Confined to Seperate Sides

Adalyn smirked back at him as he talked about the castle and the cobwebs but he hadn't seen anything of the dungeon just yet. When they finally made it to a ground level she moved forward down a dimly corridor to another set of stairs, though it was true their storage and callibrating area was higher up in the dungeon then the actual place they put on shows for the students, Adalyn and Alois would have to go down another flight of stairs to make it to their destination. Once they did she smiled and glanced back noticing the cobwebs in his hair. He was having some difficult with them, which was funny. But considering she was practically the same height as him he just needed to duck and swerve out of their way more instead of just barely moving his head, or at least thats what she thought he was just doing.

Turning corners to corners, having to climb and go down a number of stairs, Alois knew that if he did enter the dungeon alone, he'd get lost. There's just too much turns to make and well, the corridors did look almost the same, the torches, the cobwebs, the whole dungeon was filled with it. Not wanting to have to spend hours just trying to get out of the seemingly maze like dungeon, Alois walked closer to Adlyn, determined to get lose sight out her, she knew the dungeon a thousand times better than he do, and it would just be logical for him to not want her to leave him alone, for even after staying for almost five whole years in the castle, there were still certain things that would surprise him. Having noticed Adalyn's smile, Alois brought up his hand to his hair, frowning as he did felt some cobwebs entangled in it, he must have had a hard time avoiding them then, considering how Adalyn had managed to be free of it. "Do you not get lost here?" He inquired, not really looking at the girl for he was too busy removing those annoying cobwebs that had seemed to enjoy resting themselves entangle in his hair.

Adalyn knew they were just feet from their destination but she wanted to see if she could freak out Alois and his questin prompted her to try. Stopping she turned around basically forcing him to stop as well. He didn't know where they were afterall. "Only when I stop and the lights go out and my head is fuzzy from the kisses I recieve from the suitor I'm with," she said moving closer and closer to him but ever so slowly till they were just barely not touching. That was when the nearest flame went out, she knew of course there was nothing to bring back the light to it, it was a strange charm a student put on them along time ago, to give himself and the girl he was with at the time privacy in the darkness. It seemed weird but it did work and of course it was always nice to be able to be in complete darkness everyonce in a while. Reaching out she could feel the fabric of his clothing on his arm, his hand just below hers. She moved her hand down and intertwinded her fingers with his. Adalyn didn't feel alone anymore, it was almost as if just having Alois as a friend, who actually cared was enough to complete her and make her feel human again instead of just a wandering soul-less body.

Alois had to step back a little when he saw Adalyn blocking his way, being rather too focused with the surroundings, he didn't quite get why she had done that, well, not until she moved closer to him which had resulted to him being rather frozen in his place, feeling her so close had seemed to make him feel a little uncomfortable, he din't know why though, probably because he wasn't so used with such close proximity with someone of an opposite gender. "Suitors?" He said, his voice barely a whisper now, feel her warm breath as she talked and her scent would almost fill the air as well, that had made him blushed a little barely noticeable thanks to the dimly lit corridor where they were in. Just as he was about to step away from her, the flame nearest to them went out, resulting to an over all darkness which he is not that comfortable with as well. He was about to reach out for Adalyn to make sure that she was still there, thankfully though, it was her that found him first, her fingers intertwined with his, now usually, he would have let go, but at the situation where they were in, he had just have to hold her close to him, fearing that at any second that he let go, she'll leave, not that he was afraid of the dark, he's just afraid of being alone by then.

Adalyn smirked at his whispher, she had left many guys down here in the darkness and waited for them back at the door. The time of fumbling around trying to find the right way out let them know she wasn't into what they wanted. She was just 14 and her kiss with Alois was only her third kiss from a male outside of her family members. Adalyn couldn't see what his reaction was to being close in the dark but holding his hand it didn't seem he wanted her to let go anytime soon. "Of course. Bring them here, let the lights go out leave to find their own way out. Then they lose interest but they don't want to tell anyone what happened so everyone just thinks their own things when the guy and I leave," she whisphered back to him. Thats what suitors were, weren't they? Just men who are interested and if not picked they lose interest and find someone else. Lightly tugging on his hand she began to move towards their destination but she wasn't really interested in writing anymore.

Alois was getting used to Adalyn's actions and responses already, he's not acting like he was before, he's not trying to get away from her the, he had learned how to accept her it seemed, slowly as it is though. "Don't you want to clear those misunderstandings that those people were creating then?" He asked, voice full of curiosity, people had wild imaginations, that one, he knew, so probably, when Adalyn and whoever the guy was had left together after getting on such a dark dungeon as it is, he knew that others can make up false stories that might sound true when you heard it. "Aren't you interested in any of them anyway?" He added, shrugging to himself, he can't quite get why Adalyn would stall telling someone she didn't like him if she's not interested in him, he had always thought that Adalyn was blunt enough not to care about what the other guy would do once she rejected him. When it comes to his case though, he's quite the opposite of Adalyn, he would shut a girl down, as gently as he could and with minimal pain as well.

Adalyn listened to what he was saying and asking her, he didn't know her at all. She obviously didn't care what people said about her. "Why bother trying to deny things, people'll just make it seem like even more happened. Honestly I've only ever kissed three other boys before you," she told him looking down though they couldn't see each other anyways. Adalyn felt like letting go of his hand then, she didn't want to him notice her emotions. She backed away from him, he had to be one of the guys that would hold onto one girl for as long as they could before having to let go, or die first. "I would be interesting, till they push things to far," she answered his question. His question seemed harsh to her, she didn't understand why he asked it the way he did. "It'll be right about here, they'll go to kiss me, push me up against the wall and then I just let go. I run," she said leaning against the wall that she had been pushed up against a few times in the past. The guy would always be left behind not long after. She's never kissed anyone down here in the dark, it was too intimate and close for her to do such a thing.

Alois listened intently as Adalyn told him her story, well not necessarily her whole story, but all that she had said was good enough for him to have at least a glimpse of what she really is, obviously, she doesn't care about what the others would think. That would be admirable yet unnerving at the same time. He was amazed by how she could hold up her feelings, how she could give no care to what was being said about her, yet he knew that somehow, though she wouldn't really say it out loud, somehow, she's got to be hurt as well. "You're the second person who had ever done that to me.. honestly." He replied back to her, remembering his previous encounter with her before, he didn't felt quite as embarrassed and as nervous as he was earlier, and he wasn't sure why. When she backed away from him, Alois had had to stop, the area was still too dark for him to see where he was, so all he could do was to depend on his sense of hearing, trying to pinpoint where she had gone of to. "That's. . . I know that I'm not in the position to say this, but what they were doing was rather annoying. ." He muttered, not really liking what it was that he had heard, he can't quite get hwy others would get hooked up with anyone that they didn;t even know that well, it's something of the human nature that he cannot quite comprehend.

Adalyn sighed her head falling back hitting the wall. She was glad another girl had kissed him first, she didn't hold the weight of stealing his first kiss away from him. It felt like he froze up when she moved away so she tightened her grip on his hand so he didn't have to fear being left alone in the darkness. She moved her free arm tracing above his arm to his shoulder and then moved across to his other shoulder. Other then that movement she didn't move herself. The darkness was pulling her in and she was opening herself up to a boy she barely even knew and it felt right and wrong at the same time. Actually having a friend, it was different. "To be honest, what I did was was more annoying. I trusted them to much," she said to him.

Alois had relaxed a bit when he felt Adalyn's hand in his shoulder, at least, he was rest assured that she wouldn't leave. It might look like he was being afraid of the stillness and of the darkness around them, but that was definitely not the case, it was the fear of being left alone that bothers him, he didn't want Adalyn to go yet away from him now, no matter how selfish it might sound, that's just what he was thinking. "It's not wrong to trust someone, it's just that, it's difficult to pick the right person to trust." He said in response to her statement. He didn't see any wrong to what it was that she had done, for her to trust someone out, it was probably that person's fault for using that trust to get some advantage on her.

Adalyn at his reply to her statement. She knew he only spoke from the heart but he had the same problem it seemed. "She doesn't love you, you know," she told him, it was stupid for her to say it and she knew that but she knew she had to let him down cause it seemed the girl hadn't done it gently either. "But it's okay. You know, cause she's most... certainly not the only girl out there... you'll ever be interested in," she added on hoping she wasn't going to make it worse. Standing in the darkness with Alois seemed to make it easier to speak, she didn't know if it was because she couldn't see him or if it was the assurence that he couldn't see her if she made a mistake.

Alois froze once again when Adalyn brought the topic about Adrie again, he didn't know whether she had noticed him froze but he hoped that she didn't. He didn't want her to think that he was pushing her away again. "I know that Adalyn. . and I had accepted that fact already." He said, his voice barely a whisper as he did so. He had already accepted that Adrie views him as a friend when she herself had told him that she's going to ask Jack out, and actually, now that he thought about it, he wondered what could have happened if he had stopped her. "I'm not closing my doors to the possibilities.... I'll wait for that someone to come then.." He added, his tone a lot lighter than the other one, he didn't know whether Adalyn was just comforting him for saying such thing, but hopefully, she is. "Thank you anyways."

Adalyn let her hand slide down his arm before falling to her side at his tone. The topic of the girl was hard for Alois and she knew but she couldn't help but bring it up, he afterall was telling her something that he needed to know himself. He just needed to find the right person to trust and as much as Adalyn could wish it was her, it was apparent it wasn't going to be. The kiss now was almost like a mistake, one she'd happily do over if it offered a better outcome. Now she didn't know what to tell him instead she let go of his hand and for the briefest second there wasn't any contact between them till she hugged him. Adalyn knew he would believe that the hug was just for him but she needed the comforting just as much as he did.

Alois didn't know what to think about the awkward silence that had passed between him and Adalyn after his small speech. He wasn't sure whether he had said something that might have offended her, or if he had somehow caused her to be angry at him once more. Hopefully, that wasn't the case. Just as he was about to open his mouth to say something else, Alois was taken back when he felt Adalyn's arms around him. He stood frozen in place, after all, that hug was pretty much unexpected. He wasn't sure what had triggered such action from her, but even so, he felt that it was quite bolstering, as if reassuring him that she won't leave him, but he wondered if that was really the case by then, raising his hand up, he returned the hug. If others would have seen them in such position in the dark by then, others might think that they're up into something, but he could care no less now. He's complacent about what she had done, no words need to be passed by then, just her action is enough to reassure him that maybe, he doesn't really have to be alone. "I might have to say this again Adalyn, but really, I'm grateful having you here." He said softly as he pulled away from her. Maybe it would be really faster to move on if he stop thinking about Adrie, but that would be really difficult as well, but probably, hanging around Adalyn would take his mind of those wishful thinkings about what could have been and what might have been.

Adalyn nodded her head to his response, of course she relalized that they were in the dark and he wouldn't be able to see her. "Right. No problem I guess," she told him pulling back as well. She was suprised that he didn't question her but maybe she finally took all the questions out of him. He couldn't figure her out just as much as she couldn't figure him out, though she was able to read him like an open book. Adalyn was comforted by his hug even though he didn't know it, which made it feel like it was her little secret. Of course he was still going to be hung up on the girl and there wasn't anything she could really do for him anymore. "Alright, come on," she said moving towards the opening to the storage room they used. She had to use one hand move along the wall and her other was holding onto Alois so he didn't get lost in the darkness of the dungeon. Once inside the room she was able to use muggle matches and light up one of the torches along the wall. It was odd being in the dungeon, where once you were in the rooms magic didn't work anymore, as if it was blocked by an outside force. Adalyn knew it was from when this castle they called school used to be a real castle and prisoners were kept in here but it still was a strange sensation no matter how many times she has been down there to write.

Alois smiled at Adalyn's response although he was quite sure that she wouldn't see it anyway. He felt that smiling at such situation was necessary, to show his gratitude and appreciation of her presence. Cause probably, if he was all by himself, then all he would do was think, think about everything that had happened so far, and all that were still to happen. He's grateful to have someone to talk with, for at least, even just for a moment, he can be back to his normal and usual self, one who needs not to worry about the day ahead of him, hopefully, it would stay this way. "I think I'm going to get use to it.." He said, laughing a bit. He might sound cheesy and all, but it was true, he might have to get use to such comforting gestures from her, which might be bad for him then.

He allowed Adalyn to led him, seeing that if he did release himself from her hold, then sooner or later, he'll get lost, and surely, he doesn't know how to get out of the said place. Entering the room where they were supposed to go, Alois cannot help but to laugh once more, albeit awkwardly this time around, "creepy isn't it?" He muttered, smirking to himself as he used hi free hand to fix his hair once more, again, a habit that he had when he's unsure of what to do.

Adalyn wasn't quite sure what he was getting used too but then again she was getting used to having a guy as just a friend and have him be outside of the band. And to have him so close to her own age it was different for her which is what most likely through her off which was why she kissed him. They were in the room now, and there was light but she realized she was still holding his hand, but then again he hadn't let go either. As he went to fix his hair she used her own hand to brush her long bangs to the side of her face. "Get used to what Alois?" She asked him wondering what exactly he meant, but she was also wondering where they stood from him, because she wasn't so sure herself where she wanted him in her life. Adalyn didn't pay attention to his other comment as she had told him it was freaky down in the dungeon rooms.

Alois seemed to have a knack to make confusing comments it seemed, that he had proved when Adalyn asked what it was that he meant. He seemed to have that problem for as long as he could remember, his words, his actions, sometimes, it was all misunderstood, and of course, it is quite hard to straighten those misunderstandings out, that happens to him most of the time. "Well... getting used to having you around?" He replied, his voice taking the questioning form, wondering whether he had made himself clear this time around, hopefully though, he did. He did noticed that their hand were still intertwined, yet, he made no move to pull back, he might offend her once more if he did so after all, and of course, he didn't want to have her push him out of her life once again.

Adalyn shook her head at his response, he was too unsure of himself for her to take the answer seriously but she didn't want to bother him to long with one thing. "Well you should say so the first time around so I don't have to keep asking you," she said back to him but it was in a nice tone, Adalyn wasn't there to offend him, not any more. Which cause her a problem because she was still interested in the topic of the girl but it was obvious he wasn't. Though Adalyn just wanted to know more about the girl who had stolen Alois's heart and now he would wait for another girl to come along. It was clear that Adalyn wasn't the girl and she was curious why but she could never ask, not a veela even if he may just be part-veela, they always have a tendency to go for people as beautiful as them, be it outside or inside and she was neither, in her own opinion. Slipping her hand out of his, she turned away and moved over to one of the amps in the corner and reached behind to pull out her notebook where she wrote her songs.

"Right, sorry about that." Alois said, laughing softly as he pulled a chair for him to sit on. Sitting on it, he watched with interest as Adalyn started to pull out a notebook, apparently, she'll start writing now, he just hoped that he wasn't being such a bother to her. Cupping his chin on his hands, Alois tried to get his mind off those things that would just worry him, honestly,he wanted Adalyn to talk, anything at all, just so the silence between them would be filled. "I wonder what she's doing now.." He muttered not really intending to sayhis thoughts out loud, his mind drifting of to Adrie as he had not seen her the whole day, she was probably hanging out with Jack though, and try as he might, he can't help himself but to be bothered about it.

Adalyn folding her legs underneath her indian style as she sat ontop of a medium size amp and opened her notebook up to the last page she written on. There were already a few notes on it from her writing partner and she sighed reading them knowing he was write but she was still biased over her own writing. She looked up as Alois began to think outloud. Adalyn knew that he meant the girl and shook her head at him though he was in lala land and most likely didn't see it. "You're a stupid love-sick puppy," she said in Italian, writing a few lyrics down in the margins for approvel. Tossing the book down on the ground she looked over at him. "Stop it. There isn't any point in daydreaming about her," she told him.

Alois was a bit surprised when he heard Adalyn spoke, of course, he didn't understand a word that she said, but he had the feeling that it was something about Adrie once again. He just knew it from the tone of her voice by then. Standing up as she tossed her book down, Alois cannot help but to sigh. He had not really realized that he had indeed said his thoughts out loud before, and honestly, he wished that he hadn't. "I didn't realized it." He muttered, bending down to fetch the book that she had just tossed. He knew that she was right, he's just going to fall deeper if he kept on thinking about her, and that would be really bad for him, for the more that he think and fall for Adrie, the more pain that he will feel, that he was quite sure of. "Honestly Adalyn I can't help it, I don't know what's wrong with me actually." He added, plopping himself in the ground without even caring if he would get really dirty or something, the chair was too far away from his reach, and he made no effort to pull another one.

Adalyn watched as he picked up the notebook she had tossed to the ground in frustration with him. She didn't know what he was going to do with it, knowing he wouldn't understand most of the things written down inside of it. He seemed caught up in a web the girl spun and Adalyn wasn't sure how to get him out of it. She never dealt with people and their problems before but she never had any of her own to deal with either. Picking herself up off the amp she went over where he was on the floor and bent down putting her hands on his shoulders, hoping he'd be able to focus on her instead of thinking about the other girl. "You know what she's probably doing? Not thinking about you. Her mind is focused on that other guy now even if you two are friends, you aren't as important. But look here, I'm sitting here thinking about you it's all I can think about. I'm pretty sure the next song in that journal will be about you too, but that's because of you and that dumb girl," she told him her excuse lame but partly true. She had more to say but she didn't want to say it, for the awkwardness between them would surely come after that wasn't something she wanted if they were going to be friends. Adalyn closed her eyes to take a breath and she could still feel where his hand had landed on her head before, the place just below there where his lips had kissed her forehead, and where his hand landed on her shoulder when she moved out of his range. Then she knew she couldn't really be giving him any advice now, she needed her music tonight and she was glad the band was going to be rehearsing for a performance later in the week.

Alois absentmindedly scanned the pages of Adalyn's notebook, not really reading it as he won't be able to understand a word anyway, just shuffling through it, looking at the handwritings without any real intention to try to understand what it meant. It was just something that he could do to pass time, to stop himself from thinking again. He didn't even bothered to look up when Adalyn placed her hands on his shoulder, he knew what it was that she was going to say, and though try as he might to deny it, he knew that it was true. It would only be cowardice to run away from what it was that she was saying, for he knew that she didn't really mean to offend him or anything, she just wanted to make him see what the reality is, no matter if her means was not something that is that comforting. "I know.. and it hurts.." He said, the last line was barely a whisper, he wasn't even sure if she had heard him, he was being weak now, and he hated it actually. Just as he realized what was her next statement, Alois abruptly looked up, just so he was looking straight into her eyes. "Thinking about me? What do you mean?" He asked, quite confused about that statement. He wanted to know what she meant, yet he wasn't sure with himself if he really did want to hear it or not.

Adalyn felt bad for him but he needed to accept defeat, he hadn't gotten to the girl in time and now there wasn't any point in wasting time thinking about it. Sitting down next to him she looked over at what song he had landed to in the book and realized it was the same one that she sung for him before. He didn't know that and he never would but it was still a funny acciedent that she couldn't laugh at. "It's suppose too, or else you're dead to the world, like me," she said answering his first statement to her. Adalyn honestly felt bad that he got himself into this mess without meaning too. But now she was having the same issue she didn't know what to do any more. "You..." she said with a pause as she looked away from his stare only to find nothing else interesting and having to look back. This was one time she was sorry she never learned to be a good lyer. "You. And your baggage?...My kiss...and your's....Alois. Do I really have to answer you?" She finally asked unable to come up with a decent answer to his question. Her mind just blurted out some of her past thoughts to him but he would have to piece them together for a real answer.
