Confined to Seperate Sides

Alois had had smiled when Adalyn pulled back from the hug, he didn't particularly mind it for he was too preoccupied with the thought that there was possibly a chance for him to be a character in her own story. Running a hand through his hair as he tried to stop himself from laughing, he pulled back a chair, sitting astride in it,his the legs incline outwards. He had been wondering if this fun that he was having was only short-lived, hopefully, it's not. He wouldn't want to lose a friend, especially a newly found one. Yes, his and Adalyn's personality might be different, and their relationship might be weird, but at least, there's still some sort of connection, right? "Would you accept me now then?" He asked, looking straight at her eyes, smiling as he did so. Whatever her answer would be, he'd accept it, for though she'll reject his statement, he had already had this hope that he'll somehow find a way for him to be able to decipher this puzzle in front of him.

Adalyn looked at him her eyes following him as he moved a chair over. She felt odd being left on the window sill alone but she knew she couldn't just go and sit on the chair with him, that would be awkward. She watched as his mouth moved and smiled processing what he meant by his question. He was already accepted as a person, but he wanted to be more, just not, more more. Adalyn still felt the rejection of her kiss from him and looked away from him. "Sure. You can be someone in my life, what I don't know," she told him jumping from the window only to lean on it, her bottom was starting to get numb.

Alois nodded his head in contentment when he heard Adalyn's answer, that's good enough for him. Whatever his position is in her life, it's fine, at least, he's a part of it right? Be it that he's just a normal acquaintance, or something more. "That's fine with me Adalyn, whatever it is, I'm happy", he said, smiling at her now, surely, their day had started to be not so good, her having to discover his weakness, her to close her doors and windows on her, and her opening it up again. Nevertheless, it was a memorable one, and he's sure to not forget that.

Adalyn managed a smile at him before leaning back and over the open window. She didn't know why she did but the sky was pretty enough to look at. Standing inside the classroom with her head hanging out the window as if she was going for a backflip out the window she must have been a preety amusing sight but she didn't care. Or at least she didn't let people know she cared about their thoughts. She couldn't answer back to Alois just yet, he was part-veela and it was effecting her, and there was something she just couldn't control around him, even though she had been around plenty of the older veela men at school. Maybe it was the fact she dated most of them already there wasn't anything interesting about guys more then a year older then her. "Yeah..." she answered back to him watching the clouds float by like she had when she was little and climbed onto the roof.

A smile escaped Alois' lips once more when he saw Adalyn smile, that's just him, he would feel happy and contented just seeing someone smile especially if that person was smiling because of him. Since he was little, he had had that tendency, he would always want to make his mother smile, and it's been a life long mission of his, making everyone around him happy, and try as he might to at least, not make anyone cry because of him, but nevertheless, he knew that he can't help it, for though he try, there would still be times when he would unintentionally hurt someone's feelings, and the impact of that was greater to him than the said person, he hated when someone becomes overly emotion because of him then.

Standing up and approaching Adalyn just so he was standing by her side, he leaned on the window as well, his hands supporting his weight as he looked up at the open sky before them, "Beautiful, isn't it?" He commented, watching the clear blue sky and the clouds that were floating by without any care. Stopping and watching the clouds is probably something that most people neglects, but not him, he had always loved them, finding peace and comfort whenever he would look up to see one every time he was alone.

Adalyn had to lean up from her position to look at him. A smile was on his face which made her look away. It was in love with another girl who didn't love him, but she still had to face that fact. "What....what were you thinking...when you know...I kissed you?" She asked her line of vision still not including him, Adalyn had no wish to see the emotions running across his face when he processed the question or let him see her own, which though her brain was unsure what they exactly were, her heart always spoke of differently. Adalyn's eyes glanced everywhere but back up to him in that moment she waited for his answer.

Alois was taken back with Adalyn's question. He didn't expect her to brought that topic back after all, he had thought that she didn't want to remember what had happened then. Normally, he would not answer such question, but since it's her, he knew that he should be honest, she'll see through his lies, he's sure of that. "What am I thinking?" He started, before pausing to think of what it was that he was going to say. "Honestly Adalyn... I'm not sure, it's just that, it happened so quickly and I'm surprised." He then added, after a long pause, he can't quite express his thoughts but hopefully, that's enough answer for her, "What were you thinking then?" He then asked, returning the question back at her, this time, without any pressure on her to answer him.

Adalyn listened to him answer her question, she was suprised it must have been the only time since he started talking to her that he hadn't had any emotions running through him or able to think. Leaning up she used her elbows to prop herself up to look at him. Her head shook at his question, she had only been worried about what he was going to do after the kiss ended. There had been hope but it disappeared. "I..don't remember," she said answering him, it had happened rather quickly, it was an impulse decision her body made for her. She let her head fall back her eye closing taking in the sun's warmth on her face. Looking back up at him she bit her upper lip having another question but unsure if she should ask it. Adalyn was very blunt anyways so she decided to ask it as well. "What if I were to do it again? What would happen?" She asked, she silently hoped his answer wouldn't hurt her, and she knew he would try to avoid causing her pain but there would only be one way to avoid pain and that would be to actually kiss. She didn't care eitherway, atleast her mind didn't. Adalyn was suddenly finding herself hate that veela's mated with humans, it cause to much trouble for girls.

Alois had decided not to push his question further, he just knew that when she said that she can't remember, it means she can't. And besides, he's not sure if he wanted to hear her answer, he's confused about it, and that would just surely ruin the mood between them. Just as he was about to divert the topic, he heard her ask about it once more. This question came up as more of a surprise for him, after all, for all he knew, she would just stop talking about it, yet, here she was, asking what would happen if she were to do it again.

Just looking at her, he knew then the she was serious, that she was really waiting for an answer, yet, his mind was in turmoil, he can't quite get what it is that he should say then. Running a hand through his hair, like what he would always do when he's a bit nervous, he closed his eyes, trying to sort everything out and trying to calm himself down."What would happen? I don't know, we surely don't know what would happen in the future, do we?We won't know what will happen until it came.." He answered, opening his eyes now, he wondered what she'll do, if she'll turn away like she always did or if she'll ask more question, "Why?"

Adalyn couldn't but look at him as he answered her question. He hadn't gotten the point of her question at all, she didn't phrase it right. She sighed as he asked why, did she want to explain what she was going through? Reaching up she pushed his hair back from his face considering he had messed up his hair when he ran his hand through it, but her hand moved slower with more intent. She wanted to see into his eyes and not have them blocked by hair.

Her hand stayed on the top of his head, not pulling him in or pushing him away but just holding his hair back. "I meant more of what would you do if I did kiss you again," she told him. He was nervous and she could sense it but she didn't want to back down and let his nerves have their way. Adalyn leaned in closer to him keeping her eyes on his, a smile was on her face but she didn't kiss him. Just moved closer wanting to hear if he knew what he would do.

Alois froze when he felt Adalyn's hand on top of his head, pushing his hair back to prevent it from blocking his eyes, it's not that he didn't like what she had done, it's just that, he's not used to such gesture, especially on the situation where they were in. Looking at her, his eyes locked unto hers, he brought his hand up, holding hers and removing it from the top of his head, however, instead of letting go of her hand, he didn't.

"Honestly speaking, I don't know Adalyn. ." He said softly, unsure of what her reaction would be. But it's true though, for honestly, just a few months ago, he had been caught off guard as well, he had been kissed without him intending to do so, and just like what had happened with Adalyn, he wasn't able to react at all. It's just that, he's probably not used with such intimate gestures, never had he kissed a girl on the lips before after all. He respected them, and therefore, he would only do such thing if she allowed him to and if she's not forced to do so.

Adalyn felt instead of watched, as she was looking at his eyes not hand, as his hand moved her's off his head. Alois was different, most guys knew exactly what they wanted and when they wanted but Alois didn't know anything that he wanted. She had been in many different situations involving kissing a guy, but never before did she have to be the instigator in such things. Adalyn wasn't sure what to do, Alois wasn't pushing her away, but he wasn't pulling her in either.

"Well...I want to..but you don't seem...to," she said her voice leading off to nowhere. She glanced away ashamed she was being fouled by the veela in him. It was plain enough to see that he had the blood. Sighing she tilted her head back out the window staring off into the sky. She was starting to hate the prettiness of the sky, the bright blue and fluffy white it was too happy for her.

"What would you do if I did do it then?" Alois asked out of curiosity, he didn't quite understand what it was that was going on in Adalyn's mind, up until this moment, when he had thought that he'll finally be able to understand her, more and more question would come, sighing, he knew that all he could ever do was to ask then, that way, he'll get the answers that he want.

But even so, he doubt that Adalyn would gave him a straight answer to his question, she never did seem to. And now, he's quite confused, he just can't understand what he was to her life, or what did she want. First, she had offered herself for him to use to move on, then she kissed him, and now she's asking what he'll do if she did the same thing again. She's the most mysterious person he had ever met. She's the one thing in life that he can't figure out, but he figured that he would have so much fun trying.

Adalyn laughed at his question, she thought it would have been obvious. If she wanted to kiis him and he kissed her she'd kiss right back and not waste time. But instead of really saying anything she just shrugged her shoulders. It was up to him to see what she would do, things could change in a instant anyways. She may something now but a minute later she could change her action. "Mamma Mia," she said to the air. It meant my goodness, but most people in other countries used it as well, one of those saying that sounded cooler in another lanuage.

Her head was still hanging back out the window, could she face him now? He wasn't going to kiss her, at least she didn't believe he would try. So why look up to his eyes and face rejection. Her eyes closed as the wind blew her hair, it reminded her of how her mother would brush her hair when she was younger. She'd always say 'one of life's pleasures is to have ones hair brushed' Adalyn always enjoyed having someone brush her hair, it was one of those childhood quirks she'd never let go of.

Alois had had to smile when he heard Adalyn's laugh, it was the first time as much as he could remember that he saw her did just that, and honestly, it's quite a relief, at least, the seemingly awkward tension between them just earlier had seemed to lessen. Nevertheless, there was something about that laugh that is disconcerting, it's like, it wasn't a laugh that fully indicates happiness, there's just something about it that he can't quite put a finger on. The words that she had just uttered, although it was of another language, he did understand, but even so, the context of those words are still unclear for him then.

Watching as she closed her eyes, refusing to look at him, Alois had had this feeling that though she didn't say it, he had somehow hurt her, or more so, though he didn't mean it fully, maybe it comes across that he had just rejected her once again, and of course, he didn't want her to get that wrong impression then. He's trying to let her in his life, he wanted to make her believe that he's not running away again, and he wanted to believe that he did didn't deserve to be alone. Bringing his hands up to either side of her face, he closed the gap between them, but instead of kissing her in the lips like she did before, he had kissed her on the top of her head, meaning that he did care for her. It must not be what she had expected, but, that's the least that he can do for her then.

Adalyn felt his hands close around her face and she looked back up at him using her elbows again to prop herself up. She felt his lips on her forehead and her mind to her brother, most likely whom was sitting in his room working on yet another wonderful outfit for her to wear. Of course the clothes he made was provacative but neither of them cared about it. Adalyn felt comfortable in the clothes and he enjoyed ripping fabric and sewing it back together to get the interesting designs for her clothing.

"Not what I meant, stupid," she said the last part for herself, though it was all for herself; but she was calling herself stupid for believing or at least having hope he'd kiss her. She didn't look at him, she couldn't instead she pulled away from the window. "I have homework, for Astronomy which is in an hour, I need to finish it," she told him her back turned towards him as she faced the door. Adalyn wasn't trying to run away but she couldn't admit her humiliation to him.

Hearing Adalyn speak in her language again, Alois cannot but to tilt his head to the side. He can't quite get what she had just said, surely, he'll have to learn it then, that way, he didn't have to be so clueless whenever she would speak the said language, and that way, he didn't have to be quiet whenever she would say something.

Alois frowned when he saw Adalyn pulled herself away from him, preparing to head out and leave him be. Honestly, he didn't know what it was that had provoked such reaction, whether he had offended her by kissing her on the forehead, nothing makes sense for him at the moment. And yet, he didn't want her to leave just yet, but she reasoned out that she had something that she should be doing, that she'll have to do her homework for her next class, he didn't know whether to believe her or not, but even so, if she did want to leave, what choice does he have? "Did I do something wrong?" He asked her, voicing out his thoughts, he had decided that if he want to know something from her, all he had to do was ask, he just hoped that the answer that she'll give him though wasn't a lie.

Adalyn turned back to him, he hadn't done anything wrong, more of what was excepted but not hoped for. She decided to just shake her head as an answer before turning and walking to the door. She wasn't sure if she could or should say anything to him now. He had been given a chance after all now it was clear he wanted to be friends just like the girl he liked just wanted to be friends with him. "It's a sad world we live in today," she told herself as she opened up the door to the classroom. She offered him once last chance to stop her by looking back at him before she left.

Alois was actually disappointed when Adalyn started to walk towards the door. The shake of her was something that confuses him, was what she was doing meant that she didn't think that he had committed a mistake, or did it meant that he had somehow disappointed her? Really, Adalyn was one complete mess for him. The words that she had spoken had brought another frown in his face, what was it with her speaking in another language that he can't even understand? Was she deliberately doing it then? Sighing to himself, he reached out for her, one hand placed at her shoulder as if stopping her from leaving, "You said it's no fun to be alone, so if you don't mind, can I come with you?" He inquired before letting his hand drop to his side, whatever it was that should happen between them would be decided by her answer, but he'd respect her choice either way then.

Adalyn paused as she felt his hand on her shoulder. It was a gently tug keeping her from moving any farther away. His words made her lock eyes with him, now he decided to use her words against her decision. "You're not suppose to ask if you can stalk someone," she answered, meaning it for a joke a smile on her face. Adalyn already moved on from him, she knew when it wasn't worth the chase. She moved over to him kissing both his cheeks as she did with her family back home. "If you wish to come with me, you can. But it may not be too interesting," she said after pulling back from him. Adalyn needed to work out some vocal lines of a song and that meant going down to the dugeons to where they kept all of their things in an old dungeon room, the torture equipment still there.

Alois smiled as he heard Adalyn speak, though it wasn't a straight answer, he figured that that would do, "I'll take that as a yes then?" He said, moving his hand on top of her head as he saw her smile. It's a rare thing for her to do that he guessed, so he felt quite honored to see her smiling, no matter if it was because of him, or not. "Well, I guess I'm a unique stalker then, I think it's twice the fun to stalk someone who already know what you are doing.. just for a change I guessed." He added, laughing slightly to himself. He didn't have much to do anyways, and besides, being with Adalyn makes him forget about his worries, makes him forget those things that had been bothering him for quite sometime, so, though indirectly and without real intention to do it, he seemed to be using her by then.

Adalyn glanced at what she could see of his arm as he placed his hand on her head. It wasn't exactly comfortable for her and she was glad when he moved it off of her, she still was in that stage of just trying to move past him. He was too sweet and innocent to really know what he did to girls, it seemed. She was glad he didn't cause a big deal of her kisses, but they seemed to be a thing she did like he did with his hand on her head. Affection, even if it was just between friends, it still meant something and she was beginning to not enjoy this thing going on between them. "Well alright then, if you must. I'm going to the dungeon then, don't get too freaked out," she said with a smirk at him as she pulled herself out of the room.

Alois was too oblivious of the fact that even without meaning to do so, he was starting to use Adalyn to get his mind off his worries, though he had said that he won't do that, it might appeared to be that way. Nevertheless, both of them was quite oblivious of that as well, which is pretty much better, that way, there wouldn't be another awkward tension between them. "The dungeon? Interesting..." He said, ignoring her last statement about him freaking out, he had never been to the dungeons before, too dark of a place for him, too mysterious as well, he had never associated himself with the said place before, not until now. That could be compared with him spending some time with Adalyn, he's starting to get accustomed to her remarks, too her being so confusing, and to her being rather harsh sometimes, slowly, he's beginning to see her world.

As Adalan moved out of the room she turned into the corridor looking back to see if he was indeed going to follow her. SHe took a sharp turn down a small corridor that most never even took a second glance at. Slipping out her wand she tapped a few stones and the enterway to the dungeons opened up infront of them. That was the thing about the castle, there were many opening to the dungeons, but each were only abled to the opened at a certain point during the day. You had to know where to go or else you could go mad thinking you were locked in the dungeons, or rather locked out as now it was more the case. "Well, don't let the spiders bug you, they seem to enjoy the music, odd creatures," she said having to duck underneath a cobweb that was in her way. Adalyn began down the stairs into the darkness, but as they went lights on the wall would light up just long enough for them to get to the next torch before going back out.

Alois had had to quicken his steps just so he'd be on the same pace as Adalyn, he can't loose sight of her now, or else, he might not be able to find her then. Watching as the girl tapped a few stones to reveal an entryway, Alois cannot help but to smirk. He had been in a similar situation before, the one that he had had with Adalyn, for in the pursuit of finding somewhere to hide from those who were following them, Adalyn had showed her a secret hall in the castle. That was one thing that had made his day quite better actually, though it felt a little nostalgic now. "This castle is surely a curious thing." He muttered, wondering how many secrets was held by the said castle, too many secret passages and ares that were yet to be discovered it seemed. Entering the said dungeon, Alis had had to duck to avoid any cobweb getting entangled with his hair, which he was failing at miserably, what with him being a kind of tall. "They wouldn't bug me, their webs do." He said, scanning the area where they were in, it's actually like they were in another place, though the castle was indeed dark in many ways, the dungeon was way eerie it seemed.
