly clear grasp of what they were suppose to be doing. "Well ok then..." she said quietly to herself as she mounted the broom, kicked off, and followed Laura up the pitch. Annamarie decided it would be best not to start off with a quaffle first. It was bad enough the older kids were going to be throwing tennis balls at them...the last thing she though she needed to do was bring another ball into the mix. She flew into a small circle and faced the her first-year peers. "Ready when you are you." she smiled.

"Hi, Im Mike, right you and Steph, pass the quaffle to each other, and get closer each time, when you think you're close enough, then try and score on me" Mike said.
 
Steph nodded and turned to Annamarie, 'Ready?' She said, throwing the ball to Annamarie and flying closer.

Steph caught the ball and flew to straight forward, towards the ravenclaw stands, closer to Annamarie, when she was almost 3 metres away from Annamarie, Steph threw the ball and waited for Annamarie to throw it back to her.

"Ready!" Annamarie called out to Steph who was beginning to approach. Annamarie could feel her body begin to tense up with nervousness. She watched closely as Steph drew nearer and threw the quaffle. She figured if this was a real game letting the ball just fly to her would open it up for another team to steal it, so she sped up to met it mid-arch. "Ouch!" she said the as caught the ball hard in her chest. At least I caught it... she sighed rubbing her chest. Annamarie tucked the ball safely under her arm and flew across the pitch. Once she felt she had cover sufficent distance she scanned the field for Steph. "Heads up!" she called as she threw the quaffle to her.

Aiden nodded and flew up to the others and smiled nicely to the others waiting for one of them to pass it to him. Aiden looked as another girl passed the quaffle to a girl named Stephanie, he had seen her around before she was cute but looks alone weren't enough to tempt him. But when the he noticed the girl hadn't caught it yet he intercepted her and caught the quaffle swiftly. And looked back at Steph and said, "Sorry," with a smile. Then Aiden threw it back at the other girl.

Action Taken: Flying to the SE, intercepting a pass and throwing it back.

Annamarie watched as the boy flew up and intercepted the quaffle. "Nice one!" she shouted to him. She flew up the pitch and caught the quaffle and pulled it close to her side. She continued to make her way up the pitch watching out for any tennis balls that came her way. She threw the ball back to the other two and hoped that they would continue it up toward the north goals.

(OOC-Alright everyone...sorry for the confusion, but you are getting the idea. I was anticipating that Mike would guard the North Hoops in North Scoring Area or NSA and that the first years would start in either the South-South East (SSE) or South-South West (SSW) areas and then work their way north, shooting the quaffle when the got into the NNW, NNE or NSA areas. The rules state that you can only move one space at a time (i.e., either vertical, horizontal or diagonal), so if you started in SSE the you could move to SE or SW with your first post, then proceed to NW or NE on your second, NNE or NNW on your third, etc.)

Aiden smiled at the girl and then saw that the quaffle was heading their way so he said, "Steph I'll let you get this one." Aiden flew over to the north end and noticed that their were tennis balls flying about so he looked about anxiously then flew beside the girl and said, "Hey I'm Aiden Lorka." Aiden stuck his hand out for a shake while keeping his other hand on his broom.

Bruin noticed that the first years all seemed to be airborn now and getting themselves organized for an assault on the north hoops. They would need to get used to some distractions so he pulled out his wand and pointed it at a tennis ball in front of him.

Bruin uttered Locomotor Tennis Ballus! (sorry, couldn't resist) and then with a quick flick of his wand sent it skyward in the direction of Aiden who appeared confident in his flying abilities, perhaps too confident if he was attempting to shake hands in the middle of a game. The tennis ball approached the young Gryffindor at a decent speed, but certainly giving him time to avoid it if he didn't wish a little circular bruise tomorrow to remind him of the try-outs.
 
Kat pulled out her wand and readied her tennis ball in the other hand. Aiming carefully, she threw the ball hardest she could at the back of one of the first years and waited to see if it would hit them or not.

Hilary grabbed her tennis ball and kicked off the ground on her broom hmm maybe I'll trick them a little... In the confusion of everything she flew over to the other side of the pitch and discretely dropped her tennis ball onto the grass. Making the movement of circling the pitch she quietly pulled out her wand and put it sticking only slightly out of her robe sleeve. "Locomotor ball" she said under her breath raising it into the air and moving it along the other side of the pitch as she flew.

Feel free to fly up and toss stuff at them as well. I'm just trying to get them used to flying like Chasers with things happening around them. I might have some more surprises in store for them and you are welcome to improvise, just don't kill anyone Kat. I kind of liked that one you "offed" at last year's try-out.
 
Aiden frowned as the balls flew towards him and the girl so he flew down quickly avoiding the tennis balls and he caught on and threw it back to the captian lightly. Aiden smiled at him to let him know he will have to do a little better than that.

Bruin smiled as Aiden returned the ball in his direction, but rather than catch it Bruin pointed his wand at it and cast Incendio!. The tennis ball burst into flames and Bruin then cast Locomotor Fireballus! and sent it back at the boy with a more powerful flick this time. There wasn't enough heat in the ball to do any real damage, but he doubted that the boy would attempt to catch this one.

Annamarie shook Aiden's hand smiling. "Nice to meet you I'm...DUCK!" she shouted as she watched a tennis ball fly toward him. She hoped that he had dodged his ball as she leaned out of the way of one coming toward her. Annamarie realized that staying in one spot for too long was a really bad idea. She quickly turned and moved out of the way of the flying balls. "I'm Annamarie by the way!" she called back to Aiden.

Aiden whipped out his wand and said, "Augumenti" {sp?}. Aiden smiled as water poured out of his wand drenching the tennis ball. Aiden simply smirked then said, "Finite Incantatem." Then he caught the ball and lifted up his arm to show Bruin the ball. And smiled and chucked it back at him, this was begining to become a little bit of fun.

[I am not sure if this spell is allowed to be used by first years...I will check in a sec, if not I will edit :D]

((Imma have to go back and look at that because I don't remember who I 'offed' and last years try-outs :huh: :errm: *off to look*))

The first tennis ball she threw missed so she took her wand in her right hand and uttered, "Accio Tennis Ball!" Oh bloody hell! I wasn't specific enough. she thought slightly panicked as 5 tennis balls came flying right at her. She ducked for cover and then once the balls had safely landed at her feet she tossed them back to each of her team mates, laughing at herself the whole time. Kat refocused and looked for her next target. She saw Annamarie and took aim, launching the tennis ball right at the girl.

Steph smiled at Aiden, 'Thanks,' She shouted as she grabbed the quaffle, she looked around to see tennis balls flying around the pitch, smiling she flew back to the hoops and threw the ball to Aiden, he was a little distracted by the tennis balls, 'Sorry Aiden!' She laughed.
'right, i need to do good on this one' She told herself, Steph flew towards a slightly red tennis ball, 'Immobalise!' She shouted, pointing her wand towards it, Steph smiled as the ball froze, Steph wasnt sure what to do next, she didnt know any cooling spells.

Action Taken: Immobalising tennis balls, thowing quaffle.

Annamarie watched as Aiden and Steph tried to use spells to stop the tennis balls from hitting them. Annamarie didn't know any of those spells and figured during an actual game they wouldn't be able to use their wands, so she did her best to dodge the balls the old fashion way. She gracefully swerved out the way of the tennis ball that Kat threw at her and turned to check on the other two first years. She watched as Steph threw the ball to Aiden who seemed to be in the midst of a rather intense tennis ball fight with Bruin. She flew over toward him just in case she needed to save the quaffle if he dropped it or make an easy catch if he caught it threw it to her.

Aiden noticed that Annamarie was coming closer to him so he turned and saw that the Quaffle was headed to him so he flew closer to it than caught the quaffle then passed it to Annamarie and smiled nicely at her. Aiden then became motionless waiting from Bruin's next move, this really was becoming a lot of fun.

Mike hovered near his hoops, waiting for the oncoming cubs, Mike still had his tennis ball in his hand,he thre it up in the air, " Depulso" Mike said, the ball flew towards the cubs. Mike didnt want to hurt the cubs, too much, so he didnt use Everte Statum. Mike watched as the ball was getting closer to the cub chasers.
