What Alois was saying to her made no sense in her head, but now her brain wasn't picking up on the english it was all mumbo-jumbo in her head the words floating around, being reconized but not understood in context. Adalyn always had a difficult time picking up the language, but it was nessecary for her to learn it fully. Other people never seemed to have an issue with it, but for some reason it wasn't her thing. She could remember short fun phrases, but when it involved her actual though process to go through the motions of translating what a person said back to Italian so she could understand, form a response and then translate it back to English things got messed up and she couldn't ever remember what she really had wanted to say. Now she just stayed leaning over him listening to Alois's voice.
When he didn't reply back to her half statement she was suprised, it was another one of those odd moments where she had actually suprised him enough that he couldn't say anything. Now he might understand how she felt whenever she couldn't reply back to something he said, forming the right thing was hard, especially when you were speaking in a language that was not your own. Adalyn didn't move, except her hand on his jaw which was slowly moving back to where it had started; where her tear had fallen, but she didn't realize it as she was staring down into Alois's eyes. She waited for the answer to her question now as he had nothing to say on her previous statement. Though now she was actually suprising herself in actually caring what he had to say, she was already planning on making a bigger effort in understanding what he said next.
Love, a great mystery. Listening to what he claimed love to be she realized it fit how he felt for the girl. He did love her, most likely more then he thought he had as well. Though his tone gave away he wasn't certain on the answer, she was doing her best at understanding what he was saying now. "L'amore si trova nel tuo cuore non per resarci, ma per essere condiviso, Love is in your heart, not to stay, but to be shared," Adalyn told him in response remembering the saying her parents would always tell them as they grew up. "But, L'amore e una bellissima rosa rossa donata senza una ragione apparente, Love is a beautiful red rose, given for no reason. You love her. I bet even now you still do, and you won't stop, not for a long time. I know," she said pulling her hand back from his face. Adalyn pulled herself back still hovering above him but now using her hands to lean on instead of her elbows, which resulted in her taking her hand back from him. She knew she was pulling away from him, but there wasn't any reason for her to be with him. Her mind's eye was flashing pictures of Osmond, her twin, to her. She loved him more then anything on the earth, but then again he wasn't on the earth anymore so it was easy to say such things. He was the reason why she was disconnected from the world now, he died, and taken half of her with him. Now she realized how much Alois and Osmond looked alike. It must have been that which made her pull away from him yet still hold on to him. Now she felt even more stupid than she had in a long time. Infatuation, it was a strange word for a dumb feeling, Adalyn knew that she felt it now. He wasn't making her feel the happiest she had ever been, nor did she feel alone when he was there. Alois was a rock, a support, not someone to carry you away into romance. Maybe it was because he didn't want to be that person, as she had given him multiple opportunities to make a move, to kiss her/hold her, to do whatever he deemed oppropriate yet he was the statue then. Maybe she misread the signs, holding hands was a display of affection though friends could get away with that.
Adalyn shook her head slightly clearing her thoughts, she didn't need to have Alois question her on something she couldn't tell anyone. It could possibly endanger her and her family, she was quite sure why only her parents had pleaded with them not to say anything to anyone about Osmond. As far as the world knew, he never exsisted. He hadn't been a wizard, just a squib. The wizardery world didn't care about him and he had been the one child so far to dissapoint their family, but it hadn't really been his fault for not recieving magical powers. Looking at Alois she was angry at how one person could be special enough to get the gene while a few others never would be able to experience magical powers, unless it was ones that were used to toture and then kill. "Could you have loved me?" She asked him wanting to know the truth she didn't want him to be confused anymore, he needed to clear his thoughts and actually think. Confusion was to only be there for a little period, while the person sorted out thoughts. Alois seems to have been confused for a few days, which didn't seem like it was a good thing for him now. Adalyn wanted to know his emotions for her, yet he wasn't sure himself.
